DSW does not get the recognition I feel that they deserve. I've been a DSW fan for years! This location at Gateway Plaza, I honestly have never shopped in person. I usually come to pick up an online order, try on and look over my new shoes, and leave with a huge smile on my face. See: like a kid in a candy store. :) The staff here are always courteous, greets me when I enter the store, and helpful if I have questions or need to place an online order. The store is clean and a nice sized location. Needless to say, I'll be back ...what girl doesn't love new shoes. Plus, I'm always earning rewards, which keeps me coming back. I ordered shoes on 12/12/25 for my x-mas party on 12/19/25. I admit that I was cutting it close. The shipping date they promised was 12/19/25. I received an email on 12/14/25, stating that there was a delay in processing my order. I tried canceling on the app but was unable. I called in on the 16th to try and cancel and they claimed that the item was processing and that it could not be canceled even though it had not shipped. I informed that I had to buy another pair of shoes and that they were wasting their money and my time, because I was planning on returning the shoes. They kept apologizing for my inconvenience and saying that they understand. I told them that the customer service is received was poor and that I will not be patronizing their store in the future and will let the public know. read more

Placed an order for some shoes. This has been the 2nd time this has occurre. I received 1 pair and the shoes had been worn. When I say the shoes had been worn, I mean the white bottom was brown as though that was the color of the shoe. The from had black scuff marks as well as some places on the side of the shoes. There should be some type of protocol when the store receives returns. They could have at least washed/wiped the shoes down before sending it to a new customer. This store is fine, except that they don't have my shoe size (11-12 depending on the function). But they have my husbands size (4E - Indian foot). They didn't have any but this was a nicely laid out store, didn't have crap in the aisles, and now that our local store has closed, we can come here on our way back to the bay and peruse the aisles. read more

The store is fine and the people who work in the store are great. This is more a review of the business overall. I've recently had a couple of orders that I completed online that are sent with completely wrong shoes. And every order comes in boxes that look like they were beat up and stomped on. The point of ordering online is to save me some time; however, when I now have to go in to the store to return the shoes because they can't even bother to send the correct items it's more of a hassle. On top of that, I recently made an order for a couple of pairs of shoes. They didn't charge me at the time - I think because the orders got mixed up and one of the items got lost somewhere in the mail system and took forever to be delivered. Eventually I received the shoes - and then got double charged weeks after I made the order. I just spent almost an hour with "Sage" on the online chat option and they did absolutely nothing. After all of that time spent, they simply said they couldn't see two charges so they couldn't do anything. I was told to call an 800 number to speak to a supervisor. When I told them that was ridiculous, they told me a supervisor would call me "shortly" - however, as I suspected, nobody contacted me. I guess they're not interested in fixing their mistakes or keeping customers... I will go through my credit card company to dispute the charge and have them investigated and go through the BBB to report them as well. Needless to say, this is probably my last time shopping through this company. There are issues with every single order and I don't have that kind of time to waste nor do I appreciate the bullshit customer service when they screw up. read more

DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse has great shoes and accessories both in store and online. It can be hard to find shoes for my feet. I am a size 11 with flat feet. The price tag is a little expensive to shop frequently, but the shoes are worth the buy if you need long lasting wear. The shoe store neighbors to Ulta Beauty and Marshall's. I needed to find a pair of running shoes that would give my feet more comfort when I am working out or just standing for long periods of time. They were having a clearance markdowns on selected shoe styles, which was even a better possibility to find running shoes at a marked down price. I really enjoy the styles that DSW offers. I am a huge fan of their ankle boots and flats. Customer service is not very present on the sales floor. I only seen about two women working, one on register and the other on the floor doing markdowns and inventory. The store was clean and neat. The only thing i would suggest is keep more bigger sizes stocked in store more often. I immediately walked toward the clearance section, knowing I only came for the markdown sale, looking for running shoes. Honestly, the markdowns aren't by much. I managed to find a decent pair of size 11 Nike's. The markdown was based off the price listed on the box. I purchased these pair for about 50 bucks. I would say that is not a bad price, seeing as a Nike costs more in other stores. The shoes are comfortable and give my feet great support. The cashier service wasn't bad at all. I created a membership with DSW to search for store discounts and sales. She was kind and conversed well with me. They also offer shoe orders for pickup if a shoe you want is not in store. DSW is just one of the stores that has revived Gateway Plaza. & I doubt I have ever been inside a DSW before but I think this is my solution to shoe buying instead of going to the mall now. The store is always so clean and kept. The staff is super helpful & friendly as well. Isaiah is THE BEST. He's so funny & makes checkout a breeze. Plus, the selection in the store is endless. If you are autistic or on the spectrum Or otherwise a highly sensitive person, do not shop at this DSW right now. Upon entering the door makes an incredibly awful noise. Mind and ear searing, my brain is still rattling. When I told the sales associate they said they were not going to change it because it tells them when someone is coming in the store. I think that there are many ways of telling who comes in the store without offending the ears and sensibilities of everyone who walks in the door especially the Nuro-divergent. This may not matter to some. This is a warning and heads up for those like me or who may be parents to those like me. read more

Looked on line and decided to try this place as we have never been here- my husband and I came and I found a cute pair of waterproof boots - they didn't have as many choices as they showed on line but I was still impressed with the boots I purchased and with the customer service as well! I am super excited that there is a DSW in Solano County! I heard about it via an email and knew I had to check it out. The store will definitely bring some more retail attention to Vallejo and an Ulta is going in next door! The store was very clean, staff super friendly, and it was just like all other DSWs. The clearance racks had a majority of 20% off and a few 30-50% off (but that's to be expected since it's a new store). I am super excited that DSW is so close to my house (it will make online returns that much easier)! I look forward to return soon to shoe heaven! read more

Not going to write a review about the extraordinary discounts this place has because let's face it...it's not that far off from retail places. With that being said, if you know how to compound coupons or catch deals on their website, you can get a decent bargain once in awhile. I was happy DSW came to Vallejo since it's super close and I dislike traveling to Vacaville to go to a store dedicated just to shoes. Everytime I have come in here, I have found what I needed (for work, interviews, or just fun shoes). I like the self serve style of shoe shopping as opposed to Nordstrom's sit and wait for someone to help you pick your size out. Employees here are very nice, and have great customer service...which is saying something in Vallejo. read more

I was super excited to see that a DSW opened in Vallejo. This location is very convenient and the store itself was very clean and well organized. The staff was really friendly during my visit. As I entered the store I was greeted and as I browsed through the aisles and associate asked if I needed help finding anything, I love great customer service. The only reason I am deducting a star is because the selection at this location does not seem very broad. Their selection of flats, dress shoes, and accessories seems very small and limited. That is pretty much the only reason that would cause me to go to the Pleasant Hill location. read more

Please do not go here. My mom and I always go here but we will no longer be stepping a foot there again after what happened today. Today, coincidentally my mom parked next to one of the employee's car and she assumed my mom had hit vehicle when opening the door and that was not the case at all. She had a horrible attitude once my mom reassured her that she did not hit her vehicle while being outside of the parking lot. She proceeded to going back into the store while my mom was walking behind her and slammed the door at her. What type of customer service is that? very unprofessional of her. Once coming into the store the employee proceeded to let her manager know at the cash register what had happened outside, my mom overheard her mentioning it and the employee denied that what she had been talking about at the register. The manager did not even have the courtesy to apologize on her employee's behalf for the horrible attitude she had towards my mom as the customer. Instead, she defended the employee and ignored my mom. That is horrible management, it is the last thing she could have done. I want to make other's aware to not waste your time going to this location. Even when my mom payed at the register she girl who treated her poorly was standing by there and didn't have the courtesy to aplogize for slamming the door on her face the way she did. If the manager isn't able to have good customer service how do you expect the workers to have one as well. It made this shopping experience very uncomfortable. Bought a pair of rain boots back in November of 2018, and they started to rip by the toe part, I had no receipt and I tried to return them, BUT it was past 60 days so they could not do ANYTHING for me, even corporate said no, I can understand if I just wanted to return them for no reason,,,, but they had a rip in them , I'll never shop at DSW again, and I'll also let my family & friends know to, if a store can not stand behind there product when it breaks, then I'll take my business elsewhere read more

I'm definitely a shoe lover. This store has all kinds of shoes and I was able to find sandals that I just love. I actually ordered online first and had the sandals delivered to the store. I tried The sandals on and they didn't work, no fuss no muss they just didn't charge me for them. I then walked around the store looking for shoes. They actually have some good name brand shoes. It's great that on every aisle there's at least two seats to be able to sit and conveniently try on your shoes. So many places I've been to have a bench at the end of each aisle and it's such a pain. I even got a coupon when I ordered online because they didn't have the shoes that I ordered. I got five bucks off the sandals I did Purchase, bonus! Andrea acknowledged my presence upon my entrance into the store. Told me her name and offered her assistance when I was ready. Not pushy or sharky like a typical sales environment at all. I browsed in peace when finally deciding to utilize her assistance. And let me tell you, this woman went above and beyond to assist and satisfy my needs and most of all my price range. She was extremely knowledgeable about the companies inventory, the existing promotions and those upcoming. in the past ive visited once when my husband brought me shopping without our children on my birthday and we purchased a pair of shoes for myself. however, today i came on my own with my 3 young children, as i had no childcare. my youngest only 1.5 yrs was grunting and screeched about 3 or 4 times as i tried to find shoes for my older 2 feeling very overwhelmed. a man who appears to work there and eventually went behind the register area walked past my kids and grunted at them, actually making my 5 yr old comment that she thought he was mad at them. then persisted to mock my daughter and grunt or screech like her while talking to the cashier up front behind the register. thanks for making this overwhelmed mom feel even less welcomed. id rather pay full price than come to you. read more

never been in this store but i saw the "assistant manager" from DSW throwing a fit over at Quickly, the boba shop next door. i was just sitting with a friend(we love Quickly) when we over heard the DSW assistant manager complaining to one of the Quickly employees about them not being able to break a $100 bill. Now, I have only bought from DSW about twice and they were both from this DSW is vallejo. I placed an order at about 4pm for a store pick up and my email said it would be ready in 4 hours so I assumed 8pm. 8pm came and I never got an email. I called DSW and spoke to a women named Neisha or Meisha, I couldn't exactly hear her. She told me that my order wasn't ready and that they didn't get in it yet. I asked why because I know the product is there in site since I was there a couple hours before. She just told me it's not ready and won't be ready till tomorrow, I asked her why because I placed the order today and the email said it would be ready today. She told me that it's just not in their system yet and won't be done till tomorrow. I hung up on her, she was very rude and sounded like she didn't want to speak to me. I called DSW the next day and asked for my order because I still didn't receive an email from them. The women I spoke to told me my order was ready. I was extremely disappointed and mad that I was suppose to be getting an email when it was ready and didn't get anything. Why when I to go pick, I got an email from DSW saying my order was ready???
