Not much to say. Seated at the bar and got to chat with the bartenders. Overall, a good experience for a quick catch up session with friends. Loved the dim but still casual vibe.

Made reservations for a Friday night at 7:30pm and came in at 7:27pm, and they were wrapping up with a table, so we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant was busy and had indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and the decorations were aesthetically pleasing with the fake plants and the green color furniture. My friend & I ordered: -House Made Focaccia (SO delicious! It was a bit oily but really good with the butter and garlic) -Butter Poached Steak (it was good, but I do recommend to eat it right away before it gets cold. Wish the piece was a bit bigger! The potato was really good) -Fresh Pasta (yummy) -Roasted Cauliflower (the cauliflower was fine but the romesco sauce was delicious and made it taste more flavorful) -Dashe: both red & white wine. I got the white wine and it was refreshing and nice. Service was good. Overall, food was tasty and it is a nice date spot. There is a large parking lot outside.

The best food in Alameda! My fiancé and I are regulars at Saltbreaker, usually stopping in every other week and it's easily one of our favorite spots. Some of our go-to menu items are the focaccia, cheese soufflé, cast iron chicken, steak frites, and the cheesecake. We love sitting at the bar enjoying a drink made by the best bartender on the island, Mike. Wishing they would bring back our favorite drink, Mike's Negroni! We recently booked the annex to host our engagement party for about 30 guests, and the experience was fantastic. The service from Emily and Cam was amazing from start to finish, and we received so many compliments from our friends and family about the food and overall atmosphere. It was the perfect way to kick off the year and celebrate our engagement. Highly recommend Saltbreaker for both casual dining and special occasions.

Visited on a Wednesday night around 6pm, walked in with no reservation and was able to grab a seat at the bar without a wait. Drink: Freezer martini - good, was a prebatched cocktail but tasted balanced and clean, served nice and cold with olives Food: Mushroom Wellington - good, crisp flakey pastry with a variety of mushrooms inside. Served with a variety of vegetables and garnished with pork belly, portion size is a bit small Served was fine, staff seemed pretty knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and food arrived fairly quickly. Water was refilled throughout the meal. Overall enjoyed saltbreaker, a nice upscale dinner spot in Alameda. Menu had a nice variety, worth a try if you're in the area.

Great ambience and delicious food make this spot a standout for a relaxed outing. The portions are on the smaller side and a bit pricey, but the flavors definitely deliver. It's a great place to hang out and enjoy good company. The crowd tends to be older, so it's not the most family-friendly environment, but perfect for an adults' night out.

Highly recommend getting a reservation! We didn't have one but were able to get seated at the communal table. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait too long. I don't mind communal tables but there was maybe just one too many chairs there. I was asked to move down by one of the servers because another customer had the table leg between his legs but I couldn't move more than an inch because there was another party on our other end. Our group was seated in the middle of the table so on one side we had to maneuver between guests and the wall to get to our seats which was pretty cramped. Just something to keep in mind about the communal table. It could get you a seat but it's not the most convenient.

Saltbreaker has become one of our favorite dinner places in Alameda. We came in during Alameda restaurant week recently, and enjoyed the food so much that we've returned several times since. The menu is pescatarian-friendly, which is a huge plus for me. We order the smoked trout rillette every time. Their fresh pasta is also delicious. I definitely want to try the whole branzino one of these days. The service is attentive and refined. The ambiance is classy and upscale but unpretentious. Highly recommend getting a resie, it does get busy. Happy to have this place on the island.

Came here for a late lunch with a friend. Ordered a burger with fries and chicken wings to share along with drinks. Attentive service and good food. I usually do not eat burgers but their burgers are juicy and good. Always a plus when I have thin French fries that are crispy and moist inside. Their chicken wings are also very delicious. Crispy and juicy. It came with a few dipping sauce to go with it. Overall, food is good and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

This restaurant is located in a converted factory, and the vibe is really impressive. The service was excellent, and every dish had its own unique character. I ordered a steak and a pasta dish. The portions were on the smaller side, but the steak was tender and flavorful, while the pasta had a light, refreshing vegetable aroma that really set it apart from your typical pasta. The flavors were noticeably different in a good way. For dessert, the cheesecake was hands down the best I've had in the Bay Area. Expect to spend around $90 per person. Definitely recommended for those who appreciate refined, high-quality cuisine.

Drinks were good and the food was solid across the board. You'll either need a reservation or end up at the communal table, which is actually a fun setup. We tried the pork, beef, and chicken, all cooked well, though the beef was definitely the standout. Prices felt reasonable for the quality. The waitress was great and didn't try to upsell anything. Drinks were unique but tasted good. Service: Friendly, attentive, and not pushy Food/Drinks: Pork, beef, and chicken all cooked well with beef as the standout, drinks were creative and balanced Ambiance: Warm and social space with fun communal seating 8/10 Great food, solid drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere make this a strong choice for dinner

My friend and I had an amazing lunch outside at salt breaker started with a fabulous artesian cocktail That was lovely boozy and delicious It was cold so they put a heater next to our table and brought us lovely blankets to stay warm and we enjoyed our drinks The smash burgers were so yummy and fries with parsley and garlic not too much just enough for flavor We will be back maybe on a warmer day Side note the restrooms were so lovely and clean Thanks for a lovely expe

Another gem on the old naval base in Alameda! This place is bigger than you think with all the outdoor seating. This is the go to place for whatever you fancy, whether it's outdoors picnic with kids or romantic dinner for 2, this place has you covered! Both food and drink menus are elevated to keep your pinky finger pointed to the sky. Solid!

I admittedly arrived around 5:15pm on a Saturday and they close at 6pm, so it was the last hour of service. Nonetheless, the arrival started off good with a server greeting me and my partner before we sat down. We used the QR code to place our order which conveniently had a lot of check box options to customize our orders. I got a smash burger and substituted a vegan beyond patty. According to their menu, the smash burger comes with special sauce, cheese, red onions, bacon, lettuce, mustard, and pickles. I customized mine to have no bacon, no cheese, and no mustard, and for the pickle to be on the side. The smash burger I got was not what I ordered. It was a sad, small burger, with very little sauce and by that I mean practically none, barely any lettuce, and they did not give me red onions or a pickle. I was immediately disappointed when it arrived at my table and my partner insisted we say something because the order was incorrect and it was $28 for the burger and side of fries. We had also ordered drinks which were good but expensive. After my partner talked to a server and cashier, they just said "we will check to see what your order was." The server came back to our table, did not apologize or anything and just said "yeah we looked at your order and this is exactly it." I couldn't believe what they said and took a minute to process before I responded with no it's not, that's the whole point why I said something. I told them there is very little sauce and no onions. I forgot to mention that there was no pickle either, but that was another thing wrong. The server offered to remake it or just bring me out the missing sides. I was annoyed, they were about to close, and at this point I knew I would not be coming back and I was hungry so I accepted them just bringing out sides. They brought out white onions, not red onions, and a side of sauce. Thinking about this whole experience from the service, lack of apology and accountability, mid food, small portions, and overpriced menu, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It's a longtime local favorite of mine and my go-to spot for meeting up with friends--equal parts escape and comfort. The cocktail menu is impressively deep, full of beautifully crafted, fancy tiki drinks that practically beg to be explored, and so far every single one I've tried has been delicious (dangerously so). Inside, the bar nails the classic tiki vibe--warm, immersive, and transportive--while the outdoor patio offers a lovely, relaxed option with plenty of extra seating on warm days. Everybody was dressed for the occasion and some of them were pretty cool like the guy in a trash bag with a ''white trash'' sign around his neck, the couple dressed an glow in the dark stick men and Jesus. Some were a little weird and confusing too.. like the couple dressed as Santa and a little girl complete with Teddy Bear. Actually, that was a little creepy... There were a few duplicate costumes - 2 Batman's, 2 Superman's and dozens of Pirates and Pirate Wenches which I think stood for about 35% of the people in attendance I was however surprised to see Hubby and I as the only Marvel characters and completely ironic having 2 British people dressed as Captain America. Drinks and food was available at the concessions stands as well as a small store selling TShirts, Guitar picks and various other nik naks that was located towards the back of the ship and a flight simulator near the main dance floor which was $6 per person. Awesome ship, Great costumes and fun night = A good start to the Halloween festivities.

The USS Hornet has it's separate Yelp review already. However, I write this review specifically for…read morethe Halloween Monster Bash they hold every single year. This was my first time attending. There were plenty of parties around the Bay Area, but this was the only one that catered to those UNDER 21. This was perfect as I wanted to be able to have fun with other family friends who were not over 21. I looked EVERYWHERE, for prior reviews to give us an idea of what to expect, but was unsuccessful. So hopefully this review will help potential attendees in the future. The general admission tickets for adults 18+ is $20 presale, and $25 at the door. For kids/teens up to 17 is only $10 presale AND at the door. Keep in mind this is pricing for 2010. It might change next year. Parking is FREE, and there is plenty, so do not worry about anything with that. The $25 price tag was exactly WHY I wanted to read reviews, because there is no refunds (like most). We said what the heck and went for it. As mentioned parking was easy and free. The USS Hornet if you don't already know is a huge naval ship that served in 3 wars. The venue is ON THE SHIP! How can you beat that! The ship is docked and stationary so do not worry about getting seasick. You do not feel any swaying at all. You have to walk a good amount of steps to get to the floor where the venue is held at. This is a HUGE ship, so there is an assigned section. For disabled and handicaps, I did not see it, but there were a few there, so they should have special accommodations. Once we get to the designated area, the place is HUGE and ROOMY. It's a long wide corridor. There are some classic aviation vehicles that guests can admire. There was a good amount of people, but you never feel overcrowded because this space can house many comfortably. I need to commend the entire staff aboard the USS Hornet, the older staff members, perhaps veterans, were absolutely nice. They always greet you with a smile. How is the crowd? Although it is for all ages, the younger audience is the minority. There are a good handful of kids, but this is clearly an adult event. They have a section for kids that included skeeball, whack'a'mole, tv with a movie playing, air hockey table, face painting, and other activities. Everyone dresses up! From mild to wild. You will see a variety of different costumes. The crowd is diverse, old to young. There are a few who don't dress up, but they were definitely the minorities. There is haunted "house" type of attraction included with your entrance. This was probably the most disappointing. You walk through a lower corridor medical hanger, decorated as a haunted version. But there were little to no scares. The scares consisted of yelling at you surprisingly to try and catch you by surprise. It was a waste of space, because once you see what they can work with, they definitely could make an outstanding haunted tour with genuine scares. Good effort though. The main event, is the music and dancing. From open to 12AM, you have a live band performing. This year it was the Crazy Monkeys. They were great, they played popular songs of old and new. They sounded really well and got the audience into it. After 12AM, you have a DJ in the mix. He played some good mash ups. It ends at 2AM! For those under 21, this really gives you a great place to get the clubbing experience. They have an outside area, but ONLY for smoking, which is ashame because for those who don't smoke who want to get some fresh air and take some night time views of the bay, have to suffer inhaling the smoke. There are plenty of tables setup behind the dance floor. Food is also sold here. It's about average price for this type of venue. There is also a bar so you can order your alcoholic beverages. As of this year, purchasing drinks and food requires CASH ONLY. Maybe a big deal to others so plan ahead. In conclusion, I have to give this a perfect score. This is only one of it's kind event where those under 21 can enjoy a clubbing type of Halloween Party. i would definitely come back for next year.

Review is for the London Bus Burger, Louie Louie (soft-shelled crab) and onion rings! The Bureau 510 gets their burgers right: lightly seasoned, not overly handled so you can feel the wonderful texture along with some major juiciness. Also a big plus is their meat-to-bun ratio so you get a nice bite of burger with the sturdy yet soft bun. The Louie Louie looked amazing. My 2 friends ordered that and devoured. It was lightly battered, not greasy and a nice size. Onion rings were house-made and equally light with a beer batter. Delicious! Staff very welcoming, friendly and checked on us a couple of times. Menu has plenty of options to choose from. The Bureau 510 did a great job (has me craving more!) this visit so will definitely return to try items like the fish and chips, clam chowder and Chef Specials. Pricing is in line with other like places. Plenty of metered street parking. Another location in Emeryville I'll need to check out :)

The brunch crowd is really chill and the ambience is lovely! We shared all of the food we chose. We even split a mushroom sandwich into four pieces! The coffees were awesome! We ordered four different ones, so we could try a majority of the menu choices! The main dish I ordered was Tiradito Maracuyá (Flambéed ahi tuna, passion fruit sauce, avocado, cilantro, corn). That was so good! I noticed that I didn't talk a lot during the brunch cause I was busy eating everything! The desserts- Alfajores Soft cookies filled with dulce de leche. Made by Fabiola. El Turrón Anise cheesecake topped with golden anise sauce and Peruvian candies. The owner gave us an extra piece! Because we had to go to an event, we boxed an extra piece of El Turrón and all the cookies! After the event was over, when are my friends and I went walking around Lake Merritt, sat down, and ate the rest of the desserts! I really love the food and I loved that the dishes are so shareable! I know I'm going come back for dinner with the friend that recommended this place because he said the dinner menu is even more bomb!

We tried as many different dishes as we could including the Cremoso Ceviche, Yucca Fries, Papa à la Huancaina, Coliflor, Conchitas à la Parmesana, Chicken Empanada, and Chuletas. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be going back for more! The House Pisco Sour was delicious and the El Picaro was very unique. We also ordered an off menu spicy margarita that was to die for. The owner/host and our server were kind and efficient. Everything came out quickly and hot. Absolutely amazing all around! Definitely recommend giving it a try.

You definitely feel 10 degrees cooler in here. From the dark moody lighting, tons of vinyl on the wall, beautiful people, everything was stunning. Drinks were great and there was so many to choose from. I can't remember the drink I got but it was served up in a cute glass and was delicious. The DJ was fantastic and played a ton of old and new school hits. I think this qualifies as a "listening bar" so cool. Totally great trip to Bar shiru! I will, without a doubt, be back.

I ordered moonglow not knowing it's a very intense drink, so had to order actual proof as backup. They're very accommodating and can make any drink sweeter, so I opted for that. Actual proof is very refreshing with a nice citrus flavor! It seemed to be a popular drink since other folks also ordered it. Moonglow has a lot of complexity to it, and it's concentrated (no ice). Lucky spring was very citrus forward with some bitter notes, but we couldn't taste the guava. We also got free pretzels to munch on! This spot makes great cocktails and they also have a sister bar and restaurant called golden palm nearby. Worth trying this spot for good vibes and delicious drinks!
