I saw their booth at the SF International Chocolate Salon 2013, and got to sample a lot of their different flavors. I liked the Seaweed Caramel, Li-Hing Mui Caramel, Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel, and Oreo Caramel (everything that I tried!), but the Bacon Caramel is what REALLY stood out for me, and I'm not even a bacon fanatic! The popcorn kernels are huge and fluffy, and somehow manage to stay really crispy even weeks after your purchase date (the expiration date wasn't for another few months). If you live by Walnut Creek or pass through here, Plumeria Flours should be a must stop if you like caramel popcorn!

For the pan dulce, I tried both the cinnamon roll and the concha. Between the two, the concha was definitely my favorite. The cinnamon roll, unfortunately, was a bit tough--I tend to prefer cinnamon rolls that are more moist and decadent. Tres leches cake is one of my favorite desserts of all time, so I was especially excited to try theirs. Sadly, the slice I received was very dry and almost seemed stale. It lacked moisture entirely, and while the flavors were okay, nothing stood out or felt memorable. It honestly didn't resemble a traditional tres leches cake. Overall, this was a 2/5 experience for me.

Two weeks before the party, I called Fantasty Cakes to ask if they were available to bake a princess themed birthday cake for our little one. Thankfully, they were available and agreed to make the cake for us. Later on that same day, we stopped by to see and approve the model they had for the detailing of the cake. We agreed to bring fresh flowers in for the top of the cake and a gold crown cake topper we purchased. We dropped both items off the evening before our event. The princess birthday cake turned out nearly exactly how we wanted it. The style was elegant and they included a nice, sutle glittery sheen to the cake as well. The cake was moist, not too sweet (just how I like it), and was quite tasty. For the filling, we requested strawberries. Unfortunately, they included very little strawberries for the cake's filling. They did include a ton of fresh whipped cream more so than strawberries, which was disappointing for the amount of money we spent on the cake. Initially the customer service we experienced was pretty good. The staff seemed helpful and knowledgeable, even when we spoke on the phone. On the pick-up day, however, our multi-tiered cake was given to us in a donut box and not an actual cake box. That being said, the donut box was not closed around the cake, exposing it to the elements. My husband asked if they could place the cake in an actual cake box, but the worker said the donut box was all they had and handed it over to him. I'm very grateful for Fantasy Cakes being available to make my daughter's birthday cake on such a short notice.

This shop is located in the Nut Tree shopping center,kind of by the Merry-Go-Round. So much parking available-though the lot does get busy on weekends as anyone who goes to Nut Tree knows. So this shop is a locally owned business-they only have one location and supporting them is truly the definition of supporting local small business. They make homemade candy. It's chocolate and caramel heaven. They have so much good stuff-chocolate pretzels,chocolate-dipped red vines,chocolate peanut butter cups,caramel apples,chocolate-covered caramel-dipped marshmallows,white chocolate,dark chocolate-it's overwhelming. We went inside and sure enough, they asked if we would like hot chocolate. I was with my family so there were about 14 of us and 6 of us wanted hot chocolate. Since we were in there, my family started to browse... That's when I knew they got us. Lol. We ended up leaving with 1 Carmel apple, and more than 7 chocolate treats, from chocolate gummy bears, chocolate marshmallows, chocolate pretzels, chocolate Carmel squares, salted Carmel and more.. so much stuff that I couldn't even count. The staff was very friendly and helped out everyone with patience and got hot chocolate for everyone too.
