I made a purchase of a battery for my BMW. I was told by the sales erson that if the size was wrong to bring it back. I did bring it back becasue the amp were wrong. They refused to refund my money or give me a strore credit. The manager Amy promised to call me back, to date has not. I have been a loyal customer even though that I pay a higher price for most parts. I still have been their customer. I had to dispute the CC charge. It is sad that I will never support this local business and I will let my friends know as well. I hate to YELP any business. I could have continued to be a loyal customer but sadly will not. They have my battery and they still have my money. read more

I will be ever been here for my battery but they're so great far as prices go! they have refurbished batteries for $50 new for $100. I had called one day to get one and they didn't have any in the size I needed so they told me to call back the next day around 1 PM and they already had eight in stock. Staff is always extremely nice and helpful this is my first choice as far as getting a battery replaced or checked out. read more

I was hung up on twice trying to buy brake parts for my car by some lady that answered the phone and apparently couldn't hear me. I called her back a second time to tell her I was looking for rotors and brake pads for my Ford. She asked me "front or rear or all around?" I said, 'all around'. She asked me a second time, "front or rear?". I said, 'all around'. CLICK! She hung up the phone. It happened that quick and was so unexpected. read more

Based on past experience I go here for parts. Today I went to find a starter and solenoid for a 60 year old Pontiac. Debbie went the extra mile and tracked down a starter which will be here tom. The solenoid was in stock! You don't tend to get this old school type service in the chain parts places. read more

I have gone to this parts store in Vallejo a few times and every time I have been provided terrific service! I am not a professional mechanic, but like to work on my truck and sometimes I'm unfamiliar of the part that is needed and the expertise of this staff points me in the right direction. I prefer using small businesses like these instead of the big box stores - "Buy Local" has always been at the heart of all my purchases. I will use them over and over! Keep up the good work, I'll be back! read more

I am still on the fence with this place Let me list why 1) there is a woman their that doesn't have much customer service attude. ie not very out going.or plesent with the customers. 2) Wrong parts are given to you and if you don't have a receipt and you have dealt with that parts person before you got nothing coming. Also if he is out to lunch you have to wait to get your refund when he comes back, even if you have a receipt. 3) Over charging of parts. Watch out for this one. The sales person tried to charge me twice for the same part when I was trying to order parts. They may have new old stock but you will pay!!!!! read more

LOCALLY OWNED!!! I drive a Bronco (aka Man-truck) and this store is a great supplier of aftermarket parts and add-ons for me. Good selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Plus it's got that classic auto parts store vibe; no cutsey pink seat covers or useless valley girl type section. This is a place for the serious truck people read more

Most condescending jerk I have ever spoken to. The MANUFACTURER of a part tells me to call them to order it. First they try and shift me to another part, when I tell them I want the part number I just gave them, he tells me it is obsolete. I tell him that is not the case and he hangs up on me! Now I know why I don't do business with them. read more

Great customer service! Went the extra mile to help me bring in and carry out my heavy auto parts. I appreciated that!

How these guys only have one prior Yelp review (albeit a 5 star) I just don't quite get it. They've been in business for as long as I can remember and have always provided good service and nice deals. My two most recent purchases at BWS were car batteries (one for an SUV and one for a vintage car). They know their stuff and I was reminded of how friendly and humorous the employees are here. The showroom is not humongous but I can just about guarantee that, if it's not on the showroom floor, they've probably got what you need in the warehouse somewhere. Stop in to say hi and find what you need for your automobile. No BS, check out BWS. read more

This place always has what I need from key fob batteries to brake pads. If they don't have something in-store, they will order it for you! Car batteries are super affordable too, they have new and refurbished ones. Have been coming here for over 10 years and will continue! read more

Staff is rude. Prices not too bad, poor stock. Guy was a di*k. Ambiance was pretty cool though. Seems like I walked into a time warp

Store's a blast from the past, decades before large big box chains like O' Reilly's, Autozone and Walmart cannibalized the industry. Walk in and it looks like your old-school favorite Army-Navy Supply store with odds & ends arranged in no particular order. I originally was referred to them by my local mechanic for a part, otherwise I would've never even been aware of them. Employees are mostly all elderly-retiree Silverback types, who are capable and efficient, if not overly energetic or friendly. Again, this is how auto parts stores used to be back in the day, harkening back to shopping places like Grand Auto or Ace Hardware in the 70's or 80's. Where the guy helping you might've had a pack of unfiltered Pall Mall cigarettes or tobacco pipe + pouch hanging out his front shirt pocket, lol. Pretty good prices for parts here. If they don't have it, they can order it for you and have it the next day usually. They are good about following thru with a phone call reminder. Most of their parts come with a warranty and they give you rebates for your cores on several parts (in my case a power steering pump). Good business and I always like supporting small local businesses over the national chains. Minus 1 star for the small, cramped and awkward-angled parking lot. Best entering from Sonoma Blvd. rather than from Couch St. to avoid a tricky-dangerous odd turn. read more

Great Customer service well staffed no long wait and the refurbished battery's are the best prices in town and the also come with a 60 day warranty I'll definitely shop here for all my automotive parts. read more

Great customer service. Had exactly what I needed in stock. Will definitely return for future needs!

I wouldn't go to this establishment if they where giving cars away. Extremely horrible service, I went to this store to support the smaller businesses in town, first time customer ,I went for a simple key fob battery which I know the number, some rude guy cut me off before I could tell him, "you goings have to open it up he snipped at me " which I left went to the chain store with no problem and I will continue to do so from now on. read more

Great service! I was told to purchase power steering fluid - any kind. So I found the stuff and grabbed a bottle from the shelf. The guy at the counter asked if I wanted that brand- I said I didn't care. So he went back to the shelf and got me a bigger bottle that cost half as much. Thank you for saving me money! read more

I used to consider Burt Williams a top of the line auto parts store... I went in to get shocks for my truck and they had no clue, went down the street to Napa auto parts, no problem. I brought back a core for a battery are bought there and they insisted I bring A paper receipt... I told them, "consider it a parting gift"... along with this yelp Review. Who, in the 21st-century, still insists on paper receipt ? read more

Started out with great customer service when purchasing an item. But when it was time to return it do to manufacturing defect the guy was getting angry telling me he doesn't care he didn't want to hear it basically telling me i screwed up and asked for the wrong part. Worst customer service. read more

Rude and try to sell you the janky stuff they have in stock rather than order what you want

I have been buying my auto parts from Bert Williams & Sons ever sense they came to Vallejo. They have help me find parts that are from the 1930s and 1940s for my trucks. I have newer trucks and cars too and they have all the parts I need to keep them going also. Very courteous and give me suggestions when I need good repairs. They are better then any auto parts chain stores. They have delivery service too. read more

I purchased a car battery from this store. Went home put the battery in my car and it started up! Great! The next day I go to get in my car it won't start. I figure it can't be the battery since I just installed a new one. Had a mobile mechanic take a look at my car and he stated that it might be the starter. I tow my car to a local mechanic and after they look it over they say your starter is fine it's the battery. I take the battery back to BWS with my receipt and I am told I have to leave the battery with BWS to see if it is a bad battery or if it just needs charging. I know the battery is bad but I leave it with them. I go next door and purchase a battery from AutoZone. I get home install the battery and everything works perfectly. I call BWS the next morning to find out the status of the battery. I am told that it in fact is a bad battery! I notified them that I already purchased another battery from AutoZone and since the battery was bad that I just want a refund on the battery. They told me they can exchange it but no refund will be given. I didn't understand!!! I wasn't trying to return a battery just for the hell of it or because I changed my mind. BWS sold me a bad battery which was not my fault at all and now they don't want to give me my money back! I have no need for 2 car batteries. This is a rip off and very unfair!!! Do not get anything from this store. Spend your time and money at a real auto parts store and save yourself the frustration and money!!! read more

Do not do business with Mike of BWS Vallejo, CA. I called BWS today and spoke to who I heard the name of Max to order a left side timing chain guide made heavy duty in metal and rubber in stead of the OEM plastic guide which break. I was placed oh hold while the supplier was contacted. I was then told it would cost me $19.00 an change and would arrive in one business day but I need to go in the store and prepay in person. So I go to the Vallejo store around 4:45 PM and I am asked at the counter what I needed. I explained I called earlier today and told him what I posted above about the part order. The person helping me who never introduced himself, has no name tag said I was the one and I am Mike. So I never figured out who Max and Mike are or one the same. Mike asked me for all the information all over again as if I never called. He made a second call to the same supplier and had the part looked up and the supplier and BWS had no picture of the chain guide. They went on google instead. Mike had a attitude already like he was stressed. He then said the part costs $19.00 and change and then added I had to pay an additional $9.00 for shipping to their store. I immediately asked Mike why he did not tell me the cost was $27.00 and change with shipping when I called. I said you lured me down here thinking I was to pay what he told me over the phone and then tell me my cost is 34 % more! I told him O'Riely the competitor store told me shipping an cost and I did not want added shipping cost because I could buy it on line with free shipping but a longer wait time for delivery. So I thought I had a good deal but not. He did not care and I got upset. So instead of apologizing and trying to make it right he just said out loud, "next customer". That is a good way to lose a long time customer like myself and they did. I am going to tell all my friends of my experience today. BWS you lost more than one customer today. Now former customer read more
