food was tasty and the restaurant was clean and inviting. the service was great. love that there open late.

We've been here quite a few times. The chicken is always good and most of the staff is friendly.

When you need some good well seasoned and hot chicken, don't walk, but run to Dave's Hot Chicken. The employees are kind and the location was clean. Oh, and those fries, oh my! They were hot, seasoned and crunchy. Yummy yummy!!! Go and get some read more

Placed an order online through their app, pickup ETA quoted for 6:05. Walked in 6:08, the lady at the counter said it's not ready. Asked when it will be ready and she responded "I don't know". Asked again, because I thought she was joking, even suggesting "5, 10 minutes more? Since the app says it would be ready 6:05". Nope, same answer: "I don't know". Guess that's the customer service you can expect here. Eventually, about 10 minutes later, my name was called and the order came out and was (surprisingly) accurate. Despite the food being good, I would expect some sort of answer when the food would be ready instead of telling me how much you hate your job. Even if you truly don't know, at least an apology and instructions like "we'll call your name when ready, thanks" would be fine. Otherwise, what's the point of ordering ahead? read more

First time stopping by Dave's Hot Chicken, so let's talk about it! I ordered the mild chicken tenders, while my husband went with the mild sliders. And of course, we had to add the Mac & Cheese on the side! Starting off with the atmosphere--the vibe is definitely there! The music, graffiti-covered walls, and fun atmosphere make it a really cool spot to grab a bite. The service was friendly, although it could be because we ordered through a kiosk. Even so, our food came out quickly, and the staff was super friendly. They even came by our table to make sure we were doing okay, which I appreciated! Now, let's talk about the food! The chicken was really good and had great flavor, but I personally would have liked it to be a little crispier with more of a crunch. I also think I should have gone with a medium or higher heat because the mild had absolutely no heat to it. So if you don't like spicy food, the mild is definitely the way to go! The fries were really good and seasoned nicely. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the Mac & Cheese. It kind of stuck together and I felt like it could have used a little more flavor. Overall, I'd definitely go back! I want to try a higher heat level next time and see how I like it. If you have a Dave's Hot Chicken near you, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try! read more

The wait was reallllly long for it not looking so busy. We came on a Thursday night and it took almost 40 minutes for our food. The restaurant was clean and the service was nice, rushed but nice. The breading for the mozzarella sticks was not flavorful at all. It seems the flavor comes from the hot sauce but I figured the breading would have at least a little flavor. Overall it was okay read more

Husband and son shared order #2. It took a good 15-20 minutes to get the order since it is a holiday today. I tried the pickles and fries. Wow, both are really salty. The place is clean (even the toilet). Husband said the bread is cold, as if it just came from the refrigerator. read more

Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 8/10 We went during a weekday during lunch hour and there was only 1 cook and 1 cashier so it wasn't as fast as expected but still ready at a decent time. Everything was perfectly crisp and juicy. All the sauces were great and paired well with the food. Mac n cheese wasn't bad at all which surprised me. I got medium and hot heat. The medium is perfect for a kick and the hot burned my mouth to the point if I kept eating it I could not taste it lol I love the heat so it truly surprised me how spicy it was. I still liked it but if you want to enjoy the flavor of the chicken I would stay under medium heat. Drunk (strawberries n cream) was very refreshing. It was sweet and sour but definitely will give you brain freeze. Overall, everything was made great but very greasy and messy which I'm okay with if it's yummy. read more

First time at this location. Medium spice level was perfect for a little hint of spice. Fries were crispy. Bread was moist. Soda seemed watered down. Definitely would like to try the hot Mozzarella stripe some other time read more

I came here to try this new restaurant out on a Sunday at 5pm and the place was packed! I have never been to a Dave's Hot Chicken before. I accidently stood in a line against the wall thinking it was the food line to order but it was people waiting for their food order leaning against the walls. Thankfully, someone noticed us in the wrong line and redirected us. I ordered the 10 piece chicken nuggets with fries and a side of ranch. It came with Dave's sauce packet which was a delicious dipping sauce that seemed similar to in n out's sauce. I had low expectations for the French fries but they had a special salt seasoning on it that made it taste better than just bland fries so that was a nice surprise! It tasted like Lawreys salt seasoning. The ranch sauce was an extra $1.49 per added sauce. I didn't realize the Dave's sauce packet came with the meal, I probably wouldn't have ordered the ranch side. They accidently gave me a spicy ranch too which was spicy! The chicken nuggets had flakey crispies for the breading that made them crunchy and delicious on the outside and juicy on the inside! They are pretty plain with no spice but the dipping sauces make them even better! My boyfriend ordered the single tender extra hot and his mouth was burning. When I looked up at him, I could see the burn from the spice was having an effect on him. He said he was glad he didn't get the hottest spice flavor! The fries were crispy too and the seasoning salt on them gave them some umph. I was surprised by the drink selection of frozen slushy drinks, fountain drinks including cherry coke, a couple options of iced tea and milkshakes! I read the reviews about the ambiance being loud and it's true. The music was a mix of 70's and 80's music. The walls are spray painted which was a really cool artsy and unique design with tributes to vacaville. The floor is cement so I noticed there wasn't anything in the establishment to absorb sound. There is outdoor seating through the back door where you can escape the noise level, but if you want something more quiet, you might want to get it to go to avoid the noise. We sat at a two person table and everytime I looked around while we ate our food, there were groups of high schoolers with their friends. Overall, it's a nice fast food restaurant addition to vacaville if you want some fried chicken! read more

Let's start with the parking, Dave's shares a very busy parking lot with multiple other busy businesses in this area. Parking can be hard to find, but doable. The restaurant itself was fairly busy when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I've been wanting to try Dave's since it opened a few months ago. This was my fist experience. I ordered via the app, which said my food would be ready in 10 minutes. This was not the case. It ended up being more like 30 minutes. I don't know if they were short staffed on this day or if that was the normal staffing but it appeared they needed more help. The staff was friendly and did get my order correct, which is always nice. Food was 'okay', maybe I expected too much. Would I go back again? Maybe. read more

First time at the Vacaville DHC and it did not disappoint. The customer service was great, Cecilia was our attendant and she was incredibly sweet and receptive. She made sure to check to see if it was our first time in case we had any questions. The food was also great! The Mac and cheese reminded me of the one I used to eat in the cafeteria at school. Overall good experience and will definitely come here again! read more

Location is convenient nice outside patio, inside is smaller. Customer service was great, everyone was willing to help us, especially Melannie. She went above and beyond to fix our order. As for the sliders (medium flavor) it lacked heat and flavor. My daughter loved her chicken wings hot honey & my husband loved his Mac N Cheese. They were happy with their food. read more

Had to wait for my food for like 40 minutes when there was no one else ordering. There was only one person making the food in the back and one person at the front. My order was to go and when I opened the food and served, the whole family was disappointed. Food was not well prepared at all. Will not go there again. read more

I've been wanting to try Dave's and was so excited to see cauliflower bites on the menu Wow!! One of the worst foods I have ever eaten. Overcooked cauliflower pieces were pretty much disintegrated. The extra crispy flavorless batter was a mouth full of grease. I spit it out. I tried absorbing oil with napkins (went through 6 napkins for 10 bites). And each bite was just as gross. Tried with the sauce. Still gross as the sauce is bland. The pickles were cold and crisp so unfortunately they were the best thing about my order Fries were just ok. It comes with a piece of white bread? However, service was great. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. The place had cute decor and was a comfortable temperature. Will I be back? NO I was sick all afternoon read more

Great place. Good service. Chill vibe. The food is on point. I'm not sure why it matters that Dave is hot in order for the food to be good, but it is what it is. I mean, it's right there in the name. Punctuation and phrasing for the win! A+ read more

Food was ok enough. I got 1 slider with cheese fries. My fries were cold. We were in there with one other family that already was eating and it took forever to get our food. Which is why I was surprised my fries were cold. Music was kind of loud. We couldn't hear each other talking. After about 15 minutes our food was finally ready . So I guess it was ok food if it wasn't cold. But took way too long! read more

I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken but there were never any locations nearby Fairfield until now. Being a new location, I wasn't sure if they'd have the cauliflower chicken but they actually did. The "chicken" was great and the portions are generous. I love Dave's. I think the chicken is good. Buns and slaw and all are good. I do come here a lot BUT ONLY off peak times. Friday through Sunday night don't even bother. Service takes forever. Food ends up cold. Especially if you're taking it to go. Lunch time on most days also a wait. Management really needs to invest in a faster more efficient way to process orders up front and back of the house. read more

This is the slowest fastfood place I've ever been in. Be prepared to wait 15 to 30 minutes.

Chicken and the breading had no flavor. Mac and cheese was good as well as the pickles. Drinks should be included in combo deal.

I like Dave's hot chicken, but I would avoid this location. They're a hot mess, it took me almost 30m to get my meal. The kitchen seemed ridiculously understaffed and inept. Off course they got my order wrong too. To top it off the icemaker was broken so I had to drink my soda lukewarm. I'm never going there again. read more

This is just not a good restaurant. Light mild, mild, and medium all had the same non-existent heat level. The food was cold, the milkshake was room temp and nothing had flavor. Angry chickz would never. I did provide feedback directly on the website as directed by Brett's response and I never heard back. They're probably overwhelmed by all of the negative reviews. read more
