This place is one of Napa's oldest buildings and the lines get long from previous reviews that I have seen. I went here for a pre-birthday celebration for my older sister with our younger sister and this place was spectacular. How it works, you order when you get to the front cashier as the line moves. And if you forget to order something, don't worry cause they'll allow you to keep the tab open. Also, they said not to go back in line to order again since the kitchen is pretty small. Came here for brunch since I woke up early and drove to napa for coffee and pastries. It was the perfect timing. Right before 830am there wasn't a line but 5 people ahead of me. Once I got in line then everyone started coming. It was a line out the door. But it does move quick if there are empty tables. . You line up to order the food and then purchase. Then you go find a table to sit down. Since lots of empty table the line goes quick. . They bring the food to you since you will get a number after ordering. While getting to the cash register. The pastry case is next to it. They have churro croissant and churro cronut. I was overwhelmed with all the choices. The pastries didnt wow me as well. . It was a memorable experience and a unique menu with options. However the food didn't wow me. The churro French toast was good. It is different for sure. The egg Benny with Verde was just ok. First I will say don't go into the expectations of being the greatest brunch spot ever because I feel that really ruined it for me. I over ordered because getting a good parking spot here is a headache at the wrong time and I don't come to the area very often anymore. Everything was just good, above average and that would be fine if I didn't get hyped up with all the social media influence. What a great spot! Parking is a bit tough (small lot) but everything else was great! We popped in with our dog and they have a lovely outdoor area. Staff was super friendly. Googled this spot and the reviews had me like "winning" so I stopped scrolling. Grabbed a Lyft, and when we pulled up I was relieved to see no line. Walked in with zero clue what I was doing and just told the lady, "I have no idea how this works." She was nice about it, handed me a menu, and told me to come back up when I was ready. So I did what any nosy person does and looked at what everyone around me was eating before I went back up with my questions. I went with the Chilaquiles with green sauce and added avocado. Came with corn tortillas, refried beans, cilantro, cotija, sour cream, onion garnish, and salsa on the side and I got scrambled eggs with it. The eggs were light and fluffy and everything worked together. I also got the "La Llorona" Black Margarita and it was so good I nearly ordered another one but I was not about to look that thirsty at 9:00 in the morning, so I kept it to one. Finished it off with a little guava pastry and no regrets. The food and drinks did not miss. The whole place is in this old rustic building, and it just fits the vibe perfectly. Visited La Cheve on an impromptu trip to Napa and it was definitely worth the stop. The line was pretty long, we waited about an hour... but they do a nice job of taking care of people while you wait. They provide umbrellas for shade and also have water stations set up, which was really appreciated. The food was excellent. I had the chilaquiles with carne asada and red sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was flavorful and super satisfying. The pastries are also a must-try, especially the choco flan concha. It was such a fun and unique treat and definitely something you shouldn't skip if you visit. The only downside was the bathrooms. They weren't the cleanest and had a noticeable smell, particularly the stall on the left side. I finally got to try this place! Cute restaurant with a great vibe. Came here with my daughters for brunch. The food was really good. Their pastries were good. Not overly sweet with creative flavors! The salsa was amazing! They had two options and provided me with both and they were both 10/10. The biscuits were baked perfectly, warm and soft! I finally got the chance to try La Cheve which had been highly recommended to me for a while now, with a group of 5 on a Sunday morning. We arrived around 9am, and there was only a short line - we probably ordered and were seated by around 9:20. By the time we left at 11am, the line was around the building and not moving. The inside is cozy, a little cramped, and there was a fly that kept lingering around our table - which was the second largest one inside and barely sat all of us. We got many things to share: the ceviche, flan french toast, chilaquiles, chili verde benedict, and the mulita. The ceviche, and mulita were very good, and we were surprised by how well the flan texture worked with the french toast, and that it wasn't too heavy or sweet. While the chilaquiles and chili verde benedict were also good, they didn't stand out as much and it felt like they were both lacking something - do note the chili verde is a little spicy, in case you cant tolerate spice. We also got a few different hot and cold coffee drinks from the menu to try, and they were all also very tasty :) Last but not least, we wanted to try some of the pastries, which you order in the beginning, and they hold in a box for you to pickup at the outside window when you leave - we did have to line up and wait for another 15 minutes to grab out pastries on the way out. We got the guava concha, blackberry lemon danish, nutella croissant, and guava danish. All of the pastries were okay - we felt the croissant/danish pastries weren't the best, and that though we liked the flavors, we wished there was more of the flavor (i.e. guava, nutella, blackberry/lemon components) included, rather than the whipped cream/cream cheese/bread. We did feel that the concha itself was excellent, and would come again to get conchas - the guava concha would have been perfect if there was more guava and less whipped cream in our opinion. Overall, La Cheve was very affordable for the serving sizes, and I would be back for the ceviche, flan french toast, coffee and the conchas as long as I can get up early enough to avoid the line! read more

You will not beat the ambiance of this place- the oldest building in Napa and every piece of decor and dining ware adds a unique touch. The food was delicious- we got the chilaquiles- 4 plates in fact. One went with the spicy green salsa and the rest of us went with the red. It was so delicious. This was our first visit to La Chevre in Napa and it is officially our new breakfast spot. Great place to take folks visiting from out of town because it is in the oldest building in Napa, CA --1845! They have parking and an additional lot. The music blended in perfectly and never pulled us out of our conversation while dining. Walk around and you will see how big it is with indoor and outdoor seating. ORDERING -You order at the counter, which confused us at first but once you see how busy it becomes, that makes sense. There is a seperate area to order take-out and pastries. Service is good because they work as a team. We felt well taken care of while there. There is a large water decanter to self fill glasses. FOOD & DRINK -We all had the Bloody Maria and it was as festive as it was tasty. Coffee was good and hot. I had the Mexican Scramble and cleaned my plate. Their chorizo is pretty mild. I keep coming back. Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots! Pretty busy during the weekends. You order at the counter and then you are seated. There's plenty of outside seating and some seating inside where it's definitely cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive. This last time I went we had: Chile Verde Benedicto which never fails. The Chile verde with pork is authentic and it gives the ordinary eggs Benedict a delicious twist. The rancho potatoes also pairs well with them and have always been crisped to perfection. For pastries we enjoyed the Flan French Toast (only available on weekends), a concha, and other churro inspired pastries. All were fresh and fluffy. Our favorite was definitely the flan French toast for its rich flavor. We didn't know what to expect but it's definitely a shareable dessert. We weren't big fans of the drinks and this happens to me every time I go after I try something different. The cafe de olla was too watered down and was missing the spices that's supposed to make the cafe de olla. The hot chocolate de mama has too much of a cinnamon flavor which took away from the chocolate. The aguas frescas are too sugary in our opinion as well. This place is amazing!!! But to have the 5 star experience you must be prepared for what you're signing up for. A long wait. An 'order at the window and take a number' establishment. Some of the best food I've ever experienced. There is a beautiful woman with a very soothing voice who will put on a headset mic and provide you with information and options. After standing in line for approx 30 min she arrived and told us it would be at least an hour additional waiting time. Based on how slowly the line moved I believe the full wait time may be close to 2 hours. So, we opted to get out of line and order food 'to go'. There is an order window on the other side of the building. You can order anything there! Drinks, pastries, all of the yummy meals. There is a very small seating area as well, but literally no one was over there so we stayed and ate in the 'pick up' tables. This was a Sunday at approx 0930. I did use the restroom inside and it's a very cute place, but very small. They also have a lovely patio area, which is larger than inside, but also, very small. The. Food. Spectacular, top notch, so delicious. I ordered chile verde benedicto and husband had chorizo burrito. House made chorizo, house made English muffin....to die for. My potatoes were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I was served pickled veg on top and I cannot tell you how happy this made me and then I tasted them, perfection again. We walked here about 30 min or I would have ordered some 'made in house' pastries, which must also be amazing. And the drinks looked spectacular as well. I think they served me the best chilaquiles of my life! It was the perfect blend of flavors. I added chorizo which really paired nicely with the dish and there was a decent amount of eggs so it felt substantial. ( I have had chilaquiles in the past with way too many chips but this was the perfect balance) There was a line when we arrived on a weekday morning but it moved relatively fast . We maybe waited 15 minutes or so. You order at the counter and we got our food about 10 minutes later so not too long of a wait. There is a sign on the building that says that it is the oldest building in Napa. It is visibly a very old building with lots and LOTS of character. We fell in love with this restaurant from the moment we arrived! We had read it was in one of the oldest buildings in Napa so that was very interesting and what a beautiful restaurant it was, traditional old adobe building so lots of character. In the immediate we ordered a coffee to go and the person I was traveling with suggested taking a pastry back to my sister because it was her birthday. As you walk in the restaurant there is a beautiful display at pastries! Hard to pass up , a twist on traditional Mexican bread. Conchas filled with arroz con leche, a variety of cream filled pastries with fresh strawberries on top, etc.... We mentioned to the woman it was for my sister who was celebrating her birthday that day, we were so excited to see, when we opened the pastry box to present it to my sister, that they had included a small "happy birthday" sign along with a candle!! Who does that?! Someone thoughtful and anticipating the needs of their customers, that is who. So of course we went back immediately for a sit down breakfast and the food and customer service was excellent. More spacious than anticipated because they've added covered outdoor seating (with heat lamps) . Our food came quickly once ordered, they were very accommodating when we mentioned we were splitting a meal. They served it on two separate plates, so nice. They have a full bar and when we ordered our breakfast they offered a complimentary mimosa for the birthday girl, yes, please. My sister had a mushroom omelette which she raved about, portions were large enough that she took half to go. I had my beloved chiliquiles (they have spicy and not spicy) . They were delicious, savory, I got the ones that were not spicy and it comes with an egg made to order, it was a beautiful presentation. You stand in line to order and once you order they take you to a table, the line moved quickly. Ample parking, we stayed at the Tapestry hotel which is very close, very easy to get to. This restaurant is on the north side of Napa and we highly recommend you stop in. Open 7-3pm. First impression pulling up to La Cheve is like stepping back in time to the old west. We were warmly welcome by the staff who walk us through the menu and give us some recommendations on what to order. Coming on a Monday morning there wasn't much of a line at all! To start I had the mocha, which wasn't super sweet but was a good blend of coffee and hot chocolate to help kick off the morning. I had the huevos rancheros which were an amazing blend of flavors one crispy tortilla had Salsa Verde and the other had a habanero salsa. The Salsa Verde was amazing and had a little spice to it. The habanero huevos rancheros had a nice smoke that you would expect from the peppers that blended well with the combination of ingredients and sour cream on it. Found La Cheve while on the hunt for a good brunch place in the area. I visited on a Saturday morning with my party of 9 for my birthday brunch. We arrived just before 10am and waited less than 30 minutes to order our food and be seated. Upon arriving, they have a small parking lot but because they are a fast casual restaurant, people are coming and leaving so it didn't take too long to find a parking spot. While in line, they have their menu available for you to look over while you wait. One of the hosts came out to explain how everything works which made it nice since it was our first time visiting La Cheve. They were very organized & kind to serve even our large group. The vibe is very homey and authentic and all the food is made from scratch so your meal will always be fresh & delicious. Service was quick and efficient & everyone was very kind and professional. While it may be the oldest building in Napa, it didn't feel uncomfortable. They had 2 gender neutral restrooms that were well kept and clean. For longer waits, they encourage mobile ordering your drinks and pastries. They have a great selection of beers and cocktails. All the food we ordered was great. I shared the asada & eggs, flan French toast with my sister & it was delicious. The asada was sliced beef with potatoes, peppers, onions and cheese topped with eggs of your choice. It also came with a side of jalapeno & cheese biscuits that were perfectly moist and had just a mild spice to it. The flan French toast was my favorite. It had the caramelized sugar and custard texture that reminded me of a bread pudding. It wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. My dad and my husband ordered the special of the day which was enchiladas de al pastor & let's just say they cleared their plates it was that good. LA CHEVE BAKERY AND BREWS is the oldest building in Napa Valley!! If only we had more time, we'd stay in line and wait to be seated in the main dining areas. BUT, we were informed early on that there is also a To-Go window/door with first-come, first-served seating options. Albeit a few tables, it saved us about an hour, which worked out best for our road trip plans! I placed my order online at ilovelacheve.com and our order was ready at the to-go window in 20 minutes. We lucked out and scored a seat at the community picnic table. Everything we ordered was SO GOOD!! Drinks came out first and the El Berto Palmero (Lemonade + Jamaica) was very refreshing while we waited under the sun. Even better with the Guacamole & Chips!! I need more of this!!! The Burrito De Chorizo tasted better than I imagined only because I rarely eat meat. But, this was certainly a winner. Made with chorizo, scrambled egg, Rancho potatoes, mozzarella cheese, cilantro, and salsa & sour cream on the side. My +1 and I split it and it was more than enough. I would recommend!! I am already looking forward to a return visit to try other items on the menu like weekend-only items and pastries. A small parking lot is available, but we found more parking alongside the road in a dirt lot. Service was super friendly and efficient. You know when you have a place on your list and you can't wait to check it off in hopes that it fulfills the spot. Well that is La Cheve located in the oldest building in Napa. I wish I could visit them every week! When you walk up grab a menu before heading in once at the counter you can place your order, they give you a number and find a spot to sit. Food did not take long to come out and was packed full of flavor and decent portion sizes. read more

Keeping it real for my Yelp fam--this spot was all hype, long wait, and a letdown. Let's start with the wait: over an hour, and not because they're packed. They deliberately let in one party at a time, even though we saw at least 20 empty tables inside. It's a crowd-control tactic to make the place look busier from the outside, but it feels unnecessary and frustrating. Food? Disappointing.    *   Concha French Toast - This was one of their specials, but it was small, thin, dry, and honestly... flavorless.    *   Chili Verde Benedictos - Just okay. The English muffins were so hard it was a struggle to cut through with a butter knife.    *   Cinnamon Donut Holes - Dry and bland, not worth the carbs.    *   Drinks - Way too sweet for my taste. Service? Meh. Even after you've paid, they still assign where you sit. Not open seating, which is weird for a casual brunch place. A friend of mine wanted to sit on the patio at a 4-top, which matched our group size, but the server kept hassling her about it while we were ordering. Totally unnecessary and made the experience feel more tense than welcoming. Final thoughts: I've had much better brunch experiences in Napa. In Napa? Go here, just do it... you won't regret this one, unless of course, you don't like awesome Mexican food. The line was a little long, but they cook as you order 'fast casual', you order and they make it. The kitchen is pretty small and this is how they keep it from getting overwhelmed. Just a tip, while you're in line you can order drinks (non-alcoholic afaik) and pastries, we ordered an 'concha con arroz con leche' and a cafe de olla... they were spectacular. There is a lot of seating inside and outside, the building was one of the original buildings in Napa, very cool historical and tasty spot to eat. read more
