Picked up a couple bakeware I've been needing to replace. And also found a couple Christmas gift sets I marked off my list. Of course you get the usual greeting from the security as you walk in. But not one employee on the floor acknowledge you or even asked if we needed assistance. And again my experience ended with the friendly, efficient cashier. Which earned the stars I gave. read more

Firstly, I couldn't find the "new" DD's on Yelp. Hopefully the Regional or District Manager will see my post. The DDs on Solano is the best place to shop. I am a customer that pays attention to good customer service and cleanliness of a store. Every time I come in the store which is often, I am greeted by this very nice lady whose name is Tina. She is so welcoming. She must be the manager because she is ALWAYS there and I have watched her organize, clean & provide professional customer service. I feel like her multi task skills are phenomenal! I have observed her interactions with customers and she is extremely concise in her conversations with customers. Tina is nothing like the other employees she stands out and makes for a great shopping experience at DDs on Solano Ave. The store is a bit smaller but it's clean, less hectic and organized. The prices are always right but the customer service sucks. When I am purchasing my items they always call the next customer up when my purchase isn't over inviting strangers into my personal space. It is a store where you can purchase boosee fabulous things and not go totally broke. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes a miss but never a huge loss because it's pretty cheap. New trends you can try without much risk. I've had outfits people ask about and compliment from dd's all the time. If you want to look fly on a budget, DD's Discounts is the place! I have a love and hate for this specific location. This store is off one of Vallejo's main streets, Sonoma Blvd. It is in one of the main shopping center's Vallejo, sharing a center with Seafood City, The Dollar Tree, and Planet Fitness (which is closed temporarily) There is plenty of parking, but during the holidays, it can be a slight challenge. If you're hungry, there is a really good chinese fast food joint next door. If you need beauty supplies, there is a good beauty supply store that I also shop at across from DD's. I want to warn you though. DD's is not in the safest area. Make sure you roll up your windows, take your important belongings with you, and lock your car! This shopping center is known to have a lot of car break-ins and robberies so pay attention to your surroundings when walking to and from your car or anywhere at that! Now for the store. Upon entering the store, you will be greeted by a friendly security guard. To your right will be the handbags and shoe section. The handbags vary in price, from $5-$50 depending on the brand. The shoe section is super unorganized and very cheap in quality. However, you might be able to score a pair of Adidas or Pumas far cheaper than retail prices. I personally wouldn't recommend buying a pair of shoes here based on the quality, but if you're in dire need of a pair of cheap black boots, why not? It may last you a good three months but you get what you pay for! I love browsing through the JR/Women's department. If you're in the medical field, you'll find cheap scrubs here, cute ones too! When I do shop at this store, I always go straight to the jackets. You will find cute jackets and sweaters here. I love shopping for my son's clothes here as well. You can score some good quality Levi's jeans here and jogger pants. Same with the Men's clothing. I can go on and on and on because I love shopping but there's just so much to mention - from apparel to home goods. The lines can get fairly long, even longer during Covid. All the customers and staff are mandated to wear masks inside the store and based on my most recent experience, people were following safety protocols and keeping their distance. I love DD's Discounts. I have been shopping at this store for years. I just think it need some improvement when it comes to cleanliness and organization. 100% of the time I don't feel safe when I come here, especially parking my car here, but it's a risk that you take when you go anywhere! read more

Ok, first of all, if you have any pretensions of being all that, please don't shop here. It's a HOT mess! They never have enough people working the registers. The customers don't have a clue. They pick up something at the beginning of the store and then drop it off somewhere else when they change their mind. Often times it looks like a small tornado had gone through the store. Now put that behind you and remember what is important. Looking like a million bucks and spending less than $25! Oh yeah baby, you can get designer labels, if you want to look around. You can decorate your crib and look like it belongs on MTV or good housekeeping, depending on your taste or style. You can get baby phat, G-Unit, Ecko, Marithe Girboud, Playboy, Martha Stewart, Kitchen aid, etc., etc. I was just looking at a mirror, about 4.5' X 3x5' for only $69, framed. They have tons of housewares, pictures, mirrors, and clothing galore. And most wonderfully the sizes are from skinny minnies to us full size mama's! So don't be intimidated by the crowd at the register, just do your shopping and then patiently wait in line as you ring up the savings while you are in line. And do the world a favor - take the clothes of the hanger while you are waiting and get your credit card or money out. Why make everyone else wait another 5 minutes behind you? Now if you click on the pictures above, you'll see a platter by Artist Michael Godard. Michael is famous for his humorous olive and martini paintings. Wow! This location is way better than the one in Fairfield! It's bigger, more organized and better inventory. dd's is pretty much an even cheaper version of Ross. They sell Betsey Johnson bags here for cheap! I found a really nice tall over-the-door mirror here for only $12.99 it looks like Z. Gallerie style! They also have super cheap clothing. I got a pair of leggings with faux leather on the sides for $5.99! It's definitely worth a look! read more

This location hired rude customer service. I walk in to buy dresses and the cashiers has terrible attitudes. I have 8 dresses on my cart and standing in line then she told me in a rude statement to moved to the other check stand. I am 67 years old she is about 26-30 years old Asian woman. I know she must have a rough day all day but she never have to speak in that tone specially to senior citizen. I push my cart to the side and walk out and left my merchandise. I really hate going to this DD's, although I've only been to two of them, LoL! Everytime I come here the lines are super long, and the fitting rooms stink, and I can never find a really cute bra in my size, (except the one my mom found, clearly I didn't find it!) Don't get me wrong though they do have a ton of cute things but you have to actually search through each item to make sure it is actually your size and isn't damaged! Majority of the time when I go there I can find about 2 or 3 cute shirts, not too many pants because they are too short for all my height! I always find nice candles and bed sheets for really great prices, but never any shoes in my size either! \ I guess that's just my luck though?!? read more

I have found some great, great stuff at DD's. However, I dont come here much cuz: A-I have to have time and patience to make my way around the place and discover the hidden treasures. B-Although I love people watching, I kinda fear for my life here. Ive witnessed some pretty huge shouting matches--one where the lady working there told the customer she looked like she was on "HAIR EYE ON" and the customer was right back at her with some fat slams, etc. I can handle drama but in these times, you never know how far it can go....so, I come here early on a weekday off and make it out in less than a couple of hours. i wish i could give negative stars this place was absolutely horrid. I came here, when I was 9 months pregnant about ready to pop, got a lot of items and i paid for my stuff and proceeded to leave and was stopped at the door saying i can't take the cart outside. I asked if I could have help carrying my stuff to my car because I had to park pretty far away and i was on restrictions for carrying heavy loads. they said NO. Then I asked of I can park my car up front to the curb just so I can be closer and not have to make a ton of trips far away. They said NO. I was so pissed if I would have known that i wouldn't have bought as many things but there was nothing posted and the guard didn't inform people when they came in that people can't bring out the shopping cart. People were so rude I'm not trying to take a poor pity me help me out i normally hate asking for help but in this case it risked the babies life just carrying my stuff to the car. I was hurting for a few days after that because I over did it. I even had to go in to make sure that everything was ok. fuck this place I'm boycotting this dds. I told all my friends and they told their friends so they lost some business. never coming here again and neither are my friends. not to mention the organization of the place and how dirty this place is. Messy & unorganized store. I just went in to grab a bath mat since it was on the way to my next destination. I walked in with a very small see through bag, I was stopped & told I needed my bag checked in. It was not that serious with such a small bag to check in. This store oozes ghetto, there is a horrible selection, they did not even have the bath mat I needed. I'm ashamed I even stopped here & would ever think this store would ever have quality anything. When I come in here it's always crowded, hot, and ridiculously ghetto-rigged but I still love the fact that I can get what I need usually under 10 dollors. I love DD's but you really have to have patience when shopping here. It's messy and unorganized but you can find REALLY GOOD and CHEAPER deals. It's a step down from Ross and Marshalls but if you have the time, I'd definitely check this spot out first. It's hit or miss here but I've found great items for such a steal!!!! My fave departments where I will most likely find something are the Shoes and Home department. Tip of the trade: Keep an eye out on the lines. Then another lady asks a girl who was putting clothes in a hanger to help and she started throwing a fit so she told her to keep hanging clothes. Store is a hit or miss store. Somedays they dont have what your looking for, but somedays they have everything you're looking for, and some days, things you want that you didn't even know you wanted. Their big and tall section is the best in Vallejo. The prices are better than Marshalls and Ross. They have such a huge selection that changes and is stocked daily. Tonight I went here for the first time in years and it was only for about one minute. I came in the store just to ask my dad something while he was shopping around, but I could not even do that because of their rude "security"/loss prevention lady. After 5 seconds of entering the store, she yelled at me just for bringing my Starbucks drink in the store. I felt kind of embarrassed. She talked to me like if I was stealing something. She could have nicely and politely told me that food and drinks weren't allowed in the store. You can definitely find bargains and enjoy looking for stuff if you go at the right time. Yes, like all DDs, it gets crowded, stuffy, and attitudy(cute word huh?) when you go at particular times but I know this so I go either early when they first open at 9:30am on saturday or if I have off work days, I go when they first open on a weekday. Never will I go after 11am on a saturday, forget about that. I hate those long lines that sometimes wrap back to where the shoes are. I use to wait in the long lines because it was an item that I really wanted, but if I can avoid the lines, I will. DDs is the sister store of Ross and mostly have the same items, its just that DDs is even cheaper...I know how much cheaper can you go huh? Apparently, this dd's is one of the first ones to be built in the Bay Area. However, I am the last one to know this. I live in the San Pablo/Richmond/Pinole area and have been driving out to San Leandro, Hayward, or Fremont (because I hate the dd's in Oakland) to visit my favorite store. I was so excited when I found this one in Vallejo. It's nothing special, just a regular dd's. I'm just happy because I don't have to drive all the way to San Leandro. Yaaaay! read more

The staff here are almost as rude as the customers and the spite really is pretty ghetto as many others have mentioned. I was able to find some great deals a couple times on scrubs. The rest of the clothing that I've seen here is pretty tacky. Today was the last time I'll set foot in this store though. The cashier let a 'customer' from the returns line cut in line to make her purchase while there were many already waiting in the purchases only line. I love bargain shopping and DD's is definitely a place to go if you want good deals on everyday casual stuff. Although it also gets busy during the weekend & holidays so if your planning to go .. this is really a love hate relationship.... i love that they have a huge plus sized section of clothes...i have found a lot of good things there. i have found clothes from torrid and lane bryant!!! yay! sometimes i go in and find nothing, other days i come out with a zillion bags of stuff... the purse section is crap...mainly ghetto brands... the shoes are hit of miss...i find a lot of chuck taylors there the home stuff is usually pretty good, the wall decor often looks old ladyish or very ethnic...but the candles and mirrors are great! they have good kitchen stuff (kitchen aid, martha stewart, ect) and they have really cool miscellaneous junk for the home...i love to pick through the aisles... i try to go to this store before dark on a weekday...it caters to some of the trashiest of vallejo! ive seen some heated arguments in there and it never fails that a crack head is outside the door... also, some of the name brand clothes like baby phat and such are locked up on display. sometimes the sales associates will not allow you to carry it around with you and they keep it at the register...a few months ago they did this to my friend and 3 women decided to reach over the counter and take her clothes...they were the only ones in that color and when she got to the register she was upset...the cashier was looking all over like those were just here...another customer in line pointed out the ladies who took them...it was like a huge ebonic catfight!! i was afraid for my friend and the cashiers life... if you are willing to take your chances this can be a great store! read more
