The shelves are well‑stocked, and the owner, Karen, will surprise you with what she manages to fit into such a tiny space. And honestly, the best part is Karen herself. She cares deeply about her customers and her community, and it shows every time you walk in. This is the beauty of indie bookstores: people who genuinely care. Curious about said sign, we decided to check it out on the way back. This is a newly opened consignment store, featuring the handmade work of local artists and crafters, and albeit some very unique items. Crocheted Earrings, Greeting Cards, Hand-knotted Cotton Rugs, Spices, Tie-dyed T-shirts, Water Bottle Holders made from Fabric, that are Adjustable and Reversible (who on earth came up with such a thing?!!) to mention just a few. The store owner, Teresa, seems to be quite the ingenious 'crafter/builder' herself. She constructed a greeting card displayer that had racks made from Scrabble Boards. Obviously she's acquired quite a few of those boards, as she carries hundreds of Scrabble Tile necklaces that she made. Tucked away on Second Avenue, the store is off the beaten path, so I encourage 'Crockett-eers', especially, to come out and support this venture. Shop local, eh? After leaving the fam at the pier down the street to see what sorts of fish can unluckily become our dinner, I decided to check out what shops this little beach town can offer. Plant stores are my jam, so after yelping "plant store" this walk worthy sparkling gem popped up. I had to rush because they close around 5 & it was past 4pm. Parking isn't the most plentiful on this street, so I jogged there from my already parked car. From the outside array of succulents that greeted me that started at an affordable $5 each, to the packed thoughtful & inspiring aisles of displays of healthy & full greenery, super cute & funny planters (i.e. boob planter), to the inviting green comfy velvet couch, I just wanted to sit down & allow my eyes to devour the cuteness & inspiration that covered every square inch of this store from floor to ceiling. My eyes really couldn't hold it all in, there was so much to look at (check out the video) like framed art, planters, lots of strings of plants, snake plants, pileas, maranatas, calatheas. I can't name them all but theres lots. Which is precisely why I need to come back & do it again. This place isn't big box store like Green Acres, Home Depot or Lowes. It's more boutique plant shop, one that's individul person owned & operated. While there, the new owner of the store zipped around, enthusiastically helping all her customers & answering questions. Someone then recommended B&B Floral and I stopped by their shop right away. I met with Jay, showed him pictures what wreaths the family wanted, including personalized ribbons, with no issues. I even entrusted Jay to make a corsage for Mom, which was beautifully made with a pink rose. I also referred B&B Floral to my friends and colleagues who wanted to send flowers to the service and they delivered! Even the succulent garden my coworkers ordered was beautifully made. After placing my order, I looked at their website and saw a wreath that I loved. Since it was the same price, Jay had no issues exchanging one of the wreaths with their design. My only regret was not ordering the casket spray from them which was more cost effective than what was ordered at the time we finalized Mom's services at the Funeral Home. Moral lesson, just go to B&B Floral you all your floral needs. Great local business, great value, with exception customer service!
