At Solano's Westfield Mall food court (2nd Floor) I've found Matt's Gelato. I've never noticed it in the past, but glad I finally did. With several flavors to choose from, my indecisiveness drove me insane. Ultimately I ended up flipping a coin on a small size of 50/50 coffee and peanut butter cup. The cup sizes were deceiving. I honestly thought I would get nothing more than what the cup can contain and nothing passed its height. I was definitely wrong on that assumption. It was a generous serving in my opinion. Love how they have this stand inside of the Solano Mall! I've always enjoyed eating my fruits with lime, tajin, and chamoy!! When I was living in Tracy, there was always a guy standing at the corner with this same exact thing. When I found out this location existed, I knew I had to go here ASAP! The stand is located on the 2nd floor of the mall, near the food court. Perfect location and easy to find. Not only do they sell fruit cups, they also sell gelato ice cream and mangonadas. I have yet to try the gelato, because every time I've come here, I always ordered the fruit cup. However, they do offer many flavors of the gelato. When I order my fruit cup, I've ordered the size small, which is only $4.00, and they overflow the cup with fruits. And then they ask you which sauce you want, I always ask for the lime juice, tajin, and chamoy. I also love the fact that you can choose which fruits you want in your cup, and they cut it fresh right in front of you. Every time I've come here, the fruit is always fresh, not soggy or over ripened. In my cup, I always ask for watermelon, mango, pineapple, jicama, and cucumbers. Such a delightful combination. They also have fruit drinks such as the mangonada which I tried today. I'm writing this review based on my very first impression and time here... First; there were two young ladies working the kiosk this Friday evening. It wasn't busy, with only two men in front of me ordering gelato. One girl was serving them and the other was...stocking...their single shelf/drawer?? I was standing in line, made eye contact with both girls and received no greeting. Which I don't mind entirely, it is just a kiosk in the Solano mall...I wouldn't expect more honestly... Second; the girl that was serving the men ended up taking my order, which was a Mangoneada. Yes, I waited for her to finish with them before I even spoke to either of the girls. Anyway, as she was cutting the single slice of mango that topped the three pounds of shaved ice, it seemed as if she was trying to chop straight through to the hell beneath her feet...no kidding, I would use that amount of force butchering a large Turkey. She then threw her machete into the fruit bin with the intent she would hit someone with it...yikes... I got my order and I should have suspected...it tasted exactly like her attitude. Like shit! She squirted what tasted like the whole damn bottle of hot sauce in there. I couldn't even finish the half slice of mango, she destroyed everything about this treat that was supposed to be good. The only thing that was palatable was the damn tamarind sick they garnish with. Now, it's likely I will not ever return based on the HORRIBLE customer service and that I hate my life and everyone in it kind of attitude I witnessed. Wonderful gelato located just across from the food court in the Solano Mall. There's over 30 flavors to choose from any given day and each one looks lovely in the display case. The man working wasn't overly friendly, but he made no gripes about running to his car or store room to get my daughter's preferred cone size. He was back in no time flat and we were ready. My daughter went for bubblegum, I for the strawberry cheesecake. Mine was creamy in texture, smooth in taste. Just what I was hoping for, the perfect balance. Didn't taste like processed junk either. The kiddo is not one to complain about things that have sugar in them and enjoyed every bit of her bubble gum gelato. She was especially excited about the fact there was actual gum ball chunks in there. They had several sugar free options as well on the far right of the case. Good to know! I actually far prefer gelato to ice cream because of it's wonderful creaminess. I don't frequent the mall often though and had forgotten about this place until Yelp reminded me. I asked for their names and manager's name to complain and they did not provide any information. I have never been treated so poorly. I have been providing customer service for over 17 years and have never experienced or witnessed such terrible treatment to customers. Good place for gelato ice cream with a lot of different flavors! I tried the mint chocolate chip with pomegranate (bad mix...never again lol). The pomegranate gelato was good but the mint chocolate was way too minty it felt like I'm eating tooth paste -_- then got some Coctel de Frutas with everything on it except Valentina hot sauce & it was bomb.com haha now I wanna make my own at home...sooo good! I've been here quite a few times and I actually really like the gelato here. My favorite flavor is the toasted almond. It's just so yummy! Definitely worth a try and prices I think are reasonable and pretty comparable to other ice cream shops. They are good about letting you try flavored if you need to. The customer service does lack a little bit with the girls because they do seem unhappy but at least they aren't mad when serving you, they just aren't that friendly bubbly type. The man though he is usually okay, usually nice. So I come here whenever I'm at the mall, which is not very often. But when I do I like to stop by. Give that toasted almond a try! read more

They make the gelato themselves daily. So you know that you're getting something freshly made. The raspberry sorbet is my favorite. It has so much flavor. It's sweet and tangy and I love how it has raspberry seeds in it. I love the fresh fruit that they have with the spice mixed in with like juice. Loved the Fresh Fruit that is offered here! My personal favorite are the Mangoes covered in the spices. Perfect mixture of sweet and tangy! The employees were friendly, energetic and most importantly fast. You can tell they truly enjoy their job. I don't get to go to the mall very often, however when I do, I make it a top priority to stop by and order my favorite item. I don't think it's a big franchised corporation like other Yogurt/Ice Cream Parlors so you can really taste their quality in their ingredients. Terrible customer services. Please hire peoplethat actually like their job. The ice cream is great! But when I came up to the counter one girl was chatting it up with her boyfriend who I guess works at he mall too, she just looked over that I was standing there and it not care she just keep on with her conversation. The girl behind the ice cream pretended to be be cleaning and then she just turned around and took her phone out and was on it for a couple of minutes, all this while i was just standing there waiting. She finally put her phone in her backpocket mumbled something and the threw something she had and in hand in the sink behind her and finally helped me but with a bad attitude. Horrible experience, Told the workers 2 girls what we wanted the fruit we wanted and the chilies we wanted. They did not listen at all, they added the wrong chillie, when we told them one of the girls was like "you need to let us know what you want before" I replied "I did when you asked" then they didn't add cucumber like I told them, and they replied you didn't want it, I said yes I did. Then they went on to say you said you didn't want the green Mellon. I didn't know cucumber was considered a Mellon. I went back to the kiosk to talk to the owner who is never available. Left my name and cell phone with the young lady's that work there, never got a responds.
