I ordered a three-patty hamburger but received one patty without lettuce or tomato, as advertised, and it was overloaded with American cheese, burger flat as pancakes. This was my first visit, and I should have gone to Bud's Burger instead. There was no fresh lettuce, tomato, or onions on this burger, which made me feel like I wasted my money on top of the burger being wrong. I was craving a burger and I'm normally a Buds girly but I wanted to try something new so I hopped on Yelp and found this spot and checked out the reviews it looked like a safe spot....except for it being drive thru only which threw me off lol but none the less they made up for it with the speed of service and most importantly the taste of the burger it was actually fire AF and I loved that they have the crinkle cut fries. Absolutely horrible meal. Their quality has slid to abysmal standards. Ordered their fish and chips, which used to be very good cod with a delicious batter. They have obviously changed their supplier and cooking method. The batter was inedible and way overcooked to the point of burned. Fries were both somehow soggy and way overcooked at the same time, not to mention cold. I can only assume they had been sitting under a heat lamp and had been fried much earlier in the day. The topper was they had the shame and audacity to raise their price to over $17.00 for this mess. It went straight in the trash and I made grilled cheese instead. Will never eat here again and recommend others to save their hard earned money. How they have managed to remain open is a mystery. read more

Went through the drive through and ordered two #19 meals. After ordering we drove up to the window, paid $40+ for two meals. When the worker handed us our food in a white paper bag the entire top of the bag tore and fell out of my hands but the worker caught it and prevented our food from hitting the ground. We were so lucky that the worker, Imani was thinking on her feet and saved our food. After that she doubled bagged our food and we made it home safely without any further issues. I was on the road driving and wanted a hearty meal. I went on Yelp for nearby restaurants and found this place. For starters, the person at the window was very professional, accommodating, & had a motivated/can do attitude. I didn't go inside but from what I can observe from the outside I can see it was a plain burger joint with tables & chairs. The burger & fries were so hot I had to wait a few minutes before eating them. It's a shame this burger joint isn't in another city because if they were this burger joint would put the substandard burger places out of business & definitely puts a lot of places of this caliber to shame. read more

This was just the burger I was hoping for! I am amazed this place was as quiet as it was. I walked right up and ordered and had my food a few minutes later. Local burger joints are often a hit or miss because the mark is so easy to miss: purely a hedonistic meal. And this place does not miss the mark at all. When I go to a local burger joint, I am expecting something that is honestly the epitome of a fast food burger--something so decadent and indulgent that you feel like you've gotta do something beneficial for your nutritional needs the rest of the week. Again: that's my criteria and when that craving comes about, there is no better fill than a classic, once-in-a-while juicy burger and breaded-and/or-fried potatoes/onions followed along with sips of pleasureful milkshake. By no means is this place an artery-clogging, grease-laden heart attack ready for pick-up (go to Vegas for that), but don't come here and get anything that's not a burger or burger-adjacent (i.e. fries, onion rings, shake, etc.). Is this place giving other local burger joints a run for their money? I wholeheartedly think so. The food comes out fast and it comes out hot, fresh, and just a satisfying meal each time. If you're thinking that Five Star Burger sounds like it might be setting itself up for failure with a name that boasts greatness only to give mediocre food, you'd be in the same shoes I was in before trying them out. I really liked this place when it first opened, but it has been getting worse and worse. I think this recent order may be my last. The fries were cold and must have been cooked in old oil. They were brown, but soggy. The burger patty was filled with gristle. I understand the occasional piece of gristle in a burger, but this was disgusting. First bite, gristle. By the time I got halfway through the burger I had chewed on 3 pieces of gristle that wedged between my teeth. I don't know if they have been cheaping out on the quality of their meat, but I am pretty much done with this place. A shame. I would order from them often. read more

Today I decided to try something different and went with the pastrami sub and ordered my son a kids grilled cheese. This is not a grilled cheese. It's a cheese sandwich. He barely took two bites and was done. The fries tasted old. And the pastrami sub was not a sub. Idk what that was. But spending $26 for all this and for it not to be prepared correctly is disappointing. Today's cooks failed! The only thing that was good are the onion rings, but they forgot my ranch. Vallejo five star used to be my favorite go to place for burger and fries. That is used to be my visit today 4/16/25 Was a horrible experience food wise. I went through the drive-through as I normally do ordered a jalapeño burger with fries and a drink. On my way home, I like to nibble on a couple of french fries upon reaching my hand into the bag. I felt cold fries. I picked a few out and they looked burnt like they were definitely fried way too long. They were also cold and soft like the burnt fries were sitting out for a while. They also lacked any of the seasoning, so what I ended up with instead of french fries was overcooked cold flavorless potato sticks. The burger, however, was warm, not hot. It didn't Look or taste like it was fresh made. It also felt like it had been maybe re-warmed on the grill. The burger, however, did have all the condiments it was supposed to have on it. I don't know what happened to this place because it used to be top notch fresh hot food, not old food that has been sitting there for hours just re-warmed. Based on this visit, I would never return and I definitely would not recommend them. Hopefully, they get their act, cleaned up and start providing the food that they used to read more

I have been to Vallejo Five Star Burger twice and specifically for the milkshakes. The first was in the summer of 2021. I had gone with a friend that I spent most of the early summer with. I grew up in the area but in the last few years I did not spend too much time in Vallejo. As we were driving down Georgia to get here, I wondered where we were headed. Pulling up, I thought, "Isn't this the old Long John's Silvers". It must have been years since I have been here. To my surprise, Vallejo Five Star Burger reminded me of simpler times, a sort of nostalgia in a small town's freezer joint - similar to a foster freeze. I read a review about the burgers being very juicy and fresh. I ordered a double double bacon burger and fries. The burger wasn't flavorful at all. It had no taste and the meat wasn't juicy but the burger was messy with the special sauce and cheese. All I could taste was the bacon which was very salty. The burger itself wasn't very hot and the fries were the same , lukewarm. It was overpriced, I paid 11.99 for a burger that I could've gone to Habit Burgers and gotten a better burger for less.
