This was our third time visiting Eiko and will likely be our last. The service was subpar and in some instances downright rude. My daughter was served a drink with a hair in it. The bartender laughed it off and made of her new one, which we were charged for. My daughter was also served her food a full ten minutes later than everyone else at the table. There was no explanation, no apology, and definitely no one routinely checking on us to see if everything was to our liking. In fact, I had to flag down the hostess to get her to check on the status of my daughter's order. We were routinely travel to Napa from our home base in Sacramento, and always made it a point to stop here for drinks. Eaten at eikos many times. It's nothing mind blowing but it's an easy spot to stop and grab a quick lunch. Food and service is always good. Mainly leaving this review for the server on Thursday afternoon 4/16 around 5pm. Was walking past the restaurant and saw this obviously intoxicated women screaming at the server cursing him out and demanding 50% off because "the manager is a B *tch" then the man she was with also got riled up, but not at the server, at the woman, and started calling her a "xaned out b*tch" they were screaming about calling the cops lol just leaving this review so management knows that couple was obviously the problem and I hope that server isn't getting any flack for that interaction. I went to Napa in 2018 so this is an old review I forgot to post. I sure hope their service has improved since then. Our experience was a complete disaster. Ok to start off with food - free edamame with yelp check in was decent. We ordered sake, bunch of sushi rolls: heirloom, Ricardo, Napa valley, Vegas. Also some sashimi, some Cabernet and s'mores for dessert at the end. As for sushi - it was ok. Lots of sauces to cover up the quality of the fish which was mediocre at best. A hostess checked us in, we were sitting at the outside patio area. She said the table is dirty, we'll get it cleaned up if we want. We were kinda puzzled by that comment. Nobody came to wipe the table down anyway. Didn't look messy so we were like ok whatever. Our waiter was semi bald headed who wore a black t-shirt way too tight for his own comfort. So things that went wrong - he kept forgetting the food we ordered. Forgot one sushi roll, we waited 20 mins for it and reminded him multiple times about it. Bad service, took ages, forgot to bring food repeatedly. Served other annoying loud table who were also rude and he ignored us repeatedly for no reason. Seemed like that table he was friends with outside of work. Didn't clean our table. We did nothing to be rude to this waiter. He was just a dbg. Bad service. read more

Was a bit underwhelmed by Eikos. We wanted to get some sushi while in Napa so decided to stop into Eikos for dinner. I had the sashimi appetizer as well as two pieces of Toro Nigiri. The sashimi wasn't bad, but to be honest, the fish was a bit flavorless and I expected a little bit higher quality. The pieces were large though I must say so that was enjoyable. I have to give it to the Toro though - after having the sashimi, I wasn't sure if the Toro Nigiri was going to be great, but it was genuinely very good Toro and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was great. Our waitress was extremely attentive which I really appreciated and although it was a bit slow to get our requests, that wasn't necessarily her fault as the place was overwhelmingly busy. Ambience is cool - the place is huge, which I wasn't expecting but very modern and clean and a good place for a casual not fancy sushi dinner. Overall, I definitely had higher expectations for Eikos, but wouldn't say that it would cause me to never return. I would 100% give Eikos another shot next time I'm in Napa. read more

Been to Eiko's quite a few times and I've been wanting to have that 5 star experience so I could finally leave a great review. To start, very very friendly staff! Our server was great and he had an amazing personality to get us excited for our food. We ordered some Crispy Salmon Bites to start with ($22) and a miso soup (very delicious btw). The salmon bites came out and they were the tiniest things I've we've ever seen. Not saying we were expecting large portions but at least enough to justify the price. If you look closely on the photo, there's barely any salmon on about 3 of the pieces. For our mains, we got the Tsunami and Spider Roll ($22/ea). Flavor on the Spider Roll was fantastic but the torch sear on the Tsunami was almost non-existent which you can zoom in and see on the photo. Also very avocado heavy on top, about 6 of the 9 bites on the photo were mainly avocado topped for a $22 roll. I'm not mad at the pricing since I know they have expenses and all that to consider but just looking for justification on the price of their food since I think it's under par, but that's just my personal opinion. Overall, the service is great, the environment is great, the wine was great, but food has been consistently underwhelming. I'm sure I'll be back in the future if some friends want to go out of convenience but definitely would consider other options before coming back here. read more

This establishment USED to have really good Sushi, the rice is a hit or miss the as well as the sushi, it has become subpar at best. Not my favorite sushi place, but it'll do. My dad and I came here while on our Napa trip. He had come once with some other family members and mentioned that it was good. We started with the miso soup which was pretty standard. I will say I wish they used soft or silken tofu as the tofu they used was firm and not my preferred texture with miso soup. We also ordered the seasoned edamame which I don't really recommend. It kind of just tasted like that thai sweet and spicy chili sauce was just drenched on it. Not the best. After a long day of wine tastings, we decided to opt for having Eiko's in the Oxbow Market. My boyfriend and I split the sashimi combo for dinner. These cuts were so thick and so succulent, I was in love. Seating is quite limited and our group of six was initially split up until a few other parties left. I wasn't expecting such authentic sushi in Napa Valley, but I'm glad that we stumbled across it after the day we had. Stop by this place to eat because we are over across from the lab store creating our custom lipsticks. The restaurant was decorated really nicely has a lot of big open space big restaurant hats. Lots of seating service was great. We were able to be served right away upon arriving, we were given menus, the food overall was very good. I like the spicy edamame. It has scallops on the inside and is lightly fried in tempura from the outside. It gives it a nice crispy nori shell. On top is tobiko, spicy aioli and sriracha. Was going to a show at the Blue Note so made reservations here for myself and two others. Was seated right away and liked the decor/ambiance, modern upscale, appropriate for Napa lol. Anyway, cocktails were good and ordered a bunch of stuff off the happy hour menu and regular menu to share. Really liked the tempura green beans, nice and crispy. California roll and poke roll both fresh and tasty. Oysters were good, not quite great but not complaining. Seaweed salad was solid. The kaizen ribs were nice and meaty but the sauce was a little too salty for me. Pot stickers good too. I don't think I saw one asian person working there but the food was mostly authentically prepared. The waitstaff, however, should at least know how to pronounce menu items correctly. I'm sad I didn't trust my instincts of not eating Asian food in Napa unless it's like Morimotos. The place looks nicely decorated but the food was not good. I made a reservation for 2 at 7pm on a Friday night. It was a particularly busy evening as the lighted art festival was taking place throughout Napa. We were initially seated in one of the cubby style areas and felt quite isolated. It was also near the server prep station. We are not one to typically request a seat change, but we were dining out for a special occasion (please get rid of or make those frosted cubby inserts optional!!!). Our server kindly relocated us to the bar until a spot opened up in the lounge area behind us. This was a night/day experience and worth waiting for a more comfortable seat to open up. Our bartender/server was fantastic. He checked on us regularly and replenished our sake as needed. We ordered five different pieces of nigiri, all which were fresh and so delicious - I personally loved the fatty tuna the most! Rolls ordered: lion roll, Ricky Ricardo, and spider roll. Each one was expertly crafted and wonderful. It's hard to pick a favorite because we loved them all. The lion roll had a Smokey flavor that was very pronounced - I think this was my favorite roll by a slim margin. I will gladly be back and not just for a special occasion. Normally I love coming here for sushi, I've been a loyal customer for almost 8 years but recently things have changed. First of all, eikos oxbow closed, which was my favorite compared to the restaurant. They had the best chefs and servers, but since closing it has felt like the restaurant has not dealt well with the change. Today I went in with my sisters and daughter, everything was going well until they brought out the wrong item for my sister where everything went down hill. We clearly ordered a spicy tuna HAND ROLL, but we received a regular spicy tuna cut roll instead. We nicely addressed it to the food runner and he immediately helped us out. Our appetizer came out last with our bento box. Although we didn't mind the wait, as soon as we received our food we noticed that we didn't receive a shrimp bento box, instead it was a vegetable bento box. Of course we did not make it into a big deal, as it would be as delicious, but when I went to address these problems to the server (Deja) so they could be fixed accordingly on our tab, she assured me that it would take a while because she was busy. I want to start off by saying I did not address this problem in a rude manner, I've worked in a restaurant before and I understand being overwhelmed, but the restaurant was not full compared to what I've seen in the past. I believe there was two tables seated next to us, two behind and a few people at the bar. Once she "fixed" the problem she adjusted the bento box price since the vegetable bento box was cheaper and then we noticed that she add $5 to the spicy tuna roll because according to her a hand roll is more expensive then a regular cut roll. So our price went for $17 to $22 for a HAND ROLL. I want to start off by saying right away that a HAND ROLL is not more expensive. She stated that it's more expensive because it has to be rolled. But we had ordered two spicy hamachi HAND ROLLS and they were $16 dollars each. Not to mention on the menu there is a hand roll that has TUNA and AVOCADO, and it's $15. So for her to up charge us on a hand roll, was wrong. She could have addressed this supposed change in price when we first ordered but did not. Nor did she say that hand rolls were not possible when we first ordered them (we have ordered them in the past). She was completely unprofessional. The bussers and food runners were more attentive than she was. We have had better experiences in the past with other servers like Brigit. She is amazing.
