Such a cool Alameda bar with tons of vintage decor and fun games like skee-ball, pinball, pool, and even a photo booth tucked in the back. There's also a nice patio hidden behind the building that makes it a great hangout spot. They offer food from the restaurant but next door and an easy kiosk to send a mobile order. I have been going to Lucky 13 for years, sometimes weekly on Sundays after chores and it is a great place to hang out (especially Halloween but really anytime), see people you know, you will get it know, and feel relaxed. Our group of around 20 came in on a Saturday afternoon and the bartender, Kris worked his magic to get us all drinks and get them out quickly. I was annoying and asked for specialty cocktails for my two drinks, and Kris was more than happy to oblige. I got an aperol spritz and then moved onto a negroni, and when my boyfriend saw the negroni he got a boulevardier. Kris was awesome, so an extra shout out to him! They had a pool table, two skee ball machines, and a photobooth - all of which greatly excited me. Sadly I didn't get to the photobooth before it was time for us to leave (we had a schedule to stick to), but now there's a reason to go back! Treatment of displaced or unhoused individuals was trash. The bartender (granny in yoga pants with coke bottle glasses) was talking shit about a homeless woman, who found her way into the bar and wasn't bothering anyone. She was making comments about how there was hamburger in her hair, which didn't appear to be relevant. Then when I asked if she was actually helping her and said that disparaging the unhoused was not a good look: yoga pants granny bartender responded by calling me a motherfucker. Prior to this I also tried to clarify with her what my tab was with my exact drink orders, even though it hadn't made it into the system yet. Maybe she's so defensive about homeless people because she knows that she's only two months from being homeless herself given her abject behavior for disadvantaged people. read more

Bartender was rude. On her phone and talking to the other bartender made me feel like I was low on her priority list. She asked me what I wanted and as I was trying to tell her they continued to talk over me. When I did order and asked for a lime with my drink, she didn't give me one. So I asked again, she sighed and then put an old slimy discolored lime on my glass. Gross!!! I got a hazy IPA and it was delicious, but I'll need to order a non-beer drink next time if I'm eating burger and fries too cause I was so bloated!! They have some games in the back, including one pool table and two skeeball machines. We didn't realize there was a waiting list on the wall (until someone told us) and accidentally cut some people, since we swooped the pool table when it seemed like it was unoccupied. Small and fun little dive bar located in Alameda. And they have a pretty good selection of beers on draft as well as some bourbon. I've always thought that the folks here were efficient and friendly. This place also has kind of a punk rock vibe to it (if I remember correctly). Over the years, I've had a few friends that lived in Alameda and this was our go to spot on. We wanted to catch up while I was in town. The drinks here are reasonably priced and especially during the weekdays, it's pretty chill and not too crazy. Perfect for a place to catch up. One of the few places open late on the island, thank you. And open late on a Monday!! We actually tried to get food at Scolari's, which Dan owns also, but they were closed when we finally got the munchies. Walked over to La Penca Azul, which used to open until late night, but they were closed also. So we were "forced" to come back to have a liquid late night dinner... What is happening to the night life on the island??? Service - Only 1 employee or owner? So I was patient and understanding. Plus we almost closed the bar... If you're not white you won't be getting the same service. Male bartender that is there Thursday nights, can't even pretend to not be racists at least to provide SOME customer service. He will literally close the door on your face. Apparently when he says last call it's only to who he wants to help. I just left a review for Scolari's so I'm leaving a review for the Lucky 13 Alameda. I'm not much of a bar person, but I absolutely enjoy the Lucky 13 Alameda. For me, I enjoy the bartenders and the casualness of everyone I've ever met there. When I've just stopped in because I've ordered food next-door at Scolari's, and I have my dog with me, there is never an issue. They actually have water out in the back for dogs. During that type of a visit, I've seen other people sitting at the bar and their dogs are near their stool and there has never been a dog issue ever! I really don't drink past beer but when I'm enjoying time with my friends and then suddenly we get hungry of course we reach for the Scolari's menu which they keep at the bar. So not only is it a great ambience and experience. You also have great food! Lastly, the other thing I think that is super cool is once you wind down and you're ready to go home the bartender has to go containers along with the napkins behind the bar area so I don't have to go next-door. So it's the combination of the two the Lucky 13 Alameda with Scolari's delivering to that bar makes a perfect afternoon or evening with my friends. Been going here for a while and it's got some pretty good beer. The last two times I went, the female bartender with black hair and tattoos I feel is racist. My wife and I have done nothing wrong to deserve the treatment (or lack of). Stood in line for a beer, and I was clearly next, but she went to the people to my left, the people to my right and just skipped me. I stood there for 10 minutes trying to get her attention, even when I locked eyes with her and think I'm next, she goes to the next couple that just came in. Sadly, I won't be back. What a complete shame this even happened. Came in on a Friday night to have a couple beers after dinner. I stood at the bar for several minutes waiting to be asked what I wanted. Watched the bartender take a shot with some girls, watch her have little banter with some guys leaving the bar, watched her serve two other people at the opposite end of the bar and even watched her take a second to have a drink of her own beer. She never said hello, never made eye contact with me, just worked around me without any acknowledgement. When she came up to some guy next to me literally taking off his coat just getting there I knew she ignored me. So blatant I could taste it. I called her out for ignoring and her response was "have you been there for longer then 10 seconds?" So I left. She was just flat out rude for no reason and it was such a waste of an exchange. Im also a bartender and it was so disappointing to get such sh*tty service when I just wanted to have a beer.
