What can you expect from a Marshalls in the hood! The clothes selection for men is horrible. It's either velour or polyester material for the clothing selection! This is isn't a 2000's rap video, I'm not trying to look like a member of Jagged Edge or 112, lol. I honestly just wanted a nice white or blue button dress shirt. Unfortunately I couldn't find one. The good thing is, their dog toy selection is great! But if you're a human male, this isn't the shopping experience for you. Thumbs down for the clothing selection for men. Today was my second visit to this store in the last four days. I visited a few days ago to pick up stockings however, I did not find any but what I did find is that they have a lot of beauty products marked down on clearance, so I peruse those isles and grab a bunch of stuff great prices great variety just a nice selection from hair products make up bath and body. Today I went in looking for Easter baskets because my sister told me that she saw some really cute ones in here and we building these baskets for the kids. I located the baskets - they're on the endcap by the registers. However, I did wander around the store for a good hour, looking through the Kids section, toy section, seasonal section and back again, because I didn't understand where these baskets would be. I also ask a cashier in all my wondering and she didn't know either and she sent me back to the toy section. At the end of the visit, I had a very cute spring purse, two toys on clearance, and the actual baskets were super cute and very nice size for $10 each . read more

I've come through the Ross as well as the Goodwill store in this complex and couldn't fathom why I haven't checked out this place before. So, after making stops at those two stores, I found my way up in here, curious if I can find any interesting buys. They were having a massive post-Christmas sale (their sign - see photo- does say BIG BIG BIG clearance event, MAJOR markdowns, MAJOR savings) and although I really wasn't in the market for anything, I was hoping to find some good bargain buys. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. Their clearance items weren't much of a clearance. I mean, how much of a bargain is $4.99 reduced to $4.00? And I found doggy treats regularly priced lower than its clearance price (see attached photos.) The one thing I'll give them, though, is providing hand sanitizers and gloves for shoppers. And people were mindful about social distancing, so that's cool. Otherwise, it was MEH. It really didn't feel like they had major markdowns or clearance items worthy buying. This particular Marshall's is clean, well lit, large and reasonably well stocked. Prices are semi-competitive with some large thrift shops. Since Marshall's has dressing rooms and a return policy and the thrift shop has neither, the dud rate on thrift shopping may drive the cost higher than Marshall's. Marshalls also has better hours than your average thrift shop. Overall, this Marshall's has better stock than other Marshall's and Rosses which were stocked to the ceilings with cheap exercise clothing and not much else. I also checked out the kitchen selection. It was temptingly low priced but I already have. I was looking for a really large 8-12 qt pot and boom! There they were and significantly lower priced than the thrift. Marshall's just joined the short list of my go to stores. read more

I bought nothing here when I came but it was a nice looking store. It was clean and they didn't have stuff all over the floor. I spent more time than I usually do walking around. There was a lot to see. It was also quite big. The only hiccup was the line. And my husband stood in it because he wanted to buy something and was convinced that our local store would not have this item. He's probably right. Also, it's possible that the filth of the store would have made him not want to go in or look around. So all in all, this wasn't a bad store. read more

I'm writing this review because I'm tired of being treated the way I get treated just because of how I look I was returning some gifts that didn't work out for Christmas one of them ripped because of the packaging so I was returning it. You can tell that I've never worn it. I told her that I wanted to speak to the manager when the associate came back, she was obviously upset because the manager approved the $8 return and she told me she'll make an exception this time for you and that policy has never changed mind you it's been less than 30 days. I literally opened it, and it ripped from the packaging. I worked for retail for over 20 years when someone talks to you like that I know exactly what that means and it's extremely bad customer service that the employee gets mad at you and makes a face like you did something wrong! I'm always treated the same whether I go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls because of the way I look and dress but I'm never rude to anyone and I'm always extremely polite because I know how hard people work because I'm one of those people. If I am not shopping at 99 Cents Store or Big Lots, I know you would probably find me shopping here for either clothes, housewares, or home furnishings. I shop at three other places and RARELY will you find me shopping at a big mall! Please go check it out the Costa Mesa store because you will discover that this store location is the bomb! Heads Up: I bought several designer bathing suits for $10 each for a bikini top and bottom set; DKNY dress for $15.00 normally selling for $250.00, I bought several pieces of sleek, contemporary furniture for my home, and accessorized my kitchen with very cool pots, pans, silverware, dish towels, etc., too! Marshalls - Marshall's - Department Stores Near Me - Vallejo, California

On Feb 1st and 2nd I visited this store and the service was horrible until I reached the cashier. No one offered assistance or greeted me or my wife until we were going to check out. Security follows people around without greeting and workers act like they are too busy to help or assist and wait for you to ask a question. They do not even attempt to greet but will stare at you with a blank face. They should go a couple of doors down and take a look at how Ross has implemented theft deterrence by staff being engaging. read more

I personally prefer Marshall's over Ross or TJs. It's much more clean and organized. However the purpose of my post is to warn potential shoppers to be careful leaving things in their car while shopping. I dumbly thought it was OK to leave groceries in the back of my car on broad daylight while I returned something inside Marshall's - apparently not. I kid you not, someone really broke my back window (costing me $475 to replace) just to steal a few Safeway bags?! Smh. The gentleman who just rang me up at the store was amazing, I wish I had caught his name. We are having to replace everything because our house burned down in Vacaville. He took all the hangers and set them aside and I said oh I guess we have to buy hangers? He said yeah we reuse them. I said the things you don't think about when your house burns down, you have to rebuy all of your hangers. He was so sweet he grabbed another bag put all the hangers in the bag and said here. This store has HORRIBLE Customer service! This guy who look like he may be gay .. with a big chunky face and short curly hair .. is a so called "coordinator" . WHAT A SHAME ! I was doing a return and he was giving attitude at me because I didn't have the tag but I had my receipt with me . Note he was training a new employee. Then he started whispering cuss words in front of me and saying RUDE COMMENTS about other customers to the girl He was training . Marshall's normally is good to me. But today I didn't appreciate the employees. I fell and slipped due to he store being non compliant with putting up a sign of wet floors. Someone must've broken a bottle spray or soap I didn't notice there was a spill until I slipped and fell. The liquid stuck to my pants and legs while I caught myself from falling with my right arm. I was wondering if the customer behind me that heard me fall was the one that spilled whatever it was. But I was just annoyed that the employees didn't ask if I wAs ok. It was more like "who spilled? why? And where?" Smh disappointed. And I'm sad cause my arm is now starting to feel sore. Unfortunately this is the only Marshalls store in the neighborhood. The store is usually fairly organized but most of the time empty! I don't know why they have such a poor collection especially in active section. The racks are empty most of the time and they fill them with weird stuff like tank tops from lingerie department. I don't blame them, I blame the district for not giving them enough merchandise! But about the employees, you would never see anyone on the sales floor to ask for help. If you push the button for handbags for help, you have to wait forever! I believe it's the store manager's responsibility to have her team to provide customer service to people while she's a very bitter unhappy woman!!! The only person that I've almost always found very nice, helpful and respectful is the elderly African American lady with short hair in the fitting room. What a sweet loving woman. Love Marshall's in this location. All staff is friendly always asking how my day is and genuinely seems happy to be at work. Maybe it's because their store manager is so pleasant. She can even handle the Rae Dunn collectors with a smile I heard recently she is leaving. I hope she is going to another Marshall's because it would be a shame to lose her completely. I actually don't mind shopping here. You don't shop at Marshalls to find exactly what you need like the mall or an outlet. Marshalls is an off price department store. If you complain to find things that are old maybe you need to hit the mall or something. It's a hit or a miss department. You don't go to Marshalls to find a specific name brand and expect to pay less than what they have in store (current style) you better take yourself somewhere else! I haven't been to this Marshall's since I moved to San Jose 3 yrs ago and finally went this past weekend. They did an overhaul with the layout and have a bigger shoe selection than I remember. The first thing I noticed right when I walked in was a Hotel Collection Comforter set for $109! What a fricking bargain! I would have bought it right there and then, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I wanted a duvet cover set instead. But, man for Hotel Collection? I might have to go back and give it a second look. My friend was looking for a shirt and "interview" tie and we were able to find a lavender/lilac shirt tie set for $19.99. It was some italian brand and it looked fantabulous on him with his suit. I would have loved to peruse longer, but my wallet told me I couldn't shop until I got paid on Thursday ! Booo! read more

This place is great for buying pet supplies, especially when you're on a budget and still want to spoil your furry child. I love how they always have items for cat lovers, cat themed accessories and decorations are not always easy to find. Food selection is awesome... 1 star goes to the variety of items that they have. Great items but some things are really expensive for a discount store. Like boots for $150, regular price was $160. That's not a big difference. 0 stars for poor customer service. I was standing with other customers near the customer service register. We were waiting for a cashier or one of the other workers to help us but instead they were gossiping among themselves! That's not professional to that in front of customers! The fat lady behind the customer service register finally looked at us and said, "Are you guys purchasing or returning?!" and we replied, "Purchasing". And she told us in a rude voice of tone, "Well, none of our cashiers are going to see you if you just stand over there. See that yellow sign where it says "Purchases" you're suppose to be standing there!" HOW WERE WE SUPPOSE TO SEE THAT IF THE SIGN IS UP HIGH?! They should of had a stand that said "Purchase line starts here" or something to that extent that's more visible. There was more than one customer that was confused with where the line started. Obviously they need to make it more clear with where the line starts for purchases!!! That lady along with the other workers that she was gossiping with were so rude! In my busy life, big family, lots of friends, party, get together is almost every week. Nevertheless, I have to go to store for gifts frequently. Yesterday, I decided to go to Marshall because I know they have good stuff. But you know what? Marshalls in Vallejo have few worst staff! Bad costumer service! They should not be there! I bought 6 items. At home when I checked on my receipt, they were 7. I got frustrated because I will be late to my appointment but I went back anyway. I thought I can just let them know how frustrating can this be to a customer. Presenting my case and verbalizing my frustration to a said CS supervisor, appears to be an Indian national, my frustration tripled. Instead of listening to a complaint, she said, " I will try to help you but stop being rude" then a gay employee around her was rolling his eyes, etc. I do not believe, asking why should that happened and saying it is frustrating is being rude. I tell you, these people are the real rude ! Because the language and actuations are real rude! I cannot stand them! I grabbed my stuff, left and said to them, I hope you do not do this to many! By the way, count your items and look closely when they ring the merchandize to avoid ruining your day ang paying what you did not buy! The manager is completely rude. I am a frequent shopper at this particular location, and would rather drive to pleasant hill to purchase something. The manager stands at the front door with a miserable look on her face.. My fiancé and I walk into the store smiling and saying hello! And she didn't greet us, she said "store is closing in 10 minutes." In a rude tone. I guess she doesn't care about her business. We weren't the first to walk out because of her and we won't be the last. This location is a complete disappointment. I've been shopping here for over 15 years and will not go back unless the manager changes her attitude or this store is under new management. read more

I come here and walk straight to the Men's Dept. This is where I get my white tees, v-necks, underwear, socks from great brands (Calvin Klien, Kenneth Cole, Perry Ellis) for less. They got really nice activewear (Nike, Puma, Reebok, etc). Sometimes you need to come in a right time to get the new shipment. Can really beat a great here. It price is about 50-70% off compare regular price you get the brand store. I score on a 20$ brown leather shoes by Clark. That was a buy! Wow Marshalls of Vallejo has definitely got themselves organized. I was so thrilled to see how together they have become, even down to the purchase area where they section off the returns from the purchases. And the prices are definitely a thumbs up from me. I purchased comfy and decorative seat cushions, a set of two for only $20. I also was able to find a reasonably priced non-flame candle set and a cooking utensil I needed. I paid about $40 for everything, but I was definitely happy with all of my purchases, but mostly happy that they got themselves together. read more

A step up from Ross. You can find better brands here especially in the kid clothing section. The shoe area was a hot mess but I wasn't there for that so I didn't really care. Right now for the holidays they have a ton of toys, I really like purchasing the arts and crafts kits for $5. They also have some nice decorations but on the pricey side. Had a return from another store . . . no problem. Clerk was super nice. Looked around the store and noticed it was orderly and neatly kept. Found some things I really didn't need, but hey, what guy can't use a couple more t-shirts and a pair of shorts? Clerk #2, super nice and friendly.
