ALERT: Send the old white guy manning the counter to customer service training. We went here yesterday to find snow tires chains. It was our first time to try to get one because I'm taking my kids up for tubing at sugarbowl for the first time. We couldn't find any on the shelves do we went up the counter to ask. Old white man unfortunately was the one available to help. When we asked, he brashly said, "well yeah, we're not gonna put it out there so you guys can just grab it and leave!" As if we're thieves. So okay, we let that go. He proceeded to be rude the whole entire encounter. He grabbed the thing and said, "well anything else you need? You gonna get it or not?" Without even telling me how much it was. So he told me $150, no other options and I said we'll look around more. He said ok, goodbye! And I left there feeling like even if I have the money I will never buy anything from that place! Incredibly rude! I went to autozone which gave me wonderful service. DON'T GO HERE. Crazy rude. As she put the phone down to check on my request, she failed to put me on hold and I was left in the unfortunate position to hear her make a comment trying to invalidate Juneteenth as a holiday with her coworker. Daniel, the manager, was very understanding and helpful in the situation. Bought a car battery, put it in at the store, and it was the wrong size. Never had an experience like this before. Different staff members were coming in and out of the store, looking under the hood, trying my fuses even. After about 30 minutes of waiting around, a different battery was installed, and boom I finally got it changed, then had to change my receipt for the new battery. I was stranded, so I had to have my battery replaced so I could go home. Ann was awesome. She made me feel comfortable with the situation. I would have liked to come back and talk to the manager named mike about this, but it seems like every time I go there, either they're crowded, or there's someone behind the counter that I can explain everything to and start this all over again. I am leaving a 5-star review for CJ exclusively. A couple of months ago I came to this location for brake pads and rotors and the initial interaction with the staff gave prejudice. They were condescending and short but CJ came to the rescue. He was extremely knowledgeable and had the most pleasant disposition. He was practically running the store himself while the other two staff members cherry-picked who they wanted to help. As a manager myself, I would have been highly disappointed with my staff but the manager on duty was one of the main perpetrators. I returned today for more items and again CJ was there ready to help. He is the only reason I would ever give this location any of my hard-earned money and deserves a promotion. read more

Everytime I go in there they say there oil tank is full. So they either need to call for a pick up more often or its not full and they dont want to take the time to take it to the back and dump it. I dont know but they got to fix this. read more

They hired an idiot (Daniel) . Was sold the wrong oil & filter . Oil filter came off and all the oil, except a court drained out my car ( almost blowing out my engine) and caused oil to spray all over my engine and the car to sound like a Diesel or lawn mower. Returned to talk to them regarding this problem and they sold me a discounted oil filter and oil again without taking any type of responsibility from selling the wrong stuff to begin with. This was my first time at this location. I ended up with battery acid on my hand so they were kind enough to escort me back to the restroom so I could clean up. Yesterday, the El Cerrito store sold me the wrong battery. After getting to my friend's van, I realized I should take it back. They had told me I could as long as the terminals were not connected (ie the plastic insulators not removed). I ended up having to take it back to O'Reilly in Vallejo and exchange it for the longer one. They then gave me a long one but with the terminals on the wrong side. Of course I didn't figure this out until the battery set in place. When I took that battery back again, I checked the screen the guy pulled up and it wasn't even for a van, it was for a pick-up truck. After correcting him, I double checked the info and there was ONE option only. The one I needed had a dash in the model number and one with the terminals had an R (for right no doubt since mine needed terminal posts on the left). Why these guys can not look up a simple part and match the model number exactly with what they give you is beyond me. I would double check the screen or the part against the old part yourself if you don't want to spend three trips running back and forth to the store like I did. read more

This store (Vallejo) took advantage of a 60 year old woman drriving a 1994 Lexus. She asked for spark plugs as she wanted a tune up before a smog inspection. The bill came to $88 or $14 per spark plug! When she said that seemed expensive, the clerk spun around his monitor and pointed at the most expensive platinum plugs available and said "see these are the ones for your car". What he didn't tell her is that they carry several other plugs for her car and that the ones for $2.50 each would have been just fine (expensive platinums last longer but are a gimmick as they don't perform as well as cheap copper tops), they didn't tell her she could have done better with a total of $15. To add insult the car failed smog and of course they wouldn't take them back once installed. I later learned they are on commission and had the cheap plugs in stock. Shame on those SOBs for taking advantage of her. She is on social security income and they knew she was driving a 19 year old car. Merry Christmas you Bastards! read more

Came in to return an alternator that was not compatible with my car , the manager refused to refund the money saying I needed to get it tested on my car first. I tired explaining to him that i had gotten it tested twice already and he refused to refund my money still. I decided to drive up to the location on springs road and I got my return no problem . I went this afternoon to the Sonoma Boulevard store and I was met by a older white or Latino female who looked at me , rolled her eyes and turned her head as I approached her for service. when she did that she turn back around and asked if she could help me and I said to her politely No thank you I will wait for someone else. she is very very rude and it was obvious. Can't get more rude. I went in to get Trans oil and a gas can, went to the counter with no one there and waited. Sales 'lady' comes to a different part of the counter and starts waiting on someone who just came in. I waited and then the clerk started helping a guy that came in well after me. I left; I'll pay more somewhere else rather than be treated that way. (Americans USED to have manners) I just wish if they don't want to sell to me, they say so instead of making me wait. Went in for transmission fluid and new windshield wipers was in and out in 10 minutes. Ovaiz even put the wipers on for me and also suggested I buy a gallon instead of two quarts because it was the same price. It wasn't packed but they still had a lot going on and I was greeted upon arrival. Great service will definitely be back! read more

This used to be known as Kragan Auto parts. First off let me tell you that the other Oreilly auto parts stores are great and I give them 5 stars for sure but this one is the black eye of the bunch. The manager is always hiding from the counter. When there is a problem he is nowhere to be found but when you see nobody at the counter he pops his face in for a second to give the staff orders and disappears again. Now the staff, wow, let me tell you about them and why I give this place one star. There are 2 ladies who work most the time and they are the laziest inconsiderate cashiers I have ever met. If the computer went down they wouldn't know what in the world to do. They never want to help test anything if it involves going out to your vehicle even if it is parked right up to the front door. This only implies to the Mexican lady and the Indian lady. Boy these 2 are as bad as they come. I'm telling you now if you need a free test of your electrical system or any other type of help at your vehicle do not go to this store! Go to the other Oreilly or better yet go to AutoZone! AutoZone is cheaper and they are always available to help with any test or whatever your needs. read more
