Everything is so excellent here. The service is outstanding and we were so honored to be able to try so much amazing food with Chef Kevin! Offerings that were particularly outstanding - Aburi nigiri - a must order. I love when sushi is seared slightly and the flavors were all sooo amazing. - Uni chawanmushi and crab roll - what an excellent combination of textures and flavors. This was extremely delicious. The dashi of the chawanmushi was made from the claws of dungeness crab and you could tell every bit was very ocean forward. The egg was perfectly soft and the crab roll was also rich and buttery with fresh crab. - nigiri - all around delicious. The uni and amberjack were my favorites. - A5 Wagyu - what a treat! The meat was so fatty and buttery and being able to sear it on the hot stone was so fun and delicious! - the miso soup - housemade tofu was so silky smooth and the broth was really great. - Wagyu seared and potsticker - both excellent! Great flavor and quality.

Morimoto is on my "go to" list every time I go to Napa as I can usually count on some great sushi, and tasty drinks but the service here is hit or miss. Usually I give the service a pass as long as we get what we want but on this visit, the service was really off. Our server came over once to take our order, and the rest of the night we were flagging down anyone we could to get more water, tell someone an order didn't show up, to try to get another drink. What the heck? At one point a manager came over and we said we were having trouble getting what we needed but even though he sent the guy over with water, we continued to search for our server. The sushi is still good, the ambiance continues to be loud, and we had a great seat by the windows, but my friends were disappointed and I felt bad as I was the one who recommended the place. There are plenty of other places to eat in Napa. Based on this visit, I may have to think of another place to bring people when I come to town. I hate disappointing my friends!

Our NYE meal was so fun. We went here and had a nice meal. The food was relatively good. Some items could you a bit more flavor, like the halibut we ordered. The standouts were the 15-layer cheesecake with miso-infused caramel, and the delicious hamachi. The service was pretty on-point for NYE. There were some issues, like missing an item that we ordered. We felt like we were at a celebration with big groups of guests wearing so much sequence to happy couples like us getting a special meal. I would come back or try Morimoto's other restaurant locations!

My husband and I really enjoyed all of the food we ordered, and we left very full! They were very nice with giving us a dessert to celebrate us being on our honeymoon. We liked sitting outside next to the river. Service did get a bit slow towards the last 1/3 of our meal. We visited on a Tuesday so perhaps it was an unplanned busy weeknight? All in all it was a positive dining experience.

This was our second time enjoying a lovely dinner at Morimoto. Shishito peppers, sashimi tray, duck confit fried rice, and braised black cod were absolutely delicious. Shout out to our server, Brooke, who provided excellent service. Looking forward to our next time and the many items we still want to try.

Had an ambient dinner for our first meal of our Napa Trip. 5 minute uber from our hotel. The entrance is so artsy and well designed. Feels like someone's home living room area. Took awhile to get seated even tho we had a reservation but got to enjoy the waiting area. Finally got seated and the ambiance of the dining room is so beautiful full of vibrant energy and nice decor. Our server came and gave us nice recommendations. We ordered the edamame, aburi sushi 4 ways, clam & tofu miso, and 2 autumn fish offerings and the $60 sushi chef combo. Our edamame and miso soups came out one after the other shortly. The edamame was warm and perfectly cooked. My clam miso soup was full of clam but the soup was salty. The wait to get our sushi orders of the aburi and our chef combo was a very very long wait i think 45 mins to an hour so we decided to order drinks. The fruity drink i was given was nice and refreshing. Friend also got the waygu old fashioned and enjoyed it. Finally got the aburi and they fired two out of the three in front of me. My fav was the A5 japanese waygu melt in ur mouth! The toro was good as well but too much mayo on top. The other two were good too but not warm like im used to getting at other sushi places. Usually they torch and u get it right away for everything. The sushi combo took another 30mins or longer to come out, i saw other tables getting sushi plates before us who arrived later. Not the best feeling. The sushi was alright. I liked our hamachi roll, and there were a few choice pieces i liked like the tuna and some unique pieces. But also pieces that were not good and did not taste fresh. We got the chocolate sphere for dessert which is fun bc they pour flaming vermouth ontop of the chocolate sphere and it melts. It was tasty some parts too vermouth-y and bitter but the middle with the ice cream is very good. Overall the ambiance was nice but the wait and quality of fish was not up to par and would not recommend.

My Review for Morimoto Napa,,,, For our first year of love, I planned something sweet, My lady had wished for Morimoto's elite. Atmosphere tranquil, the service divine, Each waiter was friendly with knowledge that shines. The Chef's 7-course special no words can convey, A masterpiece menu that stole breath away. The photos will show what my rhyme can't explain, Spectacular flavors engraved in our brain. Thanks to Dino for making the night so complete, We'll be back again, this spot can't be beat!

Food was pretty good, I would say 7/10 for sushi. The o-Toro and Maguro were cut very well, super fresh and tasty. The service was very helpful and efficient, the water glasses were almost never empty, and the food was served quickly. Inside is massive, there is a mostly open kitchen and a lot of seating both inside and outside. It is a little on the pricy side but worth the cost.

Really sad to rate Morimoto so low, but considering the hype surrounding Chef Morimoto, I had higher expectations for this restaurant and my experience here. While I would definitely come back for the food, I think there are quite a few better spots in Napa for special occasions with much better service. We came here for my birthday dinner, and the hosts were lovely enough to move our reservation last minute to a time that worked better for us, which we appreciated. The hostesses were very nice upon our arrival, but I felt like the rest of the wait staff repeatedly dropped the ball when it came to service. They dropped portions of the dishes, forgot utensils/spoons, and were overall not attentive/did not pace the food well, resulting in a 2+ hour dinner and periods where we had too many dishes on our table or no food at all for an awkwardly long time. In terms of the food, every dish was executed perfectly, with the exception of the XO Halibut, since the scallop component of the XO sauce doesn't mesh well with an already fishy halibut. The sushi was incredibly fresh and well-cut, with unique and hard-to-find summer varietals such as barracuda. My favorite dish of the night was probably the white clam miso, which was probably one of the BEST miso soups that I've ever had.

Came here for lunch dinner might be different. We walked into the other Morimoto restaurant first but were told the sushi spot was a few doors down. The food was good but considering the premium price point I was expecting something a bit more memorable. The sushi was decent not the best but not the worst. The portion sizes felt noticieblly small for the cost. The service was pretty good and the interior is pretty nice.

Is there a cake cutting fee?

How many pieces of fish come out with each order of sashimi?

As many as you want to order. The menu is priced as 1 piece.

Do you have to provide proof of vaccination to be seated?

No. They didn't ask to show our proof.

Do they still have the omakase menu?

No, I went in June or July and they no longer have the omakase menu. However they did mention you can have the waiter pick out items for you and provide a variety of options.

    Need reservation for lunch?

They aren't necessary. But you may be waiting for a while.

Do they allow dogs at the outdoor patio?

    Yes, they do!

Where is the best place to sit? Bar, outside, or dining room?

Outside, very loud inside during the dinner rush.

    Do they have soy paper?

    No , they do not

If you try to purchase a gift certificate for the Napa location, their website indicates they are only good for the Waikiki location. IT issue?

Is there a happy hour? Is so, what days/times?

I know most of the Mori has HH and the Napa location informed me that there is a separate menu daily starting at 3pm-5pm. I would call to confirm.

Do I have to dress up to visit the restaurant?

I think business casual or dressed up is encouraged and most people try to wear nicer clothes. With that said, I've worn jeans and a tank top before and seen similar. I've never been turned away for dressing casually.

When I book dinner reservations do I need ask for the omakase meal up front? Some restaurants only have so many offerings a night of the omakase so want to make sure I don't miss out?

No you do not, it is on the menu so you can order when you sit and dine.

Anyone know the name of the cocktail with the star anise garnish? I can't find it on their menu online but i had it on my last visit and it was the best cocktail I've ever had. I want to know if they're still serving it. Thank you.

Is there a corkage fee if you bring your own bottle of wine?

Yes, a 30$ one to be exact.

Does Morimoto serve craft beer? Thanks

Which table is the best spot in this restaurant?

Depends on the time of year. If the weather permits for outdoor seating, that is our favorite. It looks out over the river. Also good people watching.

Has anyone tried both lunch and dinner? Is marimoto better for lunch or dinner? Is omakase available for lunch?

Definitely better at lunch!!! Get the award winning burger! You get more bang for your buck at lunch

    Reverse happy hour?

Not that I know of. They just have the one happy hour in the afternoon.

I see this spot all the time, everytime I'm in Downtown Napa. I've been meaning to do this a long time. And today is the day, I check-it-out. I'm here at Morimoto's other, and second location right in Napa this Friday evening. This is my 3rd time being at this Chef's establishment. This completes the circle of life. I didn't expect it to look like this in here, it's slightly Upscale, spacious, I really like the High ceilings, Architecture, Design, and it's modern, clean, and fresh. Today, I'm going to Duck it out. I went with the fresh Duck Ramen ラーメン, but I also had to get it with the Duck Tacos this time, that's another double whammy. Everything is made out of Duck. And it changes seasonally, but this Ramen happen to be off the Menu, they made this for me today, Limited time or Run. The Broth was out of this world, deep, savory, packed with flavor, and the Noodles were cooked just right. And Wow, the Tacos were phenomenal, what an awesome take, this was one of the best Tacos I ever had so far, believe it or not. I gotta give them some points, for orginality. And I can't forget about, their own crafted tea in Japan, that's very interesting, how it's crafted in Japan. It was spectacular, cool place to hangout, and I liked the atmosphere, it was very pleasant. I give this 4.6/4.7 out of 5 stars. That's a high score. I'm satisfied.

The cocktails were a standout, particularly the lychee cocktail. Light, refreshing, and well balanced, it was the perfect drink to enjoy while taking in the riverfront setting. For appetizers, the spicy chicken wontons and karaage chicken were both excellent. The wontons had a great balance of flavor and heat, while the karaage was crispy, flavorful, and well executed. These dishes were among our favorites of the meal. Unfortunately, the hand roll sushi was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It was not cut, making it difficult to share, and overall felt fairly mediocre. Nothing about the flavors, texture, or presentation particularly stood out. The beef and broccoli was a mixed experience. The sauce was delicious and packed with flavor, but the beef itself was tough and cut into larger chunks than expected, which made the dish feel somewhat underwhelming overall. While not every dish was a home run, the beautiful riverside location, refreshing cocktails, and strong appetizer selection made for a very enjoyable visit. I would recommend Morimoto Napa for drinks, appetizers, and a relaxing view of the river. The spicy chicken wontons, karaage chicken, and lychee cocktail were the highlights of our experience and are what I would order again.

I also tried Double Crunch (a dry ramen rub) and Jala-Lujah (a smooooth jalapeño flavor). So if you're hesitant on what to order, definitely go for a half & half order of chicken wings. But if you're bold and ready to take on some traditional Korean cuisine, I highly recommend their Bibimbop. ALWAYS get a fried egg with it and do not forget to mix everything together! Good music with lot of fun things to take pics of or just look at. They even have propagated plants for sale, too! So plant parents, you might find your next plant baby here. So I found myself out in Hiddenbrooke visiting my mother and we decided to go get lunch-didn't…read morereally feel like driving too far after driving down from Sacramento so we chose the local restaurant in Hiddenbrooke, which I've always kind of enjoyed-The Loft Thai and Sushi located in Hiddenbrooke. This place is located in a small multi tenant shopping center located near the entrance of Hiddenbrooke with ample parking-so that was nice. This restaurant is for sure a local restaurant that serves the Hiddenbrooke community with most of their patrons being locals from the community. That was what we found upon arrival, most of the customers did seem to be locals in for a quick lunch. I would describe this place as an Asian fusion restaurant.-the depth of their menu was surprising-like "Cheesecake Factory-esque" level depth of menu.Their sushi menu was many pages and I hadn't even planned on getting sushi but after looking at this menu,I had to try something-so went with a simple Spicy Tuna Roll ($12.95). Off the Thai menu we decided to go with the Trio Meat Fried Rice ($20.95) Virgin Drunken Noodle ($18.95) Pad See U ($16.95) and Drunken Noodle ($16.95) Well I don't consider myself an expert when it comes to Asian fusion but I've had it more than a handful of times-so I can say with confidence that the food here was pretty good- very tasty-the Virgin Drunken Noodles were Interesting due to their use of glass noodles-the beef in that dish was seasoned well.I ordered my Drunken Noodles spicy and for that they delivered, quite a spicy dish. The Pad See U had really good veggies on it-very tasty and snappy. The Spicy Tuna Roll was pretty standard-the highlight being I somehow got my mother to try sushi for the 1st time by eating a piece of this sushi roll-she didn't hate it which I think is a pretty good review from a 73 year old Native American woman trying sushi for the 1st time. In closing,if u ever find yourself out in the Vallejo or Hiddenbrooke area and you want to give a small local business a try-this place is a pretty good choice-with a menu this big, your bound to find something on there that will make you happy. PS....I forgot to say I really enjoyed the house hot sake-pretty good flavor and perfect item to warm you up in this cold winter times we are in.

Kenzo Napa was established by Kenzo Tsujimoto in 2016, and received Michelin 1 star in 2018, and every year ever since. The price for Kaiseki is $295 per person, and my husband ordered the Omakase Pairing $197 and I got a bottle of Aoki Shuzo, "Yuki Otoko" Junmai, Niigata $40 to pair with the set. 2021 Suzu First glass of the omakase pairing is the sparking rose. This is made with 54% Malbec, 37% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc, with the smell of strawberry and blood orange. Cauliflower Chawanmushi The first dish is chawanmushi, with ginger, snow crab, etc. 2024 asatsuyu The second glass of the omakase pairing was the Sauvignon Blanc. The name is from Japanese meaning morning dew. Seasonal Hassun The second dish is the seasonal hassun, which is the traditional Japanese appetizer. Five different small dishes including the lotus root dumpling with bottarga, ehime bluefin tuna, shiso leaves rolled angel shrimp, Japanese yam with Italian caviar, and Hokkaido scallop with persimmon with peanuts. Sawahime Yamahai Junmai Third glass of the omakase pairing is the Junmai with the aromas of gardenia, ripe kiwi, papaya, green peppercorn, aged comte cheese. Yamaguchi Tilefish Owan This one is our favorite dish of the day! Very fresh and refreshing, with fish and vegetable and mushroom. Midorikawa Daiginjo The fourth glass of the pairing has a great hint of spice but elegant at the same time. Oita Sea Bream Sashimi The fourth dishes is the sashimi, paired with ponzu sesame shoyu. 2023 yui Rosé This Rosé was made with 65% Malbec, 26% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Paired greatly with the next course. Simmered Mie Toro Sawara Mackerel Love the texture of the mackerel. 2021 Asuka Asuka was made with 83% Cabernet Franc, 11.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot. Got 93 points on Wine Enthusiast. Wagyu Tendon and Japanese Taro Croquette This Croquette was made with Japanese taro and wagyu beef. 2020 Rindo And with the next course is the red blend made with 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 23% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc. The wine has great berry aroma and spices. A5 Wagyu Tenderloin Jibuni The seventh course is the A5 wagyu beef steak. Cut into bite sizes, with mushrooms and veggies. Daishichi Minowamon This sake has a strong smell of berry, banana, and pear. Velvety and buttery. Hokkaido Sea Urchin, Ikura and Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Sushi Bowl served with red miso soup One of my favorite Japanese seafood bowl! Chef's Featured Desserts Three different desserts was great too. It has a goji berry panna cotta and fried spring roll with vanilla ice cream, and also a berry ice cream with caramelized walnut. And on the side there was a warm green tea, making a sweet and perfect ending.
