My first job as a teen (many years ago) was at Baskin Robbins. So of course every time I go to Baskin Robbins I think about how fun it was, and how a lot has changed, but so much has stayed the same. But I digress... On tonight's visit, I was picking up dessert for a small family get together, and decided on the Oreo ice cream dirt cake. This cake was super fresh, and perfectly delish! Plus the customer service is amazing. The young lady that helped me tonight was super sweet. This location is a bit of a pain for parking because of the location, but nonetheless, it's a great one.

This location is conveniently located at the heart of downtown. Went there on a Saturday evening to get some dessert and our mission was accomplished. Very clean establishment and plenty of seating area inside or outside. Staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered some banana splits and asked for extra bowls because we were sharing. Request granted with no issues. Ingredients were fresh and tasty! We will be back next time we are looking for ice cream!

No bananas tonight so settled for a 2 scoop sundae.

*** Vegan Review *** *** Vegetarian Review *** *** Social-Distancing *** There are literally 31-flavors of ice cream shops these days. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, we had Thrity's and Baskin-Robbins. It was a simpler time ... either double chocolate malted crunch at Thrity's or a bubble gum scoop at BR. There are so many shops, but none of these can offer the same nostalgia of these classic spots. Here's a test before we continue .... do you see the hidden message within the Baskin-Robbins logo? Genius! Whoever thought of that deserves a triple scoop. If you don't see it, hit me up and I'll tell you to look at the hidden branding within the Amazon and FedEX logos too. Tip for first-timers: 1. Plenty of street parking 2. Download the App and sign up for mobile deals. You get an instant free scoop offer. Non-Dairy and Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Grade B): It has everything you're looking for in an ice cream. It's rich and creamy and if you're a fan of cookie dough, they don't skimp on the cookie or the dough. The chocolate chips add a textural component and the chocolate fudge swirl is just showing off. Would I order this again? Yes, but this is why it doesn't get the full A-grade. There is a slight aftertaste that stayed with me that one doesn't associate with the "real" stuff. So next time, I'll order a scoop of the vegan and compliment it with a scoop of rocky road and make sure I get a little of both on my pink spoon. Bottom line: BR wouldn't have been able to stay around since the 1940s if they didn't offer quality ice cream and fun cakes. Their Thanksgiving turkey-shaped cake was a huge hit at our get together a few years ago. I do wish they decided on the either a bigger scoop at the current price or a lower price at the current scoop size. They staff is super friendly and they are limiting the number of people that can enter the store at a time. They wear masks and are gloved-up. Even though we don't eat in the store for now, please continue to tip'em! Last note for vegans (taken directly from their website): Our definition of a vegan menu item is a food or beverage with no animal sources: no meat, fish, shellfish, milk, egg or honey products, and no enzymes and rennet from animal sources.

The service here last night was amazing! They employees were super friendly and welcoming! My girlfriend and I got a couple of scoops and they were generous with the portion size which was awesome! The inside of the place was super clean too!

Came in this week for a scoop of mint and chip ice cream. To my dismay, something about the recipe has changed. It's no longer green, doesn't have a strong mint flavor and is more airy and less creamy. This flavor used to be perfect! I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if this was just a mishap. But not a fan anymore.

This place has great and friendly service. They went above and beyond for my cake- I really appreciate whoever created it :) They deserve way more than five stars for their excellent cake making skills

I felt like I was in ice cream dreamland when I walked in! The decor is so cute with its pink walls, I felt like I was an ice cream cone with sprinkles. This location is also great as it is right in the center of downtown Davis. You can enjoy your ice cream cone and walk around/checkout the shops nearby. There is also outdoor seating! I loved how there were so many flavors to choose from other than the simple vanilla, chocolate, etc. My favorite was the TAX CRUNCH! This was a kona coffee flavor with chocolate brownie and nuts mixed in. I also tried the BASEBALL NUT, which is a cheesecake like flavor with raspberry swirls and walnuts mixed in. There are plenty of other flavors ranging from smores fudge to candy bubblegum. A double scoop is $4.49 with 1.00 extra for a waffle cone! Baskin Robbins definitely became my favorite ice cream place to go to :)

With all the new fangled specialty ice-cream shoppes out there, a place like Baskin Robbins could be forgotten by the hipster food crowd... but I'm saying DON'T FORGET ABOUT IT! Baskin Robins is an excellent place to get ice-cream. I may be a chain, it may have been around for a long time, but good is good. And Baskin Robbins is good. There are flavors galore at Baskin Robbins, so you'll definitely have a huge selection of ice-cream to choose from. Many of the flavors are unique and you can only get them here. Often times they will serve special seasonal or flavors made for a special occasion. And they can get pretty wacky with them too... but it's ok, because Baskin Robbins takes risks with some of their flavors... and I love that! Today I saw a crazy Amazing Spider Man 2 ice-cream that was red and blue and all sorts of wackiness. I was in the mood for something more traditional tonight, but I would have definitely given that a try had I wanted to be more adventurous. You can choose to get plain, sugar, or waffle cone... or you can just get your ice-cream in a bowl. There are many options on how you can enjoy your ice-cream. If you want something more, you have the option of getting milkshakes, cake, and other items along those lines. All-in-all, Baskin Robbins has been and continues to be an un-pretentious place to enjoy a scoop or two or three of ice-cream. Yes, it's been around for a long time, but don't let its stability and tried and true nature stop you from going. Baskin Robbins is definitely a place I would recommend to get your ice-cream fix!

There is a lot of table space in the cafe and when UC Davis is in session, I've found many of the tables to be occupied by students doing just that. Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.

Located directly on C St and tucked in between 3rd & 4th St's in the heart of Davis, this wildly popular family owned-and-operated fro-yo business has been around dating back to 2008. Since then, they have served locals, out-of-towners, and primarily college students that attend UC Davis. Since I don't frequent this area very often, I came here for the first time on Saturday 7/25/2026 at around 8:00pm. Parking was fairly easy to find as there is nearby street parking adjacent to the business. However, keep in mind that it can fill up during the school year as well as days where the Davis Farmers Market takes place across the street at Central Park (on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings). The exterior layout is absolutely stunning with a large grass area with picnic benches and seating to accommodate at least a couple of dozen customers. And since the business itself resembles a house, this creates that illusion you're enjoying a savory dessert in the comfort of your front yard. The interior layout is small though with only minimal seating. However, the flipside is that you are gifted with just over 100 amazingly delicious toppings to choose from. I won't list all of them but some of the toppings that stood out were circus animal cookies, gummi bears, brownie bites, Captain Crunch cereal, yogurt covered pretzels, and much more. And they offer just about every type of nut (walnuts, peanuts, etc.) as well as candy confectioners and syrups imaginable. The fruit section (which is in a chilled refrigerated case) offers fresh strawberries, mangos, blueberries, and much more. During my visit, it was crowded but not to the point where I was bumping into anyone. As is the case for other self-serve frozen yogurt shops, this place is familiar territory where you grab either a medium or large cup and start serving yourself. I went with a mix of chocolate, butter pecan, and cheesecake frozen yogurts with various toppings to complete my dessert. Since they go by weight, I spent just under $6 for a fairly reasonable amount of frozen yogurt w/toppings. Overall, everything tasted great with no complaints. Best of all, their hours of operation are 11am-11pm Sun-Thu and 11am-11:30 Fri-Sat. With above average service, reasonable prices, and an endless amount of toppings, I am giving "Yoloberry Yogurt" an above average four star rating.
