Horrible customer service, horrible quality. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Not worth the price you pay. Not just Vallejo location

Understaffed and prone to mistakes. They just wasted more than half of a day off by ordering the wrong parts. Brutal.

If I can give a -5 star I would. This is ridiculous! We scheduled an appointment for tire installation at 9 am and was told on the phone that it would be about an hour to an hour and a half. Checked in for our appointment and was told it would be 3 hours. Had we known we would have driven another car and picked up later. We decided to shop at Costco then Uber to have breakfast, came back and 5 hours later our car is still not ready. They literally just took the tires off the car. I wished I had read the reviews before scheduling the appointment for here. Exactly as some of the other reviews, what's the purpose of making an appointment!!! Needless to say we will never be coming back here and unless there is a drastic change in service improvements this PepBoy will not be in business long. This is beyond NOT GOOD!!!! read more

Ty was working yesterday and he was absolutely amazing! He was so helpful in getting my online appointment worked out for me and getting my car in with a flat tire. He went above and beyond in getting my car in and out and informed me of great warranty information and was so helpful from start to finish! On Mon. 9/8/25 I took my Toyota Sienna Van for a front brake job at this Pep Boys in Vallejo, CA and told them the brakes were spongy. Despite them doing the brake job the brakes were still spongy and not working right. Long story short. Bleeding the brakes and supposedly working on the car since Monday, the brakes still weren't working normally, so I paid them $574.39 on 9/11/25and drove the van slowly to my mechanic in Pinole, where Accutech Auto Care discovered that NONE of the screws to ANY of the brake calipers had been tightened!!! Accutech tightened them and also had to put in a rear back wheel stut. Result: the brakes worked perfectly once the screws were tightened and the complete brake job was corrected professionally and responsibly. I requested a refund from the manager at Vallejo Pep-Boys. Had an appointment at noon and we were told it would take an hour to an hour and 15. When we arrived we planned on going to cost co and grabbing lunch with our 2 year old. After lunch that took about 45 min we come back to see that our car hasn't even been touched. When we ask the clerk at the front says it's going to take 2 hours from the point of doing paperwork. Don't bother with this place. They clearly cannot manage customers. read more

Horrible experience. Got a lifetime alignment in 2022 and TRIED to use it yesterday and a tire rotation . Made an appointment at 1. It is pointless to make an appointment because they do not honor it. Went in and they said I'll be getting a call when it's done. Called at 4 they said my car will be next and they apologized. Called at 6 and they said again my car will be next. My husband called at 7 and same excuse. Mind you they close at 7. Left the house at 7:30 to pick up the car DONE or not. Got there and it still wasn't done. Said they were backed up . It seems they'll only see your car if they can get money up front. Never going back there again and I should Never have gotten their lifetime alignment. My car sat for 7 hours at their parking lot for nothing. A whole day wasted. read more

My car was taken here because I've used Pep Boys in the past. Now... my car had one flat and was sitting here for almost 24 hours. Not for lack of service. Four employees left their positions recently due to mistreatment by the company. The remaining employees bust their butts to keep everyone happy. KC is above and beyond the type of person you want to keep at any company. She assumes all rolls, she cares, she works hard and fast. Customers were unhappy with estimates. Employees were unhappy with work conditions. Pep Boys needs to invest in its employees. They are working so damn hard. Figure it out. read more

Definitely a place that gives "we don't take kindly to your kind" vibes. I called and asked if they do a drain and fill for ATF. The employee who answered was very nice and quoted me $140. I was impressed as the price wasn't bad considering other businesses that quoted me. I came in 2 days later and there was a young gentleman drinking his Jamba Juice and an older gentleman at the counter (both Caucasian). Took them about 20-30 seconds for them to acknowledge me while they finished there conversation/sentence on whatever they felt was important. They then looked at me up and down and gave me a look that only can be described as judgey and uncomfortable. They then told me they don't do transmission work and never have. They said they don't drain and fill at all and told me to go somewhere else. So what's going on? Do they or do they not? Someone gave misinformation. Or, they saw me made their implicit bias judgement and turned me away. Who knows? It's 2024 and i definitely felt some kind of way the way they looked at me and turned me away. My experience at Pep Boys in Vallejo was positive and pleasant. First, I went to their website and I bought tires online on a Sunday. There was a sale. The website said they would be available the next day. After my purchase, I immediately scheduled an appointment. They had open availability for the time I wanted, 4:30pm and for the next day, Monday! I was thrilled to be able to come so quickly! I also took the initiative to call Pep Boys Monday morning to confirm they had the tires in stock. I spoke with Don, the Manager, who was so helpful. He told me he would check and call me back. He kept his word. Don called me back to confirm he had the tires in stock and I was ecstatic. I was happy that the website didn't lie and that I could get my tires done that day. I confirmed to see him at 4:30pm. I checked in with Dino (I think that's his name) and dropped off my vehicle. I asked how long it would be and he said probably near closing time which is around 7pm. He said they would call me when it's ready. He was nice. I walked to Costco to shop while I waited. I did not receive a phone call, but decided to walk back. It was about 6:30pm when I returned and my vehicle was clearly still being worked on. I waited in the waiting room and I was able to watch the techs do their work through the window. The services department was a construction zone. The waiting room was open and clear but parts of it was being painted. I was on my phone playing games for a bit when Don, the Manager, approached me to give me an update. He said it wouldn't be long. At about 7:20pm, Don called out my name and he asked me what my schedule was like the rest of the week. With hesitation, I told him my availability. He said his tech had back to back wheel alignments and he didn't have enough time for mine. Don said it would take about an hour, no appointment needed, so I told Don I would be back the next day. Of course, not knowing what the next day would be like, if their service department was busy with other vehicles, Don did assure me that he would squeeze me in for the car to be finished. I came back the next day, around the same time (4:30pm) to get the vehicle aligned and Don was able to get the tech to work on my vehicle. I stayed in the waiting room this time and it took about 40-45 minutes. I was occupied with social media so it didn't seem that long. It was a minor setback to coming back another day but I was happy with everything. I also submitted a rebate form online which was very easy. Had a scheduled appointment at 11am. Was told by the service desk guy it would be a hour and half. I leave and come back in a hour and 15 minutes. Car is still sitting in there parking lot. Hasn't even been put on the rack. Came back 15 till to ask how longer it would be. Thinking it wasn't gonna take long needing only an alignment. The service guy then tells me it's gonna be another 40 minutes. 3.5 hours later, I'm still sitting here waiting. What's the point of an appointment, if it's gonna take all day to do a single service? But then I'm told the appointment was never made?!? Wtf!! How do have people working for you lying saying, yes we have those tires in stock?! Sent my son there Had issue with power steering. They gave him an un needed oil change , tune up and belt and reconditioned steering pump. I was at work when this happened. Needless to say it didn't resolve the problem. Steering pump was bad . Did I mention they took advantage of a kid with Autism? My family and I have been going to this Pep Boys location for nearly 10 years now. I'm sorry to say this, but we have never had an issue. I see all these 1 star reviews complaining about how long it takes or the customer service. They're not ignoring you, they're on the computer doing work and will get to you when they can. I've come here for alignments, oil changes, tune ups, simple air filter or wiper blade swaps. No issue with the result or employees that work there. Dino has always assisted me and helped informed me with any questions or concerns I had, so did other employees. Although I do remember this instance where I came in for an oil change and it took a bit longer because there was literally one technician. If you're gonna complain about service when they're short staffed, that goes to show you've never worked a day in customer service. I like it here and I will continue to come here. They're pretty good on pricing and always offer coupons online. read more

I have never had a good experience with Pepboys Vallejo. I purchased 4 tires, a lifetime alignment and also had brake services done. Every time I come in for a rotation or something wrong with my tires, I always have to spend at least 4 or more hours there. They tell you that you're next and your car just sits in the parking space. They need more staff and to do better with scheduling appointments. Appointments doesn't mean anything especially when you have to wait over 4 hours for a simple tire repair or rotation. read more

Disappointing I went there because their website said they had Continental tire & the prices - to match what I already have. Got at appointment time and NO they don't have ANY of those grrrrr nearest match was a Cooper for $20 more -@ $160 grrrrr tire has been going low for couple of weeks so was getting very nervous using it - so went ahead and approved --- total come up to @ $247. FOR 1 TIRE FOR C'SAKE grrrrrr other 3 sidewall & tread are good looking to me - still have life in them. I used P boys cause they are close to me but when I replace the next 3 it will be at Big O. Inspite of the bad reviews i saw on Yelp, i gave it a try hoping those wont happen to me but sadly i, myself experienced that some of those are true. I brought my car for a tire replacement around 10am and when i came back around 4:30pm, i saw they didnt even touch the car. They cant even explain why they did nothing to the car and seems dont care at all. They didnt even bother to call me to let me know that they're not fixing the car. I purchased the lifetime wheel alignment many moons ago like a lot of the reviewers here. Made an appointment for 11:00 on 8/20/24 for an alignment. I came in at my appointment time and checked in my car I was told that there are 2 cars ahead of me I was like I had an appointment but I let it go and I was promised it will be between 1.5-2 hrs I waited on the waiting area then I got bored decided to eat lunch at the habit burger across the street and ate slow since I know I have to wait for my car . Then right after eating I came back it must have been 1.45 mins past and I see that my car was at the same spot so I watched TV in the waiting area and kept on waiting. 2.5 hrs later my car is on the same spot. So I came up to the Asian dude that checked me in for an update he told me that the guy is on break I was like WTF, so I asked for my key and just left. Why create a booking process and you guys can't deliver you guys are wasting peoples time. You guys should just close shop it will be better for the community. I made an appointment for an oil change one week in advance, for a great price; however upon arriving they first tried to change the oil to full synthetic, jacking up the price. Once I got that fixed I waited one hour with no word and I had my dog, it was raining and I was outside. I went in to ask about the wait and the very nice cashier came back quoting a 2 hours wait. I ok my keys and waited 2 more hours in my car with no word watching them close up shop. I then had to go in and just cancel the whole service. Paid for all 4 new tires next day the actual tire that had a nail in it that I paid for to be replaced is back on flat so they have a deal but 3 get 1 free I believe they never replaced the tire and just took the nail out because no way it should be flat the next day also they take very long to install tires as well read more
