I can't believe I've never eaten here before and maybe as it's easy to drive by this pace on Silverado Trail and not really see the whole restaurant! But I am very glad I did stop to eat and was very pleasantly surprised as it was an overall great experience. There is indoor and outdoor seating and very colorful and clean seating with a festive atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and helpful as the menu was large and had a lot of unique offerings. I had two street-sized tacos , a shredded chicken taco, and a Al Pastor taco which came with some delicious tomatillo sauce and on the side a small salad like offering of pickled carrots and cabbage. My friend had the ceviche and both meals were well presented and prepared. My tacos were very tasty and the ceviche was flavorful and plentiful. The meal was good and the price was super reasonable, which is getting hard to find in Napa! I will definitely be back and hope the Big Ranch stays open for a long time! read more

While we ordered online, I had higher hopes after it was recommended by a couple people. I ordered the camarones a la diabla but the sauce wasnt a traditional sauce. This tasted like a regular spicy salsa (with lots of oregano) and they just added a chipotle to try and match the flavor. The other items were just alright. The guacamole needed salt and jalapeño to be spicy and with more flavor. May give them another chance if I'm in the area. read more

I was disappointed on door dash I couldn't add carne asada to my burrito but my burrito was okay I wish the peppers were cut a little smaller and I feel like it could have had more shrimp on it but it wasn't bad. The carne asada taco was okay same with the enchilada. I did really like the spicy salsa the mild salsa was pretty good too. I really hate to have to write such a bad review, but I have to keep it real. The ladies were really nice but other than that and the Diet Coke being okay, nothing else was. I went here to try the chicken soup that is on their website. When I got to the restaurant, that soup was not on the menu. I said, cool, I'll compare the huevos rancheros here to my favorite Napa spot, Hacienda. Boy was that a mistake. I ordered the huevos rancheros with whole beans. The dish arrived with refried beans. The rancheros sauce tasted store bought and was not good at all. The salad was bland and boring, the guacamole tasted like the one at Taco Bell. It was just bad. I ate more than I should have so now I have calories remorse for wasting my caloric intake on such a horrible dish. The decor is very colorful and festive. I looked at the website again and saw they have a ton of locations around the US. Unfortunately, when you hit menu, the Detroit menu is the one that displays. Hard to know unless you know to look. The Napa menu is not on the webpage. I can now check this place off of my list of tries. read more

I love the chicken they do here, in particular the chicken enchiladas! The chicken was tender and juicy, packed with spices and flavor, topped off with goey melted cheese and a rich mole sauce. I'm still dreaming of it hours later. We showed up with a large group and our server did a great job taking orders and serving 25 people. The chips were crunchy and freshly fried. The salsas had a little kick to them, but also tons of flavor. I had a crunchy taco as well, which was greasy, yet delicious. My wife tried the beef on a tostada which she said was good, but didn't compare with the chicken. The presentation of all the food was bright, beautifully plated, and very satisfying. Today was the start of a heatwave. The enchiladas were great but the enchiladas de res could use carne asada instead. Tried this place for the first time today at lunch with some of my coworkers. Honestly, I really liked it. Really nice outdoor seating patio. The tables and chairs are beautiful. Service was really fast. Our waiter and waitress really nice and brought extra chips and salsa and grab extra salsa when requested. For starters we were Blown away by the attentiveness and kindness of the waitress may 26 out in the patio around noon! Our drinks were always full, the chips and salsa endlessly flowing. The menu is very large and I had a hard time deciding but I ended up choosing Chile verde bc I've been searching for a particular flavor and wow wow wow this plate did not disappoint! The sauce was so tangy and bright. The meat ever so tender and well marinated. I had to eat slower so I wouldn't woof it down so fast! Another good Mexican option in Napa! I love Mexican food! Every chance I get I give a new eatery a shot. El Rancho Grande was such experience and it turned out to be a hit! They have outdoor seating which is a plus most of the time in Napa and they allow dogs in case you wonder. I did what I do so often when I am starving and ordered the carnitas plate. It was very good. the carnitas was cooked just right and the refried beans were very tasty. The Enchiladas where also tasty. Solid authentic Mexican food in the Napa valley. Tried the burrito with asada (beef) which was well done, flavorful meat without too much fat, and good portion size. Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance is not much to speak of. Prices are a little on the higher side, but it's Napa. My parents were visiting from out of town and they wanted some Mexican food, since they live in Montana, that's one thing they don't have in their little town or even in the next city over. I have a couple of go to spots and El Rancho Grande is one of them. We like the option that we can eat outside in their patio. They have an inside dining but the weather was nice and because of recent events we wanted to enjoy the fresh air. We got there fairly early right after my kids got out if school (around 3:30 ish) there was a few other people there, but mainly a lot of to go orders. With that said, the server was pretty on top of things with bringing the menu's, the drinks, appetizers. I've noticed with other places the service has slowed down because of lack of help, but I felt everything came out in a timely manner. It was a total of 5 of us, so 3 of had the same thing (Chicken Enchiladas) and the other 2 had burritos. I really liked their Enchiladas with red sauce. It was pretty Flavorful. It wasn't spicy, and the reason I say that, is because I'm not into spicy stuff (I can handle a decent amount of heat, but it's just not my thing) my stepmom ordered the green sauce and it was too spicy for her. I tried it, and it had a heat that would sneak up on you. However, not over powering. The burrito was pretty big size, and even my teenage son (who can eat) was stuffed. The chips and salsa were good. One mild and one spicier. I also feel that the price is pretty fair and on par with affordable dining. This place is awesome. We came here for breakfast on a Saturday. They had a wide array of wonderful egg dishes, plus fantastic homemade tortillas. I had the migas and they were just perfect. I loved sitting outside, with ample shade. It wasn't too hot, even in late August. Our server kept our drinks refilled, kept the chips coming, and our food was out quickly. Everything was fresh, not greasy, and perfectly prepared. This little spot is authentic, delicious, and very unassuming, which I appreciate. Stopped here after a wine club tasting and pickup after passing it on the way. One woman was serving the entire place for a fairly busy lunch crowd and she was stellar. She had the tables down to a science. Food was excellent and and plentiful. It's a pretty small indoor area with lots of outdoor and semi-outdoor seating. The bathroom is a closet type setup outside of the restaurant but 100% one of the cleanest restaurants restrooms I've ever been in (at like 1 pm no less). Would absolutely go again. read more

Menudo was delicious and full of flavor, you can taste the garlic and onion in the broth. They didn't have hominy and I didn't really miss it. Their red enchiladas were also delicious flavor was good and it had a hint of a mole taste to it. The green chicken enchiladas were flavorful and had a bit of a kick to them. Their Chilli relleno had a good flavor too! Their ranchero sauce was red and had blended onion and peppers in it. Very delicious. Chefs kiss! So if your in Napa, make it a point to stop and eat here. I used to live up the street from this restaurant and for almost TEN YEARS ate here weekly, and knew some of the staff. We enjoyed karaoke night on Sundays and loved hanging out on the patio. Last night I joined a group of friends for dinner - excited to visit. The staff progressed to wash the floors with a chemical cleaner - INSIDE and OUTSIDE the restaurant WHILE we were inside, all windows and doors shut while we ate and enjoyed our meal. The worse thing is - I AM ALLERGIC to heavy cleaners and now I am dealing with a chemical burning sensation of my throat and lungs - products like Fabuloso and Simple Green can put me into the hospital if used with strong concentration and not diluted. I woke up this morning feeling sick, thought I was catching a cold until I drove by the restaurant on my way to work and remembered the STRONG aromas - soapy outside patio floors, coughing at dinner and the strong sensation of my throat burning and sick to my stomach feeling. I will recover, I am not in the hospital. But, as a family local restaurant - you should NOT wash floors with heavy cleaners inside or outside until ALL YOUR GUESTS are done eating at least - or better yet - have left for the night. Even if you want to get home early! Plus, a restaurant should smell like delicious food - NOT HEAVY CLEANERS!!!!! I will NOT be eating here again. The team here obviously does NOT care about their customers. update 6 days later - confirmed by my Doctor and toxicology = I was poisoned by the high concentration of floor cleaner they were using. By Wednesday afternoon - less than 24 hours later - I was vomiting heavily for the next 12 hours and violently sick for 4 days. read more
