I like that they choose to make their ice cream in store rather than buying it in bulk or ordering it from a factory. Everyday of the week, they have some sort of deal or happy hour sale going on which is worth it to schedule into your day. They have many different flavors and toppings and they do allow sampling! For those who cannot have dairy, they also have dairy free options which is why this place is a go to for large groups or people new to Davis! There are options for everyone. One thing to note, they do not have seating inside and oftentimes they have long lines. But they do have seating right outside under street lights. On busy days, staff are alwasy working as fast as they can and they are always happy to help. The best way to avoid the lines? Go before meals or go earlier in the day :) after dinner is always the busiest time. In the spring, you can also submit a flavor you'd like them to make and if it makes it into the running, it will enter the month of bracketology where visitors try new flavors created and the favorite will be added to the menu for a while. For myself personally, I think the one at Dah Bao is better, and I've had much better in the Bay Area and outside of the bay. That being said, we both really enjoyed the chicken and rice. It was such a nostalgic taste, and we felt like the serving size was great. This is my new favorite ice cream spot. By far the highlight of the visit was the employee named Luca. His customer service is beautiful, handling the post-dinner rush with expertise. He was impeccable in his sweeping technique and served the ice cream with ease. His hair was parted perfectly. He was trying a little too hard with his outfit, but the creative positioning of his name tag on his striking visor more than made up for it. I also saw him make a milkshake for another customer and they seemed to enjoy it greatly. I can recommend this specific location to anyone, solely on the merit of Luca. read more

I love it here! We come here with the fam on our walks downtown for some yummy ice cream! my favorite of all time and ice cream flavors out there is the Pralines and Cream! you must try it if you haven't! also love love their caramel frappucinos (warning: theyre addicting!!) about 8 years ago I would come and buy one everyday !! with my aunt, we were obsessed after trying them lol I gained so much weight and that's when I decided to stop lol read more
