The Bureau 510 is a hidden gem in Alameda serving various burgers, gourmet sandwiches (soft shelled crab!), fish and chips, salads and a few Chef Specials of Thai, Korean and Japanese dishes. Review is for the London Bus Burger, Louie Louie (soft-shelled crab) and onion rings! The Bureau 510 gets their burgers right: lightly seasoned, not overly handled so you can feel the wonderful texture along with some major juiciness. Also a big plus is their meat-to-bun ratio so you get a nice bite of burger with the sturdy yet soft bun. The Louie Louie looked amazing. My 2 friends ordered that and devoured. It was lightly battered, not greasy and a nice size. Onion rings were house-made and equally light with a beer batter. Delicious! Staff very welcoming, friendly and checked on us a couple of times. Menu has plenty of options to choose from. The Bureau 510 did a great job (has me craving more!) this visit so will definitely return to try items like the fish and chips, clam chowder and Chef Specials. Located on the busy webster st, parking is always hard to find. We managed to find something a block or two away in a residential neighborhood. We were seated right away, no wait. Came in today with my husband and we got burgers (mine was a beyond burger), beer, onion rings, parm fries and a lychee martini. So absolutely delicious, everything. And the servers were sweet and prompt. I wish I wasn't so hungry that I skipped taking pictures because everything was literally perfect. The lychee martini had two peeled lychee fruits on a garnish stick which was such a nice touch. My husband is picky with restaurants and he rated them a 9/10. This is a quaint little burger place. They do serve lots of other things too though. The NFL game was playing so that was nice to be able to sit and eat while watching. The service was fast. We got greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger and it was probably the juiciest burger I've had in a really long time! For the sides that accompanied my burger I chose Parmesan fries (I would have liked more Parmesan flavor in them as it was on the lighter side) and coleslaw (so delish I could have eaten an entire bowl of it). I don't eat fish but I appreciate their variety of fish option. They were nice enough to allow me to substitute chicken on the salmon blue cheese salad, and they didn't over charge me. It was an amazing salad. My favorite part was they didn't use any ice berg lettuce. It was a similar to a Cobb salad but with green leaf, red leaf and arugula lettuce. Perfection. I ate every bite. I visited Bureau 510 multiple times during a work trip to Alameda. As a vegetarian I was really excited to see many options on the menu. You could sub almost any sandwich with a beyond burger or tofu. Both times I ended up getting the Coop de Ville but with a beyond burger. The flavors that paired together in the sandwich were absolutely delicious. I also got parmesan fries on the side which were crisp and delicious. They also provide you with a spicy aioli sauce which was yummy and not too spicy. My friends ended up trying some of the other meat based dishes (BLT and a Chicken Bureau) and they all were very happy with their food as well. The servers were all very nice and the food came out promptly. The interior was clean and relaxed, and was a little reprieve from the busy street outside. Myself and my team (Inmotion: Electric Unicycle) came to this after a hard day of working at an event near by; Electrify Expo. This place was able to have 12 ppl as well. The food looked great. I ordered a kids grilled cheese with fruit (kind of wish they added a variety of fruit instead off just one fruit to which was blueberries). It was also supposed to come with an apple juice and unfortunately did not get it. Most order different burgers and everyone told me they loved how it was cooked. Many also go fries on the side. I've been a fan of this place for quite some time. While I haven't tried most of the menu from the things I have tried its amazing. My personal favorite is the "chicken katsu curry" its so good that i cant stop ordering it and its preventing me from trying anything else. Other than the food the staff is very nice and welcoming. We had some really good burgers here awhile ago. I've only been once. Service was also friendly and efficient. The only thing that was off-putting for me was the extremely strong smell of ammonia. It's like we came in right after a deep cleaning. I'm not sure if that's the norm for this spot or if it just happened to be that day, but it detracted from the dining experience because my tastebuds are very strongly affected by smells. The fish were smaller fillets- I'm use to big chunks of fish. Homemade tartar sauce was good! I usually hate tartar sauce bc other establishments put onions and I hate onions. Came here and it was pretty empty when we walked in, then a few different parties came in after. The ambiance was a bit quiet and chill in the beginning. Got a little louder with the additional parties, but was never super loud by any means. I would always see this restaurant when taking my Maltese to the groomers at Under One Woof a couple blocks away. I was having a business lunch in the area and decided to give this place a try. We had a great experience. I had the burger and added a side of fries (which was Ala carte). It was delicious. My manager had the fish and chips. My husband and I had dinner here on Sunday and had a great experience and really good food. My husband had their cheeseburger and it was perfectly cooked to order. I had their Chick'N Bureau sandwich with a side of Parmesan fries we shared. The fries were very tasty and shoestring-style (the best!). The chicken sandwich had a perfect piece of fried chicken on it and the gochujang based sauce is *chef's kiss *. Service here was great - our server was friendly and attentive and the manager even came to say hello and see how we were enjoying the food. My husband couldn't believe how they'd transformed this location into such a clean and modern spot as the last time he'd been here it was a rather dingy bar. When I saw they had a vegan pozole on the menu I knew exactly what I had to order... and wow I was super impressed by the layers of flavor and the perfectly cooked creamy hominy. Call me a new Regular (5/5 Stars) One of my new favorite spots in Alameda! I came here twice in a week for lunch. This place used to be a Vietnamese restaurant, but now they serve a delightful variety of food. I initially saw a friend post about their Fish and Chips. Although I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips, I decided to check this place out. When I walked in and saw their menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find a fusion of dishes to choose from. The Asian in me couldn't resist going for a rice plate with fried chicken. I ordered the Hatyai Fried Chicken, and it was a delicious combination of crispy fried chicken served with sticky rice, roti, curry, and a sweet & sour sauce. The flavors were incredible, and the dish was absolutely amazing! The portion was generous, and I ended up taking home half of my plate. Two days later, I returned to try what I had originally come for--the Fish & Chips. WOW. Just wow! The portion was huge, but it tasted so good that I ate it all in one sitting. We came here on a whim Monday night and were blown away by the place. We anticipated that it was just a "burger place" but it is more than that. The menu is surprisingly diverse with burger supported by Asian fare and a good selection of beer, sake, and unique cocktails. First time here thanks to my Yelp community. Mom and I came together and both enjoyed our food. Mom got the BLT with parmesan fries and after 2 bites, said she would definitely come back. I got the BBB burger with the beyond patty, no bacon, no lettuce and OMG, I will for sure order it again. I got the onion rings which were also delicious but would order the parmesan fries next time as they were very good. The atmosphere is very casual and staff very pleasant. Bureau 510 seemed relatively new to this neighborhood. I never noticed it before, but came across it while browsing through Yelp for dinner options. I made a reservation the morning of just in case there was going to be a wait, but it seemed like reservations aren't necessary yet. We came here on a Friday night, around 6-7PM, and there was a few tables filled. Maybe Bureau 510 is relatively new, or competition is higher around this area, not quite sure. It's almost got a diner style vibe to it, but not quite. A bit unique. I came with my partner and he wasn't hungry, but he ended up ordering a Belgian Waffle With Vanilla Gelato as a small bite. Happy hour was up till 6:30PM, so I was able to squeeze in a Blackberry Mojito. I also opted for the Louie, Louie! with a side salad for an additional $3.50. I'm not much of a drinker, so I'm not quite sure how good the Blackberry Mojito is compared to other Mojitos. The initial taste is fine, but I can only describe the after-taste a bit like medicine. My partner thinks it may have been the taste of whatever sweetener they may have used in the drink. As for my Louie, Louie, it was quite loaded! A big sandwich, but not too heavy. The Louie, Louie comes with fried soft shell crab, butter lettuce, avocado, alfalfa, louie dressing, on ACME bun. It's not heavy, but kind of filling because of how big the bun is. They give a good portion of all the ingredients, so I'd say it's well proportioned. It's good, but not amazing. I thought the fried soft shell crab chunks had a bit too much flour on the outside. I liked the addition of alfalfa, but I think it's missing a bit of a refreshing aspect to offset the fried parts. My partner enjoyed his Belgian Waffle With Vanilla Gelato. He commented that the Gelato was good! Service was nice and friendly. We were checked on a couple times, but dinner was fairly quick. Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Burger meat seemed great - pass on the fish and chips. $1.39 credit card fee seemed cheap. My fish and chips were good. The meat quality wasn't anything special and I'm sure I could pull something out of the freezer at home and it would be just as good. I think one of the biggest problems is I compare it to The Sports Page in Brooks, CA and compared to that the whole dish fell flat. I had a taste of the burger. The meat on the burgers was above average. It was cooked medium and was tender and juicy. Burger flavor was great but for a couple dollars more I prefer Scolaries. The bun was ok and butter lettuce fresh but the restaurant I mentioned above, The Sportspage, puts together a much nicer burger with toasted bun and even stamped with their logo. Service was good - two guys working there were efficient. Very pleasant personalities. The atmosphere was good. It was even beautifully decorated for Christmas - but I need either tall ceilings or windows - I don't think this place had either. If I remember right there were standard height eight feet ceilings and for me its tough to be in a space like that since I'm used to living in Victorians with 10 foot ceilings. When I walked in the first thing I noticed about the restaurant is that it smelled like an old historic building. I prefer when I walk into a restaurant that it smells like nothing or has intense aroma from fresh food being cooked. I think one of the many reasons I keep going back to Famous Daves is the nice BBQ smoke that lures you in from the parking lot and gets you in the food eating mood. I had a hot tea. I didn't notice many no caffein no sugar options. I've been off alcohol no for a week and maybe that was what was wrong with my whole experience. Great addition to Alameda's West End! Traditional comfort fare in a cute and comfortable setting. Family owned. We shared the Good Morning burger, and it was bomb. The burger comes with a side of coleslaw, which I love. The parmesan fries were perfect, best fries I've had in a minute. They have a good beer selection, and sake-based cocktails. I had the lychee martini, ordered it less sweet because I don't like sugary cocktails, and the gentleman made it perfectly for my taste. I do hope they mix up the tunes a bit to something less old-school, and more modern and unce-unce-y, but that's just my personal preference, lol. They have another location in Emeryville. Happened to be in the West End and thought we would give it a try. My partner just came off a 5 week pescatarian trial and needed some real food, like a burger. We split the Good Morning burger. Had Parmesan fries and cole slaw with it. It was an excellent burger. Great beer selection, decent wines and sake based cocktails. They had Anchor Porter in the bottle and since they still may be going out of business (Anchor) I had to have one, actually 2. I rarely drink beer no days since it's just liquid carbs but oh so good.
