Was just here yesterday afternoon. I used to come here alot and its been awhile. Started off by ordering some sangria but unfortunately they didn't have the ingredients to make it? Ordered a beef rib and filet mignon board. The beef rib was ok and i didnt see any salt on it. The filet mignon came out pretty much rare and i ordered it medium. I told the server and they took it back and returned with it the exact same way. Smh. They took it back one more time and then it looked a bit more cooked but it just tasted horrible, very bloody tasting. The server took if off our tab and was being as helpful as she could've been. If not for her service this review would have been a 1 star. Not returning.

The all day happy hour was a hit. It was a chilly day but we scored a table on Saturday for dinner. The waitress took a while to arrive, but when she did, she was the best. We got the beef ribs, yucca fries, spicy chicken sliders, and lobster cabbage tacos. The medium rib and sliced meat were amazing in taste and portion size. The warm Brazilian bread made me happy. The sliders were unforgettable, unfortunately. But we enjoyed the seafood tacos with sauce on the side. The hot yucca fries with Parmesan were good with the slightly tangy sauce. We also got a 90 calorie passion spritzer that was not bad. And we had leftovers! Would come back

The happy hour at Fogo is severely underrated. A $10 picanha burger w/ polenta fries?! Say no more. The ambiance is great. It's not overly loud and a solid spot to catch a game. I have had excellent service on both of my recent visits here. John does a fantastic job at the bar on the cocktails and goes above and beyond. The $16 Dino rib is another favorite from the bar menu. This is becoming one of my regular spots given the great value and proximity to the theatre.

I think this is the longest time we stayed in a restaurant because of our long wait time to be served the meat :-( Food is good, they have good sides and the place is clean but I just don't feel like it's worth the money we spent bec we did not have our fill... been to several churascaria places & specifically Fogo de Chao in SF, but this one is different

been to here multiple times for the churrasco experience, best of brazil, and all day happy hour. all were great but nothing beats the best of brazil. for $50-$60 you get access to the market table while having a selection of meats to try. i recently just tried their happy hour and will definitely be back for it. although you dont get the fogo experience i think the happy hour is well worth it for $6 a dish, $10 cocktails, and $8 for beer/wine.

We visited Fogo de Chão expecting the advertised $49 all-you-can-eat special, only to learn it's not available at California locations. Instead, we paid about $80 per adult. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and we were seated immediately. However, the service was disappointing. I asked multiple times for the queijo com mel and was repeatedly told it would be out soon, but it didn't arrive until we were already full and ready to leave. My kids also had a hard time getting more than a piece or two of grilled pineapple at a time. The salad bar was just okay, and the meat selection felt limited compared to other Brazilian steakhouses. I missed seafood options like grilled shrimp, and my husband was disappointed there were no chicken hearts. For the price, we expected much more. We prefer Galpão Gaúcho in Walnut Creek, which offers better service, more variety, and a better overall experience.

Came here with a few coworkers who were in town for a team offsite. They were craving steak, and since there weren't many options near our hotel, we decided to check this place out. We weren't quite hungry enough to do AYCE, so we ordered à la carte instead. We went with the lobster and shrimp tower appetizer, dry-aged tomahawk, lobster mac and cheese, and yuca fries. Surprisingly, the lobster mac and cheese completely stole the show--it was the standout dish of the night. The tomahawk was good and cooked perfectly, with great quality meat. I just wish it was seasoned a bit more. They do provide salt and chimichurri sauce, but it still felt like it was missing that extra something flavor-wise. And don't skip the complimentary cheese bread! It comes out warm and is absolutely delicious. Definitely ask for butter--we couldn't stop eating these, lol. Overall, it was a nice meal, plenty of food, and we even had leftovers. If you're really hungry, I'd recommend going for the full experience so you can enjoy the salad bar too.

Had a group brunch there today. The restaurant is clean and not crowded, salad bar is constantly refreshed, a little sad that near the end of our meal they ran out of dragon fruit and pineapples! I was waiting until the end of the meal to get some . Service for the meat was on the slow side, sirlons and prime ribs were good but the filet mignon was leathery and dry.

Always great place to get your craving a steak fix! Lol You control the flow of incoming food! Live the cheese bread! The also serve polenta stick and mashed potato and fried bananas! We had the our favorite the filet served twice! We also link the lamb chops and lamb picana ! I have been to many other locations and this is one of my favorites ! I will continue to dine at this chain of fine steak offerings!

Is it baby (stroller) friendly? Looking to bring ny 3 months old boy with us

Hmm... Not really. It's not that baby strollers aren't allowed; it's just that the place gets packed and it's a bit of a tight squeeze just to walk through.

Cuál será el precio por persona la entrada?

Depende de lo que consigas, pero alrededor de 50 dólares por la cena

Jamie W and I decided to give this restaurant a try after having had a delightful dinner at Burdell (review: https://yelp.to/FxhL3CmhOt). This one has a more upscale vibe in a cool historic setting, the Oakland Tribune building, but I have to say the execution was mixed. We started with a couple of their house cocktails. Jamie had the $14 Pierre's Margarita with the potent house tequila, triple sec, agave, and lime, while I ordered the puckery sweet $14 Strawberry Drop made with the house vodka, strawberry purée, lemon, and honey (Photo 8). It was a good start but then a long wait for the food. Inexplicably and without apology, all five dishes arrived all at once. Pretty overwhelming. First of all, we wanted to try the $28.50 Oxtail Rasta Pasta, but the server told us they were out. It was only 5:30PM, so we thought that was weak so early in the evening. As an alternative, we were offered a $35 'turf' version of the Rasta Pasta with slices of a medium-rare Ribeye Steak (Photo 7). The penne with jerk-spiced cream and sweet bell peppers was just too rich a bed for an indulgent piece of slightly undercooked meat. Similar in spirit was the $30 Cajun Crab Pappardelle which mixed a rich Creole cream sauce with cracked crab meat and mirepoix (Photo 5). It was another example of a fundamentally tasty dish overcome by muchness. We had marginally better luck with the three appetizers. The heavily dressed $14 Caesar Salad benefited from big toasted croutons (Photo 10). The $18 'Crack' Wings were pretty tasty with the spices and sweet chili sauce (Photo 6). The $15 Crab Fried Rice would've been just fine without the unnecessary topping of shaved Parmesan cheese (Photo 9). It turned out to be a lot of food for the two of us, and had we known how saucy most of the dishes were, we would've cut out at least one or two of the sides. I think they might benefit from Burdell's more economical approach to their dishes where they focus on a unique flavor to make each one more distinctively memorable. FOOD - 3 stars...basically tasty but with too many excessive touches in the execution...and no oxtails at 5:30PM? AMBIANCE - 4 stars...certainly spacious and well appointed for a vintage locale SERVICE - 3 stars...a spirited server but why did all the dishes come out at once?...and what's with not providing dinner napkins? After scoping out the vibes of the place and the menu, I told myself to make sure to give this a shot. The place is in a redeveloped corner of Alameda right next to the bay. Probably used to be Navy base grounds back in the day. But now there's a couple of blocks worth of hip warehouse-y type of buildings, mostly restaurants, beer spots, some lofts and a little retail commerce. Very happening even though the surrounding area is a ghost town. Dining area not too big, maybe a couple of rooms that can hold about 20-30 heads each. Think there's another room for a private party/overflow. Decor pretty minimalist and stark. Service on the upscale side but in my stay, matched the decor, very minimalist and stark. Efficient enough but a little terse with little emotion. But I know service personality can differ from time to time or person to person. Just my obsy for one out. Daily Crudo ($20/4*) I think this rotates daily. Our choices that day was hamachi or a house smoked sturgeon. The sturgeon really piqued my interest but then it really wouldn't be a 'crudo' anymore would it, since I relate crudos to something 'raw-ish'. So I chose the hamachi. Very pretty plating, I love symmetry and balance. The thin slices of hamachi were indeed fresh, sitting in a stealthy pool of yuzu and olive oil. There are some fresno pepper slices and microgreens that garnish and a delicious nori cracker to break and accompany the crudo. This went really well with my glass of Fume Blanc. Caeser ($17/4.5*) We split this salad as their version sounded super cool. A miso-tinged Caeser dressing, lots of rustic garlic croutons and feathery soft grated parm and a soft-boiled egg. I love properly made Caesers and this was one of the best and unique versions I've ever had. The umami punch and the diverse textures just hit with me. A tad salty for a salad, but the crunchy and refreshing lettuce was able to absorb the salt blast. Huge salad too, like ideal for splitting and ridiculously large if for 1. Beef Short Rib ($43/4*) This was on special that night, and since I wasn't feeling Steak Frites (their only other beef entree option) this kinda fell on my lap. Very heavy and hearty dish. The short rib part was impeccable, super tender, gotta be sous vide. Perfectly seasoned with braising elements completely penetrated into the meat. There was a coarse gravy/sauce that covered which was okay, may have been the braising liquid just pureed. Served atop a huge pile of some risotto that I didn't inquire about. This risotto is what made the dish especially heavy. I ate most of it and it put me in a heavy carb coma. Lol. But there was a nice serving of perfectly cooked broccolini which helped balanced out the rich beef and carb heavy risotto. Chocolate Bar ($13/4.5*) Shared this for dessert as I really couldn't take more than just a few bites after the filling entree. But was this impressive, like high end dessert quality. Whoever does the desserts here definitely has some pedigree. The precision cut bar consisted of 3 layers. A brownie layer; a Bailey's mousse; and a salted caramel layer. I was loving the texture of all the different layers playing on one another. And every flavor was distinct without being overly sweet, which hit the right chords with me. A thick ganache garnished off to the side, which was good but just seemed a bit overkill with the already chocolate dominant bar. I think a cream element would have been a better contrast instead of rich chocolate on rich chocolate. But very minor quip on an otherwise skillful dessert. I finished the last few sips of my glass of Rhone with this dessert, and it left me one happy camper. I would definitely return as their style with flavors hits an accord with me. A little French, a smidge of Japanese and a lot of California. Rounding to a fiver, as this place made me more happy than not.

I'm not even kidding. Everything sounded great. The space is really cool as well inside with lots of that local art you know and love in the Oakland area. I ordered a margarita to start. Yum! For apps, we ordered the guac and chips alongside the fried calamari. I partook in the guac and chips, fresh and delish. Calamari was not gfree. For my main entree I split a beet salad with one of my colleagues, I can't say no to a beet salad. Then I ordered the mussels...which were so good. I loved the aioli on the top of the fries. I also had a bite of my colleagues coleslaw...and I will say it was the best non mayo based coleslaw I've ever had! Not kidding! It has red onion, green pepper, and cilantro. For dessert since it's always a must on a biz trip, we ordered crème brûlée and a sorbet. The brulee was as expected and perfect to end the night. Will definitely be back!

I am certain that the shows are astounding, however... Coming here when there's nothing going on gives us all of the attention. :-) Bookie brunch!! We had the frittata sandwich and the truffle Benedict .. the flavors in both of these are indescribable. You simply must experience them both. This was so good that we begged to meet Alessandro, their chef from Italy! A particularly beautiful man, who is ridiculously talented. Every bite was a celebration. But wait, there's more! Lupe!! she greeted us, she was our bartender, our server, and all around just an amazing individual who was running the show. Not to mention, Mixology. Glover margarita, lavender lemon drop, and the mandarin. All three certainly recommendable. Ambiance - a party!! Come with the expectation of a good time. Forgot to take pictures before we dug in but here you go

Good variety of American and Mexican food. They serve brunch too with decent selection of breakfast dishes. Service is OK and can get slow when busy. Parking is at mercy of DT Oakland, somewhat difficult with paid street parking. Flat entry and wide routes inside make it accessible. Great for parties, groups, get to gather for sport events. Big projector screens make it great place for events watching.

A lot more room to sit and finish the food, is available on the second floor. The hanging artwork pieces on the walls are distinctly striking. The menu is stacked with standard bar fare, with pizza, hotdogs, fries, etc. A sizable beer selection that seems to draw in the nightly usuals. The service was not majorly terrible. Some staff members looked rather bored. I didn't order alcohol. I just wanted to eat. I chose a chili cheese dog, which included Garlic fries. I paid $14, after tip. The large portions are appreciated. Really wished it all had been yummy. I can't say that it was tasty, and memorably delicious. It looked more appetizing than it actually tasted. Which is not great. The chili was not flavorful, and it was almost cold. Not warmed up first, just slapped on top of the dog. Which made for a strange eating experience. Normally the chili is the hottest part of that particular item. A toasted bun (which is preferable) may have made a difference. The dog itself wasn't terrible. The fries were attractive. I'm into the shoestring potatoes. I was not wowed when it came to the taste. Not a huge deal. I probably should've ordered a slice of pizza, which they may be kind of popularly known for. When I am near, in downtown Oakland, I can do a round 2. They stay open really late. I was eyeballing the garlic knots, with a side of marinara. That probably would've been a hit with me or better yet the Mozz sticks. I love those.

They are all young, which is very good and positive that they are working, but some other servers needed to be a lot more presentable. Some of them needed to speak a little better and not be in the front diddling around and talking! this is still a business and it's still a restaurant and it's still your job; you never know who is walking into your establishment!!! you should always keep things professional just because you feel like it's black owned establishment and the customers are primarily African-American, with the exception of some other nationalities; doesn't mean you act urban ! We did ask what came in their spike Kool-Aid came and our waitress said I don't know some Drank ? What? Why don't you know this you work here? I asked one of the other servers about the eggrolls and it took him about three minutes to answer. I'm like are they chicken shrimp pork all servers should know the menu and drink selections Conclusion : the owner is very sweet her story and the history was informative! Music was good ; The food was pretty good. Everything had decent amount of flavor . I would definitely downsize on the chicken wings. Those things are huge! ( steroid chicken) but overall I would visit again tighten up on the servers professionalism! Happy I was able to support this black own business and I think you guys should definitely give it a try it's worth going it's pricey, but that's understandable running a restaurant is hard and expensive! I was surprised that the food was as good as it was, but it actually was!

My partner ordered the chicken breast that came with a sort gravy on top with a side potato purée. I ordered the filet mignon with potato purée that was loaded with bacon, chives, sour cream and blue cheese. Both of our orders came with a sparse selection of 3-4 stalks of asparagus that had some yellowish color. It didn't have the freshest taste. My filet mignon was rather small in size, not much flavor and the potato puree could be something better when made at home (I.e. nothing outstanding). The calamari and gnocchi appetizers were OK but not more elevated than what we could get at a conventional diner. The presentation was somewhat reminiscent of cafeteria food. We were disappointed though still finished our meal. The atmosphere at CK is lit just right for romance without being too dark, completely clean, relaxed yet unsurprisingly quite empty for a Saturday night. The value of the meal was not reflective of the high rating that attracted us to CK in the first place. We likely will pay what we did for a better overall dinner experience elsewhere and consider trying out CK for brunch.
