I sat at one of the tables by the window and enjoyed my treat. Double Rainbow Cafe is located in downtown Benicia on the corner of E and 1st Streets. They sell many flavors that you don't usually see in grocery stores! If you buy more (about a dozen) they have a special price and give it to you in a box. Otherwise you should bring some sort of cooler bag. In addition to ice cream sandwiches they also have other snacks like popcorn and cookies. Some of the less common flavors include strawberry, pumpkin, coffee, and mint chocolate chip. Service has been great. If you want you can even ask for a random assortment of ice cream sandwiches. At times the parking can be a little limited since there's a popular brunch spot a couple doors down. But it's well worth a visit especially on warmer days if you're in the area.

The cookies are 100% delicious, fresh with a nice variety of flavors to keep it interesting. What I love is that they have a standard, fixed menu (chocolate chip rotating with semi sweet chocolate chip, brownie batter, pink sugar cookie, Oreo cookie, snickerdoodle, and celebration cake batter) plus a weekly menu that drops every Monday. I have used Instacart a couple times with no problem... the one time I placed an order through their app for pickup was less seamless. I placed my order on a Sunday with a time to pick up in the morning the following day. The app reminded me to pick up the cookies, but I was disappointed to learn that 2 of the flavors weren't yet available. I was told by one of the workers who I called over the phone that they would be ready by 4 in the afternoon. The flavors not in stock were 2 of the weekly drops, so I opted to wait until the afternoon. Although a little bit of a delay, not the end of the world, but it was a small hiccup. It seems they were not very prepared for the new drop. Asides from that issue, I have nothing but positive things to say. The store seemed pretty clean and the service was friendly.
