I've been coming to Chicken Express for over 20+ years. They are known for their Mexican Rotisserie Chicken. You can order plates or family meals. What's cool about this place is that you can get tortillas, salsas and Spanish rice with your chicken as well as more traditional sides such as coleslaw, garlic bread and potato salad. I go the 12 pice family meal which came with choice of tortillas or garlic bread and 2 large sides (I got coleslaw and Spanish rice). The chicken was delicious like usual and the coleslaw tastes a lot like KFC's coleslaw which I like. The garlic bread was a little soggy by the time I brought it home and could benefit from a little more seasoning. The Spanish rice also could be slightly more flavorful. They used to have a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa, but I did not see one and they did not include any in my togo which was disappointing (I did not realize until I got home). They have a parking lot behind the restaurant with a decent amount of parking, but be aware of your surroundings (particularly as it gets dark) because it's a little sketchy there due to some homeless hanging out there. This location is on the busy North Texas Street, so pulling out of the parking lot can take a bit if you need to make a left turn to go east on North Texas St. If you want some delicious rotisserie chicken, this is the place to go. They have locations in Fairfield, Suisun and Vallejo. The least sketchy location would be at the Suisun location. read more

I have been getting these tacos since they were over in the Walmart (used to be an Albertsons) lot. Classic chicken taco that has stayed the same through the years. The service is quick and the food is made to order so if there's a few people in front of you (depending on the size of their orders) it can be a little bit, nothing outlandish though. Food was good as usual, first time eating at this location, fast service but the stench coming from the bathroom as you enter had my boyfriends daughter lose her appetite instantly! This place is the bomb if you love rotisserie chicken a little cut above Costco's. Chicken tacos hard/soft mucho bomb!!! Side boiled corn has been removed from their menus KFC and Popeyes. This has always been my GO TO place when I'm the area and craving tacos. I came in to place my usual order 2 taco plate, but they had changed The menu on me Lol . They said they no longer offer that. It's pretty much a la cart now. The shells are packed with meat and extras. But careful sour cream can get pricey if you have to have some. They charge 21 or 29 per taco for that Extra added goodness. I try to say no to the extra calories and pass it up when I can. They do have this BOMB green salsa that I drench my taco in. I know this is a one of a few locations. I went to the one in Vallejo but they are very skimpy I'm the meat If your in the area check them out. I think actually invested in New lobby seating. This is a local's spot if you're from Fairfield or Suisun. The rotisserie chicken is full of flavor and fresh because they are constantly cooking them and selling them. Don't come here if you are looking for a fancy eatery but do come here if you enjoy delicious chicken tacos, burritos, taco salads or sandwiches. They also offer Horchata on tap so you can get refills if needed. They do have a small salsa bar but I've never tried it as I just stick to their packets of taco sauce. So what if it's not in the best looking building or in the nicest neighborhood... the fact of the matter is, the chicken is bomb, the food is cheap and it does NOT disappoint. Crispy Chicken Tacos - you cannot go wrong. You can literally get three of them for less than $5 (add extra $ if you add sour cream). The hot pico is amazing. There is also a small salsa bar with a hot creamy salsa that is DELICIOUS. Taco Salad - is HUGE... it's definitely bang for your buck! I could easily split this with someone else. Don't be a moron like me though and forget the CHIPS that come with it (the "taco" part of the taco salad!!). There is ample chicken in this salad and the beans make it really filling. So my family and I have came to this place Twice in the last week. The first time we came, we had excellent service and an amazing dinner. I believe the first time as Sunday night. Today my wife and I go into the restaurant to see that the employees are all crowded around the food(where the sides are) talking in Spanish. My wife and I are fluent in Spanish but didn't speak Spanish to the workers. As we go to order our food, I tell my wife how great full I am for her purchasing the food. Then the women taking our order says to the only male worker at the time, "Why can't you be sweet like these two people?" And that young Hispanic boy said, "They're just acting, and it's all for looks." They assumes that we didn't know what they were saying, they were soaking right in front of us, and it wasn't just the guy. All of the coworkers were laughing at us and continued to talk about us. After hearing what he had to say, I began to watch the workers. I noticed the boy worker grab his coworker by the bottom and grabbed. She just laughed, by far the WORST customer service in Fairfield. It's sad because the first night my wife and I were treated by a man who seemed like the manager, he was very respectful and polite. And for this to happen, totally not okay. The food is decent, the beans taste a little old and the garlic bread was very soft. My overall experience was An (0.5/5) stars. When a great chicken joint goes bad... H1N1 seems to be of no concern to this establishment. After spending more than $30 here, I asked could I get a cup of salsa from behind the counter. I explained that I was concerned with the stuff that is out for all to self serve due to the missing sneeze guard and the large family eating that seems to be coughing in unison with one another. I am not asking for any favors here, except that I would like to be given a cup of the same salsa, but from the inside of the case. They tell me that I can, but I will have to pay $2.79 for a cup. I decline and have bad feelings about this as I am leaving. Next, as I arrive home, I realize that they gave me flour tortillas instead of corn and they also give me the wrong side orders. My daughter and I went here this evening, what a mistake. I must preface my review of this restaurant, normally I like this establishment having frequented the Vallejo location a fair share of times and overall I have always been very satisfied. Tonight, however, my experience sucked. My wife really likes there chicken and asked me to go pick up some food for her. I took my 18 month old daughter at around 8:00pm on February 13th. When I walked in and stepped to the counter, I actually thought the place was closed. So much so, that I said, "are you guys closed?" They said no, still no greeting just some empty stares. Didn't really phase me, an hour before they close ~ PROBABLY A LONG DAY. I ordered, paid for my order and even tipped them. When the girl at the counter gave me my order, I asked her if she had a prepacked salsa and sauces. She told me "no", and pointed to some trays around the counter. Now keep in mind, I was still carrying my daughter in one hand and hot chicken in the other. I asked her if she could pack some for me, she said she could not. I reminded her that the other locations did this, she did not respond. So I stood there and packed the salsa and 7 minutes later. I silently picked up my bags of food and put my hand in the tip jar and took out the 1.50 I gave them. Never again. read more
