    BBQ Platter

Food was really good, had the BBQ platter. Even the kale coleslaw and potato salad was delicious. The restaurant was clean, we received our food right away. Our waiter was good when he was present but would disappear for a long time, had to wait forever for the bill. The people on the next table were not pleased with the waiter so it wasn't just us.

Came by for dinner the other night and it was a decent experience. Mankas Grill is located in Fairfield...although there weren't too many businesses nearby. It was like going into the countryside after getting off the freeway. Parking is available in front of the restaurant or on the side of the road. Dining was available both indoors along with outdoors. Started off with the bruschetta and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail contained gigantic prawns with a tasty dipping sauce. For the mains, opted for a ribeye medium rare and it was tasty. The marbling was decent and the ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The side of mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables were decent. Service throughout the evening was decent by the waiter, whom did a great job in upselling as well as checking up on us throughout the evening.

What a cute spot! Parking can be a bit tight here so be prepared to possibly park on the main road! Service was attentive but they didn't get our appetizer out before our main meal. I got the prime rib sandwich and it was a huge portion but very delicious. Their truffle fries didn't really seem to have much truffle. The shining star? Their flourless chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream that was so good!

    Tomahawk steak

Had to update our review to lower it a few stars, we've been to this restaurant three more times since my last post and unfortunately today after ordering the tomahawk steak for $165 that's advertised as wagyu we were really disappointed. It was more tough than a choice rated steak. Super chewy and not tender at all. For a steakhouse we expected more. It took us almost 2 hours to get out of there tonight, a busy night for them maybe, usually service is super quick. Other items we always order like the poutine fries and the steak burger were great and are consistently great! Disappointed with the steak though and you feel a little ripped off when something isn't as tender as you'd expect it to be, especially for the price.

We went here on Valentine's Day (I know late post) but other than that the experience was excellent. We had reservation so everything was smooth sailing. We got seated right away. We got served and our food right away. One thing I just had to note though the service was fast and yummy my food was cold. But I had no regrets I would still recommend this place and would try happy hour next time.

It's a quaint little restaurant with a welcoming and warm vibe. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive. We ordered the beef short ribs and 14oz rib eye. Both came with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes. I ordered my steak medium rare and they didn't disappoint. Not old cooled perfectly but WOW, it had a smoky flavor to it. Must try this steak, and don't forget to order finishing salt and balsamic vinaigrette (it goes great with the steak. The short ribs fell apart perfectly. Honestly, everything was amazing. My old fashioned was wonderful and even came with a square ice cube. Very tasty. Things to consider: Bring a coat if you get chilled easily. There's seating outside but when that door opens in the winder you can really feel it in your bones. It's probably the same difference in the summer. If you prefer orange bitters in your cocktail, I recommend bringing your own ramekin from home because they don't have it.

First time here, came with a friend between wine tastings on a Sunday. Made reservations, but probably didn't need them for the time we were there which was post normal lunch time. We ordered the bruchetta to share, I had the BBQ ribs and my friend had the special prime rib dip. My ribs were nicely tender and had a little zing from the sauce. My friend enjoyed her sandwich and we both took some food home, portions are good. We sat inside, but there is also outdoor seating available. Service was good and the staff helpful in deciding what to order. Prices are on the higher side so may not be for everyone, but I recommend it for a nice break between wine tastings.

We had dinner on a weekday. Place wasn't as packed and we were seated right away. I love the ambiance. Our server had taken our orders right away but service after that went downhill from then. We ordered Wagyu beef carpaccio, Rigatoni Bolognese and Steakhouse burger. We also ordered a red sangria and beer. The Sangria wasn't my favorite. Tasted like it is watered down. The beef carpaccio is delicious. But, it was such a disappointment to them to serve it with regular crackers. Even just thinly sliced toasted baguettes would have been much better especially with the price. The pasta is tasty as well the burger with truffle fries. Slow service from my server. Table touch from server was hardly there. After food was delivered, waited again to get checked as we needed other condiments and it took awhile for them to check on us. I am not sure if it was just that night? Maybe we can come back again and give them another try.

I needed to find a dinner place in the middle of a friend and i and chat recommended this place. So happy they dod. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with heaters. For this area it has a more upscale feeling. We were seated immediately. They have a variety of things on their menu which I love. I ordered the salmon and wild rice it was really good. Im trying to eat healthy and it definitely felt very light. I also tried the chicken piccata which was good as well. I love that they serve the water in the wine glass. The customer service was great. It looks like a place people hang at the bar even on week days. I definitely recommend

Enjoyed our evening here while staying in nearby Fairfield. The service was friendly and warm, and the seating area we were in was very cozy! I had the surf and turf with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies; the steak was nice and tender, the potatoes buttery and smooth, and the vegetables had a nice crunch to it. Topped it off with some bread pudding, one of my fave desserts! Definitely give this place a try if you're ever in/around Napa!

Delicious meal. Nice atmosphere. Quick Service. We came here to celebrate a job promotion and wanted to dine somewhere close. Our second time here, and first time coming with reservations since last time we sat at the bar. The salmon was delicious! We also got the artichoke dip (bomb) and my husband got the pork chops with loaded mashed potato. He was bummed they were out of baked potato's and I was bummed they were out of bread pudding. Other than that it was great and we will certainly be back. Definitely a local favorite.

Our waiter was so friendly and helpful with what to order. Started off with a paloma. It was very tasty & good amount of alcohol. Husband and I shared a salad & pasta. Both were so good. The caprese salad with strawberries was delicious. It had a good balance of tangy, sweet & fresh. The pasta was the Rigattoni Bolognes with waygu beef. The flavor was on point and the waygu gave it just the extra special flavor. Good portions for both of them. They have a lot of seating inside and also have some outdoor seating a little enclosed as well. Would definitely recommend a reservation since they are popular. Prices were very reasonable.

Although I've been here many, many times I've forgotten to write about how great it is. My daughter and I went last Sunday and had a lovely brunch - served until 1pm. Yay! I got the farmers breakfast which was great. Perfectly prepared over medium-well eggs. The bacon was extra crispy and the English muffin seemed homemade. Everything was very tasty! My daughter got the wedge salad. She really liked it. We indulged in the creme brûlée for dessert. Yum! Our waiter was great. It's such a cozy place. I love going here and will always come back! Breakfast, lunch and dinner! I've always loved the meals I've had at Mankas. Never once disappointed with anything.

Only piece of bruschetta left after gobbling it up. Soft bread, tangy balsamic

I've tried the chorizo version before and it wasn't my favorite, so I happily went back to the chicken, which is consistently excellent. The café de olla is another highlight. The space itself is clean, modern, and welcoming. The host has always been friendly and attentive. They even make their orange juice fresh, which adds to that fresh, quality feel. I ordered the chicken Philly and specifically asked for no mayo, which was also noted on my receipt. I also asked for jalapeños because the menu listed "hot and sweet peppers," but the server said those were more like bell peppers. The fresh jalapeños ended up being an extra $1.50. Unfortunately, the sandwich arrived with mayo on both sides of the bread. I was already very hungry and getting a headache, so instead of sending it back and waiting again, I tried scraping most of it off. Even after that, the sandwich was still very heavy. There was also a lot of melted cheese that tasted closer to an American or Cheez-Whiz style cheese rather than something milder like provolone or Swiss, which made the sandwich very wet and overly rich. I ended up eating less than half of the sandwich before giving up on it. The garlic fries were decent, though they were very thin shoestring fries and the portion looked larger than it actually was because they were spread out across the tray. The pickle on the side was very soft and soggy and had an unusual mix of dill and sweet flavors, so I only took one bite. To the server's credit, when she saw that I wasn't taking the sandwich to go and mentioned the mayo issue, she gave me 20% off the bill, which I appreciated. However, since more than half of the sandwich went uneaten due to the mistake, a larger adjustment might have felt more appropriate. Overall, the experience was pretty average ("meh"), and while the staff was polite, the food itself didn't live up to expectations. I probably wouldn't return on my own.
