I try not to fill up on the market table, but it is really good here! All of the meats are so perfectly cooked, brought to the table hot and delicious. The grilled honey with cheese is one of my favorites, along with the grilled pineapple. I can't think of a single meat I didn't enjoy. $250 wasted. This is the coupon that brought us to this Fogo de cao in Emeryville, after visiting a similar concept restaurant in Palo Alto and were pretty happy with the food and atmosphere there. Anyway, upon arrival the nice waiter explained to us that the coupon we had does not give access to the better cuts of meat so we decided to upgrade to a full price deal that includes all of the cuts so that we can get the full experience and thoroughly enjoy our night. We also ordered a couple of glasses of wine and a couple of diet cokes. After serving us a couple of rounds of a blend of all sorts of meat cuts, suddenly the waiters stopped coming to our table and a supervisor type nice man came and asked us if there was anything else we needed, which basically meant something like this "you ate at the $83 value that you are paying for, what else do we need to serve you in order for you guys to clear the table?" This Fogo de Chao location is not as awesome as the one we go to in Huntington Beach. We like to order the Happy Hour menu/Bar menu and not all servers can hide their disappointment that we're not ordering the Full Churrasco at $83/pp or a Seafood Tower for $112. The Bar menu has lots of shareable bites so you can try a lot of different dishes. My absolute favorite item is the Queijo Assado ($8) which is fried cheese served with malagueta honey. It's so good! The Braised Beef Rib Sliders ($15.50) are also super tasty. We ordered the Yuca Fries ($8) but there are so many better items so I would skip those. The Bone ($20) is a large beef rib with delicious chimichurri sauce. Also good are the Lamb Lollipops ($22) and more chimichurri! The big disappointment was the Filet Mignon Board ($28) where it looked like half the size of a normal order. Who got the other half of our order!? We walked by the Market Table & Feijoada Bar and it looked so good. On the menu it says you can add unlimited trips for $43. We'll have to ask about that next time. It's been a while that we've been to the happy hour at the SF location, we were looking forward to happy hour at this Bay St. location. Arriving at 5pm on a recent Friday, we advised the hostess we were here for happy hour and walked us to a table next to the bar. Kurmari and Sofia were our servers. Didn't realize that happy hour is all-day now with four $6 bar bites, $12 Picanha Burger, six $10 cocktails, four $8 wines and two $6 beers. We started out with a Passionate Caipirinha cocktail and a Xingu beer. Our food order: Brazilian Empanadas - four Picanha filled empanadas with a chimichurri aioli. The filling was tasty. Picanha Burger - one of my go-to. The thick burger on brioche with smoked provolone was moist and cooked medium as ordered. Ordered our favorite bar item, The Bone. It's a large beef rib with the beef cut off the bone into eight pieces. So tender. Comes with a chimichurri sauce. We also were served their tasty cheese bread and even got served tastings of grilled pineapple and honey cheese by the gauchos. We arrived early to our reservation & were seated quickly. We were seat in the far back corner which we didn't mind but that ultimately ended up being our downfall at the end of our night. Our first issue, I normally order the lobster and shrimp HEATED with a side of warm butter at the other locations & my fiancé gets the churrasco experience. We were told they couldn't serve the seafood warm per the chef, I mentioned we normally order it at other locations & they stated their franchise can't accommodate & they couldn't bring warm butter for our lobster tails we had to order à la carte, instead we were brought cold individually wrapped butter squares. Next issue, about an hour into our dinner it seemed to get a bit busy, a large table next to us was seated & we were completely forgotten about by our server for upwards of an hour then other servers began checking on us. My fiancé waited at one point almost 45 mins to be offered any cuts & I waited upwards of an hour for bread. We became so turned off by the wait we asked for our dessert which also took about a half hour. We did notify the manager of our unsatisfactory experience and she told the server to let us know she'd offer us 30% off our bill.. we normally see a lot more of the managers at the other locations which was also not the case here. When inquiring regarding the lack of accommodations when it came to the seafood as we've never experienced issues at the other locations the server mentioned other locations "accommodate surrounding cultures of the area" however, all the other restaurants are also located within the Bay Area with the same demographics so I'm unsure what that meant. Oh man we used to love coming here! We came for a Father's Day celebration on the Saturday before the actual day. You have to pay for parking in the garage, or the street. We made reservations ahead of time for a big group and we were seated 35 mins PAST our reservation time. Now let me paint a picture for you, the front desk was packed with people waiting for tables and trying to check in. We had kids with us and it was not great waiting with them in a crowded place. It felt claustrophobic and I feel like management should have managed the crowd better. People were bumping into each other, couldn't get in and out freely, and people were hangry at the same time. We were finally seated and our server was fine. She was good but she wasn't warm to us. Anyways, the meats were good, the actual people serving the meat were friendly and attentive. No more chicken hearts (they don't serve it anymore) and the grilled cheese was way too salty, while the grilled pineapple could have been grilled a little longer. I just wasn't happy with the experience and the service. We had to keep asking for things and some were forgotten. I understand it's a busy day, and I try to be gracious, but I just did not have a nice experience. The buffet bar was pretty lacking, nothing worth remembering. The walkway to the restroom is very slippery (watch out if you're wearing heels). I refuse to bring my family here next time and will dine where we are appreciated not tolerated! read more

The happy hour at Fogo is severely underrated. A $10 picanha burger w/ polenta fries?! Say no more. The ambiance is great. It's not overly loud and a solid spot to catch a game. I really wanted to love this location because I had an amazing experience at the Fogo de Chão in Portland, Oregon. That experience is actually why I chose this restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday with my family. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Our server explained everything well in the beginning, but after we ordered, we felt largely forgotten. After getting our salads, it took about 10-15 minutes before we were given the red/green cards for the meat service. It was actually the people serving the meat who noticed we needed the cards and brought them over. I was also surprised that we weren't given the plates for the tableside meat service like we had been at the Portland location. My brother ordered carrots and asked about them multiple times. A manager eventually checked on our table, and when we mentioned the carrots, she said she would look into it. My brother decided he still wanted them, but they never came and nobody followed up with us. Our water also wasn't refilled, and our server rarely came back to check on us. The food was okay, but the service really took away from what should have been a special birthday celebration. My entire family noticed how neglected our table felt, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. I won't be coming back to this location. read more

Came here with a few coworkers who were in town for a team offsite. They were craving steak, and since there weren't many options near our hotel, we decided to check this place out. We weren't quite hungry enough to do AYCE, so we ordered à la carte instead. We went with the lobster and shrimp tower appetizer, dry-aged tomahawk, lobster mac and cheese, and yuca fries. Surprisingly, the lobster mac and cheese completely stole the show--it was the standout dish of the night. The tomahawk was good and cooked perfectly, with great quality meat. I just wish it was seasoned a bit more. They do provide salt and chimichurri sauce, but it still felt like it was missing that extra something flavor-wise. And don't skip the complimentary cheese bread! It comes out warm and is absolutely delicious. Definitely ask for butter--we couldn't stop eating these, lol. Overall, it was a nice meal, plenty of food, and we even had leftovers. If you're really hungry, I'd recommend going for the full experience so you can enjoy the salad bar too. read more

We visited Fogo de Chão expecting the advertised $49 all-you-can-eat special, only to learn it's not available at California locations. Instead, we paid about $80 per adult. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and we were seated immediately. However, the service was disappointing. I asked multiple times for the queijo com mel and was repeatedly told it would be out soon, but it didn't arrive until we were already full and ready to leave. My kids also had a hard time getting more than a piece or two of grilled pineapple at a time. The salad bar was just okay, and the meat selection felt limited compared to other Brazilian steakhouses. I missed seafood options like grilled shrimp, and my husband was disappointed there were no chicken hearts. For the price, we expected much more. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience when compared to the Fogo in SF. Check-in was quick, but once we were seated, we ordered drinks from our server, and they never arrived. The Market Table was decent and offered a wide selection of seasonal salads, fresh veggies, cured meats, and other dishes. Aside from that, our server never checked in with us, and we didn't see her again for the rest of the evening. When it was time to request the bill, we waited 40 minutes, and no one came. Was super stoked to try Fogo de Chao after years of wanting to see what the hype was about with Brazilian BBQ. My partner and I came here for an anniversary lunch date and were able to try the $44/person lunch special churrasco ( basic All you can eat) which is a pretty good deal for the quality selection that we would be able to try. We had a reservation and was seated quickly on a Friday afternoon once we arrived. The interior is well organized and lively, a big step up from the P.F. Changs that was originally there. The waiters were very kind and got us started with how the set up works: open salad/appetizer bar and servers will come with big skewers of different selections of meat to carve for us table-side. We were enamored by the gorgeous Feijoada bar options - we took some salami/prosciutto, roasted cauliflower, salad, corn, peppers, etc - we had to stop ourselves short remembering that this would just fill us up before the meat came. Waiters also came around offering some mashed potatoes, fried polenta and platanos, and their famous Pao de Queijo cheese bread which was incredible, arguably better than any restaurant bread I have had; yes even better than Red Lobster's rolls. The star of the show was obviously the meat. Every single option they gave us was fantastic. From roasted chicken, lamb, ribeye, parmesan crusted chicken, linguica, we were amazed at the smoky richness that each subsequent meat offered to our palate. However, the Picanha top sirloin illustrated why it is by far the favorite for Brazilian bbq. The balance of fattiness and meatiness had us asking for 2 more servings after our first try - it was that good. I honestly could come back and ONLY have picanha and be very satisfied. We came in to experience the 4-course promo dining experience. The hostess who sat us was nice. We were disappointed with the lack of attention we received from the other staff. When they did come around, staff was polite and friendly but they rarely came by to check on us or even offer us any meat. Our green paper was face up too. They would stop at the table to offer us a meat then the next time they would come was about 10-15 min later. The timing between the offerings was terribly slow. We decided to start calling their attention to ask for meat and baked cheese which they happily said they'd send someone over but it still took a while for the meat and cheese to come. It's as if they were rationing the entrees. We also ended up waving down our waitress more than 5 times to ask for refills on our beverages. We dined here on a Sunday around 2pm and it didn't seem busy. It's a beautiful restaurant with great salad bar selections but the main reason to come to this type of restaurant is to enjoy the variety of meat offerings. To top it off none of the staff wished me a happy bday even though I had a piece of paper on my table that said happy birthday. I signed up for their rewards membership and was pleased they sent me a $25 credit to use for bday dining experience. However I wasn't allowed to use the $25 credit when it was time to pay because they said you couldn't use the promo at the same time as the 4-course dining experience. For the almost 2.5 hours we were there, we did a lot of waiting around. We also witnessed a very angry customer yelling at the top of her lungs at some of the staff members regarding her missing credit card. We thought it was odd that a manager didn't ask the customer if the conversation could continue in a more discreet place like an office or perhaps outside. It was unnerving to hear/see all of that. One nice waitress who wore a head wrap whispered 'sorry y'all ' to us as she walked by likely because she saw that we looked distraught. Other than that I didn't see any manager type people or even our own waitress Sara come by to say sorry to the patrons about the incident.
