I walked out with more than I came for, all for a great price. The cashier line was kind of long (it is the Christmas holiday season, it was expected!), but, it moved steadily. I've always had good experiences with the staff--customer service has consistently been friendly and helpful. The only downside is the temperature inside the store. I generally enjoy shopping at this TJ Maxx, but I was very disappointed by the checkout experience today. After I politely declined the store credit card, I was pressured three separate times by the cashier. Despite my clearly stating 'no' each time, the associate--who appeared to be a member of management--continued to push the benefits of the card rather than respecting my response. It is frustrating to feel 'shaken down' at the register when I am already there to make a purchase. To make matters worse, once it was clear I wouldn't be signing up, she stopped all pleasantries and wouldn't even make eye contact. I understand that corporate mandates credit card pitches, but employees--especially those in management--should be trained to accept a customer's 'no' after the first request. Please do better, TJ Maxx; respect for the customer should come before meeting sales quotas. read more

I was just in TJMAXX, Fairfield, CA branch. Someone swiped my cart filled with the items I was planning to buy. In the cart was also my 70th Anniversary Disneyland black hoodie which I took off coz it got hot. I went right away to the Security guard who was there. He reported it at the back so they can check the camera. Whoever at the back came out and spoke to me. He gave me the impression that they know who took it. So I waited and waited. Not sure for what. I spoke to the Security guy every now and then and ask what are we waiting for why can't we just approach the person coz I gave him a detailed description what my hoodie looked like. We went to Disneyland last month and they're still celebrating their 70th anniversary so the design is distinct, and what are the other items in the cart. I was waiting and waiting come to find out if I haven't insisted to talk to the person from the back again that the person who swiped my cart already left. I was given the option to report to the police. Crazy and stupid what's the point of me waiting if they're not going to approach the person who took the cart. I felt bad for the Security guy in fornt coz his hands are tied coz he was given the instruction not to approach. I was told that their concern that they may be violence etc. etc.. Nuts. What kind of system is that. This tjmaxx sucks. They just left me there to wait and they didn't do anything. read more

Another one of my favorite stores in the area. They do a pretty good job of keeping this place put together despite customers making a mess of things. The store itself is great sized with a large variety of things to choose from. They have a pretty big selection of purses too, which I'm always looking at lol. Make sure you always check the clearance items because there are excellent deals you can come across. I've found so many things on clearance that were super cheap and not even damaged. I went to the TJMAxx Home Store in Petaluma (a few times) and had a lot of fun. There is a lot of 'stuff' to weed through, but I did find some 'treasures' ..very cheap. Two large elegant Portuguese cotton Euro-sham pillows and covers ($50 for the pair!!!!!); a truly beautiful blue glazed ceramic pitcher/vase ($15 only), adorable sheets and washcloths, etc. I have less luck on the 'clothing' side of the store; many items are colorful but cheaply made so not appealing; I am a fan of their holiday chocolates....from Italy. The Christas antas tasted exactly the same as the Valentines hearts, but all delicious and ridiculously cheap. Its a fun place for 'retail therapy'. read more

Horrible experience. I was shopping around and this guy with a backpack on was following me.. first of all I was looking at lunch bags for my husband. Looking for a non girlee one and was moving stuff around and this Caucasian man walks up on me. I didn't think anything of it at first. I'm look through the bags to see if the Tupperware would fit in it and what was best for him. Then the guy is circling around looking at stuff that he wouldn't be looking for. I thought that was weird but I found the bag I wanted and went to the front and a basket because I'm clearing buying more than first anticipated. So I just thought that guy was weird and moved on. He disappeared. Then I'm looking around in the women's swimsuits area and he runs up again now looking at women's clothes with his phone in his had. Looking at dresses like WTF. Not I'm firmly believing that this is an associate of TJMAXX following me around as if I'm stealing from them. I WILL NEVER BE SHOPPING HERE AGAIN! I've never felt like that before in a store. It happens because I'm black that's no excuse. So beware if you African Americans and you are shopping at this TJMAXX THEY ARE FOLLOWING YOU AROUND THE STORE. During travels sometimes you forget something, your shoes sabotage you, or you just need to pick something up. That was the purpose in SCW and I's visit to this TJ Maxx. The store is what you would expect if you've been to any other TJ Maxx. Mostly devoted to Women's apparel, some home goods, bags, a baby section and a quite small Men's area. The store itself is clean, but needs some shelf love here and there. With the volume of people going through items are going to be moved around a bit but it looked as though no one had really come through in a while to reorganize things. Ultimately we didn't find what we needed but that wouldn't keep us from stopping in here in the future. read more

Tj Maxx has been getting a ton of influence on tik tok and I couldn't help but wonder if I'd find some good deals for myself. I've been to this location 2 times in the last week and I could spend hours perusing the aisles. This TJ Maxx location feels exactly like a Marshall's. I know that Marshall's, home goods, and Tj Maxx are all owned by the same company, however, I was told Tj Maxx was more "elevated". In my experience, they feel the same. Overall, you can get some good deals here and spend money on things you didn't know you needed. read more

Have to give my updated experience at this location. My cashier Myleah was a beautiful soul. She made me want to work their so I can work along side her. She had such an inviting smile. As she rang my items she made small talk and gave the best customer service. She informed me she had been working there for a short period but the service she gave seemed liked she's been working there for years. I came only for a birthday gift but left out spending more than I expected to. Myleah's smile and service made it worth while. This is a nice store. Parking is easy on the outside and they are plenty of fact. Once you walk in they have the baskets ready for you and they claim them as well of course the cove at 19 pandemic measures they have a max capacity.There is a lot of plants everywhere going from the shoes to the cosmetics make up and hair stuff as well such as a plethora of hand sanitizer since it was overly made. Good for cheap make up and skin care like bad habit. Never have I ever found clothing. Very shopped out or dry boring styles. Have found house ware, gummy and other random things. I am not a shop lifter however you would not know that the way you get followed around. I went in about 830-9pm. I was there with my son to look at a necklace for a jem piece I have. I wanted my son's opinion so I went to find him. Well I got there and showed him a couple. I really had an interest in one and I look for someone and stood there about 5-10 minutes watching for someone and then some other people showed up and suddenly got assisted. I feel disregarded like I was invisible. I was wearing a bright red Christmas sweatshirt with Snoopy. I know darn well I'm not invisible. The worst part about a person making you feel invisible is it just hit me today that but brother who's life was stolen will not be with us this Christmas. So I was already feeling hurt. I love shopping at this particular TJ Maxx, I always find great stuff during the week (no idea what it's like on the weekends ...) Bareminerals, Mac, Nexxus, OPI are some of the brands I am always "score." Clothing for trendy styles especially yoga and work out clothes are usually a good buy. Pretty good housewares - I made a good purchase on stoneware dish set imported from England recently and they have great cutting boards and candles. I wear a small shoe size so never have found shoes but have purchased some nice quality Italian leather purses. Service at the front "cash wrap" is very good and usually some kind employee walks around to see if any customers need a cart or basket or help with product. The manager had to cancel our transaction and start a new one in order to give us the appropriate discount on seasonal Christmas items and several items that were in the Christmas section were quickly deemed not to be a Christmas item and the discount was not honored. No attempt to check the discount table was made. And we were made to feel like we were trying to get discounts on items that were not seasonal even though we said they were not Christmas items. They had us do 2 separate transactions for our purchase just to make sure we didn't get any additional discounts on regular items. It's extremely frustrating to be made to feel like you're trying to steal. read more

Once I wanted to return one thing and this girl with red hair was helping me and was rude the entire time. She denied my return, even though I had a valid receipt and only had the item for 3 days. Their return policy at the time was 30 days. I let her know this and she literally yelled in my face telling me she wouldn't accept the return. I wasn't going to let her bully me so I explained I have a receipt and it's been 3 days since my purchase and the item is unopened. I should be able to return. But she screamed "no! You think you're all that!!" She was probably 19 years old and I think her mother was the manager because when the manager did come over to see what was going on she told her to stand to the side and the girl turned to the manager and said "no! She thinks she's all that!!" That's when another customer at stepped up and let the manager know she should fire the employee because her actions were uncalled for and the manager just stood their and meekly laughed and said she was going to return the item. The entire store was appalled and so was I. I don't know where that employee got the idea that I was all that. But it was a moment that left me feeling disrespected and I never went back to shop at this specific tj maxx. It seems like insecure and hateful employees only work here. read more

I'm only giving this a 5 stars for the customer service that Gabby the cashier had. She's so helpful! Aside from that, I came in the last 10 minutes looking for one specific item. And didn't think it'd be a problem coming in quick while the shop was open. However, when I came inside, I was greeted abruptly by the fair skinned lady working near the jewelry department informing me with a rushed and blunt tone that, "we close in 9 minutes" and she eyed me in the bag section while I was browsing. I felt a negative energy from her. Not even a hello before the closing remark. I would say my short stop was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming as I did not want to stay in much longer. I went to Sephora last week and I saw that they were selling their Beauty Blender Sponges for $20 for 1. Here at TJ Maxx they have a copy cat brand and you get 3 for $9.99!!! WOW It works just the same! PLUSSSS I found a makeup brush cleaning mat for only $7.99 that is an exact dupe for the one Sigma Beauty makes and sells for $32!!! Another score!!! I also saw beautiful home decor! I LOVE LOVE LOVE home decor! There were a bunch of gorgeous frames and I ended up buying one to frame a picture of my boyfriend and me!! Tee hee giggles LOL He hates taking pics but I LOVE IT! HA HA While I was shopping around one of the employees asked me if I needed a shopping cart, yeah this is a common question that you'll probably get at a specialty store at the mall but I was shocked that a store like TJ Maxx would offer! How nice! Not only that but the employee was SUPER chipper!! She cheerfully exclaimed that she was so excited for fall to come and she was excited about the fall decor! My mom needed to shop for some things before she heads back for PI. Since we were in the area, we popped in at Tj Maxx (my first time here). The first thing I noticed - this store was neat and super clean. You could probably eat off the floor! They stocked men's, women's and children's apparel, shoes, iPod accessories, gift cards, cook books, some DVD movies and more stuff including brand name merchandise. The other day I came in for essentials such as clothing, beauty products and bathing suits for a trip. As soon as I was done shopping I went up to the register to pay and one of the cashiers that was helping me out did not seem to be in a good mood and I tried to be nice to lighten up the awkwardness but she was not having it. I had a coupon that I wanted to use but didn't seem to be working off the computer systems, so I asked her if everything was okay but she just said the date doesn't show it was expired. So I asked her if she needs to get the manager to help her out since there was a long line and I understand her stress and when you're being rushed under pressure. so she blatantly said I don't need someone to tell me how to do my job when I have been working here a long time. So I apologized and said it was okay we don't need to use the coupon. Despite this she continued whispering under her breath complaining, once the transaction was over I heard her say bye you ghetto black bitch under her breath as I turned to walk away! For the rest the day I had me feeling very upset because whether you are having a bad day or not it does not give you the excuse to treat someone like that! I don't really come to this store so I will just base it on the times I visited. I don't come in here for the clothes. Usually I go here to find planner related items. Like sticky notes, journals, thank you cards etc. But more than anything it's washi tapes and stickers I look for and through it all the times I visited there was nothing. I know other locations carry them so I'm not really sure if maybe at this particular location those are low runner items so they don't carry a lot so it gets sold out right away or they don't sell it at all. read more

Went there as I needed new blue jeans. 90 % of the clothing is for females which is fine. Only one pair of blue jeans in the men's department. If I was 5'2" and 125 pounds they would have been perfect. I'm 6'3" and definitely not 125. For men they had 95% shirts and shorts. The pants were kinda hideous and not my size. read more

Just wanted to say I am impressed with what this particular store is doing for COVID -19 infection control. I appreciate that there's a staff outside the store letting costumers know which carts have been sanitized and also offers hand sanitizers. Inside is organized, although not well stocked yet, they have made sure that people can be 6ft apart. Cashiers can also sanitized their area as they go through costumers.
