She asked what kinds of flavors I liked, gave me suggestions for both hot and cold sandwiches, and helped me choose the perfect one. She even recommended the dressing to make sure it tasted exactly the way I wanted--and she was absolutely right! It was so delicious, and I'm so glad I trusted her recommendation. I also ordered the broccoli cheddar soup, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with my sandwich and was so comforting. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was extremely hot outside, and they even brought my sandwich out to my car, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really meant a lot. It's not often you find great food and such genuine kindness. I've visited this location several times over the years, but unfortunately I've noticed a decline in overall quality and organization. The kitchen area often appears quite cluttered, with food occasionally on the floor, which raises concerns about both cleanliness and employee safety--especially since some staff appear to be wearing sandals without non-slip mats in place. I've also noticed inconsistency with glove use; some employees wear gloves while others do not, so it's unclear what the food safety policies are. Typically, there seem to be about three employees working at a time--one at the register, one preparing sandwiches, and another rotating between stocking, refilling, slicing ingredients, and assisting with food prep. During busy periods, the sandwich station appears rushed and disorganized. I've also observed that the slicer is not always wiped down between different food items, which could be a concern for cross-contamination. The dining area generally looks clean, although tables can sometimes take a while to be wiped down, even during slower periods. The restrooms are acceptable but fairly basic. The staff seem to be doing their best under the circumstances, but improved organization and stronger oversight from management could help create a safer and more efficient environment for both employees and customers. read more

Just a short stint from I-80, plenty of parking. I went for a quick sandwich for lunch on the road and was greeted by two very enthusiastic and friendly young women who quickly took my order and got me back out the door (in a good way). They steep their iced tea, have ample choices for fountain drinks and chips, and the place was clean. They also bring the food to your table when you order at the counter and then dine in. The sandwich comes with the usual (shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo/mustard, including pepperoncini!). For less than $12, I was able to get their smallest sandwich (about 6"), chips, and a drink - quite the deal! Next time, I'll look deeper at the bread selection. They served mine on the standard French roll, which was a little lackluster, but it held the goods, so I couldn't complain. read more

I thought maybe they were celebrities the way they were greeted and welcomed in and were immediately asked if they could take their order. Originally loved this place. Today, I ordered the Santa Barbara (swapped cream cheese for cheddar and spinach for lettuce). When the sandwich came out, it had 1 measly strip of bacon on it- a sandwich advertised with bacon as the meat should without a doubt have several strips of bacon! It was overstuffed with shredded lettuce rather than proportionately applied (to compensate for the lack of bacon I'm sure). Not sure if the bread changed either because this visit it was so doughy it stuck to my teeth. Made me glad I swapped the cheese because the cream cheese would have been an even soggier mess with the bread. Additionally- there's now a code to enter the restroom. Was told knock and then enter the code, but was failed to be told to press "c" prior. That means when you're in the restroom, anyone with the code can just come in? No one should have to knock nor should the person using the restroom have to listen for a knock, and reply, especially if it's busy and loud with music playing. Will not be returning. read more

My son approves! My little son and I stopped here to pick up some sandwiches for the park today. I got him the peanut butter and jelly sandwich which had chunky peanut butter. He's never had chunky peanut butter, but he loves it now! I picked up the "Hobie". Now the main reason for this review is mostly about the customer service. The owner and management team should be very proud of how welcoming and sweet the employees are. They talked to my son and made him special and gave him a sticker and he was happy. Almost to the point where he wanted to stay and eat there but I told him we were going to the park. The food is really good by the way. My Hobie was top notch.
