    Purposely scratched by staff
    Karen C.

Love going in to find gems. Usually staff are kind and helpful except during my visit today. I've been on the search for a bedside lamp. I have gone in several times within the past couple weeks looking for that something special. Tonight I found such a piece but after checking it closely I observed a couple imperfections. I asked the manager (short Asian woman) if she would consider a markdown. She said she would take 10%. She took the lamp behind the cashier's counter, faced away from me and everyone, and stayed there working on marking it down. It took her so long that I told her I was going to get in line. She didn't respond. As I waited my turn in line I watched her back as she worked on the lamp. I couldn't figure why it was taking longer than 10 minutes to complete the task. Then she just walked away from behind the counter, leaving the lamp where she worked on it, and never said a word to me. When I reached the cashier I told him the lamp I was purchasing was on the counter behind him. When he brought it to the counter I observed the manager had indeed marked it down, and wrote "AS IS." I was disturbed by this but after having the kind cashier (gentlemen) plug it in to assure it worked I took my purchase and left. After leaving the store I realized what had been taking the manager so long - she was purposely scratching my lamp!!! See pics. I am floored. Keep in mind I examined this lamp thoroughly before giving her the lamp. I don't know why she did that. If she didn't want to mark it down just saying so would have sufficed. Certainly can't recommend at this time!! Purposely damaging store and customer property is inexcusable and unprofessional. I can't think of any training that could benefit such a cold-hearted individual. She should not be working in retail or with customers.

I adore HomeGoods! It's my go to for quick gifts, fun last minute items, and various things I may need at home. I pretty much stop at HomeGoods store even when I'm traveling. The HomeGoods stores for the most part are all laid out the same, and this location isn't an exception. What is an exception, is that this location seems to be lacking something. Everything was a mess, and I was there right when the store opened. The store should have been tidy, and ready for customers. Nope. Customer service is lacking. I'm accustomed to seeing at least a few people on the floor. Nope. I browsed through the store, and was actually frustrated trying to paw through holiday decor versus regular day to day linens. A few end caps had some cute stuff, but it should have all been grouped together. I rarely comment or use store public restrooms... I made an exception. The dirty bathroom reminded why I don't. I'm perplexed as to why it was so disgusting. Again, the store just opened. I love you guys... but clean up the store! I rarely walk out without anything. I did this time. I can't shop in a messy store.

My sister has been looking for a pair of Hokas on sale and this was the second Rack location she tried. Unfortunately no luck here, but I tagged along and tried on some shoes. They have a very large selection of good designer shoes...the largest choice of Sam Edelman shoes I've seen in ages. The discounts are good, not great. I ended up choosing a pair of EVA Arizona Birkenstock sandals. At $54.95 they are $5 more than buying on Birkenstock direct website, so no savings especially as free membership allows you free shipping. However, I wasn't sure of my size for this brand so it was helpful to try several pairs out in person. The salespeople here were low key and helpful if asked for assistance. The store was large, cool, well lit and had a large selection. The store was larger than the ones I have gone to in Sacramento. I briefly looked at personal care items and they had a nice selection. Otherwise, we didn't have time to look at much else as we wanted to head home and beat the traffic. I am taking one star away for no discount on the shoes and the fact they when I got home I realized the security tag hadn't been removed at checkout . Fortunately my Dad had a bolt cutter and he took it off for me.

Kudos to the tall guy that did that before leaving the store for the day. This store was pretty trashed on a busy Saturday. The clothes here are not very good. There was a long check out line that you entered in a department and had no sight of the front. Understaffing is definitely an issue here. Despite the huge line there was one and then two cashiers but the supervisor was making price tags and cleaning up. My cashier was friendly. Don't buy too much, only what you can carry. (not that some stores don't have camera's but I was stopped purposefully so they could get a shot of me.) I felt like I was being treated as a criminal. I turned and walked right out. I will NOT be treated like that by anyone especially a store where I intended to shop for a new wardrobe. Burlington you will never get a dime from me again. I do not give a fuck if you get robbed daily. You do not treat paying customers like they are criminals. There is such a thing as customer service; you all need to be looking into that. Done. We finally decided to make a dedicated shopping trip out of it, and I was honestly surprised by how large the outlet center is. There are well over a hundred stores, ranging from designer brands to more everyday retailers, so it's easy to spend an entire day there if you're not careful. We quickly realized it was best to focus on a handful of stores rather than trying to see everything. We ended up visiting places like Clarks, Adidas, Levi's, Banana Republic, and Gap. Every store we walked into had impressive sales for selected items or for everything in the store. Some of the prices were the best I had seen in a while. I walked away with two pairs of shoes and a pair of pants, though still nowhere near as much as my significant other bought! Overall, it turned into a fun and relaxing day. I don't recall taking the train ride, but for only $5 it's a must do for kiddos these days. Cheaper than a trip to Disneyland. What I really recall is the giant gingerbread people they used to have in their bakery. My parents would never get me one, but every time I saw them the drool was on. They also had quick breads like zucchini bread and the such. I'm a sucker for zucchini breads and other quick breads. I went a few years back ready to get my ginger bread man and some quick bread and to my dismay they don't have any of that anymore. Being an adult now I was so ready to buy all those things my parents wouldn't buy me. Being an adult has those perks. Now the Nut Tree is a place made up of restaurants and some key stone stores such as Ultra and Old Navy. If you hunt around you can find Sees. I really wanted to go to Sees today, but we ran out of time to make the trek over there. We did have time to explore Kirkland. I've never been to a Kirkland before and it turned out to be a real fun store. They had a great deal on diffusers. 1/5 the price of the ones I saw in Fort Bragg. I found one that I LOVED the scent to in Fort Bragg, but couldn't rationalize spending the money on it. I almost got one of the cheaper ones at Kirkland, but resisted as I really didn't need to spend the money today. I need to save up for the Berry Festival in Woodland this weekend and I bought too much stuff in Fort Bragg this weekend. We did go to Fenton's and shared a cone of black cherry and loved every bite the last time we were at the Nut Tree. It's hard to resist a cone from Fenton's when you stop at the Nut Tree. They are located to the right of the big Nut Tree sign and next to the bathrooms that are on the Left. We walk by it all the time as we go to the bathroom for our potty stop. Just thinking about it I'm drooling. We also stopped buy Old Navy. They always have tons of cute tees for $10, which is a good deal in my book for new shits. They had a ton for cute skirts and dresses, but they weren't a style I'd wear so we walked out empty handed. That was our stop in the Nut Tree this time. It's always a solid rest break and potty stop on our way.
