He goes above and beyond, he tries to resolve issues in a professional manner, and is a gem to this company. The service department here is excellent. All the guys are great and super helpful. I've come here numerous times for random things when I didn't have an appointment and they always take me in and figure out what's going on. Most recently I had my last Subaru get totaled in an accident. The service department set me up with a rental at a great price and even picked me up from the collision shop. I stopped by to pick up the receipt for insurance and mentioned an issue with the TPS sensor with the older Subaru I bought (not from them) They offered to take a look right then and even noticed my headlight was out. I haven't driven it at night so I had no idea. They even offered to find a coupon for me so the replacement was quick and super reasonable. I was in the market for a new car, and after whittling down our list to a handful of vehicles, my wife and I decided to go with a 2025 Subaru Legacy. I saw a premium model at my local dealer. Unfortunately, none of the dealers in the greater Sacramento area were really willing to work with us on the price or custom order one. I bought my first car years ago at Hanlees Toyota in Davis and messaged the team at Hanlees Subaru in Napa. Cherry was amazing from the beginning. The process was quite simple, and within minutes, they gladly custom ordered my new car at a great price. She did a great job keeping me notified along the way, and the car was even delivered four days ahead of time. I scheduled a time to come in for a test drive and to do the paperwork a few days after they received it. Mike in financing was great to work with, and I was out of there within 90 minutes. They checked in afterward to ensure I've been satisfied. It's my first but likely not my last Subaru. Brought my Subaru in expecting the usual dealership chaos -- confusion, miscommunication, and maybe a surprise bill for something I didn't even know existed. But then I met Christian, and suddenly it felt like I was in the VIP section of the service department. I gave him the most vague description of what was wrong with my car, and somehow he not only understood me, but explained the issue back in a way that made me feel like I actually knew what was going on. Miracle. He kept me updated the whole time -- seriously, I've had less communication during actual medical procedures. I set up an appointment on 9/4 because my 2022 Subaru Crosstrek was not blowing cold air. Apparently a common problem with a google search. The day before on 9/3 I called service and asked if this repair would be covered under my warranty. I paid the $3k for the warranty. I was told that the car would have to be inspected first to determine what the problem was before they would know if the repair was eligible under warranty. I asked what the inspection fee was and was told $225. I came to my appointment with Kevin at 9:45am and was 15 minutes early. Explained why I was there. I was told by Kevin that there would be a $325 charge. I asked why the fee was $100 more when I called yesterday and was told it would be $225 to which he responded "I don't know who told you that" while glaring at his co-workers and then he mumbled under his breath he would charge me $225 if that was what I was told. At this point I have lost all confidence and faith in Kevin. I waited 2 hours and 15 minutes and when Kevin came and spoke with me in the waiting room he said he parked the car in the sun and turned it on and it was not blowing cold air and that he would need 3-4 more hours to find out what was wrong. I took my car and left. I only came to Subaru service since I have a warranty. I made an appointment and waited over 2 hours for him to tell me he parked my car in the sun and confirmed that it was not blowing cold air? He didn't even check anything else. Kevin was rude, arrogant and condescending. Then I got a call the next day from a Karen who asked me how my service was I sent her a long text explaining exactly what I am writing here and received zero acknowledgment or response. Karen served no purpose at all. Kevin was worse. My entire purchase to service experience with Subaru has been absolutely horrible and I cannot recommend Subaru ever. I will go back to purchasing from Toyota from now on. I should have purchased from Toyota from the start. Your service and sales team need to work on customer service skills. They're awful. Choosing what car you want is the easiest part of buying a new whip. The hard part (and the most time consuming) is all the paperwork involved in finances and payment. Cherry C. was my sales consultant and she walked me through the process. I wanted an Impreza Hatchback and I was able to get the color and the trim I saw online. Once I selected the car I desired, Cherry assisted me in moving forward to complete the transaction. She was clear in explaining the cost and fees as well as the extended warranty options. It did take some time with all the paperwork, but Cherry was very patient with me; there was no rush, despite the whole process taking a few hours. I felt very comfortable in my decision making. I mean, the last thing you want is a pushy salesperson whilst trying to complete a big purchase. Cherry made my car buying experience a good one. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to drive off with my new whip the same day due to car insurance issues on my part, so they offered to drive the vehicle to my home on the following day, now that's great customer service. I had some further questions regarding maintenance on my car so I decided to email Cherry and she was quick to reply back to my questions and concerns. These stellar professionals (Carlos- this guys a manager? wow.) Just didn't feel like selling a car. Had 12-13k worth of negative equity (no disputing that). Using my trade-in VIN number, on their dealership website- I received what they expected to give me for my trade. (look at the photo, 27k-29k) In person, without even looking at my vehicle they stated 24k. (although shady and not good faith business practice; still not a deal breaker) Carlos in person stated that the MSRP of my vehicle is 28k, I invited him to see the sticker in my glove compartment which states 33k. As you can imagine, he didn't walk outside to "look" at my vehicle, let alone the window sticker I had. My preferred Credit Union gave me a full approval for FULL MSRP of vehicle using new vehicle's VIN (45K MSRP). I had a lender letter for the dealership with me. In the morning, I went to my local Credit Union-Transferred 5k on current Vehicle Loan to absorb some of that negative equity. Plus, I withdrew 5k in cash and took it to dealership with me. I make $5-7k a week! When I arrived at the dealership, I was passed on to Carlos (manager) and right off the bat, the body language and words were very negative and not friendly what-so-ever. (look at the security footage, arms crossed while standing the entire time) Spoke to him and stated that I had made some changes to the accounts and out of good faith, I was here to get this deal done. If the owner or GM cares enough, look at the video todays date just after lunch timeframe. Carlos continually stated, "they" had been reaching out to me and his system records everything. I'm here in person! Let's get this done. It's less than 50k, it can't be that hard- I even Brough my own financing! Even if I had 15k of negative equity, I had already paid down 5k that morning, I had another 5k on hand; couldn't I have just put the rest of my debit card/ credit card? The car was listed for sale at 41k plus TTL, I had a loan for 45K. We were less than 5k from figuring out a solution. THEY (Ron/Carlos/Billy Davis) just didn't CARE ENOUGH to look into the specific details/numbers. Billy Davis, why bother sending an email that states " I am willing to do whatever is possible to earn your business". I replied to your email, quickly; did you have the courtesy of responding back and being a GM that not only talks the talk but walks the walk. Of course not, never heard back from you. At this point, the vehicle could be free- I will never waste my time driving out there to that small dealership. The red flag for me should have been that it has so many 2022's on its lot. I just wanted this small Subaru for my daily driver. What a pathetic experience, it's laughable. My other cars are 2021 ZL1, 2019 AMG CLA 45, 2017 340i xDrive As you can imagine, the Subaru would be the daily driver. No thanks! read more

I can only speak to the initial conversation and bargaining process. I Ventured out of my immediate area to look for better deals on a 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness. Ron Cooper reached out to me and immediately gave me an OTD without all of the games and tricks a "normal" dealer would try on you. Not only that, but it was a deal much lower than anyone I had reached out to. I didn't end up going with them as I was able to find a similar deal much closer to home (I live in Southern California), but if I weren't able to find a deal, you best bet I would fly up to Napa and drive that baby down myself. read more

Bought our car here, but I wish we hadn't. Sales guy who showed us the car and its features was nice, but the finance guy who actually sold us the car was just horrible. (Literally, the shit he put us through is THE reason why many people now prefer to buy a car online, the kind of person who gives car salesmen the reputation they have). After looking at the car, we waited for an hour to do the actual contract and once we were in the office, the finance guy put on this insulting show (lots of sighs of exasperation, lots of telling us that these are the extras he literally sold his own son, so why were would we refuse? Laying it on extremely thick, to the point of clear manipulative tactics). Was this because we were two women? I'll never know. Meanwhile, we were about to make a 29k decision and deserved a few minutes to talk in private about the service package we wanted or didn't want. Ultimately, I walked out of the dealership feeling extremely angry, which was the opposite of how I wanted to feel buying my first new car with my partner. Also, partly because of the horrible finance/final paperwork/sales guy, we declined all the extras. His information felt so dishonest that it was impossible to even accept any of the options. At the end, the "nice" initial salesman, who showed us the car, acted surprised when we said the finance guy had been really rough. His surprise felt insincere. The people who work at this dealership have to know that they're not treating customers well. Bottom line for buyers, especially women: go elsewhere. Bottom line for this dealership: maybe you should realign your values with basic human decency. You even might make more money that way. The end. read more
