French toast and cinnamon concha roll was not that tasty. Chilaquiles and coffee was pretty good however.

First I will say don't go into the expectations of being the greatest brunch spot ever because I feel that really ruined it for me. I over ordered because getting a good parking spot here is a headache at the wrong time and I don't come to the area very often anymore. Everything was just good, above average and that would be fine if I didn't get hyped up with all the social media influence. Cute restaurant and fantastic experience for sure gives it a few stars, while we were waiting in line a lady came out and gave a quick history run down on the building and restaurant which was interesting and fun to listen to.

4/3/26 FYI. Todays options.

Quality/Quantity - Wow, what an amazing discovery! Fairly simple menu done well. I ordered the best and most amazing dish! Mulita de Chorizo - See their menu for a description. All I can say is it was delicious! Burrito Con Salsa - My daughter's boring order. Good, but she was jealous of my order. Chilaquiles - My wife's order which was again good, but she was also jealous of my order. Good thing I like to share. :) My wife ordered a guava conchas to go and I was worried that it would be dry, especially the next day. But I was so wrong! It was so good! Still moist and flavorful. And of course, I had to try both their own craft beers. Ambiance - Crazy busy, but we got lucky and went for a later lunch (1pm) as the rush was ending. Interesting and cool decor; see pictures. Indoor and outdoor seating. On this perfect sunny Napa day; it was perfect outdoor seating. Well more shade would have been nice, but I was too lazy to roll over and open an umbrella. Small parking lot, especially for such a popular place. Free wifi, did not use it. Two clean unisex restrooms. Events; see their website Live music; see their website. Open 5 days a week from 7:30am to 3pm; closed Tuesday & Wednesday. Service - Counter service. Then I tried to add more beer to my order but it was very hard to flag down employees. They were catering to the larger tables. Price - $72 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020.

What a great spot! Parking is a bit tough (small lot) but everything else was great! We popped in with our dog and they have a lovely outdoor area. Staff was super friendly. My tacos were fantastic and my husband devoured Huevos Rancheros. Was one of the best meals we had on our vacation. Will definitely be back when we're back in town!

Googled this spot and the reviews had me like "winning" so I stopped scrolling. Grabbed a Lyft, and when we pulled up I was relieved to see no line. Walked in with zero clue what I was doing and just told the lady, "I have no idea how this works." She was nice about it, handed me a menu, and told me to come back up when I was ready. So I did what any nosy person does and looked at what everyone around me was eating before I went back up with my questions. I went with the Chilaquiles with green sauce and added avocado. Came with corn tortillas, refried beans, cilantro, cotija, sour cream, onion garnish, and salsa on the side and I got scrambled eggs with it. The eggs were light and fluffy and everything worked together. I also got the "La Llorona" Black Margarita and it was so good I nearly ordered another one but I was not about to look that thirsty at 9:00 in the morning, so I kept it to one. Finished it off with a little guava pastry and no regrets. The food and drinks did not miss. The whole place is in this old rustic building, and it just fits the vibe perfectly. You walk up, order, grab a number, and they bring everything to you. By 9:45, a line had formed, and people kept coming in. I had a great time, and I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Check it out, y'all.

Come here for the atmosphere. Amazing little place full of character and the warm and cozies. We had: Flan French toast - Only available on Fri, Sat, and Sun. Like eating cake for breakfast, too sweet for me. Carne asada eggs - Mountain of deliciousness. Properly spicy. The jalapeno biscuits were terrific. Coffee - Ok

Visited La Cheve on an impromptu trip to Napa and it was definitely worth the stop. The line was pretty long, we waited about an hour... but they do a nice job of taking care of people while you wait. They provide umbrellas for shade and also have water stations set up, which was really appreciated. The food was excellent. I had the chilaquiles with carne asada and red sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was flavorful and super satisfying. The pastries are also a must-try, especially the choco flan concha. It was such a fun and unique treat and definitely something you shouldn't skip if you visit. The only downside was the bathrooms. They weren't the cleanest and had a noticeable smell, particularly the stall on the left side. Overall though, a great spot with really good food and definitely worth the wait if you're in Napa.

I finally got to try this place! Cute restaurant with a great vibe. Came here with my daughters for brunch. The food was really good. Their pastries were good. Not overly sweet with creative flavors! They have some seating inside and more outside. They do have a to go window on the outside of the restaurant so you don't have to go inside. Staff were friendly. Good service. Parking is a bit of a challenge. So planning the right time to go would be helpful for you. Four stars only because of the parking. Definitely try this place!

Chile verde Benedict

Wow! Had an amazing breakfast/brunch here. On our way out of Napa we stopped here for breakfast and sooo glad we did. Food was amazing, vibe super cool and service amazing. Ordered Chile Verde Benedict. Was hesitant as I thought it might be too much, but I have to say it was the best chile verde I've ever had and it was perfectly balance as eggs Benedict. Hubby had Mexican breakfast and was equally impressed. Also ordered a cafe con leche to go for the drive home and thoroughly enjoyed it! Hubby ordered churro cronut for a later day treat and it was also delicious! Shout out to to the owner or manager (not sure) but she was making sure everyone was well taken care of and had everything we wanted! Realizing it is only a 30 minute drive from Martinez made us add this to our return list!

If you're in the area and are looking for some amazing food this place is highly recommended. The asada and eggs were so delicious, perfectly cooked and came with salsa on the side. The salsa was amazing! They had two options and provided me with both and they were both 10/10. The biscuits were baked perfectly, warm and soft! The chilaquiles were 10/10 the flavor was perfect, the tortillas were perfectly crunchy. The beans were amazing! The breakfast sandwich was delicious as well. I did get a chance to try the Oreo cheese cake and it was so amazing, so amazing I forgot to get a picture. I recommend checking out the desserts and you can take some to go. The service was amazing as well. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table however it came out quickly and warm. They were helpful with any questions or accommodations you may need. The whole place itself is perfectly decorated and they do have outdoor seating as well.

Ceviche
Linda C.

Fun brunch with friends. The mulita was the best food item - nice warm and savory. Flan French toast was just okay, kind of bland and the texture felt a little rubbery. That being said, the pastries were a pretty big miss for us. The cream cheese pastry had a giant glob of cold cream cheese in the center. The guava concha had minimal guava and mostly cream. And the croissant was dense. But the coffee was the best. The cafe de olla is deliciously citrusy, would get again.

I finally got the chance to try La Cheve which had been highly recommended to me for a while now, with a group of 5 on a Sunday morning. We arrived around 9am, and there was only a short line - we probably ordered and were seated by around 9:20. By the time we left at 11am, the line was around the building and not moving. The inside is cozy, a little cramped, and there was a fly that kept lingering around our table - which was the second largest one inside and barely sat all of us. We got many things to share: the ceviche, flan french toast, chilaquiles, chili verde benedict, and the mulita. The ceviche, and mulita were very good, and we were surprised by how well the flan texture worked with the french toast, and that it wasn't too heavy or sweet. While the chilaquiles and chili verde benedict were also good, they didn't stand out as much and it felt like they were both lacking something - do note the chili verde is a little spicy, in case you cant tolerate spice. We also got a few different hot and cold coffee drinks from the menu to try, and they were all also very tasty :) Last but not least, we wanted to try some of the pastries, which you order in the beginning, and they hold in a box for you to pickup at the outside window when you leave - we did have to line up and wait for another 15 minutes to grab out pastries on the way out. We got the guava concha, blackberry lemon danish, nutella croissant, and guava danish. All of the pastries were okay - we felt the croissant/danish pastries weren't the best, and that though we liked the flavors, we wished there was more of the flavor (i.e. guava, nutella, blackberry/lemon components) included, rather than the whipped cream/cream cheese/bread. We did feel that the concha itself was excellent, and would come again to get conchas - the guava concha would have been perfect if there was more guava and less whipped cream in our opinion. Overall, La Cheve was very affordable for the serving sizes, and I would be back for the ceviche, flan french toast, coffee and the conchas as long as I can get up early enough to avoid the line!

Esmeralda R.

Good food and nice staff. Because it is so small though the line wraps all the way around the building, the parking is terrible and the wait time is long. A hack is to just order from the back for Togo. Or show up early prepared to wait. The coffee is a must get if you do go.

The cutest place for brunch. Food was excellent and staff were so welcome, helpful, and nice. On the fence about the Mexican coffee and they offered a delicious sample before we added it to our meal.

How long is the wait on a Monday around 9 AM?

We were there on a Monday and waited to place order about 30 mins. Line goes by pretty fast

We tried to go but the line was out the door so we left. When is the best time to go ? We would really like to go but we are not willing to wait more than 30 minutes with a 5 yr old. It sucks this happens every time a restaurant goes viral .

We went early Thursday morning before 11 anm.

Is there outdoor sitting? And dog friendly

YES! We sit outside with our 2 poodles. They sell doggie treats too!

Noticed how in some post you have live music? Is that available ? And when?

They try to do events every month so keep an eye out for social media to see when they post those events

Do we need reservations ahead of time or is it first come first serve?

No. It is first come, first serve. You actually prepay for your food at the register and then they bring it to your table.

Roughly how long is the wait on a Sunday? Trying to plan out time for wine tastings after brunch.

30-40 mins

Are they Kid friendly?

They are very kid friendly. They have a kids menu, high chairs and I’ve seen other families with kids eating here. We have brought our 4 yr and 1 yr old and we have had a great experience.

As soon as we approached the venue, there was a long line of people waiting to get inside. We arrived a bit later (around 8pm), and the crowd had already started to fill the venue. Mind you, it's a decent sized venue but not a massive space -- enough to accommodate at minimum 100 and likely max of 200 while still staying within code. There were several people coming in and out of the door, where the GM and bouncer for the night , appeared extremely stressed due to the amount of people in line and inside. A woman, who happened to be the wife of the DJ, stepped out to make a phone call and when she attempted to get back inside, proceeded to get yelled at by the bouncer saying she needed to go to the back of the line and wait like everyone else. The woman attempted to tell the bouncer her husband, who was the guest DJ for the night and is a historical, world renowned DJ (again using big names to draw crowds, and appropriating vinyl culture, but not respecting the very people in attendance), needed to tell him she'd be outside and would sit in the car. The GM started to yell and disrespect the DJs wife, and she ended up staying outside. Apparently this GM and venue are not used to larger crowds, and she essentially cracked under pressure. She went on to tell us the capacity was 67, and that they "were already at 200", which is a lie because there was a ton of space between people inside the venue (we have photos to prove it). She kept yelling and pushing people back. Girlfriend, this was not a Vegas club night. This crowd is 40+ (age) crowd, so it's not like people were out of control and acting debaucherous -- everyone was respecting the rules. If you couldn't handle the crowd, which btw you agreed prior to the 80-100 people expected for the party, then why was it such a hassle for your venue to handle the capacity. You knew a larger crowd was expected that night, it's your responsibility as a business owner to adequately staff the bar, door, etc. Yes; we needed to respect the door and the rules -- and everyone did. I won't get into further detail, but a physical altercation took place after the woman tried to return a second time (to again get her husband and tell him what was going on given she was being harassed at the door), putting hands on her in the process. Just completely out of line. Overall, this venue wants to appropriate the music and DJ culture, yet when the actual music and DJ community show up, there is no respect. Let alone for loyal patrons who have frequented your business and brought tons of revenue to the bar that night (which btw was extremely slow). Don't fall for the dog and pony show here. Go somewhere else that touts respects for their patrons, and for all walks of life -- not just the pretentious kind.
