I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. I was on the hunt for a good pair of jeans and possibly some dresses when the rack on display near the front porch caught my eyes. There were so many flowing, beautiful dresses flapping back and forth in the wind, just calling my name and asking to be tried on. I stepped in and was excited to see the vast collections of gently used items, including sneakers and dress shoes. I started with the jean stack and was excited to see that all the jeans were $20! You can't beat that price! I had to try a few pairs to find the right ones, but I was able to find a good pair from Old Navy that was 100% cotton! The store has many drawers with a vast assortment of buttons, pins, earrings rings and other doodads that I wish I had more time to browse. Other customers were happily digging through the drawers and happy with their finds as well. The lady at the counter was very friendly, welcoming and informed me that I could try in as many things as I liked in the curtained dressing room in the back. This was the only downside. The dressing room is a small storage room with a very little turn radius. I had to ask my husband to hold the curtain closed as I dressed and undressed because it did not close fully and I felt exposed. Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you want gently used, well priced clothing without breaking the bank. read more

I had the best time this afternoon at Elisa's Cottage. Filled with so many cool vintage and thrift finds, I was in the shop for an hour and probably could have been in there longer if I wasn't on a time constraint. The shop owner was lovely, I bought a vintage gold necklace and got a buy one get one free pair of earrings, as well as a gorgeous vintage red Coach purse. THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKING Everytime we walk around Benicia we hit up most of the little shops. This one in particular usually starts off the walk toward the water on the main street downtown. Although small in size, they utilize the little space with tables out front, and are able to sell everything from clothing to boots to jewelry to knick-knacks. Last time we were there a ton of fun-colored cowboy boots were out. My husband really wants a pair of standard men's cowboy boots. We found some cute pairs here; in his size, but out of our price range (for used shoes). read more
