Absolutely LOVE this place! My son and his family took me here on my birthday. Love the eclectic tasting room and outdoor seating areas - lots to look at and appreciate. Wine was good! We did a flight and sampled wine grown in the Suisun Valley. Our server was professional and provided great information about each wine. I enjoyed every sip! I like the peacefulness of the Suisun Valley. It's not super touristy like Napa. Definitely check this place out! read more

We love this place & finally bought a membership. Brought friends this time & felt very well cared for by Brenda who was our sommelier today. Its quaint, boutique winery feel gives rise to some excellent wines & a great experience. The location is a little farther out for some folks so you need a plan for getting here. There are plenty of tables outside for cooler weather. It's clean & friendly with adequate parking. View from the windows is pleasant. I've been coming since 2007 and love Sunset Cabs which are hearty & deep. The color is gorgeous with a 'bloom in ur mouth' feel. Remember when you could visit Napa or Sonoma without reservations, pay $15, and have the actual winemaker pour you a tasting? That experience is nearing extinction in those areas but lives on at the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with friends and family with no reservation and were immediately helped out by the staff. The outdoor seating area was charming and decorated for the Halloween season. There is also indoor seating for those who prefer air conditioning on a hot day. Fah, the winemaker for Sunset Cellars, one of the three "microwineries" that share the tasting room, personally poured our wine and gave us in-depth insight into the varietals, the qualities of Suisun Valley wine, and the process of winemaking. It was harvest season so we even got to sample wine grapes right off the vine. The staff here exude a laid back but enthusiastic energy, it truly stands out among the generic tastings I've done at other places where you feel like people are just going through the motions, reading some tasting notes and moving onto the next customer. Highly recommend visiting for the friendly staff and the wine which is great value, whose quality was comparable to many of the $40 tastings I have done elsewhere. read more

Wine was good, but service was great! I've always visited Pioneer Tap Room next door, but been curious about this winery. My gym held a family night here and I decided that this was a good opportunity to check them out. We all had a blast! Great company, good wine and fantastic customer service. The interior has a funky charm with a mixture of sofas and bar seating. Outside there were tables and fire pits. I'm looking forward to returning again soon. read more

We had the pleasure of coming in for a tasting hosted by Sunset Cellars. The gentlemen helping us was nothing short of amazing he was super knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us one of the best tasting experiences we've ever had. The inside is very cool and offers a chic/rustic atmosphere. Outside they have an awesome deck for members along with a large selection of wines to pick from. The value they offer for a $15 tasting is amazing, I would highly recommend their membership since not only you get to spend a few weekends with them but you get access to some delicious wines and support small business. read more

This was a fun tasting room that was in a convenient location by where we were staying and the BEST part was that each tasting was free with each bottle of wine purchased. We tried a variety of different reds and whites from all over the area. Many of them were really tasty and we hadn't heard of those wineries before so it was even better that they were all in the same place! My favorite was actually a Chardonnay that was aged in a whisky barrel. So it had a unique smokey flavor that I really enjoyed. I'm definitely not a wine connoisseur but I know what I like and this co-op gave that to me and it made for a fun start to our day of exploring wine country. read more

We were here on a Saturday in March, and it was a great experience. Brenda was AMAZING!! It's nice to have someone pouring your wine who seems happy to talk about it without talking down, who is willing to customize your tasting, who doesn't rush you, and is just super friendly in general. The Wine Co-Op is three small wineries (Sunset Cellars, Blacksmith Cellars, and King Andrews Vineyards) in one room. None of the wines are high quantity production, so if you like something, get it now! The standard tasting menu was $15 for seven wines - two white, one rose, four red. They also had another Cab opened, and we got to taste two side by side, which I always enjoy. The wines are on the light side - nothing heavy or especially robust - but they are perfect for summer days on the patio. Or lunch with the girls. The tasting room is pretty spacious and there is outdoor seating. This was a nice stop for our wine tasting day. read more

Doug & Katsuko Sparks (Sunset Cellars) were great hosts today at Suisun Valley Wine Cooperative. We tasted white and red varietals from King Estates, Blacksmith and Sunset (owned by the Sparks). These wines are sourced from Suisun Valley, Napa and Carneros AVAs. Unlike Napa, you actually interact with the winemakers. Great values. I see there are no recent reviews for this place but lot has changed here in the past couple of years. One of the wineries (Sunset) changed owners and the new owners apparently have a different business model in mind. Previously it seemed the purpose of wine tasting here was to let the customer taste various wines so they can identify what they liked and wanted to purchase. With so many options it was always easy to select several bottles to take home. Previously, you could taste any wine you were interested in. Now, you can only taste a few pre-selected wines. If you are not a wine club member the list of wines you may taste or even purchase is even shorter. Personally, I don't care for pink wines, white wines or sweet wines which left only a couple of wines on the tasting menu that I would have considered for purchase. I get that customers can't have unlimited tastes but maybe give them more options? Maybe let the customer pick 5 tastes from a list of 10 or something? Or offer an All-Red tasting? Let them taste something they are interested in and likely to buy? Are they expecting customers to buy wines they have never tasted? I don't need to go wine tasting for that. Also, I think this place is geared too much towards club members. They are trying to make the wine club members feel special but maybe they just make non-members feel unwelcome? Anyway, I am not saying this place is bad, it still has great potential. I certainly recommend you go check it out for yourself. read more

I went there today and had an excellent experience. I tried at least seven or eight different wines from three different winemakers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating I felt like I was in my backyard it was a very hot day but they had misters which made it very comfortable. I'm used to going to Napa often however I tried something new and I'm very glad I did. read more

How it took my honey and me so long to discover the Suisun Valley wine region, I'm not sure. Regardless, now we're making up for lost time. We have visited the area twice (so far) and both times were great. During our first visit we learned that while there are lots of wineries in the area, only a handful have public tastings. The others either require private appointments or don't have tasting rooms at all. With that in mind, one of your best bets is to pop into the co-op to taste a sampling from five local wineries. They have a long list of whites, reds, and dessert wines to choose from and you can take your pick for no fee. They have some fantastic wines to choose from and we have bought at least 2-3 wines both visits. Bonus: There is a resident scruffy, cute pup who, if invited, will say hello and accept some ear scratches. read more

Totally unpretentious tiny place where you can go to try some local Suisun wines. The first thing I saw when I walked in was a dog walking around. Apparently it is the neighbor's dog and spends the whole day there. Cool! They carry wine from multiple local wineries in Suisun with the one exception being Barbera from Napa. The folks who work here seem totally laid back and chilled. However the wines were just OK IMHO and I did not find any that I liked. I did end up buying a few bottles since I felt guilty about the free wine tasting and the fact that the employees were so nice. read more

Hospitality Plus! Friendly staff with great service was the order of the day. She was very knowledgeable about the small local growers and the wines they produced. The complimentary samples enticed us to purchase half a case. Discounts when purchasing quantity. Support the small farmers, they work hard and long for the products that come to market. ok i am not a wine expert but i have been to quite a few tasting rooms and this is still one of the best. Without a doubt in my mind it is the best in the suisun valley for the wine and the owners. i LOVE the sunset zin and you cannot have better people running the place. I have brought in groups of my friends and for alot this was their first tasting room and not one person has not walked out of that place with a smile on their face, alot more knowledge about wine and most of the time a bottle or two in their hands. All tasting is free and the list is pretty long, if you have never been and your anywhere near by you have to go period. I am most likely heading out later today and picking up a bottle of either the sunset zin or barbera actually probably both! read more

We love the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op! This is our absolute favorite place to taste wine not only in Suisun Valley but pretty much anywhere in CA. Here are our reasons why: -Relaxed experience: 5 small wineries (Sunset, King Andrews, Mangels, Blacksmith & Winterhawk) share 1 rustic, quaint tasting room - each winery is "boutique" in the sense that they are relatively small operations.... but there is absolutely no pretense with the wines or the tasting experience. For us, that is the way wine tasting is supposed to be. Very low key and totally awesome!! -Suisun Valley: Most of the grapes hail from Suisun Valley and surrounding Solano County. This is still a somewhat "undiscovered" wine area in CA, kind of surprising esp. being adjacent to Napa County. We like that it is kind-of a secret but we also want people (who appreciate unpretentious tasty wine) to discover it too! -Delicious wines (probably the most important reason): There is such a wide selection of wines (probably about 30 different wines at a given time) a large number of them are available for tasting (best to have a DD!) We have a few favorites, which we are selfishly not revealing ;) -Personable: We've been there now quite a few times and have gotten to know just about everyone involved in the wine making of the 5 wineries (as each winery shares tasting room responsibilities). We like knowing where our wine comes from and to talk to the people who make it. They are a truly passionate, knowledgable and welcoming group of folks. What a find! Great wines, generous pours, and seemingly infinite opportunities to taste for only $10 (which is waived with the purchase of a bottle). We finally made the trip to the Co-op after seeing it every time we'd go to Larry's Produce! It's a cute little tasting room which pours for 5 local Suisun Valley wineries. When we went it it wasn't super crowded and the woman who helped us was one of the winery workers and she was very knowledgable on all the wines from all the wineries, not just hers which was nice. Since the tasting is free we felt obligated to buy a bottle or two which was no problem since we already enjoy Winterhawk and we even found a new favorite with Blacksmith Cellars! This tasting room currently features the wine of 2 wineries, with 4 more to join in the near future (as soon as ATF, i think he said, sends their approval). the sunset winery and twilight ridge (same winery, actually) have great wines. the owner/wine maker/everything else of that winery was staffing the cooperative's tasting counter when we were there. he's sooo friendly and fun to chat with. and i have so much respect for a guy (and his wife) who can create such delicious wines on his own. well, their red wines were great. i didn't love their pinot gris. oh, and the tasting is free! honestly, i never knew that suisun valley had so many wineries!!! read more

Yes, it's free and the service was friendly - however, the wine they were pouring had been opened too long (3+ days). We did not taste anything we wanted to buy. We try to buy at least one bottle from everywhere we visit, just to be courteous, we just couldn't bring ourselves to take any of these home. This place lost a star because the owners keep their cat in the venue which had the whole place smelling like cat which was awful for my allergies!!
