I usually just go elsewhere due to high prices, minimal parking, impersonal interactions. The counterman did drop what he was doing and came out right away to scan our check engine light. This NAPA auto parts took full advantage of this. First when I came in to get the parts I needed I was busy trying to keep my 3 year old from trashing the store so the sales man, yes they work off commission got me the most expensive replacement parts. After realizing what happened I went to return the unopened parts only to get push back. Luck for the sales man my credit card had been stolen so he told me without the card there was nothing he could do. I explained that I live in another state where there were no NAPA Auto Part stores and asked what I should do. He actually said keep their parts I was able to get for 1/4 the cost. I had a shop do the work, provide the parts including insurance, and it was still less then what I was charged for just parts. The manager was also not helpful telling me to wait two weeks then she would be able to process a refund without the credit card. Again... I'm from out of state and clearly told them this. Maybe they just don't know how to use their machine, but I have worked in retail and have processed many returns without the credit card. Mind you I had the receipt in hand. No solution offered at all. No help what's soever! On my way out of CA I stopped at another NAPA Auto Parts. They also gave me a hard time. They processed the return and explained they work off commission and their store will now be hit with the return. So NAPA in Napa took advantage of me, lied to me, and gave me really bad service. I had Joe's replace two front seat covers on my Mercedes. He told me to go online and buy them and…read morehe would install..."make sure to get OEM", he said. So I did exactly that, and when I went to install he cast doubt whether they were OEM, "never had heard of " the outlet where I got them. Later changed his story to "worked with them many times". He installed, complaining about having to sew the seat heaters back in because I'd bought the wrong ones without seat heater in them (again, your'e the pro, let me know what to buy). Charged me way extra for doing that. Picked up the car, visibly just an ok job. But Air Bag Sensor lights lit up, indicating they were doubtfully working, AND the seat heaters didn't work at all. Took it back, he stated "I put it back together just the way it was" but he could not reset the air bags (not the appropriate equipment - he should know that and advise). He was done. I had to spend another $200 to have the air bag sensors reset at a reputable shop. My main objection is that his stories changed, he lied about what worked and wasn't willing to meet negotiate a settlement. All I can say is I don't trust this business!

HOWEVER, he quickly looked on his computer and, before we were done, gave me the names, phone numbers, and locations of 2 other companies that DID carry my part and even quoted me the price they were asking! The entire exchange was under 5 minutes! Now THAT's service. I will remember these guys. Best service ever. I have a mini Cooper and was having a major battery issue and they said they could see me right away, and I made it to their location and they could not have been nicer. Was able to help me with my car, get me a new battery right away. With my car, it takes almost a half an hour to get the battery out and then another half an hour to get the battery in and Dave was kind and efficient and really made me feel like my car was in good hands. I will definitely go to them in the future for any of my car needs and know that they will take good care of me and my car. I really cannot say enough of what a wonderful experience I had.
