I focused on the kitchen section. I need a colander and some kind of reusable food storage bin. I preferred square/rectangular glass with locking tabs for the lid. And I needed just one. For food storage, Amazon prices are running $5 - $10 per item. Items I favored were about $10. There was appallingly low selection. The only way to get out of this price category is to buy a very large set where the price per item drops significantly. At Ross, there was a reasonable selection. They had created this by simply breaking up a larger set, tacking on a buck or two and selling them separately. That's just what I need! I got the rectangular glass container with plastic lid and locking tabs for $4.99. It was the same with the colanders, the cook pots, the bakeware; they'd broken up the sets and you could purchase just the size needed with a selection from different brands. I don't often see such great choices and I wonder if they are timing their drops for Tuesday when they target seniors.... I also checked out some curtain rods; prices were running from $7 to $20 but given the prices the rods were unusually good looking. Pity they didn't have the size I needed. At the register the cashier inquired delicately if I was eligible for the 10% Tuesdays senior discount. You're a senior if you're 55 or over. Nicely done! I do wish they had just a bit more Nike apparel, but I won't complain. I swear by Ross. It's my go to place to shop for clothes. My experience here has been nothing but positive. Whenever I go, the workers are friendly, and the security guard always greets me upon entering the store. The clothes can be a hit or miss, but I'll occasionally hit some jackpots if I search thoroughly. Sometimes the store gets messy with clothes on the floor, but for the most part, the clothing racks are adequately organized. Something to note: the aisles are pretty compact, so it can get annoying if there are carts blocking the walkway. I haven't been to Ross in a few months because of illness. I went yesterday and they had a lot of merchandise, mostly the same clothes over and over. I always buy there but only found dog treats. There is not much there even though it's packed with stuff. They made the isles smaller my cart was knocking stuff over and it was hard to get around even with out a cart.It made me say to myself "I don't want to shop here it's too hard to get around." It is true what they say: each Ross department store is different from another. This one is hundreds of miles away from home, but time to spare, it was a stop to make on the way to another destination. It was really more about curiosity. Clean, organized and very little clutter. Hubbers and I looked through their art section as we can certainly use some for the bare white walls in our home. The bathroom could also use a little color. We were lucky and found a ton of them to choose from. It was almost too easy. I was lucky enough not to experience the bad service some Yelpers went through. While completing said return, my 11 year old sister overheard one associate (a white lady, brown hair, freckles) state to another (asian lady), it's THAT Mexican family again", in a nasty tone all while staring them down. I wasn't there to see this but I believe the associate knew what she was doing, she knew that they wouldn't speak up. My family has never once been rude, disrespectful, or even a disturbance. You can never take away the fact that Ross carries some pretty decent and inexpensive merchandise. I for one will always enjoy shopping at Ross. I found some pretty good gifts for my wife to use during traveling , and a way to start getting rid of old stuff. I wish I could say that this place was all positive because it wasn't. Their loss prevention sort of profiled me ( I had no oversized bag and the bag that I ended up purchasing was closed and folded during my shopping). I really understand the need for LP trust me I have seen why ... but I think that LP persons should be able to identify and read people better so that they aren't making the wrong person feel uneasy. Quickly found the item I wanted only to find 18 people in line (not exaggerating) , waiting for 1 cashier. I noticed 2 staff members chatting near the entrance, one of which had a "manager" badge. Because everyone knows, thats where all the theft occurs, at the front door, as the customers arrive. Funny, he brought out the inner 12 year-old in me. I had to giggle as he stood there, so proudly, ushering us in. After an enjoyable time of finding a swimsuit that didn't make me look like a "dolphin" as my daughter told me, we meandered the aisles. We heard on the loudspeaker that the store was officially closed. Then announcer proceeded to tell all of the store personnel to "escort" all the customers to the front of the store. You cant beat the prices either. when i am a last minute person to find stuff to wear & i usually come here when i dint want to spend much on an outfit, it never fails me. Great finds, always. Cant go wrong. especially with the dress Yes some employee's can have attitude but i have witnessed unnecessary attitudes from customers. This loss prevention guy Cloyd got closer than this multiple times to me and my 8year old son & nephew after I told him I'd speak to his manager about him! He followed me throughout the line ignoring everyone until I got inside, and when I did get inside he watched me they the window and flared as I spoke with staff!!!! Took almost and hour until Yendry the manager finally found the time to come talk to me about the harassment and intimidation from Cloyd. She told me she couldn't do anything but talk to him and get his side of the story. Multiple people and associates saw him thru the glass. There was only one associate to help and was concerned was the only one who took it seriously and empathized!! The others all seemed too afraid and didn't want to escalate the situation that should have been taken care of then and there. Man this Ross is so GHETTO. Why is this place so dirty? Clothes everywhere, lacking inventory, and the staff at the register/security were more interested in what their friends were doing out in the parking lot then if anyone was trying to stuff things down their pants and walk out the door. What is their role again? My mom bought a gift for the Canadian and we returned it. We had the receipt but not the credit card it was purchased on. The customer service girl said she will give us a store credit. I told her to out it on a gift card. She gave us a sales debit receipt that said we could use for a prior purhase. I asked if she could put it on a gift card as I will lose the receipt since its just a piece of paper. She said they don't put balances on gift cards and offered to put the receipt Ina blue gift card envelope. What does the envelope have to do with the receipt? Lame-o. What unhelpful customer service. This happened about 1hour ago. So we came in earlier around 9:45pm. We rushed to get in because we knew that it closes at 10:00pm. When I open the door to go inside the security told us that they're closing in 15minutes then I said, "Oh no worries I just have some items to return. Then he told the staff that was working with hangers close to the door that I was returning an item. Then I was patiently waiting in the return line thinking she heard the security. Maybe after 3minutes of waiting, I asked the security if theres any cashier around, then that staff who was working with hangers said to me to wait a second with an attitude. So I did. Then 1minute after she called me asking whats wrong with the items with a tone, then I said, "It does not fit me." Upon scanning the items she again gave me an attitude saying this don't match the item it said on the barcode I have to wait on that one!!" Then I said, " So is it my fault that the attached barcode doesn't match with the item? Its still attached with the item." Then she grabbed the same item saying, " I don't have time for that." And scanned it. I know you're tired because its almost the end of your shift but giving attitude and being rude to customers is definitely poor costumer service. I HATE coming here. It's ALWAYS a mess and my fingers always get that nasty smell from the hangers. DD's is just like it And Marshalls (few doors down) isn't that much better. Sure the prices are down there but I'm an american and my waistline isn't down there so good luck to me finding anything that fits. Including shoes. I cant stand that more places dont carry womens shoes past 10 and those that do you'll get maybe 5 pair to choose from ranging from 11-13... If you get lucky then whoo hoo good for you. One nice thing: I like looking at stuff as potential gifts. (But the boxes are always messed up damnit) It's only wheelchair accessable if you don't want to go down any of the isles. read more

I usually like to come here on Tuesdays that way my mom can use the senior discount, plus it's a week day so it's not so crazy busy. They have a ton of stuff, but you just have to really go through every single rack to find something good. I've found a bunch of stuff as far as clothing and houseware for very cheap prices. Visited this store to return a purchase. I was surprised when I walked in that it was quite empty. Like any other Ross location, they have a ton of stuff. You just have to be willing to hunt and peck through the aisles and aisles of stuff. It's important to be patient, as most things are not always put where they belong.
