This was my first time at Texas Roadhouse in Fairfield, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I thought it might be overrated, but I was completely blown away! Even though the restaurant was very busy and loud, we were seated almost immediately as a party of two. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with fresh, hot bread, which was the perfect start to the meal. Our server, I believe his name was Ulysses, was clearly very busy, but you could tell he was working hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. He gave us excellent service, and the entire staff was attentive despite how packed the restaurant was. The food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I had a very unique and amazing experience while dining here. My party was seated outside on a day that turned out to be much hotter than I could handle. Without warning, my nose suddenly started bleeding, and I was caught completely off guard. Britannia, one of the managers on duty, immediately stepped in to help. She quickly moved our party inside, made sure I was okay, and handled the situation with kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern. What could have been a very uncomfortable and embarrassing experience was made so much better because of her quick response and compassion. My family and I recently visited Texas Roadhouse in Fairfield to celebrate my dad's birthday, and we had a great experience. A quick tip for first-time visitors: this location gets very busy, so arrive early if you can. They also have QR codes outside that allow you to join the waitlist before being seated. My wife and I used to be regulars at this location when we lived in Fairfield, but we had not been back in over 10 years. It was nice to see that despite all the challenges restaurants have faced over the years, this place is still thriving and as popular as ever. We were even greeted by the owner or manager, which added a nice personal touch. The food was excellent. I ordered the BBQ chicken breast and ribs combo with two sides, and at around $23, I thought it was a great value. Living in San Jose, I'm used to BBQ meals costing significantly more. Of course, the fresh rolls with the cinnamon butter were just as delicious as I remembered. No one in our group had any complaints. Based on my first experience at Texas Roadhouse, I must say this is the best restaurant chain based in the United States. Everything other than maybe the wait to be seated, from the time I got my seat, the friendly and speedy customer service, and the delicious food made for an overall amazing experience. I ordered a few items: Bread: the Texas Roadhouse bread is legendary along with the cinnamon butter for a good reason. Those bundles of joy are addictive, carbs treats. Sampler Platter: The highlights are the boneless wings. Nice meaty bites of chicken with a light batter and nice Buffalo style sauce. The taters were solid and good with the sour cream. Rattle Snake bites were my least favorite, just lightly battered cheesy balls. 23oz Ribeye: this of course was the highlight. Excellent, perfectly cooked steak with the perfect amount of fat to meat ratio. Seasoned well and the mushrooms and onions complemented the steak. Ribs: I thought the ribs were a little lack luster. Finally tried out Texas Roadhouse after passing by it on Interstate 80 throughout the years. I will confess this restaurant is the place to try out. The restaurant allows you to pick your meat before being seated. The choice of beef is amazing that it looks like you're picking it from a butcher. This restaurant can be packed with people dinning inside. The wait to being seated is less than five minutes. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich can be messy. I was able to finish my entire sandwich and still be full from it. I was able to substitute the fries with green beans. Will I try this place again...perhaps! read more

The staff is always very nice and welcoming But yeah any time I've gone for dinner the place is just about as packed as it can get and not any awkward silence at all. Clearly this is a popular place full of happy people. The staff was really friendly which made up the just ok food. Medium rare steak came out medium well. Ribs were mushy from being overcooked. We ate outside which may have been a mistake. The tables were dirty and the staff never cleared anything after guests left. It is obvious that the staff uses this as a break room. ( Sad Face) Today my husband and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary. I'm 70 and he's 74. Our "Second Time Around" has been amazing. We always have an excellent and affordable meal every time. We like to arrive early and miss all the craziness, so we got there at 3:30 and were immediately seated next to the bar. Ok. That's fine. We wait. Finally our server arrives, takes order and leaves. We wait. No bread. No utensils and where's our drinks? Long story short...I ordered a salad, 6oz filet with grilled shrimp and loaded mashed potatoes. We finally got the bread and drinks. Salads came flying in a short time later and before we even had a chance to enjoy it, here comes the Entree? It was crazy and something we've never experienced here? Ok and now for the food review. My filet was absolutely cooked to perfection! However....Potatoes were lukewarm at best. Sour Cream made them cold. I questioned the Grilled Shrimp from first bite. I would definitely recommend reserving a table ahead of time and to time your drive to the ETA. It's easily an hour and a half wait on weekends. You have a double check in process where you get off the waitlist and then go inside to wait to for a waitstaff to bring you to a table. Bread is good but we did get a batch that was not risen as much. The chicken is really tender and juicy and by far the chili and Caesar salad are my favorite sides. Staff are really accommodating and friendly, but they are busy so they aren't floating around all the time. The inside has a western and casual feel, lots of clapping and singing from birthdays. My girlfriend and I tried to come here for an early dinner on a Sunday and it was PACKED! So we left. Today we took our chances for an early lunch (11:30 AM) on a Saturday. It is definitely the time to go as there were empty tables! We were greeted as soon as we came in and seated pretty quickly. Our hostess grabbed us a basket of bread (looked shiny like señorita bread, but it didn't end up being that sweet. The butter was a honey butter and it was yummy!). We thought it was a little weird, but even though they had open 4-seater booths, they sat us at a 6-seater booth that had chairs on the end with an extended table. We didn't mind, we just thought it was weird. The menus are already at the table so we grabbed them and started to decide what to eat. She is on a carnivore diet, so she just wanted some meat! Hahaha. Our server, JaneMarie was awesome. She was very attentive and super helpful. She was super friendly! We settled on the 6 oz steak and grilled shrimp plate that came with 2 sides (house salad/sweet potato with caramel and mushrooms and green beans and "fresh vegetables"). My house salad came out first. I ordered dressing on the side. It was a basic salad - nothing to write home about. The entrees came out in about 20 minutes. The shrimp was laying on 2 slices of bread/toast. The steak was smaller than I thought it would be but it was very well cooked (medium well). The broccoli was cooked in something that did not make me think "fresh". The green beans were smothered in a sauce a with bacon and onion bits. I got the broccoli and green bean to take home since she didn't eat her sides. The sweet potato was the highlight of the meal!! The shrimp were well cooked and flavored nicely. The tops were a bit salty, but not horribly. The steak was easy to cut and tasty. The sweet potato was delicious. I ended up taking my steak home with the sides and the leftover bread. We both LOVED the convenience of being able to pay at the table. We were even able to split the bill in half and pay separately. That is a feature that I appreciate so much! As we finished up, JaneMarie came over and said that her manager had a little something for us. We were excited! She came back and said it was a coupon for a free-something. The manager came over and checked in but didn't give us or say anything special. We got up to leave and I told her Jane had said she had something for us. The service was amazing. The ribs were tasty and tender. Their rolls were light, fluffy, fresh, and warm like always. Absolutely, divine! Most of the time I go, the food is ln point, but today, the bone-in rib eye steak tasted really over seasoned and salty. The baked potatoes were also overly salty. The mac and cheese were delicious. It had a bite to the pasta; and I know this is a preference thing. I would prefer it fully cooked. The steamed veggies were also quite crunchy. The corn was nice and sweet. Was not impressed at all . 1 they allowed a dog to come in and it was sitting right across from us by the bathrooms, and the dog was licking the plate and it grossed us out. 2 we spent $400 in there and we had a party of six they messed up our whole order 3 we had three full racks of ribs and they were overcooked 4 we had fully loaded potatoes for some reason they had salt all on the outside of the potatoes. It gets pretty packed here and I gotta admit they handle it pretty well. They have the process of getting on the waitlist either with the host or I prefer getting on before heading there and pick a time around your eta. Once you get there you text "here" and you will get a notification when your table is ready so can always chill in the car or outdoor or indoor waiting area seating. I've dined in and I've had great experiences with the staff and getting what we needed but only thing is getting around the restaurant like going to washroom can get snugged and tight even the small walkways and loads of workers. I've also tried ordering to-go which was awesome except same concept but receive a text to walked to pickup window outside and avoid the crowd when it's ready and they show everything to verify order and you get those delicious addicting bread rolls with the cinnamon butter with it!!! We came here to celebrate my birthday and my brother's birthday, but we left feeling annoyed because of our server. My husband even said we had never felt so rushed in our lives. Our server (a guy, but I won't name him here since I don't want to ruin his day) came over right after we sat down, when we had just started looking at the menu. We gave him the appetizer order, and then he asked if we were ready for entrées. I told him we weren't ready since our big group was still deciding, and my husband also said he wasn't ready. Yet, he still proceeded to ask my friend for her order. Okay... I guess we had that kind of server. When my friend ordered, he kept insisting she should pick something else, promising it would be cooked to the same doneness as the steak she wanted. Of course, it wasn't done right, and she had to send it back. My brother's steak also wasn't done right, which made things even more frustrating. On top of that, he was barely around the whole time. Other staff ended up helping us more than he did. One of the drinks was also wrong, but my friend just let it slide since we couldn't even find him to fix it. We understand it was busy, but oh my goodness, if the customers aren't ready, don't push them. I ordered the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly to a medium rare--exactly as requested. The seasoning was spot-on, enhancing the flavor without overpowering the meat. What really stood out, though, was the tenderness of the steak. It cut like butter, had just the right amount of marbling, and was incredibly juicy and tender throughout. Yes, it's priced higher than the boneless ribeye, but you're also getting a larger, more flavorful cut. I'd absolutely order it again. For sides, I went with the fresh vegetables (broccoli and carrots in butter) and a cup of chili. The chili was especially impressive--flavor some, hearty, and packed with beef. We decided to celebrate Mother's Day after not coming back for almost a decade. Honestly, after reading some recent Google and Yelp reviews, we were a little hesitant but we're so glad we gave it another shot. We were originally told the wait for our party of 6 would be around 50 minutes, but we got called in after only about 15 minutes, which was already a great start. Our server, Mychal, went above and beyond taking care of us. He had amazing energy, checked on us often, and made sure we were comfortable and happy the entire time. Even while helping other tables, he still made us feel attended to and welcomed. The food was delicious, especially considering how packed and busy the restaurant was. The steak was perfectly cooked, the warm fresh bread was amazing as always, and everything came out surprisingly fast. One thing we also noticed was how organized the staff seemed. Everyone appeared to know their role, worked quickly, and helped keep things moving smoothly. This is one of our favorite dinner spots even crossing a bridge with toll of $8 and driving over 30 plus minutes. They are always busy but still had parking in the lot. I book online and check the waiting period. Once arrived I text that I have arrived and once checked in we had to wait another 10 minutes or so. We ordered the cactus as an appetizer, rib eye with smothered mushrooms and onions, baked potato smothered in bacon and cheese, bowl of chili. This restaurant has been around since I was in high school. I've never really had a bad experience here. I remember back then every hour they use to stop and do a line dance. Wonder why that stopped but now on birthdays sometimes I see them bring out a prop to celebrate. Their steaks are good, I usually get medium rare. Peanuts as well as cinnamon butter with rolls are complementary. We were out for a friend's Birthday and I got the steak with shrimp with a loaded baked potato. It was really good! The day we went it was a Friday night so it was pretty busy. The restaurant's interior is nice, tables aren't overly lit and atmosphere is upbeat. Loaded mashed potatoes and the salad were very filling. Service is attentive. You can pay your bill with the provided kiosk. Ambiance is loud, so it's not the best place to have a conversation. What a fun place! We have never been to a Texas Roadhouse and thought we'd stop in on our way back from Reno. It was MLK day and the place was packed with people. We got there just before 4pm so I was a bit surprised for a Monday. They wait wasn't long and the way the haw it set up to get people seated seemed to work great. Kendyl was our server and she took the time to explain the menu to us. She's super bubbly and made the experience even better. For the price point this food was fantastic! A girl at the door when we walked in was quick to tell my wife that we couldn't sit at the bar tables, and it's not that big of a deal because we just sat at the bar. It wasn't that busy, she just wasn't a very friendly person to be greeting patrons. The bar tender was nice but not very attentive, just the bare minimum I guess, she did her job but that was it. Both our steaks were beyond the point of medium rare, but delicious nonetheless. That salad was actually my favorite part. We have been going to this restaurant for many years so we understand the nuances of a high volumee restaurant. This visit was probably our last. We ordered cocktails, appetizer, salads and 2 large Prime Rib Entrees. Essentially everything arrived at the same time! We were seated at a 2 top that has very little room to start witn. We sent the entrees back so we could enjoy our cocktails, salads and appetizer. After a short while they attempted to deliver our entrees again. Once again we sent them back. The server then said to let them know when we were ready. We said ok and they delivered the warmed over,Au jus spilled plates. My first choice of prime rib medium rare was out by the time I got seated so I had to settle for chicken fried steak. It was only 8:30p and they ran out of medium rare prime rib, the choice was overcooked prime rib or something else. Well that was simple, very hard to try and work through cow that's been killed twice. So I opted for the country fried sirlion. I thought the coating was quite salty for my liking. She confesses to me that Ribeye always has a moist half and a tougher half and she has been hooking herself up with the best half for years. Overall the meal was fine. The negatives. With only one camode for every man in the building to share, someone needs to be assigned latrine duty. First off it was an hour and a half wait to get seated. Waiter said that the rolls would be out soon. Never brought them. Ordered the filet steak medium. $32.99 Came to the table rare. Asked to have it cooked some more. No problem the manager said and took it to the kitchen. Had to ask a different waiter to check on it. When he came back to the table with the steak I cut into it and it was still too rare. Medium rare okay but still not medium as was originally ordered. Tried to eat it anyway. Very bland and dry. My boyfriend and I went to Texas Roadhouse today after the NASCAR race 6/28/26. We both wanted prime rib so we went to Texas Roadhouse. It was packed so we sat at the bar. I ordered my steak MEDIUM. It came medium rare. Way too rare for me. I asked the waitress if they could cook it a little longer and she straight up said you ordered medium and that is what you got. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium rare and it was cold in the center. We both cut off the fat of our prime rib, but we will NEVER return. If this steak looks medium, please let me know your thoughts. We got our food to go and cooked it when we got home. Super pissed. The gal that served us had long hair and it was pulled back and she was serving the meals to those sitting at the bar. read more
