They have a laugh with you as person to person. 2 ) Overpriced. Clothes will last a few years, but graphics will chip, thread and wash out in a week - unless you wash with it inside out. 3 ) Some products will just break. I got a squishy that broke after a day and STICKY glue got all over. Hard to wash off hands. I've had earrings snap in a week with the bad glue and chains. While I love the variety of anime merch that graces the store, this is the 2nd time I have shopped there and then found security devices on all of my items! Then I have to drive home and find the devices on my items (disappointing). Then, instead of driving all the way back to Fairfield like I did before, I had to look up a YouTube video on how to remove them. And yes, I purchased the items. Employees need to check for these and remove them before a customer leaves. Please fix this issue. read more

I popped in with my eldest son on a whim last week. We were back to school shopping and was just curious what they had and we are so glad we did! Great selection of shirts, backpacks, and a whole bunch of things we liked. (I Bought 4 shirts then something caught my eye as we were walking out. Can it be a Deadpool and Capt. America backpack? Hot Topic is not punk rock! Now that MC Lars has gotten out of my system, it's time for my true opinion. This location is pretty nice, since they have their lights turned on, unlike many of the other locations. The clothes are usually miss, they have some great accessories (Andy Warhol bags!), but the clothes are not really what I wear, they seem to fit a little...boxy. TWO stars for the staff. They've always been incredibly friendly and help in any way possible. I'd give it 5 stars just for the staff, but the music & lack of clothing options rack it down a wee bit. ...Plus it's one of the only companies that allow employees to have facial piercings & awesome hair colors. Okay this was really obvious but I really love to cosplay and when I see something like related to an anime series I see at hot topic I immediately get. They have good prices and I like the accessories there they are like bomb af and amazing. I love the Pokémon, Sailor moon, Free eternal summer, Hetalia, and Attach on Titan merchandise. Something interesting to get is the walking dead merch. Those things are nice too. While the ambiance of the store matches how the store is like/ it's characteristic~ I also love the clothes and accessories they go together for a nerd. FYI.This store is on Minority Watch. After work, my co-workers and I went to the mall to explore. We stepped into Hot Topic, due to my co-workers obsession with unicorns, and one of the employees; a Caucasian boy with a short blond fro... I don't really know what to call it, fro or curly hair... proceeded to stand....LIterally next to us, as we we're discussing the awesomeness of some superwomen and unicorn slippers my co-worker was trying on. Then he asked us if we needed help, we politely said no, we're just looking around, and you know most sales people flee after that. Instead he stood freakishly close to us, I mean like shoulder to shoulder, while we talked about the slippers, surveying us, as if we were going to run off with them. Until my friend asked him if there was a problem. Then he walked away, without any apologies. After which he just stared at a distance, following us around the store. I later told another store employee after my co-worker payed for her two pairs of slippers, how we had felt (very uncomfortable) about the situation politely, unlike him. He only had an excuse for the employee, saying that he was new with a minor giggle. So remember if your a person of color, your customer experience may be a poor one. read more

I've been to almost all the Hot Topic stores in the Bay Area for my two teenage kids, and this is by far the most terrible store. Some staff are nice, while others are extremely rude. I came in yesterday, about to buy over $250 worth of clothes, but after the terrible treatment I received, I put everything down and just walked out. BTW, they only have ONE DRESSING room for both guys & gals, so if you want to try something on, you may expect to wait a very long time. We waited over 15-20 minutes and then when my daughter got in, a girl there (who looks pregnant) told us that only 3 articles at one time in the dressing room, but can exchange them out (we had 5). Then after we did exchange them out, the SAME girl came up to me and said in a really loud voice, so that the whole store could hear, that it's only 3 articles at one time and then we would have to wait again in line (there was one girl in line, who waited about 5 minutes)... I said, "excuse me? I've been waiting for over 15 minutes for that dressing room, my daughter is trying on her clothes!" The girl said, "okay" and just walked away. Really unprofessional, rude, and totally has a bad attitude with crazy mood swings, since she was the one who told us it was okay to swap out clothes. UNBELIEVABLE! hot topic is a perfect gift store. this is where you find all those clever shirts with verbiage on them, or shirts with your favorite bands, or licensed apparell to tv / movies / and video games. they have accessories up the wazoo including necklaces, bracelets, hats, stickers, buttons, wallets, piercing jewelery. they have random toys. they even have regular apparel, although i'd hardly consider capable of handling ones wardrobe. if you're looking for a gift for somone and have an inkling of what they like in mind, you'll probably score here. word. store 200 represent. read more

Totally love this store. I get good merchandise at this store and they have the best superhero gear to dress up for a DC Universe and Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie when u want to dress up as your favorite superhero for the upcoming movies coming out. The staff are very helpful and amazing and this place has a lot of good apparel and everything. To anyone who is lookin for a good gear and everything this place is the ticket to getting all of that amazing stuff you want to have to impress your friends and people who are fans of these tv shows, video games and movies. I hate this place. I ordered some camo pants & needed them in 6 days from the day i oredered & then they tell me because they were doing inventory that week i ordered my pants & they wouldnt be in til next week ...well how is that helping me? & then i called customer service & found out they offer next day shipping! Wow!! That woulda helped to mention when i told the person that placed my oreder i need them asap! So in the end i had to leave practice early to drive 45 mins to go pick up a pair of these pants i need to then deal with rude ass people to im so done with this place never again will i shop here or order online from them because they obviously suck at placing orders & fetting them in. & i will not reccommend this place to anyone! read more

I wish they had a larger in-store selection but it's cool cause I shop on their website too. It's free to get it shipped to their store, which is convenient cause I only live 10 minutes away. This hot topic has some of the most rude employees I have ever encountered and the manager is a miserable person. I go in looking at the Funko pops often and participate in online groups about them. This store breaks the rules for people they know by holding items longer than they are supposed to for certain people, which is against store policy. I have not had one pleasant experience at this location in the years I have been shopping here. I have now just started to order everything online so I do not have to deal with these people anymore. It is ridiculous to have to put up with this crap. Every other hot topic I have been to is a million times better than this one. I recommend Arden or the concord stores if you are in those areas. Both much more friendly and a stock that hasn't been picked through by the employees before it even hits the sales floor read more
