One of the 3 tiny pieces of chicken in my flavorless chicken chow mein.

I've given this place 3 chances and I should've stopped after the first. The most recent visit of mine, I ordered a chicken chow mein to go with no bean sprouts. What I received were bland noodles with a few (as in maybe 3) tiny little pieces of chicken. When I say little, think of the size of a bean. I kept thinking, maybe the next bite will reveal all the chicken hiding, but that never happened. It was so terrible all I could do was laugh.

The staffs were quite friendly. They were able to accommodate me as soon as i got in. I always wanna try this Chinese restaurant because my coworkers said its really good. I ordered the Vegetable Garden (which was suggested by the server) w/ rice and Wonton Soup. I also ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimps (not pictured). First, wonton soup was really flavorful. As a matter of fact, u can just have wonton soup and a bowl of rice and thats a complete meal already lol. It was just delicious. This soup is way better than other wonton soup i tried. I just wish its more hotter than usual as i like my soup quite hot. Second, the Vegetable Garden, which i asked the lady what was her suggestion be. She suggested that and i like the taste too. There's something on this dish that made me fell in love lol. I cant pinpoint it but the taste was different and it was just delish. And lastly, the honey walnut shrimps. The shrimps were huge lol. The sauce and walnuts are just perfect. Somebody says its a little pricey. For me, its worth it. Ill definitely come back and try new menus. Overall, its 10/10.

Such an excellent local hole-in-the-wall, I cannot wait to frequent this spot! Aesthetic - 7/10 Pretty much exactly what you would expect on the inside from looking at the outside. Cute, ornate pieces of art at the entrance, simplistic style throughout the dining room, and a semi-dirty fish tank in the middle. Staff - 8/10 Took quite awhile to have our order taken but when asked questions, the staff is very kind and helpful. Once our order was taken, the food came out so fast so was not really a big deal! Our order: Egg Drop Soup - Classic, exactly what you would expect. Honey Walnut Shrimp - Excellent and a huge amount of shrimp! No additional veggies or rice so not a good stand alone dish. White rice - Need I say more? Mongolian Beef - Super yummy! Slightly too garlic/oniony but a nice spice-flavor and beef is cooked very well. Vegetable stir fry - Classically done and so delicious! Definitely will be coming back for more!

Probably the most popular Chinese restaurant in Napa. The service is amazing and the food is always delicious. The Kung Pao beef is a must.

What style of Chinese food is it that they serve here? I grew up eating here and now live on the east coast and I cant stand the Chinese food out here. Chow Mein is something completely different and I'm wondering if its just a different style?

Suck.Bad customer service. Don't eat here?

When we arrived at 5 PM there was only one other table occupied. I believe I counted eight people seated there. 2. We were seated without menus which came about five minutes later. 3. I ordered Sizzling Rice Soup. I don't know when the rice was added to the soup, but it did not sizzle and the waitress held a plate of rice scraps in her hand. The fun of the soup is the sizzle! 4. Less than five minutes later my meal arrived. I was not done with my soup, so it sat untouched. I finished the cup of soup I was eating and even had another, while my main course continued to sit 5. It was well over five minutes, probably close to 10, before my friend's meal arrived!! I sat there uncomfortably nibbling at my meal so as to not be rude while she sat there with nothing.. 6. Nothing was ever cleared from the table. Huge cold soup bowl right in the center, our empty soup dishes, all of it. Then we started waiting for the check to appear and had to ask for boxes. Meanwhile, the large party got all the staffs attention! We were an afterthought at best. Never ever again will I go to this restaurant!

As such, it was extremely noisy and you could see that couples on dates had a hard time even talking to one another, and eventually just stopped. I could barely hear my wife talking next to me. Most of the servers would even have to lean in to hear the orders. As for the food, nothing really stood out. We ordered a large variety as we were a group of 10 eating family style and nothing really stood out. The quality of the food I would say was akin to fast food or mall food court level, but you're paying 3 times as much. The price belied the food quality. For example, 3 small pieces of ribs as an appetizer for more than $30, I'd expect it to be uniquely spiced, flavorful and juicy, but it was rather dry and tasted as like sauce from Panda Express. Their Wagyu beef carpaccio had too many strong flavors so the taste of the beef itself was lost. Heck, it didn't even really have the notable creamy-like texture that wagyu was supposed to have either (likely a lower grade of wagyu, probably somewhere between USDA Choice and Prime). A lot of their items feel gimmicky too: the unagi clay pot came with some seaweed, a seaweed holder, and two small bottles of sauces. The sauces were bland and contributed nothing to the dish. Making your own "hand rolls" with the seaweed did nothing for this dish other than get your hands dirty. I've watched enough Iron Chef back in the day to understand that this is very Morimoto, as he tries to make the dishes fun. The unagi itself was quite nice, though it might be my personal bias. The Halibut we got was overcooked and dry. Yes halibut is a firmer meat, but man this was hard to eat. The best dish was likely the Ishiyaki Buri Bop, which came with some tables idea theatrics. Nevertheless, for the price, you could do much better at a place like Kunjip Tofu in the bay. Overall, a bad experience. Based on the price point, I thought we'd be getting better food and better ambience, but it was overall mediocre - a blemish on the Morimoto name.

We came in right before the restaurant filled out at 10am and got the shakshuka along with a burger and fries. Everything was made perfectly and so flavorful. The chefs certainly have a skill for optimal taste and cooking as that was the best meal of the weekend. The server was so attentive and sweet too! Some mishaps have happened with service on prior visits but management and servers are always concerned and make it right. That's why I keep coming back. I Popped in Thursday afternoon for Pho. It was not busy only two other couples eating when we arrived. We sat at our usual table And noted service was a bit slow right off the bat. When I received my Pho, which I thought was a longer wait than usual, it was luke warm if that. The Korean ribs and chicken wings arrived temperature appropriate. I pushed my soup aside but no one checked back until my lunch mate finished. When the waiter came to clear the table I asked for a to go and thought he would ask if there was anything wrong. He did not so I told him the Pho was served luke warm so I did not eat it and that no one had checked back or even passed by us or I would have sent it back to heat it up. We were done now so I'd just take it to go. Our waiter apologized and when he brought the bill said The Pho was comped and apologized again for the breakdown in service. When I dine I like to relax and enjoy a meal With who I came with. So receiving temperature appropriate food is important. The KD does a good job. They have a diverse menu with flavorful food and great cocktails. When there is a hiccup in service or the food there is a genuine concern. Sometimes it's caught by them and others it's brought to their attention. It's how things are dealt with when those mishaps happen. The KD addresses your concerns with sincerity and want their diner to have an all around great experience. If you have not been give KD a try when in downtown Napa.
