Service was friendly, and the ambience made it a great spot for hanging out with friends. Parking out front is a nice bonus. Overall, a high-quality dessert shop that caters to both college students and locals alike, and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Davis!

I love Davis creamery!…read more Since my freshman year, I have been going to Davis creamery! It is one of my favorite places to bring friends to, or show to people visiting Davis. I like that they choose to make their ice cream in store rather than buying it in bulk or ordering it from a factory. If you are looking for a quick ice cream treat, I would 100% reccommend checking this place out! Everyday of the week, they have some sort of deal or happy hour sale going on which is worth it to schedule into your day. They have many different flavors and toppings and they do allow sampling! For those who cannot have dairy, they also have dairy free options which is why this place is a go to for large groups or people new to Davis! There are options for everyone. One thing to note, they do not have seating inside and oftentimes they have long lines. But they do have seating right outside under street lights. On busy days, staff are alwasy working as fast as they can and they are always happy to help. The best way to avoid the lines? Go before meals or go earlier in the day :) after dinner is always the busiest time. In the spring, you can also submit a flavor you'd like them to make and if it makes it into the running, it will enter the month of bracketology where visitors try new flavors created and the favorite will be added to the menu for a while. If you are new or just stopping by, I would reccommend trying this place! If you find a flavor you really love, you can always take it home in a pint!

It's a bit of a drive from Sacramento due to the traffic because of the construction. It was worth the drive to try something new. I've never had this type of Taiwanese shaved ice before. At least I think it's Taiwanese. It was described as frozen milk shaved like shaved ice. It's very fluffy and not chunky like regularly snow cones you get at fairs and festivals. This shaved ices don't compare. I loved the texture of the shaved ice in our Mango Bingsoo(Regular). The shaved ice was covered with mangos and dressed with sweetened condensed milk. I wish there was a larger portion of the condensed milk to pour on top of the plain ice when you run out of mangos. The proportions mango to shaved ice was pretty spot on, though you could always use another layer or two of mangos. I just can't get enough mangos. Price- This was pretty pricy and I would say it's a special occasion type of place. In addition i Size- The regular was the perfect size to share with a friend. For two of us the large would have been too much. Restrooms- They have one unisex bathroom in back. Thankfully you don't need a code to go in. It was clean and well supplied. Entertainment- They have a bookshelf of games to entertain you and your friends as you enjoy your sweet treat. Parking- There is plenty of parking as they share a private lot with the shopping center. It's nothing like downtown Davis where parking is scarce and there is a time limit. Menu- they have a large menu, mostly of drinks. They have a smaller menu of desserts. They had several flavors of Bingsoo(Regular) including a seasonal peach, mango, and our friends got the one with red beans and rice cakes. I had a taste and it was really good also. Would I go back? Yes, for a special occasion.

When we left Davis and came back, we were really sad that there were no more Taiwanese food options, because we both loved the pork chop and meat gravy over rice so much. That being said, when we realized, honey D was there, we figured we would try it. The store itself is quite small, think fast service Boba shop size. The decoration is fine, the place kept pretty clean, not much more to say about it. The service is also really good, the staff working was very polite and friendly, and it turns out the owner must've been in the shop because she delivered our food and asked us if we've ever eaten this food before and offered to help. We ordered the fried chicken with pork gravy over rice, the beef noodle soup, and the lemon tea. To be honest, the beef noodle soup is not my favorite. Although the meat looks like it was freshly cut, I found it to be quite tough. I also was not really a fan of the bra, but I know the broth is also up to personal taste. For myself personally, I think the one at Dah Bao is better, and I've had much better in the Bay Area and outside of the bay. That being said, we both really enjoyed the chicken and rice. It was such a nostalgic taste, and we felt like the serving size was great. The chicken itself was really crunchy, so I imagine their other fried chicken and popcorn chicken options are also delicious. The tea was also very refreshing and helped to wash the food down. We plan to come back and try more of their braised meat and rice dishes, despite being a little disappointed by the beef noodle soup.

I really like their tofu pudding desserts. They're not overly sweet and come with a good variety of toppings, including boba. There seemed to be only one person working the counter during my visit. She was taking orders, making drinks, and bringing out the food. Our drinks took a while, but the wait for the food wasn't too bad. Either way, this was a neat stop that we went to during one of my visits. It's small, but it fulfills a niche without making the residents of Davis have to meander out to San Jose or the like to go to a Japanese market. There's imported Japanese household goods, anime and kawaii merchandise and trinkets, snacks, drinks, a LOT of Gunpla and model kits, manga, stationery, instant noodles, condiments, furikake, mochi and other ice cream, cosmetics, apparel, and much more. There's also some hot and fresh foods like baked buns, etc. Cool that they added several different floors and support the Japanese community there as there's classes too.
