While waiting for my appointment at the Lip Lab, hubby and I went into the bookstore just a few doors down and I'm so glad we did! It's a beautiful space and a refreshing reminder of how special brick and mortar bookstores really are these days. As a family that loves reading, we're always on the lookout for great finds especially for our five year old, who's currently obsessed with graphic novels and funny stories like Dog Man and Captain Underpants. The store's layout made browsing a breeze everything was clearly labeled, well-organized, and easy to navigate.We even scored a few great picks from their Sale table! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were very reasonable. We left with three books and a coloring book for our son. A lovely little stop that made our day! read more

This bookstore is very cozy and draws you in; it's clean, organized and the vibe is very relaxing, artistic and laid back. I love that it's local and friendly! There is a wonderful selection of books, very unique finds and cutesy items. A wonderful bookstore that both children as well as adults will enjoy! The staff is very friendly and offers assistance but is not pushy for you to buy. The books, cards, plushies, note cards, journals and items are reasonably priced. I came to town to vacation with my gfs. I had to stop by this place after dinner because it was so charming. I love book stores that really focus on fun placement and artistic creativity. The window displays at night just draw you in. Everything in here is appealing, and not just for children. I thought the fiction tables were done very well, and so were the teenage areas of book series. Fun, warm, and inviting! read more

I'm gonna keep the shirt, sweet. I'm not much of a reader. I'm more of an eater if you know what I mean. I've been known to read a book or two literally a book or two I would not go onto a third book because it might spoil the first two and be perfectly honest those were good books and I will always be a fan of Dr. Seuss and Eric Carl. Joking aside when traveling bookstore is a fun place to stop by especially when you're with other people that might find them a little more interesting than you do so we stopped in while we were scooting around town and window shopping . We grabbed a couple gifts for some friends for upcoming birthdays and holidays, and enjoyed the staff the cleanliness and the beautiful location. Might be a little dry for the younger kids as it's not so much of an integrated toy experience like some bookstores are but very nice and not a bad way to spend a half an hour. Price is working competitive and everything seemed about what you would expect as far as value for a brick and mortar bookshop. read more

I love Cooperfield books. I really do! I found out that they closed the location that I used to go to. But this place is bright and airy and they have a lot to offer. My issue is that I'm a teacher and I get teacher discounts for everything that I can. My sister mentioned this as an issue and I found it to be true. They will only discount those things that you use in the classroom or for the classroom. But getting a meditation book or something else for myself as a teacher should be acceptable. So I got a discount on the Happy Birthday lights for my classroom, but the teacher mindfulness and the book of recipes didn't count. As much as I rag on Half priced books, at least as a teacher, I get 10% off every purchase, regardless of the reason. That is supporting a teacher. Barnes and Nobel now has a free teaching account too. That's also support. Cooperfields books can do better and should by their teachers. We are underpaid and work really hard daily. A discount on a book of recipes is the least they can do. Teachers deserve to decompress and relax and we should get a discount for that! read more

Visiting Napa from the East Bay, we were strolling around downtown and came across...a book store! These days, unfortunately, it's like a sighting of a rare, exotic animal. With no book stores near our home, it was a treat to go inside and browse around. Most of my reading is done via Kindle, but I still love bookstore browsing to see if there's anything I want in hardcopy. My wife is my analog half and loves the feel of real books. They had some wonderful choices on their Sale table and she found herself a couple books that looked great - with a corresponding great price. The bookstore itself is a gem: light, bright and airy atmosphere, perfect for finding that next book for your nightstand. Books are nicely categorized so it's easy to narrow down your search. Additionally, there's a big selection of magazines, another thing hard to find these days. We enjoyed our visit. Book lovers have a good place to stop by when in Napa. read more

Customer service is not a value at this Copperfields. I bought a collection of small board books ($11.99) and my 2 year old friend tore one apart within minutes, due to poor construction. I took it right back. The receipt said defective merchandise could be exchanged for same, but the box I bought was the last one. They refused to take the return, they would not allow an exchange for a different book. Napa has BOOKMINE (new and used and a cafe), and I am looking forward to Barnes and Noble coming to town soon, and will not be shopping at Copperfields Napa again. read more

Great store!! It is in one of the best locations where you can walk to each store and grab everything. The aisles are clean and the staff greet you once you come in. It has a small selection of books but it is still a nice selection. There are other knicnacs for purchase as well. read more

I stopped by to just see what I could find, and of course ended up leaving with something: Cien Años de Soledad (100 years of solitude) by Gabriel García Márquez. Worth checking out, and they can order anything you're look. Also, they have really cute stuff like unique calendars, candles, scrap books, even a RBG stuffed doll. Kids are welcome. It's a sight for sore eyes to see a book store other than Barnes and Nobles around these parts. I recently did a visit down yonder today and was greeted by two cashiers that were more than happy to help me look for a book that I wanted to get my fiance. Sadly, they didn't have it in stock. What a great bookstore in Napa. The bookshelves are lined with books and they have a play area for kids. 6 years ago, I put together a community service day for a Head Start program in Napa. I LOVE that Copperfield's has such a great community outlook. They helped me get books at cost for the kids and I got another donor to back the other half of the costs for the books. Lovely bookstore. Highly accommodating staff, they were even willing to track down books for my sister that were out of print.

This small bookstore had astonishing variety and a high quality-to-quantity ratio. We stopped by during a trip without expecting much, and were pleasantly surprised. We ended up buying a whole stack of children's books, some of which were hard to find on Amazon. Indoor decor is charming and staff is friendly. Just FYI there are almost no technical (e.g. computers) books. A gem of a place in Napa Valley, and we expect to visit again. read more

I love big books and I cannot lie. OK, not very original, but certainly true. This place has loads of great books with solid recommendations from the employees. The magazine section at the front is fantastic, though my favorite part is the sale books. I got a brand new paperback for only $4. Definitely stop by if you're around. read more

Without a doubt, Copperfield's is one of my favorite book stores. Copperfield's used to be this funky little shop in downtown Napa. Even then, it had an overwhelming charm. It was the type of bookstore that would inspire booklust in kiddos and adults alike. At some point after Bel Aire Bowl left the planet, Copperfield's took over a portion of the vacancy. It has evolved into a wonderful store. It has a cafe, books, periodicals, journals and the like, all the important stuff for a book store to have. It also has an abundance of charm and a very warm atmosphere. I would rank Copperfield's up there with Codys and Staceys, just on a smaller scale. read more

I took my niece and nephew to Copperfield's yesterday, hoping to learn about the civil rights movement for black history month. I was directed to the kids American history section, where I could not find a single book with a black historical figure. I asked employees for help and was informed that they were not expecting a shipment and did not having anything else in the store. I ended up going to Napa Bookmine where I found a great selection. My partner has encouraged me to stick to the facts for this review, but I will say one subjective thing- It breaks my heart knowing how difficult it is for my nephews to access role models who look like them. I plan to support authors and book stores whose work improves that. read more

They need to learn what is Customer Service and they did not like to apologize The store is so small .. they need to order your books most of the time And when you order the books and you ask to wrap the books for a special day .. they did not wrap the books because you did not pay the books when your order them They did not inform you about this and when you arrived to pay and to collect the books nothing is done and the quantity of the books your order is unfortunately not correct. I stumbled on this cute bookstore when I got lost getting to Target (who knew Napa had two Target's?!). It's a quiet little bookstore that's actually bigger than it looks. They have a huge selection to choose from and the employee's are always cheerful and willing to help. My only complaint is that the Young Adult section is labeled weirdly and some books are out of order (for example a series an author wrote will be on the left side of the section while another will be on the right and some YA is mixed in with some Middle Grade books). read more

I was picking some pastries at sift and decided to check this place out. I see this place whenever I go to whole foods but never bothered to go in inside. From the outside, I had the impression that its really really small but to my surprise, its not that small. I mean its small compared to barnes and nobles. However, this place has the small town feel that barnes and noble lacks. I was looking for BJ Novak 's "The book with no pictures" for my little girl and I thought they probably don't have it. To my surprise, the lady who works there brought me to the kid's section and handed me a signed copy of the book! I left super excited! And by the way, I ended up buying more stuff from their book sale section. I totally recommend this place. I'm planning to bring my kids next time I go there. read more

First, I am shocked that there is still a book store IN Napa. I was in town visiting my mom at the hospital, and she asked me to pick her up something to read. I walked in and was greeted by two very friendly ladies, who totally helped me find the book I was looking for. yay! apparently I was in luck that they had my book, because their selection is not huge, and unless it's a new release or best seller you are pretty much out of luck. I am sure I'll be back, mostly because they are the only game in town, but I did enjoy their customer service. read more

Local Bay Area=automatically quality. You can't get a Barnes and Noble here, too small a town although this place has the feel of it. Downside is that their book selection tends to be seasonal and up to date rather than seeing some old classics you never picked up but now can.
