What's the craic? Fairfield/Suisun's best local winery might just be Bally Keal. My best friend and I were kicking off Memorial Day weekend with some wine tasting and ended up stumbling across Bally Keal after another nearby winery left us underwhelmed. We noticed the beautiful property, the giant wine glass sculpture, and a sign for live music on Friday night, so we decided to stop in. Jeff greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel welcome. After hearing we enjoy sparkling wine, he poured us a taste of their Brut, which was crisp, refreshing, and good enough that we ordered a bottle to enjoy while the band set up. The atmosphere here is fantastic with comfortable seating, a lively crowd, and genuinely friendly staff like Jessica & Jeff. Jeff also shared a little history of the winery and introduced us to some of their house-made spirits, including a surprisingly smooth vodka crafted from Chardonnay grapes. My friend especially loved their tequila selection. Once Sixty Scandals started playing their '80s covers, the place came alive. People were dancing, laughing, and just having a great time. We even ended up making a few new wine friends during the evening. Before we left, my friend joined the wine club, and we walked out with bottles, hats, and plans to come back soon. We also had the chance to meet the owner, who was humble, welcoming, and clearly passionate about creating a fun community space. My family and I are members at Bally Keal Estate Winery, and we just got back from their first annual crab feed. Party of six, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Hands down the best crab feed we have ever attended. They even had hot butter waiting for you, literally. Everything was included: wine, beer, and liquor. Five stars all the way. Btw, the live music was phenomenal! Vibe was amazing! This is top notch winery hospitality at its best, right here in my backyard in Suisun Valley. From the delicious wines to the top quality spirits, everything is done right. But what really sets this place apart is the customer service. If you are not a member, I highly encourage you to join. We stayed at the Residence Inn Fairfield recently. To our surprise the front desk gave us a 2 for 1 tasting pass to this local winery, Bally Keal Estate. Since the winery was only a few miles away and less than 10 minutes away from the hotel, we decided to check them out. We arrived on a late Saturday afternoon. The winery is located in a nice farmland area in Fairfield. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot. Unfortunately we arrived about an hour before the winery was going to close. We made the most of it by exploring the vineyards, taking pictures, and relaxing in the indoor lounge chairs. The atmosphere was a nice and inviting vibe. Our Chardonnay wines glasses were refreshing and crisp. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Bally Keal Estate. This place is so beautiful and so inviting. Clean and sharp presentation. Since we don't know much about wine, our server was best at it. Sadly we didn't ask him for his name:) but he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He helped us with our decision on what bottles to get. FYI! If you buy two bottles, your tasting is complimentary. Bought one bottle of Rosé ($30) and one bottle of the Reserved ($55) plus tips:) complimentary wine tasting(-$25). They also gave us a bottle of their Extra Virgin Olive oil! That was a sweet deal! As a an employee of another winery I'm always interested in others. Our visit was mainly to hear some music and enjoy some new wine. The patio setting is spectacular, many seating options. The bar staff were excellent. Jason I believe was fantastic, he went over all the wines we settled on the reserve cab which excellent, full bodied and smooth on the palate. Such a hidden gem in Fairfield. Bally Keal Estate is stunning for venues and events but I was there for wine tasting. We're members, and absolutely love the winery. This winery serves whiskey, beer, and wine. Which is awesome! Martin was our host and he did an amazing job and checked on us while we were there. The patio area is open and plenty of seating. Inside is just as comfortable and inviting. There is live music on specific days and tv for football season! We did the "Shannon" tasting and tried the 6 and 9 year whiskey and ended up purchasing the 9 year whiskey while picking up our wines. You'll have to check them out yourself! Bally Keal has it all -- wine tasting, whisky tasting, tequila tasting, and even beer. Wine flight choices are $25 and $45, I think the whisky flight is $25. The place is gorgeous with a spacious indoor tasting room and a big outdoor area filled with tables and cozy lounge spots. They offer (on most occasions so double check first) a generous charcuterie board for $35 and truffle popcorn for $9. The charcuterie board offers a wonderful variety of meats, cheeses, olives, dried fruit, and even a little splash of some chocolates, which is a fantastic addition to the board (who doesn't love a little treat? ). They have a small car museum onsite you need to make sure to check out. Jessica was our host and she was amazing! We could not have had a better experience. I couldn't recommend this winery enough. Came here for the first time a few weeks ago and don't know how I hadn't left a review! Went back for a 2nd visit today and brought some friends with us- equally great experience. The grounds here are beautiful and I'm looking forward to coming back when the vines are full. In addition to offering wine tastings, they also have spirits and beer. The grounds also include a museum of old cars in one section and a pretty patio area. Diego helped us both times (and I didn't catch the name of the woman that also helped us today), but consistently great! While I opted to stick to wine tasting, two in our party decided to try out the spirits this time and were content with their flights. The Cabernet I think is decidedly my favorite... the last one on the tasting menu, which of course I can't remember the name! We will definitely be back. read more

We had our wedding at Bally Keal Estate and I cannot emphasize enough how amazing it was! For starters, Bally Keal's coordinator Diana is such a delight and truly has all your best interests at heart. One thing I realized about planning a wedding is how long some people take to get back to you but not Diana. She was always readily available and willing to do anything that helped with our vision. The grounds of the Estate honestly speak for itself. It is well kept and stunning in sunny Fairfield, the pictures can tell you more. We had an open bar and per their policy we had to use their alcohol which I was hesitant at first, but after trying it I knew our guests would love it as much as we did (shoutout mango margaritas). Well, this was an AMAZING experience. From the location, the offerings, the staff, it was all perfect. I did the Spirit tasting and wow, they have really distilled some amazing stuff. My favorite was the Island Rum! A must have. Their beer was also phenomenal. They only have 2 beers which is a blonde and an IPA. Both were amazing. I'm a big beer guy and I was impressed. This is such a cute place to come and check out some mellow/balanced wines and some craft spirits with friends and family. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. In the tasting room you have the option of indoor and outdoor seating for wine tasting. Spirit tasting is in a separate portion of the tasting room, which is part of why I took a star off. If you're with a group of people who are interested in different tastings, you'll have to split up. You do have the option to buy wine by the glass in the room where they do the spirit tasting though, and they also have beers. There's a super cute private room that they're opening soon on the wine side of the tasting room. I believe it accommodates up to 12 people, but I could be a little off with that number. It would be the perfect place for a birthday tasting or to celebrate a milestone with a small group They have an event center available for rent too. The highlight for me was the garage with the classic cars, I definitely recommend checking them out if you visit the property. We went on a Sunday and were able to walk-in. read more

Where do I even begin? First off, I had no idea Bally Keal Estate even existed! The moment we arrived, I felt like I wasn't in Solano County anymore. It's absolutely breathtaking. The reason we ended up visiting was because my fiancé and I were out scouting for wedding venues. We happened to be nearby, and I remembered a friend recommending Bally Keal. I pulled it up on the map, and to our surprise, we were only five minutes away, so we decided to check it out. We didn't call ahead or have an appointment; we just hoped we could tour the venue--and luckily, we got to. That's when we met the wonderful Diana, the Events Venue Manager. Another couple was already waiting for their scheduled tour, but Diana kindly asked them if they would mind if we joined in, and they were more than happy to share the tour with us. Diana was so accommodating! She took us through the tasting room, the outdoor areas, and the inside of the event center. She was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all our questions with ease. By the end of the tour, my fiancé and I were so in love with the venue that we decided to book it on the spot for our wedding! (Mind you, this was only our first day wedding venue shopping) We immediately felt a strong connection with the property--and with Diana, who is truly amazing. To top it off, we celebrated with a tasting. Diana sat down with us, listened to our vision for our big day, and shared in our excitement. I was a bridesmaid at a wedding here recently. The property is beautiful, but the experience raised serious concerns about communication, coordination, and safety. Bridal Suite: The lack of clear direction about its location, availability, and size resulted in extra hotel costs and unnecessary chaos. When we brought this up, the staff dismissed it as "miscommunication." Use of the Office Space: The couple was offered an office near the event space for outfit changes and storage of some personal belongings. What we didn't know ahead of time was that it would be doubled as a staff break room. People were constantly coming in and out, so personal items had to be monitored at all times, making the space uncomfortable and unsecured. Safety Concerns: During the ceremony lineup, the bridesmaids were directed to wait in the narrow space between large glass doors and heavy motorized doors in the rain. Once activated, the doors could not reverse, making it dangerous when they got stuck on a floor mat. We had to move the mat ourselves to free them -- no staff assisted. End-of-Night Incident: At the end of the night, the bride's mother was accidentally locked in an office by a staff member while changing. She was trapped for about 15 minutes, knocking for help with no one responding until a guest found her. The staff's response did not reflect the seriousness of the situation. Thankfully she was unharmed, but it was distressing to witness. Overall Impression: This venue has potential, but the lack of communication, organization, and attention to guest safety turned what should have been a joyful day into a stressful and unsafe experience. I would NOT recommend this place. I hope management takes these issues seriously so future couples and guests can have a smoother, safer celebration. read more

Went on here on a Friday evening to watch a live band perform and have date night with the Hubby. There were 3 different food trucks. The bar was full of wine, beer and waters. We enjoyed the Rose that we got a whole bottle to enjoy with our dinner and show. The wine and venue was so enjoyable that we signed up to be wine club members. Beautiful winery with indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day so our group opted to sit outside under one of the pergolas. Our group was there for wine tasting but I learned they also serve beers and offer a spirit tasting as well. I enjoyed the tasting selection, a good balance of wines that were on the sweeter side and some that were more dry. My tasting included a SB, Pinot noir and a few cabs. Servers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. One thing to note, we had a group of 8 but not all of us were drinking. I called ahead of time and was told that as long as it was less than 8 people partaking in drinking we didn't need a reservation, but when we got there we were told it didn't matter how many people were going to drink, if we had a party of 8 or more reservations would be required. They were still able to accomodate us, as it was early in the day and they weren't busy yet, but there should be better communication amongst staff on their policies as well as updating their website. read more

For future brides, choosing a naturally beautiful location like this one is such a smart investment--it allowed us to save significantly on florals, décor, and the effort required to manage both. The owners are humble, kind, and incredibly supportive. Diana, our coordinator, went above and beyond to make my vision come to life. Throughout the planning process, one thing was very clear--you can't fake genuine care, and Diana truly gave her all. Even though she works for the venue, I always felt that her support was personal and sincere. She put in the extra effort during the planning process to ensure our day was exactly what we dreamed of. My husband and I had the most magical time. We still find ourselves reminiscing and wishing we could relive the day--it was truly that special. The only downside we encountered was during our rehearsal, when an older white man with white hair (not part of the core event/venue team) was extremely rude to members of our wedding party. It was disappointing, but we chose to brush it off, as the rest of the venue staff were so warm, welcoming, and professional. The lobby was beautiful... however the customer service lacked big time. There was a young lady that got me and my husband started I had to inform her that it was our first time and only then did she welcome us, this was after standing and starting at the menu for a few mins. We ordered and grabbed a seat, she brought our snack over to us and never came back to check in we sat in the lobby for two hours with a card on file, eventually we left to move on to another location.
