While we were checking out, Dawn was getting ready to put out a few more squishies. She took the time to show my son each one she was tagging before putting them on the shelf. She absolutely didn't have to do that--she could have just walked by--but that small act of kindness meant so much! The NeeDoh and squishy craze is real and I don't think employees get enough appreciation for dealing with the constant demand. Dawn's patience and kindness made my son's day. He was so excited to add a few new squishies to his collection! Thank you, Dawn, for taking those extra few minutes to make my son's day. And thank you from my daughter too, who somehow always ends up stealing her big brother's squishies no matter which one we buy just for her!

The selection of cards for Father's Day was pretty depleted but that makes sense the day before the holiday. I managed to find a couple and the cutest shawl. Usually the service is pretty good. However on this visit Lisa was my cashier and gave me attitude after I politely asked her not to grab my phone. I held up my phone (with the screen towards her) so she could scan the clearly visible bar code for the use of my birthday coupon. She grabbed my phone. After I said something she said, "well make the bar code larger!" with MUCH attitude. I told her to ask me too - not just take my phone. She was intent on arguing, and added she has taken others' phones, and no one had a problem. I was floored! I have been there too many times to count and never had anyone take my phone (instead of using their hand scanner). Nor have I ever received such attitude. She made what started out as a great experience shopping for others to one tainted by her attitude and unprofessionalism.

One of the things I enjoy most is that there's a Starbucks inside, so I can sip on a coffee while browsing through my favorite books. They also have a nice selection of books in Spanish, which I truly appreciate. It's a space that inspires me and is also perfect for my kids. Every Saturday at 2 p.m., they host a storytime event for children, and sometimes they even have fun LEGO-building activities, which my kids really enjoy. Barnes & Noble is a place where my children and I can share our love for reading in a cozy and welcoming environment. All the service is always the most nice and welcoming.

Amazing, it's been I don't know how many years since I dropped into a Bath and body Works. Last…read moretime I went, I was bored. The scents seemed garish and artificial. I couldn't think of any good reason why I wanted a room fragrance. There was no way I was going to put those scents on my skin or hair. It turned out, I was also allergic to some of the fragrances and I ended up leaving rather quickly. Back then, I thought the store could be eradicated, and it would be entirely beneficial for the human race. This time it seemed like it was a whole new store. They've updated their collection and have excluded Phthalates, sulfates, and parabens. This change seems to have done the trick for me. I no longer found the fragrances repulsive, and it didn't kick off any allergy attacks. With that massive collection of products, the fragrances were still overwhelming, even though they were pleasant. It was rather hard to actually determine which product smelled like what because it was scent chaos in there. They could've used a lot more ventilation. Although I have no plans to ever scent my rooms or add even more scented products, these fragrances were pleasant enough that I could see giving them as gifts. I would say I'm still not completely sold on the store but at least these days I don't think they should be burned down to the ground. Aside from my dismal opinion of the products, the store is quite nice. It's neatly organized, beautifully stocked, plenty spacious enough for a crowd of shoppers. The staff people were attentive and pleasant, greeting everyone who entered the store. If I had cared more about the products, I would definitely have enjoyed shopping here. So four stars for the store. Since the store does not control their products, I'll leave out my opinion of the actual stuff.

Even when I forget a coupon, I'm still pleased with the prices. The prices are comparable to stuff you can find at Target, which carries Carter's diffusion line, Just One You by Carters. The difference is that Just One You is usually made of thinner material that's not as soft. The last time I went to this Carter's, there weren't too many fleece sleep-and-play onesies beyond newborn size, but I was able to stock up a little for spring with other doorbuster deals. There's always a nice employee with fun makeup there - I believe she is the manager - who makes shopping there a pleasure. The line may move a little slowly because of the personal touch with each customer, but that's OK by me. I'd probably go to Carters all the time with my daughter if there was a bathroom with a changing table. :D

Came in to trade an amiibo figure (I was there the previous week and traded in a ton). While waiting I overheard her tell a customer that his membership didn't give him any discount on preorders...not a good start. When I put the amiibo down she said we don't take those. I turned around and looked at the glass display full of used amiibos (she was probably startled since she was talking on her cell phone). I told her they did and then she changed her story to "I don't know how to trade these in". And kinda put her hands up. No one else there, no fortitude to try and call someone else on how to do her job. Nothing. If I ever walk in again and she's there I'm turning right around.
