I had high hopes coming to the Thai Kitchen, the service was great but unfortunately the food was not worth it. We ordered the Thai Fried rice and the Chow Mein. The flavor wasn't there, the vegetables tasted canned and old, the Thai fried rice was spiced horribly and hardly fried. Love, love, love the food here! I've never had one bad thing... But the healthiest and least calories dish is probably their broccoli and chicken with oyster sauce and you can even have it with brown rice! A totally good weight watcher meal! My girlfriend absolutely loves their pad with shrimp. My friends in a nursing home recovering so we couldn't go to the restaurant but I got the dishes to go and we ate lunch in her room. It's been unseasonably cool lately, which tends to put me in the mood for something warm and a little spicy: thus, Thai! I was visiting my friend in Napa and this restaurant had the dual benefit of being close to her place and near Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, so we could get dinner and grocery shop all in one go. We got there right at 5pm when they begin serving dinner and there were already people there picking up or making to-go orders which seemed like a good sign. I'll cut to the chase: this is a no-frills restaurant with decent food--nothing spectacular. To begin, we ordered thai teas and a papaya salad to split as a starter, which was fresh, crunchy, and had a nice amount of heat. I felt the portion of the curries was fair, but the curry itself was a bit thin. It wasn't the best Thai curry I have ever had, but also not the worst. We finished off with a mango sticky rice that had a deliciously ripe mango, though the rice itself, while a little dry, wasn't too sweet and overall the portion was generous and definitely enough to share. Now for some areas of improvement: our white tablecloth was stained despite, again, being the first pair to sit down for dinner service (the restaurant closes between 3:30pm-5pm if I recall correctly from a sign) and there were ants on the wall next to our table and subsequently on the table itself. I have eaten at much, much grungier restaurants so really the hygiene was not all that bad. However, despite there being only 3 tables in total, it seemed like the owner/employee was eager for us to leave? Before we had finished eating our curries he came over to ask about boxes and gave us the check before we could order dessert! This was a Thursday night, so I worry what the service is like when they're really full on a weekend. Would I eat here again? Idk. There are other Thai places in Napa I would want to try first. Ordered pineapple fried rice and Tom kha gai for takeout . The pineapple fried rice had not a single piece of pineapple but had an array of other stuff but hardly any flavor. God I used to LOVE Thai kitchen because their food is simply the best!!!! However their customer service as of late is a JOKE! I literally called 6 times and their phone was off the hook so I went in (I'm 5 months pregnant and craving Thai food) So upon going in, it looks like the owners daughter was doing her homework and I had asked her if anyone was working the counter and she was rude and said "yeah.." So I waited and waited finally a man from the back wearing a mask comes out and I said hello? He's like yeah? And I said hi I've been trying to call to order and he Rudely said "WE BUSY! Can't you see we busy?!" I stood back because it was not good he yelled at me and there was little only 2 tables full....... No one else in the restaurant!!! I decided to take my business elsewhere... Thai kitchen is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL and I'm sorry but they have been so inconsistent lately If you truly knew how to run a busy restaurant, that is successful, you would be able to handle one customer and the 2 tables you had in house at the time. read more

The ambulances delightful and the service is fairly quick. Did you give you time to look over the menu and select from the mini delicacies that this restaurant offers. The ambiance is family style I am fairly quiet with nice music playing in the background the food that I ordered was delicious and delightful. The service is very polite and courteous. What a sweet little find. Located in a small strip mall on Trancas this unassuming spot is dishing out tasty Thai cookery all served with a welcoming smile. On a side note, this strip mall is surprisingly busy as at lunch time so parking can be a bit scarce, just be warned. Being new to Thai Kitchen I ordered a few different dishes to get a feel for the place. Please see below for the items I ordered along with some tasting notes. Thai Iced Tea: I loved on this tall glass of yum pretty hard, to the point of almost ordering a second one. Creamy and intensely flavored, this is a classic must have beverage. For some it might be too sweet, so order a glass of iced water so you may dilute to your liking. Stuffed Chicken Wings: really good. Making these is a laborious process of removing the meat and bones from the wing, all while not tearing the skin. The meat is mixed with glass noodles and other ingredients which are stuffed back into the wing, breaded and deep fried to perfection. My only wish is that they served sticky rice along side, Thai Kitchen doesn't offer sticky rice as an option. Thai BBQ Chicken: moist, juicy and flavorful. The dish came with a sweet and vinegary dipping sauce along with a steaming mound of fragrant rice. The sauce reminded me of Thai Original BBQ Restaurant in Las Vegas, so many delicious memories. Thai Kitchen does serve beer and wine so Im looking forward to having dinner there really soon. Sweet whites pair amazingly with spicy food, one of life's many little pleasures. This is one of the locations that if you are not familiar with the area, you can blink and missed the driveway... Like I did. A couple of U-turns later I found my way in. I ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken and tom kha. One thing I really liked about this place is that you have the option of ordering small sized soups, which I don't feel like it's very common on a to go menu at places I have been. While the fried rice had a great heat in the peppers, and some nice flavoring, I found the race itself to be a little overcooked/mushy. The soup was good too but I wish it had a little heat to it (I should have requested as such.) Service was quick and friendly, and he brought my order out to my car so that I wasn't standing out in the cold waiting. Realistically I'd say this is a solid 3.5 stars. I would be willing to go back and give them another shot... Mushy rice is not the end of the world and can easily be corrected. read more

Quickly: the best in Napa, good prices, consistently good food, get the pumpkin curry. Details: Napa doesn't have lots of affordable Thai options, but this is the best we do have (the other Thai places around here are a bit heavy with oil and inconsistent quality). But here they're consistent at getting our orders exactly right and the food is consistently good. Not outstanding, it's not as good as the SF or Easy Bay options (I miss Burma Superstar) , but for Napa its great and I wouldn't hesitate to order from here for my friends. Our favorite is their Pumpkin curry but the yellow curry is just as you would expect ("yummo!" according to our daughter). The staff are polite and helpful, I miss eating here in person but as COVID times take out they are just the best Thai in Napa. read more

We ordered the catfish, fried rice, pad Thai and spring rolls. The catfish was delicious as it had a good amount of spice without being overwhelming. The spring rolls were hot and perfectly crispy. And the pad Thai had the exact flavor that I love. Their rice was cooked so perfectly and I loved the texture. The food was out pretty quickly and the workers are nice. There is no dine in at this time due to COVID-19, but they did allow us to sit out front, as we are not from the area. It is required that you stay 6 feet apart when standing in line and a face mask is also required. Pricing is standard for Thai food and portion size was exactly what I expected.
