I love Davis creamery!…read more Since my freshman year, I have been going to Davis creamery! It is one of my favorite places to bring friends to, or show to people visiting Davis. I like that they choose to make their ice cream in store rather than buying it in bulk or ordering it from a factory. If you are looking for a quick ice cream treat, I would 100% reccommend checking this place out! Everyday of the week, they have some sort of deal or happy hour sale going on which is worth it to schedule into your day. They have many different flavors and toppings and they do allow sampling! For those who cannot have dairy, they also have dairy free options which is why this place is a go to for large groups or people new to Davis! There are options for everyone. One thing to note, they do not have seating inside and oftentimes they have long lines. But they do have seating right outside under street lights. On busy days, staff are alwasy working as fast as they can and they are always happy to help. The best way to avoid the lines? Go before meals or go earlier in the day :) after dinner is always the busiest time. In the spring, you can also submit a flavor you'd like them to make and if it makes it into the running, it will enter the month of bracketology where visitors try new flavors created and the favorite will be added to the menu for a while. If you are new or just stopping by, I would reccommend trying this place! If you find a flavor you really love, you can always take it home in a pint!

Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. Walking up to it is very comforting as the yogurt shop is situated in what used to be an old house, so it doesn't give off industrial vibes, it gives more of a comfy home vibe. There was a lot of families present which is most likely due to the park that is right across the street as well as the front patio which has many tables to sit at family style. One thing to note is that they only have 6 flavors at a time. For my first choice, I chose to get a vanilla and strawberry swirl with fresh strawberries and watermelon gummies. The most noteworthy of all was that the fresh fruit toppings were well sealed inside of a refrigerated area. All the fruit looked fresh and well maintained. My son knew immediately that he wanted Bingsu after our hotpot lunch a couple of blocks away. We both grabbed the Mango Bingsu. Our Friends got the works with animal cookies and we just added extra Mochi for my youngest son! The ice cream from Gunther's is soooo tasty! We grabbed a Mango scoop for ourselves and our friends grabbed an Ube scoop. Self ordering kiosk. Staff were nice. We'd come back if we were in the area again.
