I rarely leave negative reviews, especially because I've dined at this location several times and have always had a good experience. Unfortunately, this visit was by far the worst in terms of customer service. We were celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday, and while the food was absolutely amazing--as always--and the food runners were outstanding, our main waiter completely dropped the ball. After taking our initial order, she literally never came back to our table outside of dropping sides off. We had to rely on other staff for refills, requests, and anything else we needed. However , it still took some time to be waited on. It was disappointing, especially considering we were celebrating such a special occasion. The quality of the food and the attentiveness of the food runners deserve five stars, but the lack of service from our assigned waiter overshadowed what should have been a memorable evening. As a longtime customer, I expected much better. I truly hope management addresses this because this experience was not reflective of the level of service I've received here in the past. Was just here yesterday afternoon. I used to come here alot and its been awhile. Started off by ordering some sangria but unfortunately they didn't have the ingredients to make it? Ordered a beef rib and filet mignon board. The beef rib was ok and i didnt see any salt on it. The filet mignon came out pretty much rare and i ordered it medium. I told the server and they took it back and returned with it the exact same way. Smh. They took it back one more time and then it looked a bit more cooked but it just tasted horrible, very bloody tasting. The server took if off our tab and was being as helpful as she could've been. The all day happy hour was a hit. It was a chilly day but we scored a table on Saturday for dinner. The waitress took a while to arrive, but when she did, she was the best. We got the beef ribs, yucca fries, spicy chicken sliders, and lobster cabbage tacos. The medium rib and sliced meat were amazing in taste and portion size. The warm Brazilian bread made me happy. The sliders were unforgettable, unfortunately. But we enjoyed the seafood tacos with sauce on the side. The hot yucca fries with Parmesan were good with the slightly tangy sauce. We came in to experience the 4-course promo dining experience. The hostess who sat us was nice. We were disappointed with the lack of attention we received from the other staff. When they did come around, staff was polite and friendly but they rarely came by to check on us or even offer us any meat. Our green paper was face up too. They would stop at the table to offer us a meat then the next time they would come was about 10-15 min later. The timing between the offerings was terribly slow. We decided to start calling their attention to ask for meat and baked cheese which they happily said they'd send someone over but it still took a while for the meat and cheese to come. It's as if they were rationing the entrees. We also ended up waving down our waitress more than 5 times to ask for refills on our beverages. We dined here on a Sunday around 2pm and it didn't seem busy. It's a beautiful restaurant with great salad bar selections but the main reason to come to this type of restaurant is to enjoy the variety of meat offerings. To top it off none of the staff wished me a happy bday even though I had a piece of paper on my table that said happy birthday. I signed up for their rewards membership and was pleased they sent me a $25 credit to use for bday dining experience. However I wasn't allowed to use the $25 credit when it was time to pay because they said you couldn't use the promo at the same time as the 4-course dining experience. For the almost 2.5 hours we were there, we did a lot of waiting around. We also witnessed a very angry customer yelling at the top of her lungs at some of the staff members regarding her missing credit card. We thought it was odd that a manager didn't ask the customer if the conversation could continue in a more discreet place like an office or perhaps outside. It was unnerving to hear/see all of that. One nice waitress who wore a head wrap whispered 'sorry y'all ' to us as she walked by likely because she saw that we looked distraught. Oh man we used to love coming here! We came for a Father's Day celebration on the Saturday before the actual day. You have to pay for parking in the garage, or the street. We made reservations ahead of time for a big group and we were seated 35 mins PAST our reservation time. Now let me paint a picture for you, the front desk was packed with people waiting for tables and trying to check in. We had kids with us and it was not great waiting with them in a crowded place. It felt claustrophobic and I feel like management should have managed the crowd better. People were bumping into each other, couldn't get in and out freely, and people were hangry at the same time. We were finally seated and our server was fine. She was good but she wasn't warm to us. Anyways, the meats were good, the actual people serving the meat were friendly and attentive. No more chicken hearts (they don't serve it anymore) and the grilled cheese was way too salty, while the grilled pineapple could have been grilled a little longer. I just wasn't happy with the experience and the service. We had to keep asking for things and some were forgotten. I understand it's a busy day, and I try to be gracious, but I just did not have a nice experience. The buffet bar was pretty lacking, nothing worth remembering. The happy hour at Fogo is severely underrated. A $10 picanha burger w/ polenta fries?! Say no more. The ambiance is great. It's not overly loud and a solid spot to catch a game. I have had excellent service on both of my recent visits here. John does a fantastic job at the bar on the cocktails and goes above and beyond. The $16 Dino rib is another favorite from the bar menu. This is becoming one of my regular spots given the great value and proximity to the theatre. read more

If you're into Lamb, that was solid as well. The grilled pineapple is a must. Also, ask for the fried bananas. Wow. The service is superb. Shoutout to Will!!! We visited Fogo de Chão expecting the advertised $49 all-you-can-eat special, only to learn it's not available at California locations. Instead, we paid about $80 per adult. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and we were seated immediately. However, the service was disappointing. I asked multiple times for the queijo com mel and was repeatedly told it would be out soon, but it didn't arrive until we were already full and ready to leave. My kids also had a hard time getting more than a piece or two of grilled pineapple at a time. The salad bar was just okay, and the meat selection felt limited compared to other Brazilian steakhouses. I missed seafood options like grilled shrimp, and my husband was disappointed there were no chicken hearts. For the price, we expected much more. We prefer Galpão Gaúcho in Walnut Creek, which offers better service, more variety, and a better overall experience. read more

Came here with a few coworkers who were in town for a team offsite. They were craving steak, and since there weren't many options near our hotel, we decided to check this place out. We weren't quite hungry enough to do AYCE, so we ordered à la carte instead. We went with the lobster and shrimp tower appetizer, dry-aged tomahawk, lobster mac and cheese, and yuca fries. Surprisingly, the lobster mac and cheese completely stole the show--it was the standout dish of the night. The tomahawk was good and cooked perfectly, with great quality meat. I just wish it was seasoned a bit more. They do provide salt and chimichurri sauce, but it still felt like it was missing that extra something flavor-wise. And don't skip the complimentary cheese bread! It comes out warm and is absolutely delicious. Definitely ask for butter--we couldn't stop eating these, lol. This is by far the worst Fogo de Chão location we have ever visited. The entire experience was highly disappointing. When we asked to add two more people to our reservation, the hostess openly rolled her eyes at us. Neither she nor the manager made any effort to be welcoming or smile. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive; we had to repeatedly ask for meat to be brought to our table. Unlike other Brazilian steakhouses, their selection was extremely limited, and the buffet was poorly stocked, consisting mostly of fruit. To make matters worse, we waited 15 to 20 minutes just to get our desserts and the final check. I would suggest choosing a different Brazilian steakhouse for a better experience and value. read more

Disclaimer: You have to ask for specialty cuts like lamb chops, lamb picanha, or bone in ribeye but they make it very fast and well for you. The cuts were very savory, especially the beef picanha and the lamb picanha. The lamb chops were the best cut and they were so flavorful and moderately fatty. They definitely picked the best cuts of meat for the menu. Their market side table is really good. Tbh, you could come here just for their market side. It's only 20 dollars and you get a whole assortment of things. I did not get a lot from there since I wanted to get as many cuts of meat as possible but their candied bacon and smoked salmon were amazing!! Definitely two must haves!!! We had a reservation to celebrate a birthday, and this was our first time trying Fogo de Chao at the East Bay location. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience when compared to the Fogo in SF. Check-in was quick, but once we were seated, we ordered drinks from our server, and they never arrived. The food was overly salty, and the chefs were slow with the tableside carvings. At certain points, we didn't see any staff serving meat at all. The Market Table was decent and offered a wide selection of seasonal salads, fresh veggies, cured meats, and other dishes. Aside from that, our server never checked in with us, and we didn't see her again for the rest of the evening. When it was time to request the bill, we waited 40 minutes, and no one came. Was super stoked to try Fogo de Chao after years of wanting to see what the hype was about with Brazilian BBQ. My partner and I came here for an anniversary lunch date and were able to try the $44/person lunch special churrasco ( basic All you can eat) which is a pretty good deal for the quality selection that we would be able to try. We had a reservation and was seated quickly on a Friday afternoon once we arrived. The interior is well organized and lively, a big step up from the P.F. Changs that was originally there. The waiters were very kind and got us started with how the set up works: open salad/appetizer bar and servers will come with big skewers of different selections of meat to carve for us table-side. We were enamored by the gorgeous Feijoada bar options - we took some salami/prosciutto, roasted cauliflower, salad, corn, peppers, etc - we had to stop ourselves short remembering that this would just fill us up before the meat came. Waiters also came around offering some mashed potatoes, fried polenta and platanos, and their famous Pao de Queijo cheese bread which was incredible, arguably better than any restaurant bread I have had; yes even better than Red Lobster's rolls. The star of the show was obviously the meat. Every single option they gave us was fantastic. From roasted chicken, lamb, ribeye, parmesan crusted chicken, linguica, we were amazed at the smoky richness that each subsequent meat offered to our palate. However, the Picanha top sirloin illustrated why it is by far the favorite for Brazilian bbq. The balance of fattiness and meatiness had us asking for 2 more servings after our first try - it was that good. I honestly could come back and ONLY have picanha and be very satisfied. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, and our concerns were not handled professionally. When we asked to speak with the manager, we waited at least 15 minutes before she came to our table. Unfortunately, when she did arrive, she was dismissive and seemed unwilling to listen to our concerns. As someone who works in customer service, I found this especially disappointing. The food quality was also far below expectations. The meal lacked freshness, was poorly prepared, and certainly did not justify the price. Even more concerning, several members of our party became ill afterward, and we believe it may have been related to the meat, which was served unusually cold and appeared undercooked. While writing this review, we also noticed several other reviews describing similar experiences with poor service and guests becoming sick after dining here, which made our experience even more concerning. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes meaningful improvements to both the quality of the food and the level of customer service. Nice ambiance and tasty food, but management needs to do better with front of house training. We came in as a party of six and our reservation was at 6:30 and we arrived at 6:17 last night (4/25/26). Right when we walked in, the hostess gave my wife an odd look. After we mentioned our reservation time, we all had the feeling like she was very unpleasant or unhappy with her job the way she said the table was not ready yet and they were still preparing it. We get it, it was busy and a hectic saturday night. We didnt think much of it and was more focus on my father in law trying to maneuver around with a walker. Once seated, our server seemed new but was at least polite. However, plates kept piling up. We tried to flag him down three times and he said he would come back but never cleared them. We got water refills about three times over the two hours we were there, which was fine, but the bigger issue was space. We ordered bottles of wine, cocktails, and dessert, so we were there for a while, but the table was never managed properly. When the seafood tower and bone marrow came out, we really had no room left. We asked one of the guys who were cleaning up the table next to us if we could place dishes on the empty table there for now and he said yes, so we moved a couple plates. Then the same hostess came over and approached my wife in an aggressive tone, saying, "If you want us to take the plates, just let us know because we have to get this table ready for the next guests!," while shaking her head, rolling her eyes and reluctantly removing the plates. The energy felt like being talked down to like a strict teacher talking to a kid. I understand they need to turn tables and keep things moving, but the way it was handled came off a little rude and unnecessary. At the time my wife decided to let it go, but after we talked about it, it definitely affected the experience. Throughout the night it was a little noticeable she kept coming by to check if we were done, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. If you skip alcohol and just order the single cut (which includes the market table) the experience typically lands around $50_65 for one person. One notable tip: go on weekends between 11:00 PM and 2:00 PM which offers the brunch experience. In my opinion, the best. To start, I recommend ordering sparkling water (or regular water if you prefer). Even the smallest of details stand out -- the glasses, plates, and utensils all match the quality of the food. Next is the Market Table. I begin with prosciutto or bacon, along with some cheese or bread. From there, you can explore a variety of options -- fresh vegetables, fruits, soups, and salads. One item I highly recommend is the fruit and yogurt parfait. Certain locations also offer freshly made waffles and omelets, which are worth trying. Once you sit down with your selections of food, the staff brings around Brazilian cheese bread and sweet plantains -- both highlights of the experience, specifically the cheese bread. After finishing with your starters, the main event begins. Servers come around with freshly cut beef. When Fogo de Chao Brazilian steakhouse with one of my dinner groups this week and had a great time seeing all my buddies. The food was actually really good. I declined the salad bar and I also declined the steak but what I did enjoy was the Branzino and the lamb chops, which were served with a little mint jelly on the side. I'd recommend this location if you know what you like the Brazil came out excellent And I also enjoyed a couple of old fashions which were really good as well. That's what Fogo De Chao is... Meat lovers and seafood lovers heaven. I visited Fogo de Chao yesterday to celebrate my husbands birthday. Our party of 4 had reservations for 12:30 PM and they were aware it was his birthday. We were promptly seated. The server acknowledged his birthday and said he would receive a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal. We placed our cocktail orders, a bottle of wine and the full Churasco experience and told her we wanted the meat medium rare. After that, we never saw our server again! The meat began arriving, most of it well done. When we told the gaucho we wanted medium rare he said they were being cooked and would be out in 10-15 minutes. Some meat then arrived cooked properly, but most was still well done. Never were we asked if we'd like to order more cocktails or wine. Never were we asked if we'd like to order dessert. And there was never a complimentary birthday dessert. When we were done, we were unable to get the attention of anyone so we could pay. I had to ask 3 times. Finally, I got up and asked the host for the bill, told her were were not having good service. She said she would look for our server. Again we had to wait. We came to Fogo de Chão for brunch to celebrate a Virgo birthday (actually three Virgos in our party) and while some parts of the experience were enjoyable, others left us disappointed. The Market Table was the highlight. It was colorful, fresh, and overflowing with options like fruit, salads, charcuterie, salmon, and prosciutto. The lamb and picanha steak were absolutely delicious, and the pão de queijo (cheese bread) plus yucca fries were also big hits at our table. My tip is that you need to go to the Market Table with a plan, because if you don't you will get overwhelmed and end up full of random choices that may not even be worth it. Unfortunately, the cocktail experience fell flat. I ordered a Bloody Mary that came with tequila instead of vodka, and it was easily the worst I have ever had. For th cost, it lacked the lemon, lime, and extra olives I asked for, and I could not even drink it. Service was another weak spot. While our server was pleasant, the gauchos (meat servers) did not pay close attention to the service disks. We often had to flag them down when our disks were green, and when our disks were red they still approached us with meat. For a place charging $80 to $100 per person, I expected more polished and attentive service. At the end of the day, the food quality was good, but the service and drink experience did not live up to the special occasion or the high price point. Last time we came for their Churrasco where we stuffed ourselves with all kinds of grilled meats. This time, we decided to try the rest of the menu. We tried the Chilled Lobster and Shrimp platter as our appetizer. The Roasted Bone Marrow (so good). And finally, the Dry-aged Tomahawk Ancho (ribeye). It was more than enough for two adults and a 13 year old. We had a giant "doggy bag" to take home. My dog was thrilled with the tomahawk bone. We arrived at 2pm just as they shifted from lunch menu to dinner (recommend coming at 1:30 or 1:45 to take advantage of the price delta). Service was a bit lacking as there was a shift change. Hands down one of the best places to host a private event. Combine the delicious market buffet offerings with exceptional service, with a fully stocked bar what more can you ask for? I hosted two weekday corporate events here at the Emeryville location. I coordinated my events with Scarlett, who was super responsive with a keen eye to detail, was by far one of the best planned events I've hosted. Again, service by the managers Mauricio and staff were exceptional. What I liked most: the market buffet had everything I love on my plate. From hearts of palm to the carefully curated charcuterie selection, I was in heaven. Then the meats came out. From the sirloin to the beef rib, you literally cannot ask for more. Yikes - another disappointing experience. Yesterday was our third time here and 5 of us ended up sick (V and D). On top of that, the service was extremely slow even though there were so many staff walking around and the restaurant was half empty. My family are pretty fast eaters and not super talkative, even with a large group we're always done eating between 1.5-2 hours max. We ended up stuck at the restaurant for almost 3 hours! Our reservation wasn't updated properly so we had to wait for them to adjust the table. Then half of our waters were never filled so we had to wait and ask for it. Throughout service, our waters were never refilled until the very end. We never got the meat sign, table bread, or sauces so I had to ask in the middle of eating when somebody realized. The meat came out steadily for the first 15 mins or so but then completely stopped and then once in a while one person would come around. Once in a while when our server finally came around we'd ask for things like a glass for the beer (which was inconsistent, one server would bring a bottle with no glass and somebody else would bring a bottle with a glass) but it would take so long! For large groups they need to have one dedicated server or multiple servers assisting the same tables. Our second experience was decent so we returned for our grandmothers birthday but since the service was so slow AND we got sick, it's not looking like we'll return. read more

Been here a few times and the food itself and the meat servers were great! Main wait staff was not.. barely saw our server after the drinks were served... Had to have 3 different servers bring bread, take out boxes and the check (which took an extra 10 minutes to correct since we were charged for alcohol and desserts that we didn't order)... *Wanted* to order dessert but was never offered a menu... The food is excellent at the salad and breakfast buffet! The meats were for the most part great, however some had toooo much salt for me to truly enjoy. I loved the chicken pieces that I ate! They had beautiful wheatgrass shots at the salad bar & all the fruit was top quality. The tables were nicely made up with clothe napkins n we were served water , eventually. There was almost too much seating ... seriously crashed into 2 tables trying to go to the restroom! Was kinda weird for me, but I think I understand they want to make space for a lot of customers? I don't think that's fair for those who made reservations. The service was good, but not great! What was off for me was the servers didn't smile, nor were they attentive. We had to call the manager 2x to order drinks. The restrooms were neglected. Even a stray pill on the floor which eeked me out! Paid parking. read more
