For 15 years, I ordered take out from this place, no issues. Then I ordered through Door dash, a year ago, and all hell broke loose. They couldn't get my order right and hate their customers SO Much, they blocked my phone number. After a year of boycotting them, I tried one more time, and called in to ask nicely if they could "Please add soy sauce and Hot Mustard" to my order. They LITERALLY gave me the absolute smallest plastic container of Hot Mustard that was only big enough for 1 prawn. I called the restaurant, and they hung up on me. The family gathered at Wah Sing post T-day so that our mom would not have to drive far. She lives in Yountville and the rest of us try to make it easy for her. On top of that, we were all craving some good Chinese food. Wah Sing never disappoints. Our party of nine ordered entree after entree and it was a parade of delicious dishes. We were all starving by the time everyone got settled in (which took a while) and thank goodness the service was quick. A tip of the cap to our server who had to answer so many questions from some in our group. That being said, everything was hot and generous. Everyone got their fill and commented on how good it was. I've given this place 3 chances and I should've stopped after the first. The most recent visit of mine, I ordered a chicken chow mein to go with no bean sprouts. What I received were bland noodles with a few (as in maybe 3) tiny little pieces of chicken. When I say little, think of the size of a bean. My partner and I tried this place and we were excited to try as there are not many Chinese restaurants here in Napa (that aren't Panda Express). The staffs were quite friendly. They were able to accommodate me as soon as i got in. I always wanna try this Chinese restaurant because my coworkers said its really good. I ordered the Vegetable Garden (which was suggested by the server) w/ rice and Wonton Soup. I also ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimps (not pictured). First, wonton soup was really flavorful. As a matter of fact, u can just have wonton soup and a bowl of rice and thats a complete meal already lol. It was just delicious. This soup is way better than other wonton soup i tried. I just wish its more hotter than usual as i like my soup quite hot. Second, the Vegetable Garden, which i asked the lady what was her suggestion be. She suggested that and i like the taste too. There's something on this dish that made me fell in love lol. I cant pinpoint it but the taste was different and it was just delish. And lastly, the honey walnut shrimps. The shrimps were huge lol. We've been going here for years, and it never disappoints us. The food is good and tasty. We always order our favorites wonton soup, sweet and sour chicken, mixed vegetables, and drums of heaven. The service is quick. I like that there's a waiting area where you can sit and wait for your food. The ambiance is good. You can watch the aquarium while waiting. THERE IS NO GOOD CHINESE FOOD IN NAPA. That said, this is the most solid 3 star that we have tried (all other Chinese restaurants in Napa are three stars or less; I would give this one 3.25 if I could). The food is adequate. It is basically the same menu as just about every other Chinese restaurant in Napa, but they do some of the dishes just slightly better. We were quite surprised this time. We had tried Wah Sing numerous times in the past, and were always disappointed. This time, it wasn't so bad. New cook? We ordered pot stickers, steamed rice, chicken chow mein, green pepper beef, kung pao shrimp, and drums of heaven. The pot stickers were perfectly adequate and better than some of the other Chinese restaurants in Napa. The chicken chow mein was meh. The beef and shrimp were also just slightly above average. The drums of heaven were decent. One thing that this restaurant does that is good is that, for takeout (which is what we did), if you have something crispy (kung pao shrimp, drums of heaven), they give you the sauce in a separate container so it stays somewhat crispy. One thing that they don't do is label the sauces so you know which goes on what. Still, it was a good thought. I can't say we will rush back but, if you are in Napa, and are desperate for Chinese food, well, you could do MUCH worse. Every now and then we order out from Wah Sing restaurant and have never been disappointed. Easy to order and always hot when it gets home. We order the same 3 items because they are tried and true. You may say boring but they are so good that we always try not to eat it all so that we can have leftovers the next day for lunch! Our order is Pork Fried Rice, Egg rolls (there are only 2) and Vegetable Egg Foo Young. Give it a try, but don't add soy sauce to anything until you taste them as sometimes the can be salty enough.
