This is one such place, a cute gift shop with a nice selection of beautiful jewelry, crazy colorful clothes, teas, pillows, hippie purses, awesome metal statues, felted moccasins, gongs(!), Himalayan pop CDs, you name it. It's nestled in probably the prettiest secret alleyway in all of Sonoma (Place de Pyrenees), next to a fantastic Nepalese restaurant and across from a lively Irish pub. There's a great selection of books, vinyl records, games, LEGOs, stationary items and more. It's very well laid out and I think whoever is in charge of visual displays did a great job. There are thoughtful groupings of featured books by category, vibe and aesthetic. It made me want to buy everything. I also liked that there are a few armchairs scattered throughout the store to encourage reading. I love supporting all of Napa's bookstores!

I came across this quant and extensive art gallery on my way to Jean Edwards Cellars. The space…read morelooks small from the outside, but the layout curves around in a maze of gallery rooms. There was so much to see from a jewelry gallery room to an array of artistry. The building dates back to 1915 when it was a distillery. The artist, Jessel was an artist with other creators in this space until she took it over. She showcases her work of course, and local artists. The two gentleman that day were kind and helpful, especially John Roos who's an artist and his work is displayed in the gallery, with a room with his creations.

Last time we were there they had a special event going on. The gallery is filled with lots of different artists work. I like that there is so much to look at, something for everyone. I stopped into C'est La Paire looking for comfortable walking shoes and Deb was so sweet and helpful. I also loved Tay & Grace and Kalifornia Jean Bar--both had a ton of things I wanted to take home. We grabbed coffee at Deuces, which is super cute and local-feeling, and I picked up a gift for my nephews and my dog at Hopscotch & Bark (honestly one of the cutest shops)! We wandered into Eiko's for happy hour, which was gold - great prices and really solid sushi. Definitely try the Ricky Ricardo on Vacation and, oh my god, the Bluefin Avocado Sashimi is out of this world. We were walking back to the hotel and happened to hear some live music down at Tonewood & Courage, which was such a cool venue. Overall it's just an easy, enjoyable spot to spend the day with a little bit of everything and we didn't even have to get in our car. Everyone loved it!

Eiko's has been a family favorite forever and one of us doesn't even eat fish - it has something for everyone... but you can't go wrong with any of their sushi rolls. We can't go to First Street without stopping at The Bennington and Copperfield's. My boys love picking out a new book. They have a great kid's section. And don't forget to climb the squirrel for 15 minutes, at least! :) Oh and we had the best date making our own candles/scents at Bougie. I highly recommend taking a class. Afterward, we had dinner at Hestan, and it was incredible! I highly recommend checking them out. Tonewood & Courage is such a local gem. I wish I could go to more of their shows, such a cool venue. The shelves were crowded, cluttered, and there was an unpleasant acrid scent to most of the aisles. Hopscotch and Bark (the dog shop attached to the space) was much more clean and comfortable to walk through. Almost everything The Bennington Napa Valley carried were low quality Napa themed giftware or party favors and there appeared to be nothing unique or handmade in the store. All in all, it wasn't for me and I wouldn't return.

What an interesting store! Buy refillable containers, fill them up with supplies like soaps and…read morecleaning products and when you run out, come back and refill. Of course, you can bring your own containers, they will weigh the container so you pay only for the product not the container. The store is an odd mixture of what looks like really giftable items and essentially a bunch of reusable containers both empty and already filled. Towards the back, there are enormous containers of dish soap, laundry detergent, hand soap and what have you. You have some choices in terms of scent. All the scents I noticed were from natural sources. I haven't had a chance to fully process the prices but it looks like you pay the full price for the refillable container you purchase plus you pay a price roughly equivalent to going to the supermarket to pick up a similar product for the refill. I have tried the laundry detergent, the dish soap and the liquid hand soap. All of the products work well. The fragrance for the liquid soaps is definitely a cut above your standard supermarket brand. The scents are coming from natural ingredients, they didn't irritate my eczema, induce migraines the way artificial fragrances will do to me, or nauseate me. I didn't have any allergic reactions to any of the products. The dish soap is reasonably gentle but might not be the gentlest one on the market. I went thru a couple of days when I had to wash load after load of pots and I noticed my hands started bleeding. Perhaps it was just all the cooking and perhaps it was overexposure to the soap. I temporarily switched to using rubber gloves and my blue Kirkland brand and the problem has not returned. But for routine use, the Juniper Station version is more pleasant and doesn't normally cause my hands to bleed. Thanks to my allergies I went through a few products reading ingredients labels. Just about all the products use naturally sourced ingredients with safer choices substituting for more problematic chemicals. I did purchase one item intending to give it as a gift. But then I realized unless the gifted has access to a refillable station it's rather pointless. And unless the person wants to refill, it's double pointless. So essentially I purchased a nice refillable container and a large sample of soap instead of the actual concept of refill-ability. But this is a great place to pick up gift worthy refillable containers. I paid more for a similar container decades ago at Target. It lasted 15 or so years before it finally bit the dust. If you're looking for more eco-friendly choices, this store offers some truly spectacular options as long as you live within convenient refill distance.
