This place was amazing! I called ahead to see if they can replace a watch battery for me, and the gentleman who answered the phone was very polite and invited me to come down anytime. As soon as I got there I was greeted immediately with a very friendly and helpful attitude. The gentleman not only replaced the battery in my watch in less than five minutes, he said my watch on the correct time and date for me without me even asking. I normally don't give out a full 5 stars, but I must say, this place delivered when it came to fixing my iPhone. It was already a bad day, and my iPhone 6s's screen cracking was just the icing on the cake. I searched around, looked at prices and finally settled on Batteries Plus Bulbs. The location is on my way home from work so it felt very convenient, and that's just the beginning of why I will go back to that place if I ever clumsily drop my phone again (which, I really hope I don't). First of all, everyone there was absolutely pleasant. Honorary mention to Sugar, who greeted me at the door. She was possibly the best store greeter I have ever met, I hope she gets a raise. Then, the man who helped me, Chuck, was absolutely excellent. He was very charismatic and it felt more like he was helping me rather than this just being a dry business transaction. I felt welcomed, and it made me feel immediately comfortable with leaving my phone in their hands. He gave me an estimate on when I could pick up my phone, and he was exactly on time! The help I received most recently at Batteries+Bulbs hearkens back to a time when local businesses cared more about building relationships than selling products. These folks are solutions-based wattage wizards, who were all too happy to jump on my recent fubar. I purchased a motorcycle battery late last year and, genius that I am, left my light on overnight. My battery tender had no effect after 3 days, so I brought it in. Taking the time to educate the layperson, Daryl (along with help from Jeff and Chris, if I remember the names correctly), "shocked" my battery back to life. I was completely prepared to take the loss, but these good fellas were able to get me back on the road for a nominal service fee. Who'dathunk a specialized battery store would be in such high demand?! On two different occasions, I needed a laptop battery and fast. One time they had it, the other time they did not. My recommendation is to definitely call to ensure they have your battery in inventory before going there. They have a fairly large inventory, but certainly not everything. Not happy with their customer service. I bought a $250 car battery less than a year ago. My mechanic could not get it to hold a charge so I called and the sails person said to bring it in and they would replace it. I brought it in and they said it was very discharged. Then the guy said that the battery had been abused and I was a battery abuser. Needless to say there are a lot of retailers that like their return customers and no need to use these guys. read more

When they were building this store a few years back I scratched my head. A battery store. Why not the scotch tape store, or the change of name store, or the peppermint patty store. I mean, how can they have much diversified stuff. Well, this place does. So, I never came into to place until a few months back. They have batteries of course,) and not just the ABCD or the DDDs, but light bulbs, computer batteries, phone accessories plus phone batteries, watch batteries, car batteries and all types of stuff yet didn't see an adult toy department sorry to say. For a small store there are many interesting things that you spend time looking around at. Also, the staff is quite good and sort of remind me of the folks on Pawn Stars in a way. The only issue I have is that the prices are not the best but decent enough as to avoid the big box mess. So, looking for a charge to lighten up your day, plug in here. read more

I took my camera to a camera store because the battery seemed to no longer hold a charge. The camera store didn't sell the battery I needed, but recommended this place & I'm so glad they did! These guys know their stuff. I got a new battery from them only to learn it wasn't the battery that was the issue. I took back the battery a couple days later & they took the time to troubleshoot with me until the mystery was solved & I went home with a new battery charger (almost an even trade for the battery they happily welcomed back to their inventory). I love that Batteries Plus is open 7 days a week. They sell lightbulbs, flashlights, lanterns & so many other fun things besides batteries of all shapes & sizes. i wrote a review months ago when I was looking for a cellphone charger. I had gone to radio shack and they tried to sell me a new phone.Then I stopped at batteries plus, and 12 dollars latter...i had a charger. this was not the first time I had been bailed out by the amazing staff... so today I walk in with a yamaha keyboard under my arm, and ask them if they have a adapter.. ."Dont have one" they seem dubious... they ask me questions, they peruse the yamaha with a magnifying glass...finally the decide they might have something that works... These guys are interested in solving your problem. They built my a battery pack for my camera strobe which was superior and less costly than the factory one. When I had an out of warranty issue on one of their car batteries they went above and beyond to get me back on the road. They spent time with me to help determine the origin of the power issues I was having. They may be part of a franchise but they operate like a local store who cares about their customer's needs. read more

They have a huge sign in the window advertising that they change watch batteries. I brought in two watches. Neither of the watches were particularly tricky or fancy. They were both $100 - $150 watches from a regular department store. One they broke and returned to me in pieces (he said he didn't know how to put it back together). I had to throw it away. The other watch he scratched the face of quite badly. Then, they had the nerve to charge me. They damaged one watch and broke the other and charged me for it. I now drive around a mile out of my way (I live right near Batteries Plus) and battle downtown parking to go to Radio Shak. I also dis this place every chance I get. I brought 2 watches here to have the batteries replaced. Both watches worked when I brought them in. When the salesperson gave me the watches back I noticed that one of them was not working. I brought this to the salespersons attention and they said that this happens sometimes and walked away from me. I asked the manager what I needed to do and he said that I needed to take the watch to a repair shop to be fixed. After a couple of hours I noticed that the second watch had stopped working as well. I sent both watches back to the manufacturer for repair. The manufacturer said that both watches had the incorrect battery installed and that the watch movement was damaged as a result of the batteries being forced into the watch during the installation. read more

bought a battery for my motorcycle less then a year ago.after less then 1000 miles driving the battery is shot. took battery back to store, they confimed faulty battery.was told only six month warranty, need to purchase a new battery. Was told the bike has to be ridden weekly for the battery to stay healthy which is BS. Using a trickle charger when bike sit for a while.Was told to speak to owner next day regarding warranty replacement.Went back next day, spoke to owner, no interest of replacement or even a discount. was told its probably the bike that is the problem but also its not unusual these batteries need to be replaced in a year! Few things irk me more than businesses that have no regard for their posted hours of operation. I arrived at Batteries + Bulbs one evening at 7:44 to pick up a battery. Just as I pulled up in front of the store, someone turned off the lights. I tried the door - it was locked. I double-checked the posted hours on the door and confirmed that I wasn't crazy; the store closed at 8:00 that day. I could glimpse someone moving around through the window in the back door, but with no other choice, I just left. This wasn't me barging in at 7:59; there were still 16 minutes left. Here's the issue with not having the discipline to stay open when you say you are: 1. Customers feel duped. People make plans around the times you say you're going to be open and rely on the accuracy of the information to get important things done. This wasn't a holiday, there wasn't a note posted about a family emergency...it was just a lazy employee who decided, "meh, I wanna go home now". If you make people feel like they've wasted their time for no reason, they won't be back. 2. Even customers who still like you won't trust you. The instant you break a customer's trust in your hours, they won't take a chance because it's a coin toss. If it's 7:00 pm and I need something, I won't be going to Batteries + Bulbs because it may be in vain. You can have a great product for competitive prices, market well, and have courteous service....it's all for nothing if you bleed customers by closing on a whim. Your logic may be, "well, I close early because there were no customers", but the truth is that over time, you stop having customers towards the end of business BECAUSE YOU CLOSE EARLY. Here's the thing - I really don't care what time you close! Truly, close at noon for all I care. I just want to have an honest expectation, and if you're in a customer-facing business, it's imperative to communicate that. Today, I just went and got what I needed at Electronics Plus, also on 4th Street. Here's the thing - you're not just losing out on a battery sale to a single customer; you're losing out on a lifetime of sales to that customer, along with referrals, word of mouth, reviews, etc. It adds up to many thousands of dollars. Think about your customer acquisition costs next time you want to shaft loyal customers for no reason. read more

The battery on my camera suddenly died out, and after trying to re-charge it a couple of times, I gave up. I looked in the camera maker's website for a replacement, and it was $60!! I figured I might as well get a new cam! Then, after a few weeks of moping around w/o my cam, I remembered Batteries Plus, I dropped by, and sure enough they had a few options for me... And at half the price!! They were very informative and helpful. While we were there my son was wearing his Ben-10 omnitrix and it was acting up, so we asked if that battery could be replaced also. Took my phone to batteries plus and asked for a screen repair and to repair my ear phone because it sounded like a blown speaker. Total came out to $189.00 with all repairs, which I thought was high but agreed and signed estimate. I left my phone with them at 2:30 PM. I was told it would be ready by 530. I received an email at 5:15 saying it wold instead be ready by 730pm. Got there at 7:30 and my screen was not repaired and neither was my earpiece. The repair guy seemed clueless as to what was required of the work order. Said speaker was fine and didn't realize he had to change my cracked screen. Feeling frustrated it took them five hours to do nothing to my phone. Taking my phones to get repaired somewhere else. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had due to lack of communication on the part of the management. I have a warranty with a third party that has stores deemed "authorized" to fix your device when it is damaged. This was the store closest to me so I brought my phone in for a screen replacement. When I came in the next day, my phone had a new screen, but it wouldn't turn on. The employees ran around trying to figure out the problem as the person working on the phone left no notes and, wouldn't you believe it, he wasn't in that day. They finally figure out that I needed to hook the phone up to a computer with iTunes and it would reset the phone. Apparently a store authorized to fix Apple devices doesn't have a computer with iTunes. Right. I thought this was weird, but took it home and tried it. The phone did restart, but the screen wouldn't work. I called the company that did my warranty and they talked with Scott. They assured me that I would get my phone fixed based on the conversation they had with Scott. I also called Scott who told me to "come on in" and that a technician would look at my phone. I arrived at the store not 30 minutes after hanging up with Scott to find that he was not there, and that no one could look at my phone unless he was there. So he basically wasted my time driving all the way down there when he had no intention of staying to work this out with me. I left my phone and asked the store to please call me at work when they were able to figure out the solution. I'm now on about a week without a working phone. What's one more day? In the end, the store refused to fix my phone claiming that there were screws missing from it, and therefore they had no liability in it not working after the repair. I'm a second grade teacher. I'm not spending my free time opening up my iPhone and taking screws out of it for fun. Obviously whoever worked on my phone was the one messing with the screws. The worst part is that there was absolutely no communication from Scott to me on this. Even though he was the point person, he left it to other employees to relay messages second and third hand until I was so confused and frustrated I just took my phone and went home. I don't recommend anyone ever get their phone fixed here as they are obviously incompetent and have no desire to actually resolve issues with customers. I visited this store on Friday, February 8 2013 - although I don't normally follow through with reviews (positive or negative) I felt that my experience there on Friday was worthy of a follow up. First, let me admit that this is one of my favorite stores to visit, even though I am not there very often. Call me a bit of a geek, but walking into a store with a battery for virtually everything is fun. My positive review though has nothing to do with that. My company manufacturers battery operated irrigation controllers. A recent addition to the product line is a cloud based controller that was initially conceived with the idea that we will utilize lithium batteries. We have since made a switch to standard "D" Cells, because we were concerned that the Lithiums would be difficult to source. And - as it turns out, even the Batteries Plus store didn't carry them in the assembly that we required - two D Cell lithium batteries packaged with Diodes and other thingies that make them work. Even though these guys did not have them in stock - Chuck, came to the rescue! He looked at the assembly and quickly got to work, fashioning a perfect reproduction of what I came into the store with. In others words, using his magical MacGyver like skills, Chuck took some misc parts and pieces and made a new battery for me on the spot! What a great experience - surely one that will keep me coming back for more! read more

These guys rock! I had a power outage at my place up in Cotati that also revealed a UPS battery that had gone dry. This I discover on a Friday night when the UPS starts beeping relentlessly and it won't turn off and I work from home. What a drama. Anyways, I start to figure out how am I going to get a new battery for my UPS on a Friday night when I remember these guys. So I give them call and they have my battery, but it's 20 minutes to close and I live over 30 minutes away. More drama. However, during the call the guy reveals that he lives up in Petaluma not 10 minutes away. So I ask him if he could bring the battery up with him and I would pick it up from his house. Great service at this Batteries Plus location. I've came here many times for numerous things, car battery, flashlight batteries, tempered glass, and few times for iPhone screen replacements. Staff has been very helpful and easy to work with except for one experience with a staff member but I've let that go as it was corrected by another employee on a later date-can't remember name, nice guy. Last time around I was in for an iPhone charge port replacement. When plugging it in it felt loose and I would have a very hard time getting it to charge. I figured the walls of the port had worn down. After dropping it off and going home, I got a call from Chuck saying to pick it up because the port was just full of dust which they cleaned out for free. Charge cord clicks right in now and charges instantly! Highly recommend! read more

Don't trust the online scheduling ap. The individual stores may not have staff who are capable of performing phone repairs that you schedule with said ap. I'm miffed after scheduling twice to have my Samsung Note 5 battery replaced. First appt. they canceled because a staff member was sick. The second appt. I showed up on time, only to be told the staff weren't comfortable replacing the battery unless they also replaced the screen module at the same time. Since my screen is in perfect shape (thanks Otterbox!) that was an unacceptable solution for me. The store manager took zero responsibility for the online scheduling ap, or for the inconvenience Batteries and Bulbs caused me. Hence, one star. read more

Their product is far superior to that available in parts houses and their service blows out the other leading commercial battery provider. Earlier today, my iphone took a dive. Upon googling cell phone repair, they were at the top of the list. They not only did the repair in an hour but for half of what I expected to pay. You can count on a good repair from these guys, not only because they have training and integrity, but also because they are not in the business of selling phones, they repair them. iPhone Wi-Fi grey out, went to the store, quoted $69 dollars on the web. Staff are friendly and seems helpful. They told me if I want my battery replaced while they have the iPhone open up for $25 more I said sure why not. 2 days later I call they said the phone is ready, they suppose to call me but didn't , end up I call them to find out status no big deal was a spare phone anyways. I was in no rush. Once at store they said they can't fix the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but however they put a new battery and screen protector for me and charge me $59.99 Well I went to them for Wi-Fi issue , if they could not fix it they should've let me know before putting the battery and screen protector (actually I decline the screen protector service when I check in the phone with the customer agent) Now I have a broken phone with a new battery and screen protector. I purchased a Duracel AGM Platnum Plus marine battery two years ago with a 48mo full replacement warranty. After two years the battery went dead and would not hold a charge. I expected to get a replacement battery and was told they would not honor the warranty because the volts were below 10 and there must be neglect on the owners part. I have brought the battery inside when not in use and kept it charged. When a company offers a warranty you expect them to stand behind the product and push it off on the customer. I have lost all faith in this company that I have done business with for over 8 years and will never buy another product from them. read more

I will admit that when this place first opened I thought a store dedicated to batteries and bulbs was a little odd, but I don't think so anymore. I've been a loyal customer for some time, whenever I need batteries for household items or my car. Not to mention the odd bulb or flashlight. Where they really won me over, though, was iPhone screen repair. They repaired one screen for me a few years ago and last year, after my iPhone was run over by a car and literally crushed, I went to them hoping for a miracle. Not only did they replace the screen and camera, but when the phone was semi-functional afterward, they helped me figure out what to do and were able to resurrect it completely by replacing the other camera as well. Throw in a new battery and a screen protector and the phone was pretty much good as new. They earned the 5 star rating for sure. read more

"I'm trying to figure out if you sell them or not...." "I can't help you ....pause ....Since I have NO idea what you're saying or even talking about ..so NO...I can't help you.." (It's clear he's now intentionally disrespectful, condescending, rude and totally arrogant) "I'm just trying to figu e ...the line goes dead. I am sitting here in disbelief- how asking such a simple question- nicely- deserved such blatantly rude treatment? I've figured it out! He is a LOSER! His stellar customer service skills give insight as to who he really is: He takes pride in his education, his framed 8th grade graduation certificate hanging above his mattress on the floor, in the basement of his parents house.....he's got the emotional and mental maturity of items found in his "toilet" (a bucket in the corner lined with a hefty bag) ...after a long night of drinking beer and overindulging on extra spicy foods......single, his meager earnings spent on "dates" found on the streets in the Canal, fav hobby smashing empty beer cans on his head ....(pea brain found inside) ARRGGHHH!
