We came to Show De Carnes for dinner on a Friday evening around 7:15pm. When we walked in, we were greeting by sounds of live music. Most of the inside seating was full, only 2 tables for 2 were available (were were a party of 3), but a nice lady (might be the owner's daughter) with 2 small children got up and came up to me to let me know she was getting ready to leave soon. She moved all their stuff and the 2 children to one of the small tables so the bigger table could be cleaned for us. They were a little short handed that day (owner said someone called in sick), so just the owner and cook were working. Bother owner and the cook worked fast to clean the table so we could be seated. More people came in after us and sat in their outdoor seating (a little chilly to sit outside that day). The owner did a great job serving all the customers by himself. The cook would help deliver the cooked food as well and help with customers if he wasn't cooking. The owner was apologetic about the slower service, but in actuality, it wasn't bad. As for the food, we ordered our usual, the Picanha Steak Platter (feeds 2-4 people) which is our favorite and over the best deal. Unfortunately in the past 2 years the price has gone up by about $20 (currently $70.99), but is still a great deal for 5 steaks on a sizzling platter (cooked to the doneness you want), rice and beans. There was already one table finishing up and another party still there, but they assured us they were happy to serve us, which we truly appreciated. We ordered the picanha platter with medium-rare steak, which came with a couple of sides. Everything was cooked fresh, and you could really taste the quality in the steak. The food was absolutely delicious and offered great value. While some places offer all-you-can-eat options, I personally prefer a well-prepared platter like this since I don't tend to eat large portions. This is a family-run restaurant, and it truly shows. The father-and-son team delivers both quality food and excellent customer service. They clearly take pride in what they do. The restaurant is in a great location and likely sees plenty of tourists on weekends, though they definitely deserve more local support during the week. We had the chance to chat with the owner for a bit and really enjoyed the conversation. Even as they were closing, they warmly welcomed another party of six since the grill was still hot and they were happy to keep it going. The dining area was clean, and I noticed the staff consistently tidying and wiping down tables, even those not in use. The restrooms were also fairly clean. Glad we finally tried this place out! Can't go wrong with Rice and Steak! We ordered the Picanha Steak Platter (feeds 2-3ppl) which came with rice, black beans, chimichurri and vinaigrette which kinda reminded me of a poco de gallo without the lime or cilantro either way it went well with the steak! Steaks were cooked to our liking and flavored well also enjoyed the sliced onions that came with our sizzling platter of meat. Sadly, think Inflation has gotten to this place too. We were here in December for my birthday for the first time and loved this place, with the same people we left full. This time the food has definitely shrunk while prices went up. We ordered the Picanhas Steak last time and their were pretty large and filling at $49.99 it was worth coming here! This last trip, unfortunately, was a bit lack luster our steaks were so small maybe about 75% of last time and one of the 5 was so small you could take 2 of them to make what it used to be and they raised the price $10. I want to add that our steaks this time were cut so thin, I almost want to say my carne asada from a Mexican place was cut thicker than my steak. They had something going on with the kitchen that the whole place filled with smoke so we had them move us outside. I will say flavor wise this place is great, but for what you get I'm a bit saddened. Definitely a shadow of what it used to be. My husband kept raving about this steak place In Vacaville. I was expecting a fancy steak place, but it's a Brazilian family restaurant. All I can say is Delicious!!!!! The flavor of the steak was the best I ever tasted and I love how they char the fat of the steak as well. Melts in your mouth (I am salivating just thinking about it) that you just want to eat the steak with your fingers to make sure you get all the flavor on you and not left in the plate. I loved the beans and rice with the steak. Only way to eat steak in my opinion. It also comes with fries but I opted to not get it. The dessert was so good as well. Lucky find by accident. We were headed to Fenton's creamery next door, but the menu did not appeal to us. Saw this on Google Maps and it had such a high rating so I had to check it out. Wowzerzzzzz!!!!! It was awesome delicious!!!! My girlfriend and I split the Picanha steak platter with 5 pieces of top sirloin on a sizzling platter, white rice, black beans, chimmichurri sauce, and fresh Maracuya Passionfruit juice. Amazing food. We got the chef special which was enough for 2 people! We switched out the fries for mash potatoes which was an extra charge but it was delicious! The food came with a large plate of meat, rice, and a usually fries. I am still thinking about this meal! They also provide the table with hot sauce that is made in-house. Ambiance was pretty nice. The food is good, but not spectacular when compared to higher end Brazilian steakhouses. We each got a plate for a total of 4 entrees: 2 Ribeye and 2 Picanha. Ribeye is supposed to be a premium cut, but the Ribeye Plate was average. In my opinion, the meat looked sad. Medium and medium rare was requested, but both steaks were undercooked. The Picanha Steak Plate was a step above the ribeye. It had more flavor, visible grill marks, and looked more llke a steak. Medium and medium rare was requested and delivered. I called 2 hours ahead to book a reservation for 6:30pm on a Saturday. I was asked to provide my name and phone number, and I was told it was confirmed. Upon on time arrival, there was no indoor table available. Outside seating was open but no one was dining in the cold weather. Sadly, the reservation was not administered because we had to wait 25 minutes for an indoor table. The staff was apologetic, however, it was not a good impression for our first visit. read more

I am pleased to say that my experience has improved significantly since my older review. The steak Picanha plate is the greatest value and it is a very shareable portion too! The prices for other items is ridiculous though. How much for those cheesy bacon fries? Over$20 bucks? Ummm cuckoo! The Coxinha is delicious but to pay over $20 bucks for an appetizer is also bonkers! I can go to Richmond and pay half that for the quality, quantity and taste. We walked in on one of the hottest days of the year and omg the AC was not working. My family sat down before I could tell them to stop and turn around, and they didn't seem to want to leave so I just relented and sat down. Now I know what it's like to dine in hell. Well, I always like to give folks a second chance to make things right...but like a poor marksman, these guys kept missing the target of delivering a satisfying dining experience. It's no wonder that we were the only clients there. FYI: They changed their name to PICANHA's EXPRESS. The menu-font was microscopically small to read. They said that they were getting new menus, and the take-out menus were all they had. I ordered a ($36) ribeye -medium. That seemed very-steep for a bistro-sized restaurant....but I wanted to give it a try, to see if the food was exceptional. My wife had the steak & eggs. My steak came out super-rare (dark-red throughout...no pink at all). I pointed this out and the explanation was that their normal chef was not in that evening, and the other guy was (essentially) learning how to cook. To the apprentice's credit, he got it right on the 2nd-try. I was willing to overlook this. My wife's steak was paper-thin. The eggs likely packed more protein than the sliver of meat below. Then, when it came time to settle-up was when the real fun began: THEY DID NOT BRING OUT A RECEIPT TO REVIEW. Rather, they cheerfully brought out their card-reader first, and we got our receipt texted to us afterward. Now, we were aware of the 5% increase, unappealingly posted all over the dining room. However, when we tallied the numbers later, my wife's meal had a 6% increase...mine was 10%.....not the 5% as posted. Furthermore, they did not inform us of an additional PASS-THROUGH FEE of 3.2% -as required by law to be conspicuously posted. It was not. We won't be going back and we'd recommend that you spend your $$$ somewhere else. McDonalds would be a better dining experience..... read more

Everything is always so flavorful and hits the spot. We love their assortment of wine, too. If you look up at the different screens above, they show beautiful photos of the dishes, which help if you're having trouble deciding. Coming here and stumbling upon this little gem was not on our bucket list for today but i'm glad we stopped by here instead of kiki's next door. Ive been to the larger chain where they do the all you can eat although to my surprise this was not the same. With an actual menu with different options that all looked delicious. We decided to stick with something simple just incase we didnt enjoy it but it was so good! The picanha steak plate was the PERFECT serving size . Cooked to my perfect medium alongside the rice was a great combination. The rice had a bit of flavor that wasnt too over powering and the steaks were a good standard size which came with 2 . Usually places that serve steak cheap out on the portion but gladly they didnt here. Rodrigo was super nice and attentive with us, refilled our drinks, made sure everything was perfect. He explained a little about the place and its background which is always nice to hear! He made us feel welcome as young customers we usually feel like people dont like to serve us because of the discriminatory "youth dont tip" mentality a lot of servers have but he made us feel so welcome and never felt rushed or unwanted around. We sat outside and was given your paper menu. When we went inside to pay, the price for our meal was more than what was stated on your menu. When I brought it to the cashiers attention, he pointed to a sign on the wall saying there had been a 5% food price increase. I advised that we sat outside and did not see that prior, and in any case should have been advised by our waiter, which we were not. When I said that, the cashier said sorry he should have told you. He also mentioned how they weren't going to update their menus everytime a price changed... isn't that what restaurants do?? If you check their website, the pricing for their dishes are outdated more than their menus. Updating a website is free, so it's hard to believe that they care about updating it anywhere. No price adjustment or anything. While i understand the reason for the price increase due to inflation I think it extremely shady to not update your menu or advise your customers of such a change! Regarding the food, everything lacks seasoning. You get the steak platter to share and the amount of beans that come out is a serving size for one. I was already planning not to come back but after the shady pricing on their mediocre food, it basically solidified that choice for me moving forward. read more

My sister and niece were visiting and wanted to have steak on a random Monday afternoon and this place has pretty good reviews so we decided to try it out. The restaurant seems like it has been there for quite some time now and the menus were old and frayed but the interior is kept clean and tidy. It is pretty tight inside but they have a few tables outside. It was pretty chilly but they had warmers available. My niece got one of their steaks and the portion was beyond generous! She said her steak was cooked to her liking but not seasoned well enough. I ordered the beef stroganoff and I liked it very much, I will return here just for that. Restaurant; it was very very clean. The bathroom although small was well kept and clean even towards end of day. No funk at all. Nice decor but the silverware seemed really dated like from the 60s. Service: waiters were pretty knowledgeable and kind really seem to like their job so that helps a lot. Pretty decent. Food: food was pretty good. If you want just some meat some steak that is flavorful and cooked pretty good you can't go wrong. Portions are pretty good priced decently I would say a little bit on the high side but not crazy high. The chimichurri was terrible though. It wasn't fresh and good chimichurri is always good when it's fresh this chimichurri had no bite no flavor no acid it didn't have any fresh parsley in it and you can tell because it was like a dark green not bright at all and that's disappointing you really need that to accent the meat. The chef's special was the picanha steak. This was delicious however, it was too salty. Fries were excellent and the plantains were delicious. The server checked in on us plenty and asked for feedback on the food, we told him that steak was too salty. He apologized and knocked a few percentage off the bill. Being married to a Brazilian, I'm so grateful to have Show de Carnes Express in town! The food here is fantastic, with high-quality meats cooked perfectly every time. The picanha is hands down our favorite--tender, flavorful, and truly authentic. Unlike traditional Brazilian churrascarias where you leave stuffed to the brim, sweating meat, and feeling like you need a trip to the ER, this spot is refreshingly different. It's an order-off-the-menu experience, which lets you enjoy each dish without overdoing it. We also love the outdoor seating, which is dog-friendly--perfect for bringing our pup along on nice days. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. Our only small complaint is that we wish they stayed open a bit later, and had Brazilian beers (they only have domestic offerings) but that doesn't stop us from coming back. Most impressed I've been with restaurant food in a long time! You can really tell everything is quality and made to order. We got the "Chef's Special" plate which comes with their Picanha steak on a sizzling bed of grilled onions. For the sides it comes with their rice and fries. All things were amazing!!
