Hobby Lobby is one of my absolute all-time favorite places to shop for gifts, surprises, and put together items.

Avery was very rude, to me and to her coworkers. Her coworker complained to me because she wasn't listening and being rude then proceeded to be rude to me and laugh. I go here all the time and ive never had a problem. It was the simplest thing. "Can you return this to me at full price without a receipt" she told me not without the form of payment. I said okay and kept it till I figured out what it was on. After figuring it out I asked the cashier can I return this, this was the form of payment. She says yes very simple. The item was $10 she handed me $1 I said I paid $10 for this item?? She said oh sorry its on sale noww so I have to ask someone to help me. I waited while 2 ladies went back n forth yelling across the store and just kept telling me to wait. Finally she tells me yeah sorry its our policy we cant take back a return so I said thats fine, it is what it is but I only returned it believing I would get full price or else I would have just kept the item and sold it for more than $1. As I'm walking out she says "I really dont care you can take it and the $1" as if the $$ was the issue??? The issue was I would have kept it if I would only get $1 back. Then you go back n forth with all these people and have me wait with my toddler son and act frustrated when I seem impatient. She really could have easily said sorry its too late I can't do anything about it and I would have taken the loss. The communication and attitude is the problem, to me and to her teammates. read more

We saw Hobby Lobby's sign off the freeway so knew we had to stop before heading home. My daughter and I love this store but there are none around in our area so we were delighted there is one in Fairfield. The shopping center parking lot was packed and so was Hobby Lobby. No baskets or carts available so we walked around as best as we could to check out this year's holiday displays. It was challenging to walk around with so many people in the Christmas aisles so I left to check out the rest of the store. After about 30 minutes and our arms filled with treasures, we obviously needed a cart so I went searching for one at the front of the store. Jackpot! Two carts returned so my daughter and I were able to comfortably move our things into one cart. It's a large store with too many fun things to look at and want. I truly wish there was a store closer to us. My receipt said my checker was Danielle W. She was exceptionally happy and filled with smiles. She was also kind enough to wrap our breakables before putting them in a bag. I appreciated her cheerful demeanor in spite of the huge crowds she must have been seeing all day. I usually don't leave reviews, but I wanted to share my recent experience. I've had great experiences with Hobby Lobby but this time I was left with bad impression. I had asked the store to hold a few items for me, and I was told they would be kept aside until 7:30pm. I left at about 3pm and returned at 5pm, only to find the items were no longer available. I was given several explanations, but unfortunately no clear resolution. I understand mistakes happen, but it was disappointing since I made the effort to come back well before the agreed time. I hope the store can improve communication and follow-through on holds in the future, as it would really help prevent this from happening to other customers read more

I came by Hobby Lobby Saturday afternoon to look for planters for plants and possibly a new patio rug. Pretty much just some goodies for my patio! I've never been to this Hobby Lobby location. I pass it quite often on my way to Traders Joe's, where I was first and then decided to come by HL. This location is your typical Hobby Lobby: overpriced goods on sale (this day there was a sale on Spring Shop items), spacious with tons of cute crafty things to look at, long lines with only 2 cashiers working. I was able to find a cute plant "welcome" mat for my patio and a small spray bottle to make my own lavender deodorizing spray for my apartment. Both items were on sale, so, I walked out pretty happy. The cashier who helped me was friendly and helpful, as well as pretty quick getting that line moving! I will be returning when I'm in the area again and need some craft/hobby goods. read more

Ok....I have to admit...I can, and always do, spend hours in here. You want to keep an eye out for the deals, which they have constantly. I can't even count how much I've spent in here whether it be scrapbooking supplies, jewelry making supplies, or house decor. It seems like there is always something new and exciting to be found! This is the place to go if you are looking for any sort of art supplies, or if you're looking to spruce up your home. They have a large section for sewing supplies, a large selection of paints and great quality paint brushes, they even have a section for planners, for those who love their planning. Along the walls they have art pieces, as well as some accent furniture. The staff here are always willing to help you out if you're looking for something specific, and they always make sure you're getting the discounts that are current. The store has always been clean when I visit, which is saying something because this store is pretty big. Just means they are on op of things. If you love to decorate, create jewelry, paint, sew, create small model homes or dollhouses, or even want something new for your kitchen decor, you will want to come here. Just make sure you have plenty of money set aside because you will most likely leave with more than you intended! I know I always do. read more

I was thrilled to see that Fairfield was getting a Hobby Lobby store and have been coming here since it opened a couple of years ago. As with any Hobby Lobby store, there is a large selection of nearly anything you can think of. In the past, I've purchased paintings/signs for my home, candles, photo frames, Christmas decorations, some decoration items for my wedding a couple years ago, toys for kids, and so on. If you aren't running short on time, try to browse the entire store. You won't be disappointed. Most items are reasonably priced here. The good thing about Hobby Lobby is they usually have sales for seasonal items (including Christmas decorations) for up to 50% off! They also have sales on candles and photo frames, which makes more affordable for almost any budget. The service I receive here is typically pretty good. The sales team tend to be quite friendly, knowledgeable, and friendly. The last time I went it was close to closing so the staff weren't as friendly, but it is understandable. 5 out of 5 stars read more

This store is a dream. It is craft heaven. They have everything here. From fabric and t-shirts and yarns to paints, acrylics and beading. There was also a good sale going on. A lot of items were listed at 50% off. The store was clean and organized. I love this place! read more

I cannot believe the experience I had today!!! I had the worst cashier EVER at Hobby Lobby. At 2:30pm I was in the checkout line and did not get out of the store until 3:15pm. All the other lines were moving smoothly except this email cashier unfortunately I didn't get her name but she has dark hair put up on her 50's or 60's with glasses and she was the slowest cashier!! Then because she was separating all of my purchases and organizing them before she ran them in I was the last person at any register still waiting for her to enter items. I finally told her it was taking so long and she tried to say it was the range things in but it wasn't because all the other cashier completed their job and were hanging around. I then received the comment from this cashier that I should be kinder and be a human being! Then it was on of telling her she was extremely rude. I asked for the manager and a young tall woman with light hair came up and listened to my complaint mind you with the cashier trying to butt in. I told the manager that maybe she could be in a different position there because she was too slow. She is not new or anything she is just very slow!! Edward is the Manager of the store per the young lady in management. She said she will talk with the cashier and let her Manager know. I just shopped my last trip at this Michael's- never in ever have I been so angry about an experience from that treatment!! Tomorrow will call their corporate office since they are closed. read more

We love Hobby Lobby. This location is no different. We actually have to drive an hour to get here and it is always worth it. The employees go out of their way to be friendly and made sure you have what you need. The selection is great. I have never left without exactly what I was looking for. There is always something on sale so if you just plan ahead, you will never pay full price. read more

Holy moly. Crafters and home decorators dream! Huge location. Hadn't been to one since they opened on the west coast. Go to their website for a 40% coupon or download their app Loved their variety of items. Not too much fabric but I would say more home decorations. Many religious signs because of their background. Gotta catch those deals! I can spend hours in this store with my little one. We look for crafts to do on the weekends, rainy days, or just when we are bored. They have so many cool crafts. If Michaels, Joann's, and Home Goods merged together, you'd get Hobby Lobby. This location makes it convenient to find anything you need from crafts, cloths, frames and wall art. I was looking to add some decor to my house by adding small plants and wall art and was pleased to find themes for home theaters, boy/girl rooms, nurseries, bathrooms, outdoors etc. Staff is pretty helpful and pleasant and the sales are great. read more

Selection is not the greatest. They've done away with a lot of their fabric section. The customer service in this department is horrible! Myself and another customer waited for 15 minutes even after ringing the desk bell. Still no service. I put my fabric back and on my way out. Spoke with a manager who was unaware that anyone needed help in that department. At the same time they were calling for back up at the registers, the line was long. I saw an employee coming from the back with a pace, like she was walking to a funeral. read more

I was promptly refunded for items I purchased 4 months ago. The receipt was over 90 days, so I wasn't sure. I was planning on begging for store credit, but the pleasant lovely checker fixed me right up with a credit card refund in no time. No questions asked. Great selection. Horrible service. Not ready to open yet. I returned some items after buying a lot of items for a bridal shower. The receipt was pretty long, there are no SKUs or numbers on any items so the cashiers have to manually type in everything. Fast forward standing in line for over an hr the cashier rang me up wrong multiple times. When I tried to return they couldn't find the items on the receipt. Long story short, I paid more then I should have on items that were half off but rang up wrong. Items I paid for were not on the receipt. Basically it was just a free for all and I ended up over paying and super annoyed. read more

Usually I don't have a issue with hobby lobby and the people are fairly nice. But today I came in to grab treat bags. Literally 3 items. I get to the lane and the cashier Tammy pulls her "I'm closed" sign. No big deal I can move to another. My issue is she took not one person but two other ppl after she just said she was closed. I had three items Tammy, you couldn't just check me out real quick? Well after I seen her check out the several people I see a family of 5 come up to her and are ready to check out and she then says she is closed. Girl are you closed or not. Against my better judgment, I came here because I was in dire need of blank face masks for my kids' Halloween costumes. I checked online before I came, I knew they had plenty of options in stock, I just needed to find the location once I got to the store. I asked an employee, and with an attitude she told me they didn't sell any blank face masks, just pre-done masks at the front near the registers. Now, when I went to tell her that I saw some online she told me I was mistaken and walked away. Super rude! I ended up turning the corner and finding blank face masks! Imagine that. When I told the person at the register what happened, instead of apologizing or saying she'd tell that employee for the future, she told me that I shouldn't expect employees to know every item that is sold in a store. Did I expect that? No. I've worked in customer service, I understand that it can be a trying job. But, customer service and honesty go a long way. She could have easily told me she did not know where the silly masks were, or instructed me to find another employee. But to lie, to avoid working? Gross. And then for the cashier to basically tell me to lower my expectations was ridiculous.. Thankfully good old Michael's Craft store is right around the corner, and next time I won't wait until the last minute to find some thing I really need. read more

Okay, joined my friend to journey through hobby lobby on her quest for crosses, paint, and whatever else falls into her cart. We seen signs for 50% off splashed on the two ends of the cross shelves and in the middle. Well, it turns out it did not apply for the crosses, but the few little tabletop decoration ( corner bottom shelf ). A woman passing by the area said she fell for the same tactic and the store's corporate office number told her, " we are within our rights to advertise this wsy." My friend call to report it after they would not honor the sign and the corporate office told her the same thing they told the woman at another point in time. They have some great selection of crafts, decoration, and diy projects. Read those 50% signs closely because it could be advertising something other that isn't selling well in the store or over thought the popularity of an items. It is disappointing that things I liked were dirty or damaged and no discount on the item. Especially the wall hanging portraits. Inspect your items. read more

Went to HL today for ribbon. Of course I bought $100 worth of stuff I don't need. I had two items in my basket that clearly had a sign 50percent off. Of course when I get to the register, it only wall decor. The manager Brianna said she would give me the discount. Then she changed her mind and said only if the sign was from last week. I keep seeing bad reviews of their staff but want to point out that the Bay Area in general, especially younger workers have an attitude that they are doing us all a favor by just their presence of working. I was here last week looking for a specific model kit and to scope out the yarn and seeing sections. I was expecting a bit more of the store then being a hobby store equivalent to target especially when this location is in the same shopping center as Micheals. They do have more quality yarn Then Michaels and different brands. Yes they carry model kit sets but only half an aisle with and stuff you could easily find elsewhere. I was disappointed in the sewing/embroidery aisle because it was sparse and slim pickings. The positive side was the employees were all in great moods smiling and greeting every one much better then you would expect at Michaels in Fairfield. read more

They have a really good amount of art supplies here. A ton of artificial flowers to behold. My only complaints would be aisle space. Often times you have to wait for people to leave the aisle so you can go down it. I also wish they had more car, plane and boat models but the amount they had wasn't bad. read more

Have been a weekly customer to Hobby Lobby both in Concord and Fairfield. Being that I live in Marin it is a commute. Purchased $80 yarn in Concord after 30% discount but I needed 2 more of the same color so we drove to Fairfield. Purchased additional yarn $60 but they did not give us the 30%. When we asked the manager he replied, that actually starts on Monday so if the Concord store had their sign up and gave it to you that's on them. You need to come back on Monday. He stated, I'm going to call that store and talk with their manager. A bit of customer service and communication skill on the managers part would have been nice. Will avoid the Fairfield store and drive the extra miles for better service . read more

I love and believe in the Christian values of hobby lobby. In no way do I think the employees have to have similar religious beliefs but I do think they should hold a customer service value while working. SOPHIA at the Fairfield store is rude and impersonal. She made me feel like my business was not appreciated or wanted .I don't know what is going on in her personal life but she needs to leave that at home. This is a holiday season full of joy and she ruined my experience. I hope her manager reads this and takes this as a training opportunity. The Fairfield Hobby Lobby is the worst, most unfriendly, most unhelpful Hobby Lobby I have ever been to. I walked around for literally one hour and not a single employee bothered talking to me or asked me if I needed help, not one. Granted they all were fine hanging out and talking to each other, but no one offered to see if I needed assistance finding anything. This is Not good for business Hobby Lobby. Not to mention you chose the wrong city to put a Hobby Lobby in, because Vacaville or Dixon would have been a much better choice. read more

Been to this store many times. Love the home decor they sell. However, each and every visit included coming across rude staff members. Each and every time I let it go. However, my last visit was the last straw. I purchased a cute sign that was the last one in stock. I asked for a discount up front as the item was damaged. The cashier called her manager, Brianna. Brianna failed to acknowledge me and made no conversation with me. She said "it's not that damaged" to the cashier and walked away. I was appalled by the managers rudeness. No wonder the staff doesn't care about customer service. They have a leader that leads by that example. I politely told the cashier that it's either damaged or not damaged. She again called the manager, Brianna. She gave me a dirty look and talked directly to the cashier. I intervened with my question again requesting clarification that it is either damaged or not damaged. Brianna spoke directly to the cashier and told her to give me a 10% discount while she rolled her eyes and walked away. I asked to speak to anyone in a higher position than her and the cashier called Brianna again and Brianna stated that she is the manager. Again my rating is not based on being angry about not getting a discount, it is based on my multiple experiences with rude staff. I asked a general question and it could have been handled more tastefully. Having the manager behave that way was unacceptable. read more
