I wish I could give zero stars based solely on the customer service and overall experience I had with this establishment in the Napa location. I came in today to pick up a pie that I had ordered over the phone, and unfortunately, what should have been a simple pickup turned into an extremely disappointing experience. When I called to place my order, the person I spoke with told me the pie would be $35. However, when I arrived to pick it up, I was charged $45. My receipt clearly shows that I was charged $45 for a "Whole peach blackberry pie." I understand that prices can change or mistakes can happen, but if a customer is quoted one price when placing an order, any difference should at least be explained at pickup. To make matters worse is when I cut the pie, it was not the peach blackberry pie I had ordered. As shown in my second photo, what I received is an old fashioned Apple pie instead. So not only was I charged $10 more than the price I was quoted over the phone, I did not even receive the pie that I ordered and paid for. In addition, The person who was taking orders and working as the cashier was also extremely rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming. I initially did not catch her name, but according to my receipt, the server/cashier was Kelly F. For identification purposes, she was a younger woman with extensive tattoos. What makes this even more disappointing is that this is now the third time I have encountered this same employee, and each time I have experienced the same rude and unfriendly demeanor. After three separate encounters, it is difficult to simply chalk it up to someone having a bad day. There was no sense of friendliness, professionalism, or basic customer service during my interaction with her. Anyone working directly with customers should understand that the way customers are spoken to and treated reflects directly on the business. At this point, I genuinely feel that the business owner should consider assigning her to a position in the back where she does not have to interact directly with customers. If customer service is not her strength, having her at the front interacting with customers reflects poorly on the business and can leave people with a negative impression regardless of the quality of the food. Between being quoted $35, charged $45, receiving the wrong pie, and once again experiencing rude customer service, this entire experience was unacceptable. After three encounters with the same type of customer service, I finally felt it was necessary to leave a review. Management really needs to address this. It is actually their 2nd location as their original has been in the St. Helena area since the mid-1990's. They have been a favorite for locals and tourists and are known for so many deliciously delectable baked goods. I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Saturday 7/12/2025 at around 12:30pm. Since it was a beautiful and comfortable 73°F day, the entire area was packed with customers. Parking in this area can be very tricky (especially on weekends) so my recommendation would be to use the parking garage (about a 1/2 mile away) or by arriving via-rideshare or public transit. This also runs parallel to the very popular Napa Valley Wine Train as this is one of the major stops for customers to visit. Prior to entry, this place stands out with a classic green awning that represents the business name. Keep in mind that this place is tiny with only a maximum of 10 customers to comfortably fit inside. But once inside, you will soon be drawn to the amazing aroma of freshly baked breads, pastries, and everything in between. Here you will find a vast array of croissants, cookies, muffins, scones, lemon bars, and cakes. As for the breads, they have just about everything you could ever imagine; Focaccia, raisin bread, various baguettes, and so many more options that are available. Additionally, they carry a nice little assortment of coffees and teas (available in hot or iced). But wait, there's more! This place is also a small deli with select sandwiches that include BBQ Pulled Pork, Vegetarian, BLT, chicken, and Cubano as well as salads such as tuna, potato, and Caesar. For this place being as small as it is, their assortment was quite impressive. I've been back to Model Bakery at Oxbow a few times since my last review, and definitely make sure you come early on the weekend if you're hoping to get english muffins, or order ahead online to make sure you aren't faced with the sad news that they're sold out! Despite being busy as always, the line still moves quickly, and there is plenty of space at the outdoor picnic tables to wait for your order. The picnic tables do get pretty covered in crumbs, but nothing a napkin and a quick swipe can't fix - do be careful of the many birds lurking to grab a bite though. While my favorite is still the plain toasted english muffin with butter and apricot jam, I have also tried the chipotle muffin - which came on nicely toasted sourdough and not an english muffin (my fault for not reading more carefully); this was a hearty, tasty and great breakfast sandwich! The bacon was thick and not too chewy or burnt, and the chipotle sauce brought the tomato, egg and avocado together perfectly, though I'd love a bit more sauce. We also tried the honey butter cornmeal cookie which was amazing - not too sweet but full of honey and corn flavor with a fun chewy texture and mouthfeel.
