Having driven (yes, bad) from Berkeley once before to buy an obscure battery quickly, I drove again this week to get a battery for two phones. All staff, Daniel in particular, were helpful, casual, friendly, and (maybe minus 1) didn't make me feel inept with my questions. Rarely reviewing anywhere, I owe for the service received here. Upon my phone call, they checked shelves for batteries I needed. Next, out of courtesy and curiosity, Daniel had opened my phone with his official training (phone manufacturer) to review the diagnosis I'd had from an East Bay fixer. He found that any diagnosis of the charging port couldn't have been completed as I'd been told, and he found damage inside the phone. He demonstrated skill with the interior that the first place hadn't inspired. He referred me to a high-skilled repair place in Santa Rosa (I'll mail this time) . On my first visit years ago, I learned of useful products that I didn't know existed. I noticed this time that all Staff appear to love fussing with electrical things. Needed some oddball batteries that we didn't carry where I work so I figured I'd try Batteries Plus... OK well I guess it's Batteries Plus Bulbs now. Asked for the specific battery I needed, left without looking too carefully, got where I was going, and realized it was the wrong one after opening the new package. Went back, they were very apologetic and gracious about exchanging the batteries for the correct ones even though I'd already destroyed the packaging. I was going to leave four stars since they did sell me the wrong ones the first time even though I was clear about what I needed but it's a simple mistake and we're all human and so five stars it is. I think that the price I paid was reasonable. Sure $7 more than Amazon for the same 12-pack of the oddball batteries I needed but it's a local store and I got instant gratification so I'm not complaining about that. When I had a need for several (25+) cr2032 coin batteries, it struck me they may have a volume discount or some such here and yes they not only stock the batteries but sell them at the best price around. Everything was a go and I arranged my schedule around it. Bought an e-bike from my roommate. The battery needed to be replaced and was pretty much obsolete. I walked in on a Friday to see if they could source the battery, but was told it was pretty much going to be impossible. The sales person at the time advised I come back in when "Chuck" is around - he builds batteries. Well that's pretty much exactly what Chuck did for me - build a battery. We took the original battery housing and filled it with 6 x 6 volt batteries at 7.5 amps. It fit like a charm.
