We came here to grab dinner before a movie. This was about 5pm-6pm on a Saturday. Service is the best part! They got us seated immediately, food order was taken quickly, the food came out fast and hot, and we were able to pay using the little tablet at the table so we were in and out and back to the theater in less than an hour! The food is alright. The portions are big! Flavor wise it's also big as in it can be very salty or very peppery. The Mac and cheese could use more cheese and less black pepper. Either way it's very filling heavy food. I liked my prime rib with the horseradish cream. They did let me know that despite ordering it as rare due to how they season it it'll be more on the medium rare side. The sweet potato was buttery and sweet. Next time I'd skip the Mac and cheese and choose something else for the second side. The complimentary bread is very soft! It reminds me of Cheesecake Factory brown bread without the oats in the outside. Desserts are a lot. It's a lot of food and very sweet. In the past we had ordered a couple different desserts. My husband and I went to Outback for lunch while my car was getting serviced. It wasn't busy when we got there, but we still had to wait a while to be greeted and seated. Once we finally sat down, we checked out their menu. They had a good variety of food, but my husband settled on the half-pound outbacker burger, medium well, with fries. I got the Alice Springs Chicken with a side salad. We also wanted to try the Steakhouse Mac & Cheese. Our server asked if we wanted some free bread while we waited, which was yes. While we waited for the food, I went to use the bathroom. We were seated at the front of the restaurant, and the bathrooms are at the back in the corner. Once I walked toward the back, there was a very overwhelming, unpleasant smell. The odor was quite unpleasant. It seemed to be a combination of plumbing issues and a strong cleaning agent. I am uncertain of the exact source, but it was not an good aroma for a restaurant. I didn't smell it where we were sitting, and that might be why most of the guests were seated really far from that area. Once I got back to my seat, I was very unsettled. Once our food arrived, everything seemed okay. My husband said his burger was good, but he thinks they made it medium instead of medium-well. Other than that, he enjoyed it. My chicken was really good, and the mac and cheese was my favorite. It had a little kick to it and they make it with cavatappi noodles which is something I do. We had a reservation for nine people tonight and we waited over an hour and a half. We were told that we could be waiting as long as two to three hours before being seated. The staff were clueless on how a restaurant operates and were incapable of accommodating us. Every-time a table came up, they gave it to someone else. I guess they thought since we all got drinks at the bar to pass the time, they could ignore us. We spoke to the manager and he wanted us to believe that he was the victim in this whole scenario. He was not any help and was even less helpful than his staff. We used to love this place, but unfortunately, they lost all of our business. After an hour and 40 minutes we left and had great service and great food at Mary's. Having reservations were pretty much useless at Outback, even for a large party. I would rate them ZERO! Craving the blooming onion as I haven't had it for over 20 years. With no location near where we live, I made it a requirement for us to eat lunch here. We ordered the blooming onion. My main was the steak and chicken combo. I figured with the appetizer and bread, I'd only eat half of my main and take the leftovers home. The blooming onion was as I remembered it. We were heading back to Sacramento from the Bay and decided to have dinner here. The service wasn't bad, but the food was. There was an abundance of black pepper in every item of our meals! We were in the area to get our dogs teeth cleaning done the other day and my husband was craving a bloomin' onion, so we made a to-go order here and figured we'd eat at the park which is typically standard procedure when we have our pup with us. The wait time for the order seemed a bit long so I made my husband head in about 10 minutes before it was supposed to be ready and, you guessed it, it was just sitting there ready to go. As we were driving away I saw a small patio and said that maybe we could have brought her and sat on the patio but since we already had it all to go, we continued to the park. I see now from other reviews that they do have a small dog-friendly patio and that would be a nice thing for people to know. When we got to the park just a few minutes away we had our app and meals. The bun on my husband's burger was so soggy we had to take it off. Their fries aren't very good either and even though we were looking forward to our bloomin onion, it was incredibly oily so we ended up throwing half of it away. I had the prime rib sandwich and I would get it again for sure. Lots of meat, good flavor and a nice soft roll. When we dine in, my husband gets the 18 oz bone in ribeye and he enjoys that also. Major kudos to the hostess and team on managing a full waiting area this Sat nite! Our party of 5 was seated well within the expected time (10 min) and received the text confirmation that a table was ready. Whoever was working the front today was such a trooper handling an entitled guest that threw a fit when we were seated before her--we were on the list before her but didn't of course she looked too hangry to care anyway. And protect Sierra at all costs! She was so kind and attentive while waiting on us. She even helped me with redeeming a gift card. Food came out in a timely fashion and we enjoyed it all. I like the addition of chimichurri sauce I think shoestring fried carrots should be on everything! I'm not even a salad person yet would eat the blue cheese pecan salad daily if I could! Meat has a soggy texture, a lot of fat and NO seasoning on either. Just how the meat was mushy then slimy we both spit it out in trash. The mozzarella boomerangs were also soggy and the cheese felt like slime. In the trash too. Ones I buy from store are 100% better. I've never had cheese that felt slimy. That's not real cheese. I'm not even sure if the steak is real? Who knows maybe it's beyond meat, yuck. even my dogs I went to see if they would eat a small piece and they wouldn't. The best part of the meal was fries, baked potato, and bread that came with the dinner. WE WILL NEVER BUY OUTBACK AGAIN. We have been coming here every 2 months or so... I am having surgery and won't be able to enjoy it for a little while so I decided to order take out. I know picked up at 930, they close at 10 so maybe they just don't cook the good stuff late? First- the broccoli was left in the bag they cook it in... it says Friday on the bag and the broccoli had black spots all over it so I guess it should have been tossed on Friday today is Sunday.
