Absolutely gorgeous grounds and architecture, with some decent wines. The grounds are lined with 140 palm trees, including the tik tok viral palm tree road. The main building was designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, whose architecture firm produced some Apple Store and Blue Bottle Coffee locations. From the moment you check in you're captivated by the grounds. They pour six wines and we opted for the charcuterie board. The charcuterie board has a nice spread of olives, white & red wine salami, various cheeses and macadamia nuts. My favorite cheese was the Espresso White Cheddar. As for the wines my favorite wine out of everything i tasted wasn't on the wine flight but purchased separately. That would be the Emmolo Vineyards No 9 Sparkling Brut. The staff at the self service bar was very friendly but our personal tasting staff left a little more to be desired. We wish he would have broke down what flavor and scent notes each wine had, what charcuterie items paired well with what wines and remind us to rinse our glasses between tastings to avoid mixed flavor notes. He was more so in a rush and even after being tipped was sort of in a rush to get us out so he could get the table ready for the next party. We wound up getting two bottles of 2019 Grand Durif Petite Sirah to go, as when you spend over $100 your wine tasting is comped. I really wanted to love this experience. The wines were good and the place itself is beautiful... but unfortunately the customer service was not great. I made a reservation for a Thursday at 1 pm. It was just my friend who was visiting, my 6-week-old newborn, and me. When we arrived, the host was very rude while explaining their "21+ policy" and even said that we would be asked to leave if the baby started crying, out of respect for guests who came without kids. I completely understand that children can sometimes be disruptive, and I respect places that have policies around that. But first, those policies should be clearly communicated when making the reservation. And second, there's definitely a kinder and more respectful way to explain them. I really enjoyed my visit to caymus! I had no idea it was so close to home. We decided to do a girls meet up and it is such a beautiful property! Be warned that there are two different sites. I went to the restaurant so if you are looking for the winery make sure you turn right when you drive in instead of going straight lol. If you don't have a resy they only let you do by the glass which kind of sucks but they did let us sample what sounded interesting so we can choose rather than going in blind. Love Caymus Suisun (and St Helena) winery and really enjoy their wines. This winery is newer than the St. Helena winery (built about two or three years ago. They focus on producing Grand Durif (Petite Sirah) and the Walking Fool red blend which is one of my favorites. This winery is really well laid out with plenty of room for small or large crowds and has a really good feel to it: plenty of light enters through all the windows, there are lots of places to sit and be social, and the staff is among the friendliest I have met. Additionally, the owner and his family are big supporters of the military (Thank you Mr Wagner and family!!!!). Being retired military, I appreciate they support those in uniform! One of my favorite red wines of all time. I have been drinking Cayums Cabs for years and I had never been here before. The grounds of the winery are incredible and aesthetically pleasing in every way. We had a tasting and loved every pour. It was a beautiful fall day with crisp air and plenty of sun. Our hostess let us talk and poured our tasting with candor and grace. She told us the history of the Caymus family and its beginnings. . There are plenty of photo ops all around. I love the fact that they give you a shot of espresso freshly brewed before you leave. Great way to get you back to reality as this place is a dream. The coffee is next to the wine shop where we all bought various bottles and picked up on the way out. Here no one insists on joining a wine club because guess what they don't need it! This is a must visit location if you'd like to try excellent wine and outstanding service in a very aesthetic location. We came here on Tuesday to celebrate my partner's birthday along with several family members; we had a party of seven people. Upon arrival, we were offered complimentary coffee in their main entrance while we waited to get seated. Once all of our party members arrived, they sat us in their outside tables. Be sure to check the weather. This area of town gets extremely hot during the summer. When we visited in early July, it really felt like it was 100° F. They were nice and understanding about it and offered us fans. Laura, our sommelier, was incredible, very knowledgeable about Caymus's history and wines, and just overall a kind and welcoming person. We loved all the detail and the personalized menus with our party's last name included. The wines are exceptional and Laura did an excellent job spacing each wine so that it did not feel rushed. We had such a great time spending the afternoon here. My cousin reserved a tasting and we had the wonderful Mandy pouring. Our table was inside with a great view of the vineyards. Mandy gave brief overviews of the family history, the story behind each wine we tasted and engaged with us during the tasting. It wasn't dull and she matched my group's vibes. I visited Caymus again with friends and we ordered the cheese board and wine tasting. I noticed that Caymus has made many improvements to their experience since my last visit. The seating has been expanded out doors with more seating options! The seating for the tasting room has more outdoor seating which is nice because it is generally nice weather to sit outside and drink wine in this area! The charcuterie board seemed upgraded to have more variety of different palette snacks like pickles and green olives. Our selection of wine for the tasting was lovely, I didn't try a single wine I didn't like. Starting with the Chardonnay was perfect for the warm weather. I have also come to love the walking fool and 50th anniversary wines which were on the menu. Our wine enthusiast was very knowledgeable on the background of this specific wine and the rich history of the family and he gave us many details which was very interesting. Caymus is always an excellent spot because of their unique experience with the wine tasting and their little lattes you can get before you leave. Their product is so decorated they don't need to apply membership fees because the product simply speaks for its self. You never feel pressured to buy with them either, offering any patron and comforting experience. They have one of the most affordable tasting prices around. I have been to both the Rutherford and suisun locations and they equally offer a unique photo worthy experience. You simply cannot go wrong with this vineyard. My favorite is their The Walking Fool" that is a red wine blend from Suisun Valley, California, made from Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes. But the Mead Ranch Zinfandel was a surprising runner up that will ultimately take first place once my batch is completed. read more

It's fairly new here so it has a more modern look compared to the other winery's. Every wine that I've tasted was SO good! The main reason I came here was for their 50 anniversary wine. I tasted it at a restaurant once and man oh man! It was some of the BEST red wine I've ever tasted. (Cabernet Sauvignon) very smooth with lots of fruit and oak notes. I finally got the chance to visit Caymus Winery. It is just a first class experience. My sister booked a tasting the day after Christmas and I was thrilled. Although the day was overcast with light drizzle, the grounds were very nice. It was decked out in Christmas themed decorations which made the experience very festive. The main tasting room was setup to take advantage of the sweeping views of the area. The black framed windows were floor to ceiling and made you feel like you were almost outside. The light woods and great tones fabrics gave a very modern elegance to the vibe. Our tasting included the large charcuterie board with a variety of cheeses, nuts, olives and crackers. The items provided a nice complement to the excellent wines. There are two tastings: Suisun Valley and Napa Valley. The Suisun tasting highlighted varietals all sourced in local area. Very cool! The Napa Valley, of course, consisted of their top offerings. We opted for the NV. We were not disappointed. Our hostess, Petite Terry, did a wonderful job of explaining each wine and their maker. She made the tasting enjoyable and answered all my curious questions. I found Caymus wines in general to be easy to enjoy, ans easy to enjoy with food. While all the wines were EXCELLENT the Emmolo Merlot was the table favorite in terms of value vs taste. It was fruit forward, and very big for a merlot but was still very smooth. CSW will definitely be on our radar when the weather warms up. You have the option of a formal tasting or purchase by the glass. Just 45 minutes from Sacramento, this stunning winery is a must-visit--even in the cozy rainy/winter season. I visited during a rainy day and they welcomed us with large umbrellas to use.
