While in Davis, we walked past Baskin-Robbins and I saw that they were advertising a Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar. My family and I decided to stop in for dessert after having dinner. The inside was small, but had a couple of tables to sit at. We ordered the Jamocha Almond Fudge Shake, a cup with 1 scoop Cookies and Cream and 1 scoop of Chocolate Mousse Royale with Whipped Cream and Cherries and then also a Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar. The Jamocha Almond Fudge Shake is always a winner and we were a big fan of the Chocolate Mousse Royale as it was super silky and smooth, but the Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar was just okay - I enjoyed it, but I didn't taste very much pistachio or crunch. Staff was friendly, but also busy and just trying to get through the line of people. We'll be back next time we are in the area, but I will definitely be checking out different flavors to try! read more

My first job as a teen (many years ago) was at Baskin Robbins. So of course every time I go to Baskin Robbins I think about how fun it was, and how a lot has changed, but so much has stayed the same. But I digress... On tonight's visit, I was picking up dessert for a small family get together, and decided on the Oreo ice cream dirt cake. This cake was super fresh, and perfectly delish! Came in this week for a scoop of mint and chip ice cream. To my dismay, something about the recipe has changed. It's no longer green, doesn't have a strong mint flavor and is more airy and less creamy. This flavor used to be perfect! I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if this was just a mishap. This location is also great as it is right in the center of downtown Davis. You can enjoy your ice cream cone and walk around/checkout the shops nearby. There is also outdoor seating! I loved how there were so many flavors to choose from other than the simple vanilla, chocolate, etc. My favorite was the TAX CRUNCH! Just another Baskin Robbins branch. It's not my favorite place for ice cream, but they have decent ice cream. Their ice cream is consistently thick and creamy. I'm not sure why, but this branch tends to scoop smaller scoops. I've been here multiple times and helped by different employees, but the scoops are always smaller. The employees here tend to be curt. They seem to want you out the door. Well, it's working because every time I come, I seem to be the only customer. They have many traditional flavors and some sorbet, but I felt like most of the ice cream is too sweet. I got the pistachio almond, which was the least sweet there.
